Transferring CS5 suite to new computer
Hi.
I have searched for this but can't find an answer.
I have Adobe Creative Suite 5 which I upgraded from CS4. I have bought a new computer and want to transfer the software AND all updates to it.
I know how to "de-register" program on the old PC and install software on the new but, do I have to download all the updates again (our bandwith is very expensive) or is there somewhere updates are stored?

That might not at all be possible. You definitely need to run trhe proper install to enable the licensing system. After that, you could try to copy over the already installed stuff from your old computer and overwrite your unpatched install. That might work, but there may stil lbe some oddities. This stuff is delicate and nobody can be sure whether this intricate network of settings will not frown on something... Anyway, nothing's lost by trying...

I transferred CS5 to a new computer using PC mover ultimate. CS5 appeared to start up normally, I had to insert the serial number from my original CD. However, now the program does not recognize CR files and Adobe bridge is not working properly. I get messages that CS5 needs to be updated, but the updates fail. What should I do? Should I uninstall CS5 on the new computer, uninstall CS5 on the old computer using the original CD, and then reinstall CS5 using the CD on the new computer?
Transferring programs does not work well with Adobe applications. You should install them.
As far as having the program on different machines goes, you are allowed to have two activated installations so if it is working on the original machine there is no reason to remove it unless you need the space. -
Can't open Raw files after transferring CS5 to my new computer
I just transferred cs5 to my new imac computer using my time machine backup. I now get a "photoshop does not recognize this file type" when I try to open a raw file from photoshop. When I try to open my raw files through bridge I get the message "you do not have permission to open the document. I have checked my permission preferences and have reading and writing permissions and updated to 6.7 ACR. I dont know what to do next?

I have an imac OSX 10.8.2. So is the application folder the correct location for the CS5 folder? There is a lot of unclear information about this out on the web.
Everything I loaded today has a CS5.1 name to it. I assumed that it was an updated version from my original CS5? If I click on the CS5 folder located in my user file it opens photoshop (probally means its not uninstalled... hum). I cant access it through utilities/adobe installers/uninstall CS5. So maybe I should do the Script cleaner like you mentioned? Or maybe CS5 and CS5.1 are the same program like you mentioned?
When I follow the path to camera raw you mentioned I get to a photoshop raw "pop up" but ACR doesnt open up. Are you asking for me to locate the Camera Raw plug in folder or look for multiples of the file inside my plugins folder? Their isnt a ACR file in my CS5 file that I found in my user folder or the CS5.1 file in my applications folder. Where would I typically find it? Im having a hard time finding it at all.
Im on my 2nd day of troubleshooting and Ive read so many articles and help threads. Ive had a call back order requested from adobe... Im still waiting 3 hours later. Im afraid they might just reject my request for help since I dont have CS6. You have by far been the best help Ive found. Thank you very much! If you can think of anything else to resolve this please let me know. Im so frusterated at this point... trying to be positive though, Im learning alot.

I have a new computer running os10.9. my old computer ran cs5.5(upgrade version). I am trying to get CS5.5onto my new computer. when i load cs5.5 towards the end of the install it asks for the cs5.5 serial number. i put that in and everything is accepted but then it asks for a serial number for a full version of a product which men is design premium cs3 but it doesn't give me that product as a choice from the drop down menu. it only gives me adobe master collection cs3. why when i have purchased all these different upgrades can i now not use them and how can i sort this out. i need cs5.5 on my new computer.

You have to install your product again in new computer and launch your product software and click on help menu from there you can activate your product with the help of your product serial number.

I downloaded Photoshop Elements a couple years ago and just bought a new Mac. Can I transfer Elements and Bridge to my new Mac? I put the files on a drive and transferred it to my new computer, but they aren't working right. Any suggestions?
What is the version of Elements you are trying to install. And also program cannot be migrated from one computer to another, you have to install it to make it work.

I own CS5 on my work laptop which was just stolen. Do I need to buy a new CS from scratch or can I transfer CS5 to a new computer even though I don't have the computer that CS5 is on? Company purchased CS5 before the whole creative cloud leasing thing started, but after discs.
