Transferring creative cloud to new iMac

I transferred all my files, including Creative Cloud to my new iMac. Creative Cloud suggested i download it, which I did, but when I went to install it, I get a message that says it is damaged and to re-download it. I have done this three times now with no success.

  • Transferring creative cloud to new computer?

I will be picking up a new iMac tomorrow and wonder how I will transfer my CC apps to the
New machine without appearing to double up?

    Hi lcanthinkofoname,
One CC allows you to activate it two times.
Incase you want to install on your new Mac machine, you can deactivate it from previous installed machine.
    How to Deactivate CC:
    Launch any product of CC
Go to "Help" menu at the top right end.
    Choose & click on "Deactivate"
Now you can install it on another Machine keeping the number of installs same as it was previously.
    Hope it helps you.

  • URGENT: Transferring Creative Cloud Account to new laptop

    Hello,
Am desperately looking for help. My MacBook Air was stolen, I have a new one, but having difficulty syncing Creative Cloud with new one. Help PLEASE?

The CC has been activated twice.
You need to deactivate it from PC,
If you want to activate for the third time, then you can by choosing to "deactivate from previous computer" option that you will get while activate it for the third time.
    Please refer to http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-deactivation-products.html#ac tivate-problem
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-deactivation-products.html#de activate-problem
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-deactivation-products.html#ho w-to
When you install it on the third computer or for the third time & when you to activate it, if it installed & activated already twice, there will be an option of deactivating it from the previous computers, please click on that.(To deactivate from preinstalled machine, Open any Adobe CC application > Help Menu > Signout.)
Next it will allow you to activate on your new machine,
Now you can go back to your first computer, log out & log back in of Desktopp CC App, launch any product, if there is any product to buy, in that prompt there will be an option to " license the software", please click on that & sign in.
It will reactivate the CC on the first machine.
You have already deactivated it from one machine, hence you can activate it on third computer.

  • How do I close creative cloud on my iMac.

I can not close the creative cloud on my iMac.  I have tried to force close but the program does not show up to force close!  When I try to download the new version it says close the program.  I can not.  And, I am going crazy with the stupid creative cloud connection flashing on my screen every two seconds!

Patricksrefuge please try utilizing the Activity Monitor available in the Applications/Utilities folder.  I would also recommend following the steps listed at (Mac) How do I Turn Sync Off or Quit Creative Cloud Connection app? - http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-3465.

  • Why did creative cloud install new 2014 software instead of updating the previous installed CC software to CC (2014)

With the update to creative cloud and the new CC (2014) version, I am wondering why the old CC versions were not updated. The reason I ask is that I now have two versions of Photoshop CC, where one is the 2014 version.  I have the same with Premier Pro, Illustrator and muse.  Is it safe to uninstall the the CC versions or is it adviseable to keep both versions.

Indeed, only preferences, presets and assets are being transferred.
Also make sure to first start all the new apps before uninstalling the old ones if you wish to migrate your presets, aso.!
btw. I just had to realize that Illustrator (WIN) doesn't seem to work properly anymore as because of unfixable registry issues, ID and PS are fine so if you are a Pro user with lots of plugins, presets, aso. it may be a good idea to keep the old versions for some time.

  • Transferring creative cloud to my second account at renewal

I have my products registered under my main Adobe id, and Creative cloud accidentally registered under a second Adobe Id.  How can I get my Creative Cloud under my main Id (sale as my age-old products) so I can get rid of the second id (useless email to be abandoned).  Can it be done somehow at time of Creative Cloud renewal - for example to renew as a new membership on the main account Id)?

Adobe CC orders are not transferred or merged, the best option would be to cancel the present CC under the unwanted Adobe ID & place a new order with the current Adobe ID.
The cancellation fee is waived off for such purchases. You will just need to log out of the Adobe Cc desktop app & sign back in with the desired ID after the new purchase.

  • Cannot use Creative Cloud in new Mac after using Migration Assistant

I used Migration Assistant to set up my new Mac (new computer is a Retina MacBookPro; so was old computer). I could not open any of my CC apps. When I open Creative Cloud Desktop App it is completely blank (no tabs for Apps, Fonts, Files, etc. -- No means of installing or updating apps). I uninstalled Creative Cloud and reinstalled (several times) but got the same results. I have also deleted all the Application Folders for CC apps that cam ever with Migration Assistant.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

  • Preparing new PC.  Best way to migrate over Creative Cloud on new PC and decomission/uninstall on the old PC?

    Hello.
I'm prepping a new motherboard, memory, SSD's and GPU.  I subscribe to Creative Cloud and want to install the apps on my new PC, while removing them from my older PC.
I dont plan on running both systems with Creative Cloud concurrently as I am also migrating the CPU from one to the other.  I have a spare I can pop into the old one to do any cleanup if need be.
Do I need to uninstall Creative Cloud on the existing PC and then reinstall it on the new one?
    Regards
    Frank

You need to install on the new one (migration will not work).  What you do with the old one is your choice.  You are allowed to have two working installations, so if you would like to have a backup installation available just leave it as is.  Otherwise, the minimum you need to do is to sign out of the Cloud on the old machine.

