Transferring iphone data to itunes on new pc when old pc is dead

HELP!!
Old laptop died and all my info, music, pics etc is saved on my iphone 3GS.
I have icloud, but that only stores purchased content, not anything manually put on from cd's, audio files.
How do I update the itunes on the new laptop with all the content from my iphone?
Without losing my pictures, music that I took ages loading from cd's etc..
I don't want to pay loads for a program that might work.
Apple must have a way of doing this in this modern time of age?
All I want to do is update itunes with my iphone content, not share it with outside programs.
PLEASE HELP

  • Move library to new computer when old one is dead?

Is it possible to access my library on a new computer, when I can't use my old one? Everything I can find on how to change computers requires accessing my old one first, and I can't, because my old computer won't even turn on any more. I can't be the only one this has happened to!?!
I am an old lady and not very computer savvy, and I find the itunes site to be WAY less intuitive than I would've expected.

You either need backups from your old PC, or to be able to turn it on.
Just like any other files on your old PC - digital photos, emails you wanted saved, whatever else - if you don't have a backup, they are gone.
You can ask a PC shop to take out the old hard drive and see if it still works. Maybe the power supply is bad, but the hard drive is still good.

  • Moving songs from iPod to iTunes on new PC when old PC unavailable (stolen)

I know this has to be incredibly easy and I'm sorry for having to ask but I can't seem to find the answer. I have all my music on my iPod. Old computer was stolen and I want to move it to my new computer. What are the steps?
    Thanks in advance.

1). Connect your iPod to your new computer. If it is set to sync automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod.
2). When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you continue to use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
3). Once you are connected and your iPod is safely in manual mode there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. iTunes will only let you copy your iTunes Store purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads and including iTunes purchased songs and in some cases, videos and games) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
4). Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.

  • How to add itunes to new computer when old harddrive crashed and itunes is on 5 computers now

My computer's harddrive crashed and i purchased a new computer but i have itunes on the limit of 5 computers now and cannot deauthorize the broken computer

You should be able to de-authorise all of your computers via your account (which you can do once every 12 months), and you can then re-authorise the computers that you still have and need : authorising and de-authorising

  • Transfer songs to new computer when old computer is dead.

My old computer was destroyed by lightening. I have bought and authorized a new computer, but I cannot transfer any of the songs on the iPod to the new computer. Please Help. Thanks.

You can't sync or drag your music back directly from an iPod to iTunes, the transfer of music is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs but not playlists back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.

  • Synching to new computer when old computer is dead...

I'm sure it's been asked before, but I can't find the answer.
I had all my music on one machine, and about 95% was from CD. About 5% was purchased from iTunes. This machine was a macbook, and the hard drive crashed last week.
I've installed a new hard drive.
1- Can I move the music off my iPod to the new hard drive? Or just the iTunes music?
2- I can't deauthorize the old hard drive, because it's dead.
Outside of ripping all my CDs again (which took me months), how can I get my music off my ipod on to my new machine.
And yes, some of it is backed-up, but the stuff I finished over the last 6 weeks is not.
    Thanks

when we  try to restore a iphone 3 sur Itunes and new Lion we have error 3194 can t restore this iphone what can i do ?
    thanks for your kind help

    1. Update iTunes - latest version is 10.4.1.
    2. Disable ALL security apps (firewall, antivirus/spyware) running on your computer.
    3. Don't try to downgrade the iOS version.  This isn't supported
    4. If you EVER tried to hack thie phone or use apps like tinyumbrella, you may have to edit the hosts file on your computer to remove references to gs.apple.com
    5. If your phone has been hacked (jailbroken, iOS downgrade, or unauthorized unlocking), you may not be able to restore the phone to Apple specs again.
"This device is not eligible for the requested build: Also sometimes displayed as an error 3194. If you receive this error, update to the latest version of iTunes. 3rd party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue, to resolve please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to perform unauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see  iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod; follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store.  Also, using an older or modified .ipsw file can cause this error. Try restoring moving the current .ipsw file aside, or try restoring in a new user to ensure that iTunes downloads a new .ipsw."

    Hi, Shadiamond Murray.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Sometimes a simple power cycle of the router can correct the issue that you are experiencing.  However, the issue could be a little more complex.  Wi-Fi routers need adjustments to settings periodically for optimized performance with the constant progression of wireless device technology.  Below, I have included two articles.  The first article will cover basic Wi-Fi troubleshooting regarding iOS device connection.  The second article cover the recommended settings for current Wi-Fi access points.

  • Transferring data to iTunes on New Laptop using Windows 8.1

I have a new laptop running Windows 8.1. A friend has transferred the data from my old PC, but when I connect my iPod, it opens iTunes but there is no Music Library showing or Apps. I get a warning saying that if I Sync the iPod it will remove all my music from the iPod, presumably this will also happen to my Apps that are on the iPod. I can however see all my music if I go to - This PC-Music-iTunes-iTunes Music, and all my Apps - This PC-iTunes-Mobile Apps.
My friend is unavailable to help. and I am a struggling 75yr old. I am worried that if I try to Sync I will mess up my content on all my other devices - two iPads and an iPhone. Any help please thankyou

See this migrate iTunes library post. You may need to copy over the library again or retrieve your data from your device.

  • Transferring iphone data to new computer

My IBM thinkpad crashed and I had to reboot XP. I downloaded itunes but I can't see how to transfer my music, podcasts, e-mail settings, my outlook contacts and calendar back to the computer. Does anyone have a step by step way to do this? I don't want to erase the iphone data. thanks much, kate

    You don't maintain a backup?
iTunes includes an option to transfer content that was purchased from the iTunes Store from an iPod or iPhone - but this is for content purchased or acquired from the iTunes Store only. Any content - music or video acquired elsewhere that was transferred from iTunes to your iPhone will not be transferred.
With your iPhone connected and available in the iTunes source list, at the menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
The sync process for contact information, calendar events and bookmarks is bidirectional. Be sure to enter at least one contact in Outlook's address book and one calendar event in Outlook's calendar before syncing. Pay attention to any warning messages or prompts provided. If you don't understand or aren't sure about the prompt provided, cancel until you are sure.
You must re-enter your email account setup information in Outlook. The sync process for email account setup information is not bidirectional.
Maintaining a backup of your important data is very important regardless the platform but even more important with a Windows PC due to constant virus, adware and spyware concerns and for a system wide crash as you experienced.
