Transferring data and finger print

I have  a probook 450 g1 nootebook  when I copy data to usb flash drive is too slowly and I want to know is the finger print reader shining when it works or not?

Hi mohamedaltahawy,
I hope you had a terrific weekend.
I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure, I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums, since this is a commercial product. You can do this at Commercial Forum/Notebook - HP ProBook, EliteBook, Compaq, Slate/Tablet PC, Armada, LTE.
In the meantime, I will try to assist you.
The fingerprint reader will only shine when it is waiting for a response, example when you startup the computer and login, when it prompts for a response, it will light up and it will not be lit when not in use.
Here is a Microsoft document on Driver update to increase the maximum USB transfer size in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, please ensure you have done all your Windows updates.

  • Please release Android 5.1.1 for Galaxy S6 to fix notifications and finger print scanner!!!!!!

This is ridiculus.  You guys patched the phone to fix one thing and broke another.  My finger print scanner is a piece of crap!   It used to work 85% of the time before the update.  I have to have it on for security reasons and for work.  I am also still getting stupid notifications from the system that say things such as "Hidden Content", "Searching for GPS", and stuff pertaining to WIFI networks.  I can't get rid of those stupid updates.   Can you please realese an update to fix things, and not break things which further reduces the useablity of this $700+ phone?  I spent a lot of money on a phone with awesome hardware but so far the bugs have made the OS less then desirable.  I so miss my old Moto X.  It just worked and did not have these bugs and flakeyness!!

    >>The wifi notication is always going to be there. Search for GPS comes and goes I realize that.  IMO its not acceptable to pay $700+ for a phone and no option to turn this crap off.  I have had a lot of mobile phones and have never been annoyed by notifications that I can't turn off.  Reseting it is not an option either.  We don't have any idea if that would even help.  Sounds like a generic canned answer to me.  Is there a knowledge base article that goes over the bugs and fixes for these issues?  I work in IT and my vendors such as Microsoft, Cisco and VMware release knowledge base articles for bugs and work arounds for them but yet I don't see that for AT&T phones.  Do you have any idea how many hours I put in to setup this phone with all the work apps and personal apps, WIFI etc?

  • Client security and finger print

I recentlyy upgraded the fingerprint software to its newest release /http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-73585) and since then the client security system says the finger print software is not installed. The client security works fine if i type the password. At window log on i can swipe the finger print and log on. On web browser the link between css and fingerprint does not work and i have to type the password
    Finger print software 5.9.3.6581

How can i re link both ?

I compiled 2.6.28 but my fingerprint reader (Bus 005 Device 003: ID 0483:2016 SGS Thomson Microelectronics Fingerprint Reader) does not work anymore. Here's the error using sudo:
    > sudo ls
Scan right index finger on UPEK TouchStrip
    upekts:error [__read_msg] msg read failed, code -2
    upekts:error [do_init] expected command, got -1 seq=0
    Fingerprint verification error -71
    Password:
At least I can enter manually the password...
    Anybody has the same problem?

I can't seem to find a possibility to attach anything to posts
Kernel patch is some posts above and there is the patch for thinkfinger, fortunately not long
PLEASE, be aware that this is not for fprint (as topic suggests), this patch is for THINKFINGER!

  • Using T510 for the 1st time and finger print reader

I am preparing for the delivery of my Lenovo T510 and when you use it the first time, what are the procedures, set by step, and at what point and how do you set up the finger point reader please.

    Hello mate,
On the task bar you have a laptop icon call Lenovo Think. click there and then click on Lenovo Thinkvantage Tools. In here you have all the Thinkvantage softwares in the computer. Just clic on Fingerprint Reader to open it.
The fingerprint reader can be use to power on the computer you need to specify a windows password to use it.
you can put a BIOS password and you use fingerprint instead.
Make the restore disks as soon as possible. To create them follow the steps above and click on Factory Recovery Disks instead.
Changing the boot order is just a setting in the BIOS you can do that at any time.
No you don't have to install Norton or Office 2010. If it's already installed you can uninstall them from the control panel>programs and features.

  • HT201269 Transferring data and apple I'd

I have just transferred my personal apps and info from my work ipad to my personal ipad. Should I change my apple Id too? I would reset the work one but there is some video I need to leave on it.

Very few apps continue to use apps when suspended; I doubt that FB is one of them.  Also, you can set a different Apple ID for Game Center, iMessage, FaceTime and other services and still share your iTunes purchasig ID.  They do not have to be the same.

  • Transferring data and deleting the old

I want to get a new 5th gen. Ipod and I was wondering if your able to transfer data to the newer ipod? And if your able to delete the old ipod from the itunes account.

In one catalog, select File->Import from Catalog and point it to a different catalog. Repeat until all catalogs are imported into the first catalog.
After you check the contents of the master catalog, and are sure they have everything you want, you could delete the old ones. I'd still makes backups of every catalog just in case.