  • Problems with transferring iTunes Library to new iMac

I am having a problem with transferring my iTunes library to my new iMac. I have read many of the suggestions posted in this forum along with numerous articles on other sites. I have not seen anyone describe my exact problem.
When I got my new iMac, I used Migration Assistant to transfer everything (files, applications, settings, etc.) from my old iMac to the new iMac. On my old iMac, the iTunes music folder (i.e., the actual mp3s) are on an external HD, while the iTunes Library file (the database and xml files) were in the /user/Music/ folder on the old iMac.
After the Migration Assistant was done, the /user/music/ folder and the library files were copied to the new iMac, but the iTunes music folder was not. It is still on the external HD.
If I open iTunes on the new iMac, iTunes shows me all of my songs, but if I play one, I get the "song can't be found; do you want to find it" error. In iTunes preferences on the new iMac, the "iTunes music folder location" is the new iMac.
I have the 2 iMacs connected by a firewire cable, but neither iMac recognizes the other computer as being on the same network. That is, in Finder on the new iMac, I cannot see the external HD of the old iMac.
I can't change the library location on the old iMac, because the new iMac does not appear in Finder or in the "Change Music Folder Location" dialog box.
I want to move the music folder (the actual mp3s) from the external HD of the old iMac to the INTERNAL HD of the new iMac. I don't need to keep them on the old IMac, as I will be selling that computer. Of course, I want to keep all my playlists, artwork, etc from the old library.
    Does anyone have a suggestion?
    Thanks.

Never mind. Figured it out. I attached external HD to new iMac and consolidated. Duh.

  • What I Learned About Transferring Stuff To A New iMac

Just got the new 21.5" iMac with Fusion drive.  First time that I ever attempted transferring from the old to the new.  I wanted my excel/word docs and photos in particular to transfer.  That was my main goal anyhow.  But on the prompts from the new computer I transferred the whole shebang, not exactly knowing what the whole shebang would be....the only broad categories given by the system at the time were Users, Settings, Documents, and I think one more thing I cannot recall.  Had the option to check or uncheck the four boxes, they were pre-checked by apple, I assumed this was the common thing to do so I just did it.
I was going to use Numbers this time on this computer and avoid having Microsoft Office for Mac on the computer and all of its trash program...well...all that transferred over....so now Excel 2008 works, which is a good thing, but I  know I have the undesirable files loaded too...not happy with that but it is what it is.
Makes me wonder what other things were on old computer I could have lived without on new....on a side note, right after the computer sprung to life and said it was ready to go it gave me a message the Flipmac4 was not the right version or something.  Not sure how much it is needed or if it is outdated.  I think it has something to do with watching videos.  Perhaps I can uninstall it permanently and still watch Youtube and other vids.  Anyone know about this please pitch in.
It is nice to have all the photos and documents transfer over seemlessly like they did I just wish there was a way to be more selective in the process maybe I would have nixed Microsoft Office for Mac and other thing...I dunno....not really complaining just expressing what I have learned today....Please respond with things I might have done better if you know of anything so next time, maybe another three years from now ha ha, I can be better at it....
    THANKS ALL!
PS, even the passords for the internet apparently transferred....like when I went to sign on the apple communities the user ID and password were already pre-filled with my data.

I would first go through Setup Assistant (which opens automatically) without migrating anything. Run Software Update to install the latest updates from Apple, but otherwise use the iMac +as is+ for a while. When you are satisfied that it is working 100% perfectly, you can run Migration Assistant from Applications/Utilities/. This way, if you have a problem, it will be easier to troubleshoot.
Note: Since this is a refurb iMac, it is possible that it will have Leopard pre-installed instead of Snow Leopard. It should come with a disc for upgrading to Snow Leopard, if Leopard is pre-installed. If that is the case with this refurb, you should upgrade to Snow Leopard and test run it for a while before migrating the user data from the G5.
In Migration Assistant, you will be asked to select the data source. You can connect the two Mac, but you can also use that external drive with the clone. If that external drive is FireWire 400, you will need a cable that goes from FireWire 800 (9-pin) to FireWire 400 (6-pin), for example
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Newer%20Technology/1394B96036/
because the new iMac will only have FireWire 800 (if it's the early 2009 model). If the drive has USB 2.0, you can connect it that way to the new iMac. The option in Migration Assistant is +From Time Machine backup or other disk+. The external drive clone is the "other disk."
Then, Migration Assistant will ask what to migrate. Here, you should select to migrate only Users. Do not select +Applications, Settings, or Other...+ This will migrate user data from the old installation and leave everything else alone.
That is the easiest way. You can also connect the external drive clone and use Finder to copy the files over manually. That's the way I usually do it myself, so that I have more control over what gets transferred.

  • Issues installing creative cloud apps on iMac 10.9.4

I am trying to install Muse on my iMac 10.9.4 and have successfully downloaded and installed the CC app, however on downloading the Muse trial it just sits there saying it's downloading and nothing happens (6 hours yesterday and another hour this morning). The CC desktop app itself just has the 'egg timer' in the middle constantly spinning.  I have a 30Mb download speeds so not sure what the issue is.  Can anyone help as very frustrated?

Hi, I guess it depends on your individual issue. There really is nothing to expand upon other than I closed the Creative Cloud App, deleted the file ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE/opm.db and then restarted the app and all worked. Try launching the activity monitor and force ending any Adobe process that is running too before deleting the file, sometimes process hang about even though the app is closed.
The number I used was the one on the main site and chose Creative Cloud support option.  The link to the page is... Adobe United Kingdom - Support Programs : Adobe Products
