Transferring iBooks if upgrade to new iPad?

I know most likely no one has run into this as of yet, but I noticed in iTunes that there is no backup button like for my iPhone. I don't usually have my music and such set to sync to iTunes, but when the time to upgrade comes, I just hit back up, and then restore the new phone from the back up of the old phone.
Since I don't see a button for this- will we all be forced to keep our books in sync through iTunes? Better yet, when the time comes to upgrade, will my books follow me to my new iPad? I already know they will through the Kindle app, but I was hoping to use the new iBooks app too.
Thanks all!

I only have a book area under the device listing. I don't have a book area in iTunes itself, not like how you have a listing for your music library or audiobooks or movies, etc
Here is the way mine looks. Four of the books shown were dropped directly to the iTunes window. When identified as ePub books, iTunes automatically created the "Books" area and placed them there.
When I later "purchased" the free books, they were also added to this same area. Other than the initial four items I imported directly to iTunes, everything else you see was downloaded to to my iPad from the iBookstore and sometime thereafter auto-transferred to this same folder by iTunes. You will also note two entries for a couple of books. That is because the iBookstore carried two versions of the same book and I wanted to see how the differed.
The books also don't show up as conventional iTunes purchases.
Neither do mine.

I upgraded my new iPad (iPad 3) to IOS 6 and everything went well except Siri won’t launch apps. When asked say “launch Facebook” Siri responds with “it doesn’t look like you have an app named Facebook” and I get the same results when trying to launch any app. Siri works for everything else it just won’t launch apps. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have this same problem... Seems like nobody else does. Siri won't launch any apps for me, including native apps.

I  wonder if another provider would really be much different?  Read some of the other carrier forums - seems to be the same story everywhere.
I'm not disagreeing with you - I've found that I am usually more informed about Verizon policies and procedures than some of the reps in our local store.

  • I upgraded my new Ipad to OS 5.1.1, and all apps have started crashing. As soon as I open an app it crashes right away. Tried syncing, restarting, hasnt made a difference. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

You mention that you have tried restarting, but did you try a reset?
Simultaneously hold down the Home and the On buttons until the iPad shuts downs. Ignore the Off slider should it appear. This will take ten seconds give or take. After the sut down is complete, press the Onn button to restart. NOTE: this is different from simply shutting down the iPad.

  • Is it safe to upgrade brand new iPad 2 to ios 5.0.1?

I've just bought a new iPad 2 and am eager to upgrade to iOS 5 for all those new features.. However, the web's littered with complaints from iPhone users about major issues with the iOS 5.0.1 version. I haven't been able to find anything specifically pointing to problems with 5.0.1 on iPad2. Can people who've upgraded their iPad 2 to 5.0.1 tell me if they're facing any problems with the updated iOS or is the problem just limited to iPhone users?
    Thanks!

I would update. Just make sure you fully back it up first then do the upgrade.
I think the only issue I've had is my wifi occasionally dropping...which just means it disconnects and has to be reconnected every so often. Not horrible, just annoying.
I haven't experienced the battery drain issue and the other big glitch was syncing via iCloud and it eating all my contacts. But that' s not a problem with upgrading, rather an issue with the iCloud as a whole.

  • Can I get the Apple IBook Author on the New IPad

Will the ibook author be available for the new iPad? I've got a MacBook but its easier to use the iPad because of a disability.
I use an ibook creator on the iPad at the moment, but I would much prefer to use the Apple Ibook creator.
I haven't actually published anything yet and I'm thinking that it would be better to use the ibook author, so I can submit it straight to the ibook store.
Also, does anyone know if there are any proofreading and editing tools that I could use, as it is very expensive getting someone to do it for me. I had a quote of around £850 for a 100,000 word book!
Thank you. Any help will be most appreciated :)

Have you tried Book Creator for iPad? You can create an ePub file which is already standards-compliant for Apple's iBookstore, so you can publish it without too much hassle.

  • Transferring from Apple laptop to new iPad Air?