  • Finger Print Scanner is not working after downloading new operating system 8.1

    hi,
recently i have installed new OS windows 8.1 for my HP PAVILION DV6 laptop, but my bluetooth and finger print scanner is not working. can any one suggest me solve my problem..

    best regards

    Hi @sam1211 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook and Bluetooth and HP Simplepass complications since doing a Windows upgrade. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Just download and run the application. Just to make sure all drivers and software are updated as well.
Here is a document on troubleshooting and using Bluetooth if needed. Under the tips for finding a Bluetooth device, there is a section on making sure the wireless communication is turned on. This is an important section.
Here is another document with some great information about Bluetooth fixes.
Here is a link to troubleshoot the HP Simplepass software.
The HP SimplePass Identity Protection Software must be updated to v8.00.57 or later. Here is a link to download the latest. You will have to uninstall the old software.
Hope this helps you with the Bluetooth and HP Simplepass.
    Thanks.

  • DATE and TIME and PATH stamps

I'm a relative newbie still having issues with getting date and time stamps on my printed documents. I use Preview, Pages, Numbers and also tend to print to PDF a lot, which I am opening in Preview.
I have found an "Insert" ability in Pages but for some reason it appears to only give me the date that I inserted the Timestamp and despite thinking that I understood that this would update itself when I re-open the document it does not seem to be doing this.
Can anyone help me figure out what I am doing wrong and/or what my options in Mac for putting the following on a document:
    A. DATE and TIME /printed/
    B. NAME of document with LOCATION (I assume this is software specific?!)
Thanks for any (further) help with this.
    - Jon

    menu Insert > Date_time
then apply what was described by Jerrold in his message above
Helpful AnswerRe: DATE and TIME and PATH stamps
    22 nov. 2011 18:05 (in response to hotwheels 22)
Or simply double-click the inserted date-time (CAUTION : I don't know if the double click apply with every system or if it's dedicated to Lion).
As far as I know, the inserted date behaves the same in header, footer, text box or main text layer.

Yes, ...and I was hoping to find a solution since I sometimes have the same problem!
But I'm afraid there is none. For sure I didn't find any fxscript function returning Date&Time. At the moment the best solution I know is what you suggested, Ian: capture twice, once in FCE for editing and once in iMovie for reading Date and Time.
I'd be glad to write and share a plugin displaying date and time if somebody is able to tell me what fxscript function (if any) should I use...

  • Contacts, data and Mysql

    Hello,
I am in the process of transferring data and contacts onto a Mysql database.
I have had some help and am trying to get a software solution.
So main features would be to migrate large amounts of data and contacts every day. The migration would be done manually.
    Thanks for the help.

Some solutions exist to migrate data and contacts you can look at. It all depends on the type of software you would like to use.
You can work with proprietary software, expensive compared to other solutions like open source. Look into software like Informatica for example or Talend Open Studio, which is an open source program.

have 2 imac computers and here are my questions: first, how to I transfer the information from my contact directory from my old imac into my new imac?  Once the information is transfered how can I print it? Second: I have a large music collection in my old Imac computer how do I transfer this information to my new computer? Also how can I share this information with other computers at home?

I think you may find helpful information here:
A Basic Guide for Migrating to Intel-Macs
The Knowledgebase article Intel-based Mac: Some migrated applications may need to be updated refers to methods of dealing with migrating from PowerPC chips to Intel with the Migration Assistant safely. The authors of this tip have not had a chance to verify this works in all instances, or that it avoids the 10.6.1 and earlier Guest Account bug that caused account information to get deleted upon use of the Migration/Setup Assistant. However, a well backed up source that includes at least two backups of all the data that are not connected to your machine will help you avoid potential issues, should they arise. In event it does not work, follow the steps below.
If you are migrating a PowerPC system (G3, G4, or G5) to an Intel-Mac be careful what you migrate.  Keep in mind that some items that may get transferred will not work on Intel machines and may end up causing your computer's operating system to malfunction.
Rosetta supports "software that runs on the PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor that are built for Mac OS X". This excludes the items that are not universal binaries or simply will not work in Rosetta:
Classic Environment, and subsequently any Mac OS 9 or earlier applications
Screensavers written for the PowerPC System Preference add-ons
All Unsanity Haxies Browser and other plug-ins
    Contextual Menu Items
Applications which specifically require the PowerPC G5 Kernel extensions
Java applications with JNI (PowerPC) libraries
See also What Can Be Translated by Rosetta.
In addition to the above you could also have problems with migrated cache files and/or cache files containing code that is incompatible.
If you migrate a user folder that contains any of these items, you may find that your Intel-Mac is malfunctioning. It would be wise to take care when migrating your systems from a PowerPC platform to an Intel-Mac platform to assure that you do not migrate these incompatible items.
If you have problems with applications not working, then completely uninstall said application and reinstall it from scratch. Take great care with Java applications and Java-based Peer-to-Peer applications. Many Java apps will not work on Intel-Macs as they are currently compiled. As of this time Limewire, Cabos, and Acquisition are available as universal binaries. Do not install browser plug-ins such as Flash or Shockwave from downloaded installers unless they are universal binaries. The version of OS X installed on your Intel-Mac comes with special compatible versions of Flash and Shockwave plug-ins for use with your browser.
The same problem will exist for any hardware drivers such as mouse software unless the drivers have been compiled as universal binaries. For third-party mice the current choices are USB Overdrive or SteerMouse. Contact the developer or manufacturer of your third-party mouse software to find out when a universal binary version will be available.
Also be careful with some backup utilities and third-party disk repair utilities. Disk Warrior, TechTool Pro , SuperDuper , and Drive Genius  work properly on Intel-Macs with Leopard.  The same caution may apply to the many "maintenance" utilities that have not yet been converted to universal binaries.  Leopard Cache Cleaner, Onyx, TinkerTool System, and Cocktail are now compatible with Leopard.
Before migrating or installing software on your Intel-Mac check MacFixit's Rosetta Compatibility Index.
Additional links that will be helpful to new Intel-Mac users:

