Transferring iPhone video to Computer

I was finally able to transfer photos/videos from my iPhone 4 Camera Roll to my PC (Windows XP) using Apple Article #HT4083. My issue is that videos under 1 min copied over, but videos over 1 minute get stuck in the transfer process and I end up having to "Skip It" in order to finish the process. Also, once my < 1min iPhone videos transfer over to my iPhotos file under the 'MY PICTURES' folder on my computer, how do I properly transfer them back into my iPhone in the photo albums I choose using iTunes? I moved some of the videos into the folders I created under 'MY PICTURES' along with the photos, but during the Sync process in iTunes, only the photos were transferred back to my iPhone in the newly created album folders, not the videos.

Why should Apple include a utility for this just for Windows users? This is something Microsoft should include with Windows, and I'm pretty sure they do.
There are a number of digital cameras that support capturing photos as well as video. I have a Canon digital camera that I purchased at the end of 2003 which I continue to use that supports capturing photos and video, and I've always used iPhoto for the import, which is included by Apple with OS X.
If the Windows Scanner and Camera Wizard doesn't provide for importing videos that were captured by your iPhone, the driver for your webcam may be the cause of the problem. Have you confirmed if the driver for your webcam is up to date along with all other Windows drivers?

Windows XP cannot import video files larger than 500 MB using Camera and Scanner Wizard. You can transfer these files directly from your device by selecting them in My Computer and dragging or copying the movie files to your computer's hard drive.

Bloggie transfers choppy videos to computer

Has anyone had a problem like mine. Just bought this bloggie touch and was exited to use it, but when I transfered the video to my computer, the image was grainy and choppy. Has anyone else had this problem and how did they resolve it. Thanks in advance

All video transfers regardless how they are recorded (ie., 720P 30 or 60 fps) or 1080P are jerky when played back on realplayer, quicktime, divx, nero, etc players. I tested this on all my machines: desktops (3mhz processor), laptops (2.7mhz processor) a macbookpro (2.2mhz) and a netbook (1.5mhz). In other words this issue is not unique to one computer. Video is great when played back on the bloggie or via hdmi connection to an HD set. If there is no simple explanation for this then this is a MAJOR DEFECT of the Bloggie. I suspect it has to do with codecs used by the device's MP4 coding. Sony infers they are using standard coding. Any comments? I was very excited about this product based on the early reviews but the first product gen. is usually a bad idea:-)

Trouble transferring iPhone videos to iPhoto & iMovie

I use a iPhone 3Gs and wanted to load all of our photos and videos onto our computer. I haven't had any trouble in the past.
I hook my phone to the computer and I first get a message saying no camera found. Iphoto still recognizes my phone and asks me if I want to transfer the photos/videos over. I click yes and I tell it to not transfer duplicates.
The files transfer without a problem, but at the end, I get a message that about 875 videos are unreadable and cannot be transferred. A decent amount of the beginning of videos transfer, but the majority do not.
Then, when I try to transfer the videos over to iMovie, they won't show up?
I don't know what is going on, but I am very frustrated!

I can certainly try - but why isn't it recognizing my phone? I guess I should also say that I just upgraded yesterday to the new 4g - but, I was have the same exact issues with my 3Gs as well...so it isn't phone specific.

I have noticed the same problem. I have taken alot of Iphone 4 videos but when i transfer them to my PC, there is no sound while playing on WM player. However, if i open the videos up using Quicktime, then it is fine..I am currently trying to find a way to solve this problem for Windows b/c i do alot of video editing using windows programs =\.

I need to transfer my old iphone to my new computer so that I can transfer all the contact info, manually downloaded music, notes, and so forth from that phone onto my shiny new iphone.
Is this possible?

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your phone. Only if you back up manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your device without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the iPhone for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.

IPhone 3g S Video to Computer

Does anyone know if video captured on the new iPhone 3G S be transferred to a PC Computer to be edited and burned to a DVD?
Also, would the quality be acceptable or no?

Not to repeat but I have the same issue. Clearly Apple missed something. Two options I'm using.
1. Import from Itunes. Works well but only way to make a U-Turn from iPhone without mobile me. (file, add to library, drop down to media, select movies, scroll to iphoto and select the folder you created to dump all your video in, select it...then select the videos)...now they are on iTunes under your video on Iphone assuming you have selected them to sync.)
2. Post to mobile me on private/protected folder. create shortcut on Iphone to video gallery.

HT201302 Transferring large video from iPad to PC - copying file on computer didn't work

I tried connecting my iPad to the PC and dragging the file. It transfers but the file is empty (0 bytes). I'm running XP and the video is 790KB. I may need to compress it on the iPad before transfer? Any ideas? Going to try downloading to another PC NOT running XP next.
I also tried:
--transferring the video via a USB port but the device wasn't recognized on the iPad
--uploading directly to YouTube via wireless and it shows up there but I can't open the file

Okay, that means with the latest iOS software, it requires the latest version of iTunes on the computer. Which computer OS platform are you using. Now you are saying that after downloading the latest version of iTunes that your iPhone is not being recognized by iTunes? Completely different thing, and the iTunes on the iPhone has nothing to do with that anyway. The iTunes on the iPhone is just for purchases.
If you are having trouble with the iPhone being recognized by iTunes, use the appropriate link for your computer OS for assistance.

You should be able to:
Backup the device to the new windows installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup! (Windows tip). For a Mac use Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner.
