How do I transfer all my game apps at the same level I have them played to from one iPad to another? e.g., Candy Crush I'm on level 165 and would like to pick up from there on my new device, not start back on level 1.

I don't want them taking up space on my computer. iPad backups and apps on the cloud are enough to ensure my apps are backed up, so I don't understand why they need to be on iTunes too. As far as I can tell there is no option to give you that control. It is worth noting that apps can be withdrawn from the store at any time. Should your device need restoring you need all the apps in your library to transfer to it before the app data can be successfully restored. Pulling that all down from the cloud would be time consuming.
If space is becoming an issue you should consider moving the library to a bigger drive (which you should also backup to another).
As a temporary measure you could try deleting some larger apps using Finder from within iTunes/iTunes Media/Mobile Applications while keeping the entries in your library. iTunes may complain during syncs that it cannot copy apps to the device because they cannot be found, but it should not clear them from the device. Test first on a single app that doesn't have any data that you would mind losing in case the behavior has changed from the last time I tested it.

COMPLETELY remove app from ipad air?

I recently installed an app on my ipad which later locked up while downloading a data file from the providers website. So the app is stuck in the download. I removed the app then reinstalled it. It remembers that it was in a download and immediately tried to download the data file again and then locks up again. How can I get it to "forget" where it was and get a clean reinstall?
I've searched for similar issues and found discussion about removing the app from iTunes, so I will mention that this app does not appear in my iTunes library.
The app also appeared on my wife's ipad via the cloud and seems to work normally so I know it is possible to function.

I've already tried that, to be clear though... The download done not fail, it reinstalls the app but it immediately attempts to download the file again all on it own, then locks up.
Clearly, SOMETHING, is being retained on my ipad. The app should not try do anything until I prompt it to and in fact didn't on the initial install. It was after I originally attempted to do the file download that caused the lockup that I now cannot stop from happening when reinstalled.
How can I make it behave like it did the first time?

You can copy an app from your iPad to Mac's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases, or you should be able to re-download it directly on your Mac's iTunes (re-downloading) - you can then take a backup of it and/or use it in the future if you need to resync/restore it back to your iPad (you can't use iPad apps on a Mac as they are different operating systems)

Data does not sync between devices, so you can't do what you want to accomplish.
If you want to sync 1Password, then install it on both devices and use it's iCloud sync feature.

Sync them via iTunes. All your apps should be backed up in your iTunes Library anyway.

I have the same problem. I updated my mac to 10.5, which then had me update apps like itunes, etc. then it wanted me to sync my purchased music to my ipad before i updated the ipad...which worked ok. then when i was syncing the photos i got the same message when i hit "apply" asking are you sure you want to delete the 12 apps from the ipad - clicked "no" and brought me back to the original screen. Got the same message when trying to move them from the hard drive to the ipad. WHat is going on and how do I correct this? Thanks

You can only install new apps on iTunes and transfer them to iPad,you cannot update apps that are already on your iPad using iTunes.

I'm getting a message that my iCloud storage is almost full (5.0 GB, 186 mb remaining). I have transferred all photos from iPad and iPhone to Mac. I've deleted all but 200 photos on each of these devices. Data storage is still same.

I have transferred all photos from iPad and iPhone to Mac. I have deleted almost all photos from both (about 200 remaining on each). I do not store tunes or videos. After making these changes, I still have the same message in iCloud.

Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage > Select your device (listed as 'This iPhone' or 'This iPad') then look at the next backup size. Compare the 'Next Backup Size' to the 'Backup Size' on taht same screen. If the next backup size is smaller, then you have successfully removed some content from your device.
Now the question still lingers as to why your iCloud is still showing so full right? Well, iCloud keeps the last 3 backups from each device. It doesn't duplicate them, but it uses an incremental backup system. So basically your device's backup will take up as much space on iCloud as the largest backup of the last 3 backups. With that being said, your iPhone and ipad will eventually shrink the size of your backup (if that next backup size is smaller) in about 3 days (3 backups assuming your iOS devices backup once as day when you are sleeping).
Can I expedite this? Well of course you can. If you want, you can Delete the backup from both of the devices via that same screen then go back to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup, turn iCloud Backups back on, then backup now. Keep in mind that if you do this, it will clear out your last 3 backups (and cannot be undone), but it may also take a long while for your iPhone and iPad to complete that inital backup after deleting the old backups.
I hope this helps. (My Recommendation: Basically check what's in paragraph one, then it will works itself out in a few days.)