Transferring data with Setup Assistant - Migration Assistant FAQ
Because Migration Assistant isn't the ideal way to migrate from PowerPC to Intel Macs, using Target Disk Mode, copying the critical contents to CD and DVD, an external hard drive, or networking will work better when moving from PowerPC to Intel Macs.  The initial section below discusses Target Disk Mode.  It is then followed by a section which discusses networking with Macs that lack Firewire.
If both computers support the use of Firewire then you can use the following instructions:
    1. Repair the hard drive and permissions using Disk Utility.
    2. Backup your data.  This is vitally important in case you make a mistake or there's some other problem.
    3. Connect a Firewire cable between your old Mac and your new Intel Mac.
    4. Startup your old Mac in Transferring files between two computers using FireWire.
    5. Startup your new Mac for the first time, go through the setup and registration screens, but do NOT migrate data over. Get to your desktop on the new Mac without migrating any new data over.
If you are not able to use a Firewire connection (for example you have a Late 2008 MacBook that only supports USB:)
    1. Set up a local home network: Creating a small Ethernet Network.
    2. If you have a MacBook Air or Late 2008 MacBook see the following:
    MacBook (13-inch, Aluminum, Late 2008) and MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2008)- What to do if migration is unsuccessful;
    MacBook Air- Migration Tips and Tricks;
MacBook Air- Remote Disc, Migration, or Remote Install Mac OS X and wireless 802.11n networks.
Copy the following items from your old Mac to the new Mac:
In your /Home/ folder: Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures, and Sites folders.
    In your /Home/Library/ folder:
/Home/Library/Application Support/AddressBook (copy the whole folder) /Home/Library/Application Support/iCal (copy the whole folder)
Also in /Home/Library/Application Support (copy whatever else you need including folders for any third-party applications)
/Home/Library/Keychains (copy the whole folder) /Home/Library/Mail (copy the whole folder) /Home/Library/Preferences/ (copy the whole folder) /Home /Library/Calendars (copy the whole folder) /Home /Library/iTunes (copy the whole folder) /Home /Library/Safari (copy the whole folder)
    If you want cookies:
    /Home/Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist /Home/Library/Application Support/WebFoundation/HTTPCookies.plist
    For Entourage users:
Entourage is in /Home/Documents/Microsoft User Data Also in /Home/Library/Preferences/Microsoft.
Credit goes to Macjack for this information.
If you need to transfer data for other applications please ask the vendor or ask in the  Discussions where specific applications store their data.
    5. Once you have transferred what you need restart the new Mac and test to make sure the contents are there for each of the applications.

  • Phone is connecting and transfering data in the ba...

Today at work my Nokia 6710 did start to transfer data in the background without my interaction. I was typing a sms while the symbol for data transfer below the 3G lit up. Did a quick check in the menu->settings->connectivity->Conn.mgr.  Yes, one active connection was sending and receiving data, small amounts 3-4kb, then idle.
I ended the connection in the Conn.mgr. Closed all the apps in the phone and waited a minute. Then it started one new connection in the background again! Same procedure, checked and closed it...! This did not stop, every time the phone started a new connection after a minute?
I did try to find what could cause this, but no success. What is going on, any ideas for what to check?
I finally deleted my  3G access point in menu->settings->settings->connection->destinations->internet
This did stopp the phone from connecting and transfering data.
Back home I connected to my WiFi at home, used the browser and closed the connection. Guess what, the phone did now connect via the WiFi in the background doing exactly the same type of small data transfer - without asking!?
What is this? I downloaded the latest F-Secure mobile version to check for virus, but nothing, it was clean.
I did shut down the phone, will not use it until I can stop these unwanted connections and transfers. Please help.

Finally I found the reason for these data transfers. The upgrade of the mentioned files did have something to do with all of this, but the removal of the files did not help.
So, I did go through all the settings in again for Connections and the setting for Share Video were set On...? Turning this setting Off did stop the background data transfers.
Problem solved perhaps. But I still wonder why the Share Video setting did start sending data while the phone was not in use? A bug? A virus? A hacker trying to activate the webcam?
