Transferring email (or attachments) from iphone to MacBookPro and back

I have a new MacBook Pro 17 running 10.5.7 and an iphone 3G running 3.0.
When working at clients or on the train, I often am out of internet range for the computer.
When I receive on my iphone an email with, say, a multi-page Excel workbook attached, in order to work on it and return it to sender, I need to be able to transfer the email, or the attached file, from the phone to the computer and then back again.
I have struggled to find an app that actually works when there is no wireless network available or that uses the USB cable or Bluetooth. It ought to be possible - is it?

Hi, I have nearly the same needs as you for receiving/transferring/editing/transferring/sending on the road away from a net connection. Have scoured the App Store with little luck.
Am on the verge of getting my first iPhone. If you notice this, could you briefly comment on how it's worked out for you?

Syncing Apps from iPhone to iTunes and back

I've transferred my apps from the iPhone to iTunes by clicking on "Transfer Purchases" That's all good so now they both have the same apps.
I've installed the latest ver of iTunes so ultimately it allows us to re-arrange the pages of apps on the iPhone through iTunes.
When the checkbox "Sync Applications" is unchecked I can see my apps as arranged on the iPhone, when I check it everything is different. That's not what I want as it tells me my settings will be copied from iTunes to iPhone.
What I want is for it to recognise my latest apps setup on my iPhone and THEN allow me to re-arrange it from iTunes before syncing.
How can I do this?
Extra info: This is for my MBP, I've synced it with my PC and I think that has the latest settings I'm not too sure.

As already mentioned, you can only sync to one computer at a time. To be able to go back to your computer, disable autosync in itunes, connect your phone and right click on it in the device list and choose Backup. Transfer your purchases the same way after that. Then sync your phone. All media content will be erased during this process, but you can restore your phone from the manual backup you made before. TS4002 Not receiving emails w/ attachments from a few of my existing contacts

This is a problem I just started having in the last couple weeks! I am not receiving emails w/ attachments from two of my every day mail contacts. Both of these people are with different organizations with different email accounts. If they send me an email without an attachment I receive it, but when they send one with an attachment, I don't even get a notification that they TRIED to send it! I have missed multiple emails from important business clients and my realtor! I have received hundreds of emails from these clients over the last 3 years. The attachments are simple PDF files so I know they are not exceeding the limit. They do not show up on the iCloud site, in my Mail app, or on my iPhone.
I have had several other contacts send me attachments which I receive as expected.
I have an @me.com account. Have had no complaints until now.
Any help?

Hook the phone to the computer, open the Computer icon and look for the iPhone folder. Copy the images. Not difficult at all. Sync your contacts with Outlook through iTunes. Not really so difficult.

Hi, Yes connected iphone with lead to apple mac, opened itunes and moved film back to mac, opposite to when i moved it to my phone right? O and i did have internet connection.
Anyway it just lost my film! dont feel like hiring another film through itunes untill i can explain what went wrong.

Email Wont Dlete From iPhone 3G

Greetings,
I've got two emails on my iPhone 3G that won't delete, even though they are deleted from the server at ATT Worldnet. All other email seems to work just fine, but these two emails won't go away no matter how many times I hit and confirm Delete.
Any ideas?

Seems like this is happening to a lot of others too, inclduing myself. I have 3 emails from my work account on Outlook that won't go away. It keeps saying that it cannot move the message to the Trash.
I'm on a 1st Gen iPhone with the 2.01 software so it's definitely not limited to the new phone.
I've tried various things like changing from Fetch to Push and back, delting the original email on my work PC, etc. So far no luck.

I apologize about the odd style but I'm using voice rec software. I just got the Galaxy S five and I have this problem too after weeks of searching online I finally figured out the problem it is with iMessage even if you have your old phones imessage switched off. you have to get your friends to text you normally and send. If the text bubble shows up blue, press and hold choose option send as SMS or text and the bubble will change to green green means SMS blue is the iMessage so its up to the iPhone user to take literally a half of an extra step to send a text to you and if they don't do that then they're just jerks

Photos and some other items are added back after the restore has completed, you may need to wait a while.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy of your computer to put everything on the new one.
It sounds like you have failed to do this, which is not good at all.
You will have to transfer your itunes purchases from your iphone. Authorize your computer for your itunes account
About iTunes Store authorization and deauthorization
Open itunes, plug in iphone, do NOT sync, click File>Transfer Purchases
When you do sync you will lose your pics ( photo library - synced from your old computer), your itunes content ( music, apps, videos,etc) , your contacts and your calendars. So do NOT sync yet. This is why a backup copy is so important.
Enter one unique contact and calendar entry on your computer.
When you first sync, you should get the option to merger the data. Choose it.
If you want your pics, then you will need to e-mail them to yourself before you sync. They will not be of the original quality as they are reduced when synced to iphone.
When all is as goos as it can be, then backup your computer, and always maintain the backup.

How do I get my email history off of my POP servers and BACK into Mail?

I was trying to change the name of a folder in my OS 10.4 Tiger Mail application. It generated an error message, (I do not know the exact message) it said that I could not change the name of that folder. After the error message left the screen, ALL of the email in that folder disappeared. Including all of the email in the 24 sub-folders that I had created... Poof... Gone... My entire business email history for the past month.
I was able to access my account info (through the Account Info panel) for all 4 of my POP accounts located on different POP servers. Thankfully, my email history has NOT been deleted off of those servers. So my question is:
How do I get my email history off of my POP servers and BACK into Mail?
I DO NOT want to delete ANY email from the servers, I just want to get my history back into Tiger Mail... Someone help me please...

I spoke with Mac Tech Support. To get my messages from my server back into Mail, I was told to mark my email (on my webmail server) as unread. Mail will then know to pull these specific messages into my account.
However, this is one of a handful of problems that I have been having with the Mail application. Just today I tried to create a new message by hitting NEW and the program crashed. This plus having all of my messages disappear and then having to reimport them isn't worth the effort. I've decided to stop using Mail completely.
I was just told about Mozilla's Thunderbird email application. It's free and looks better than Mail. Do yourself a favor and go check out Thunderbird at:
