Transferring editing software from LR-3 to LR-4

I've successfully downloaded LR-4. However, my NIK and Topaz software didn't transfer from LR-3. I can see the software listed under the "edit in" heading, but when I click on it, nothing comes up. Any suggestions?

You didn't mention who told you you could transfer the software, but I suspect it was not anyone from Adobe. Versions are platform specific so there is little chance of installing the Windows version on a Mac without the use of a Windows emulator of some kind. Since it is CS6, you do have the option to apply for a platform swap. See the following...

Transfering edited photos from laptop to PC

When I've keyworded, edited, and rated photos on my laptop, can I then transfer these photos to my PC so the original photos, along with all these types of changes, are still visible and actively adjustable (e.g. the ability to clear a crop) in the Lightroom Develop module?

Run Export as Catalog on laptop, then Import from Catalog on PC. If it's the whole catalog, no need for first ste; just copy over the .lrcat and image files, then Import as Catalog.

Edited photos from iphone 4s not saving when transferred to computer!!!

How come after I enhance my photos on my iphone4s and I transfer them to my computer, the changes don't save? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of editing them from your phone? Can this be fixed?

I am having the exact same problem. I am transferring photos via icloud to my windows 7 PC, some pictures I can rotate and others I can't. I get an error about file properties, even though the file properties are the same as the photos I can rotate. This is definitely some kind of bug.

Transferring edited photos/albums to PC from ios5 iPhone 4 - HELP!

Having trouble transferring my newly edited photographs from iPhone 4 with ios5 (of course) to the PC.
Basically, having auto enhanced a number of images and saved them, along with crops etc.. then created albums.. I now find I can only send the EDITED version by emailing 5 at a time. I want, for example, to transfer a folder of 420 images! But as it stands it only transfers the original edited images.
I'd be very happy to find out how I can do this. I use windows 7. I'd love a mac sure but for now I need a windows solution.

When you plug your phone into your computer, it should mount as a drive/device under Computer.
For me, in Windows 7, it shows up under the Portable Devices section. Once the device is mounted, you can browse down to your files and drag copies to your computer.
(In this case, a PC is actually better than a Mac. With a Mac, I believe you have to use iPhoto for this; you can't directly access the phone's disk. When I want to copy all of my photos in one go, I bring my phone to work and use a PC. So, you're in good shape here.)

Before you connect any device to a new library go to the Devices tab of the the preferences panel via Edit > Preferences (Windows) or iTunes > Preferences (Mac) and ensure the box next to Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically is ticked. You can now safely connect the device to your computer without the danger of media being automatically deleted or overwritten.
To get all your content off your connect your iPad to your new computer.
Then use a 3rd party piece of software to transfer your content

hi, i just want to buy ipad2 from my friend. but he uses it for different purpose and i want to use it to store and edit photos clicked from my digital camera. is it possible to transfer photos from my camera to ipad and secondly if i am out on some work ie. away from my office, can i edit or email them to any destination on the net. are the photo editing softwares available on appstore ?

iPhoto is apples editing app, there are lots more to choose from.
There is an adapter to let you connect cameras or flash cards for photo transfers to the iPad.

GoPro records in mp4 (h264) the files are transfered from the camera to the Mac and then converted with MPEG Streamclip, for iMovie to DV stream, this is a well established procedure.

Premiere Pro CS4 - editing video from GoPro video camera

I am having a problem trying to edit video from the GoPro camera in Premiere Pro CS4 (PP). Have not been able to get much help from GoPro - they just tell me to speak with Adobe. I think the video codec used by the camera is MJPEG (?). It won't play at all on the timeline. Interestingly it will in After Effects (AE) CS4 and if I export it out of AE as a Microsoft AVI file I can then play it in PP. However if I go straight to Media Encoder and import the clip and then try export the clip via ME as a Microsoft AVI the exported clip from ME won't play in Premiere Pro. I am confused. Does anyone know this camera, it's codec and why it just won't work when directly imported into Premiere Pro but it will when imported directly into After Effects. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I just purchase Adobe Premiere Pro a few days ago - and subsequently updated it to Ver 4.2.1. A started a new project - I tried to import some video footage I just shot with a GOPro Hemet Cam while skiing at our local mountain. I can easlily see the clip using Real Media Player - or the Quick Time player. It is a 10.9 MB ... 7 second MPEG-4 movie clip. File name is "gopro0030.mp4"
I created a "bin" called video .... then right clicked to import the file. You can see the file name in the media browser. But the file would not import. I received this error message: "109C ImporterProcessServer.exe Application Error. The instruction at "0x05efcac" referenced memory at "0x00000014". The memory could not be read. CLick OK to terminate."
This is very frustrating - I just purchased the software - and it won't import a 7 second video clip! It did import still fotos with no problem. What can I do?

Verify you are using iPhoto11 ver 9.5
if not run the >Software update or check your apps folder and make sure the correct iPhoto is launched, not an older ver.

How do I transfer a multiple number of my edited pictures from iPhoto on my iPad to iPhoto on my mac?

I have been working on my ipad with iphoto. First I transferred the pictures from my SD card with connection kit and then I started to edit a lot of them. Now i need to transfer them back to my mac. I would like to continue manage them in Iphoto on the mac but I can not find the option. When I import the pictures via Iphoto or aperture the pictures transfers without the changes I made on the Ipad. I've also tried the command "Send to Itunes" but nothing happens. Do I really need to convert every edited picture to the camera roll ONE BY ONE and then sync the normal way? And I need them with no loss of quality because I want to print a book later. There is no link between iPhoto (or Aperture) on your Mac and the app on iOS. So you'll need to export from the iOS app and then import to your preferred app on the Mac. For details on that:

There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate. You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

IPAD2 since yesterday seems to have stopped allowing transfers of photos from anything other than another Apple product and comes up with the message2 itunes will no longer sync photos....which are not transferred from a Mac? Looks as if there is a prob

So here is the deal. I used to be able to burn CDs with iTunes that played back fine on both my car and home stereo. After some update, and I am very sorry but I really do not remember which one, as I am just a user and not a programmer and just want something that works, which in the end Apple used to be all about, and therefore do not keep track of all the updates, CDs won't play back on my car stereo. Nothing else changed, still the same brand of CDs (even the same stack!), still the same car stereo, and still the same 2007 MBP. So by simple deduction I conclude it must be a software update. And I do not care what the exact cause is, I just want a fix!
I'd like to apologize for my tone in the above, but it is just a very annoying problem, even more so because it seems nothing is being done about it. Thanks for your answer in advance!