So I have a 7 year old Mac OS X version 10.5.8 laptop that I have some movies on that I want to transfer to my daughters new iPad Air that was purchased during Christmas last year.  I plugged the iPad into my laptop for the first time and it said to type in the passcode first on my iPad, which I did, and then it gave me an error and now the iPad does not get recognized when I plug it back into my laptop.  I've rebooted a number of times, on both devices, and it still does not work.
    What are my options?
    Thank you very much.

    Hey evolution video,
Thank you for responding with that information. I didn’t realize those links did not pull up information. I am not sure if you have an iPad Air or an iPad Air 2, but both tech specs pages are attached below.

  • Upgrading to new iPad, don't have apple password from apps purchases

I'm trying to upgrade my son's iPad to a newer iPad.
We don't have his mother's apple password, who's now in France,
and has lost that password. She is no help.
The old iPad was originally loaded with apps from her account.
My iMac is now authorized to back-up his old iPad, but we can't get his
    apps purchased from her account.
How do we back-up those app purchases, already on the old iPad, to my iMac,
so we can then load them onto the new iPad?
Can we do it through the iCloud with out her apple password?

You can't without redownloading them from an accessible Apple ID, which may require repurchasing paid applications.

  • Will I lose my unlimited data plan if I upgrade to new iPad

I am grandfathered in to the unlimited data plan on AT&T. Will that carry over to the new iPad? When I sent from iPad to iPad 2 all I had to do was swap my SIM into the new iPad, but wouldn't I need a new SIM for 4G?

You'll need to call AT&T and ask them.
    Regards.

  • Iphone configuration utility upgrade to new ipads?

I have six ipads (all ipad 2 and 3) that I want to replace with the iPad 4. I have the UDID numbers for the old machines.
Here is the issue, the old iPads I do not have access nor are they own the same network. Can I copy the old UDID setup to the new iPad and tell it to setup via wifi? Will I need the person's passcode, if they changed it. Lastly, I am not sure who backs up what information to iCloud vs just using iTunes.
My goal is to give the person the new iPad with their current setup  with photos, notes, documents intact.
    TIA.

So With Exchange, notes, calendar, contacts and email would be present on the Exchange Server and could be restored to the new device when the user enters their credentials.  You could use an IPCU profile on the device to deploy the Exchange server settings.  The user would simply need to enter their login credentials when they receive the device and they could immediately connect to mail.  Perhaps you could have the users transfer their photo's to a home computer.  The photo transfer occurs prior to iTunes sync ( at least in my experience in Windows XP and Windows  7) so they wouldn't need to worry about configuring iTunes settings.  Perhaps any documents could be attached to email and stored in the email system prior to email setup on the new devices.  I know it isn't ideal, but I can't think of another way that would work well, and relatively painlessly. An MDM would allow you to perform many of the tasks described OTA, though photo backup and document transfer would still have to occur manually.

  • Transferring content from apps to new ipad

Sorry if this is the wrong section
I jus bought a new ipad, and i was jus wondering hw to transfer those apps content from old ipad to the new ones.
The contents I was referring to was stuffs like games histories, such as the levels and achievements. (i got a game called bubble mania, and i got quite far in it, i dont wanna redo it all over again. Hahas)
As well as contents in an apps called the "ppstream". (i kinda downloaded 10+ gigabytes of movies in it, so redownloading it is quite a hassle)
I used the backup using itunes, and it does reinstalled all those apps i used, but all the apps are empty so its kinda useless.
Did i did the wrong backup? or are they any more extra steps that needed to be done?
is there any way to make a complete copy of the ipad or clone it to the new ipad?
    Thanks in advance

You have to have a current backup of the old iPad before you restore the new iPad from the backup of the old iPad. Read this and see if it becomes clearer to you. You should probably transfer purchases as well so that all of your bases are covered.
    Transfer purchases.

  • Anyone having problems getting iBooks to download on new iPad?

The iBooks icon appears, but there is an empty bar below it, like the app hasn't loaded, or is paused.
I've restarted iPad, and everytime there are updates, iBooks is listed. But it never loads.
I get the message "Unable to Download Applications "iBooks" could not be downloaded at this time.
I see variations of this question, but none with my exact problem (that I can see).

Instead of using Safari to use mail, try using the built in Mail app. To access your AOL account, go to Settings->Mail->AOL.
That is, if you are using Safari to access AOL.
