Transferring iTunes account to new name

I just bought a new iMac Intel and a Mac Book Pro. I successfully transferred my iTunes libraries, but I have one problem/question.
With my purchase, I also bought an .Mac account for the first time. I have an iTunes account already, but would like to use the .Mac account for ITunes instead of the older account. How can transfer the authorization from the first account to the new account, and do I need to reauthorize the songs I have on my various Macs? I have two desktops (one is my wife's) and a laptop.
Thanks in advance!

You need to contact Apple here -> http://www.apple.com/fi/support/itunes/store/email/
"I just signed up for .Mac. How do I convert my existing iTunes account to my new .Mac account?
We'll be happy to convert your account for you. Please provide your old account name, your new .Mac account name and your billing address in your email. We will also need your explicit permission to reset your password to complete the conversion."

Try the Store column from iTunes' menu.  There should be a "sign in" or some similar entry there.

  • ITunes account for new iPad2

So I purchased a shiny new iPad2 and when I connected it to my PC I was asked if I wanted to use my existing iTunes account or create a new one.  I decided to create a new one because I didn't want all my photos and music on my Ipad.  I now realize that I want to have both my iPhone and my iPad on the same account.  How do I delete the new iTunes account and get my iPad synched to the existing account?
    Cheers,
    Nik

You can have more than one account authorised on the same iTunes on your computer, but having/using just the one account us usually the best approach.
If you created a new iTunes account then you can log out of it on the iPad by tapping on it in Settings > Store and then log in with the old account. If you bought / downloaded any content with that new account then that content will be tied to that account and it can't be copied or transferred to a different one - so if you want to keep that content you will need to remember the account name and password in order to download any app updates to its purchases and in case you ever need to re-authorise the account again.
As long as you old iTunes account is authorised on the computer's iTunes (Store > Authorise This Computer) that you connect the iPad to (and your content is on your computer), you should be able to sync content from that account to the iPad.

  • Trying to add itunes account for new phone, sharing existing music folder

My wife's phone is already linked to the admin user account on my imac.
I have created another account to use for linking my own iphone 4 to.
I have tried the directions I have found so far for making the folder of our current music available to the new account: I moved the itunes media folder to the public folder, and went to the advanced setting in itunes in both the original account and in the new account, and pointed itunes to the newly located folder - music only shows in the original account.  Going to itunes with the new account doesn't let me see any of our existing music.
I have not yet added my iphone to the new account.  Will doing so help itunes set itself up?

I recently opened a .Mac account and it appears that Apple totally changed all my previous accounts. All of my accounts where changed even iTunes. Now I can't get into my iTunes account with the old name nor the new .Mac either. I have a balance to my iTunes account and no way to find it. Does anyone have any idea how to send an e-mail to iTunes or figure a way to find my old account?

  • How to transfer itunes account to new macbook and ipad

I have an itunes account which is linked with my iphone..  I have recently gotten a new macbook and ipad.  Is it possible to transfer from my current account to these new devices?  I do not have my old macbook which the itunes account originated from, only my iphone.  Do I have to create a new account?  Everytime I go to backup my iphone it says it will wipe out what is on it!!! I have  hundreds of songs, videos, apps etc etc etc.
    Thanks

    1) authorize iTunes on your new Mac for your iTunes store account (the one you used to purchase from the iTunes store)
    2) connect your iPhone and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it (as well as you iPad).

  • Transferring itunes accounts

There is probably a really easy answer to this but I'm completely green at this...
I have a mac book with my itunes account on it and the machine is also sync with my iphone. I need to return my laptop to my friend and have bounght a new Imac. Can I set up my existing itunes account with my new imac? I'm not too worried about transferring the files I can reload those later but I wanted to avoid setting up another account as it's already sync with my iphone. is that possible? or do I set up a new account on my Imac and then how do I put this on my phone?
    Many thanks.

Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Start iTunes with the option key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.

  • 2 itunes accounts on new computer help

Hello I recently purchased a new hp laptop with windows 8.  Im sharing it with my girlfriend and we both have our own itunes accounts.  I followed all the instructions I found online in order to use them both.  I created a seperate username for her and a seperate itunes library.  I signed in under her account, downloaded her music with her itunes name into her library and now when i sign into my name on the same computer with my itunes account it says i have to wait 90 days.  Is there anyway around this?  Please help!!  thanks!!

Use two distinct Windows user accounts/logins.  iTunes will then by default create and manage separate iTunes libraries for each user, storing these in:
    C:\Documents and Settings\user1\My Documents\My Music\iTunes and
    C:\Documents and Settings\user2\My Documents\My Music\iTunes
It is a good idea to disable fast user switching so that different users are not attempting to run iTunes at the same time.
It is also possible to set up distinct libraries under a single user login; to create a second library hold down SHIFT while starting iTunes, and when you see this prompt:
click on Create Library... and choose the location you want the second library to be in.  By default:
the first (original) library will be located at C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes
the second (new) library will be located at C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes 1
In this case each user will have to SHIFT-start iTunes, click Choose Library... in the prompt above, and select the correct library.

  • How do I access my original iTunes account on new MacBook?

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro. I have my original iTunes account set up on my old laptop, which I am unable to even turn on because it needs to be repaired (which I really have no intention of doing now).  How do I access my old iTunes account/downloads to be on my new Mac?  There was a message that read something to the effect of "cannot have your iTunes account set up on more than one computer," I think.  I'm not even able to sync my iPod to my new Mac without risking losing all of the content that is on my iPod.  I have iTunes open on my Mac, am able to send downloads there, but I do not think I am signed in (they are all NEW downloads, nothing old from old laptop).  PLEASE HELP!!  Thanks in advance.

  • How to transfer single device from one iTunes account to new iTunes account on another computer?

I have been successfully using a single iTunes account to sync & back-up two different iPhones.
One of those iPhones belongs to a now ex-boyfriend (no longer living with me), and naturally he would like to transfer the back-up data for his device to a new iTunes account (Apple ID) on a different computer.  While ongoing be able to sync, backup and update software for his iPhone on his computer.
    Is this possible?
I understand that recovery of the current media on his phone (i.e. apps, music, photos, etc.) that are all stored on my computer through my iTunes account will likely not be possible, but he doesn't want to erase all the important data/content (i.e. contacts, calendar, etc.) on his iPhone without being assured that a previous back-up can be successfully restored using his new iTunes account/library.
I'm aware of the back-up location & files for his device and can provide those to him on an external USB drive, but can someone please advise exactly how the restoration/procedure should work?  Or is there an alternative?

That's kind of a strange way to things, even if it's what Apple told you to do.
    Do this.
    - Access your *local* library
    - Go to iTunes->Preferences->Advanced
    - Select "Copy Files...." and "Keep iTunes Media File Oroganized"
    - Locate the files you want on the external disk
    - Drag them into the "Library" area of your sidebar
This will put the files in your local library and copy them to your MB.
They will still be on your external hard drive. You will have to separately delete them from that library if you want to.
