Transferring memopad data to mac computer
When I connect my Blackberry to my macbook to transfer notes in memopad - the notes are deleted and can not find them on my macbook. Where are they or what have I done wrong?
The notes may be sync'ed with the note pad in the Mail App on your MacBook. You might look there.
P.S. I haven't even tried to sync notes yet! (Nor have I worked up the courage to try it!)

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

My IBM thinkpad crashed and I had to reboot XP. I downloaded itunes but I can't see how to transfer my music, podcasts, e-mail settings, my outlook contacts and calendar back to the computer. Does anyone have a step by step way to do this? I don't want to erase the iphone data. thanks much, kate
You don't maintain a backup?
iTunes includes an option to transfer content that was purchased from the iTunes Store from an iPod or iPhone - but this is for content purchased or acquired from the iTunes Store only. Any content - music or video acquired elsewhere that was transferred from iTunes to your iPhone will not be transferred.
With your iPhone connected and available in the iTunes source list, at the menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
The sync process for contact information, calendar events and bookmarks is bidirectional. Be sure to enter at least one contact in Outlook's address book and one calendar event in Outlook's calendar before syncing. Pay attention to any warning messages or prompts provided. If you don't understand or aren't sure about the prompt provided, cancel until you are sure.
You must re-enter your email account setup information in Outlook. The sync process for email account setup information is not bidirectional.
Maintaining a backup of your important data is very important regardless the platform but even more important with a Windows PC due to constant virus, adware and spyware concerns and for a system wide crash as you experienced. -
Need help transferring iPod data to iTunes (computer virus wiped me out)
The AIM virus wiped my computer out last week and my help desk restored everything but my music. I've got all the tunes on my iPod but can't figure out how to transfer the music back into iTunes on my rebuilt laptop. Any way to do this? Your help is much much appreciated!

However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the files from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.

Transferring all data from one computer to another
Hi,
I have an iMac and a Macbook Pro - I would like to completely switch the data on the two computers. In other words, I'd like to put everything that is on my macbook on the iMac, and vise versa. I have backed both computers up using Time Machine, but I'm not sure what the best way is to do the swapover. Any ideas? I want to do more than just add the data from one to another, I want to completely wipe out the imac and install the macbook data on it, and completely wipe out the macbook and install the iMac data. Any ideas?What I would do is to move all the apps music and other media to the new cmputer. Make sure the computer is authorized for the iTunes account(s) and iTunes logged into the progler account. Then connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up. Restore the iPod from that backup.

You might now create a new temporary user account. Log into the new account. Do the panics still occur?
I would also visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on diagnosing kernel panics. Sometimes they can be difficult to track down. Looking at each new panic log would help determine if it's cause is associated with the same extensions. -
The pc that I used to download CD music to into my itunes library was stolen and I had no backup. I have all my itunes music on my iphone and ipod. can i have music from music from my iphone or ipod transferred to my mac computer through itunes?
I have a similar problem. I recieved an IPAD for my birthday, and my daughter updated my itunes library so i can use it with the ipad...and somehow all my songs (unpurchased from itunes, and downloaded from a large collection of CDs) ...and play lists were deleted. I still have them on my old ipod, and wonder how to get them back onto my computer so I can redistribute some of them to the ipad. I must be getting too old for this tech stuff, it gets less user friendly every year.

How are you transferring the data? Migration Assistant? How do you have the computers connected (wifi, Ethernet hub, FireWire, etc.)?
You may want to cancel the transfer and just see what data was transferred. You can always begin again if not all data has been transferred.

HI Guys I have recently asked to transfer my Windows creative suite to a Mac computer. I received the serial number but unlike my lightroom install disc, which is win and mac, my Creative Suite disc is windows only, how do I go about installing a Mac version of my creative suite onto the Mac computer?
I am talking about the Ver 3 download link that came with the purchase email.
That link is no longer available. Use "Migration Assistant" to copy your Applications from your old mac to the new Mac, then immediately run software update. Aperture Version 3.2 will not run on your new mac with Mavericks, you will have to Upgrade to version 3.4.5 at least - you can download this update from the Support page: Aperture 3.4.5
Then launch Aperture and enter your registration key and try now too update from version 3.4.5 to 3.5 from the AppStore. The AppStore will change your Aperture registration to an AppStore version, so you will able to reinstall by downloading from the AppSTore in future.
If you want transfer only Aperture and no other applications, do it manually: You will have to copy not only the application but folders from the libraries as well:
/Applications/Aperture.app
/Library/Application Support/Aperture/
~/Library/Application Support/Aperture/

I transferred the data from my old 2006 MacBook Pro 17". Thanks for the help on that. I thought that I was doing it right. Used a backup hard drive and time machine. Problem: Now my new macbook air thinks it is the old machine and that the remote disc is the mb air. Clicks want to take things to mobile me instead of iCloud, old applications launch instead of the new ones. How do I fix the mess I have made? Like I said before, I am a software user and don't really know what I am doing when I start into the guts of the software, but I am able to learn. Thanks for any help.
iTunes- How to move the library to an EHD
After you move the library you need to open iTunes by first depressing the OPTION key then launching iTunes. You will be given a choice of which library to use. This can then be made a permanent change, if you wish, in the Advanced section of iTunes preferences. -

Thanks!Did you use Migration Assistant? If you set up your new Mac first, you created a user account and when you used MA later, it transferred over the old one. The only way to avoid that is to use Setup Assistant at the beginning of the setup. I used MA once and spent a long time getting rid of duplicates - you can either do that manually or start over: use recovery (Command + R or Command + Option + R keys) during startup, go to Utilities > Disk Utility, erase your disk and download/install again. While going through the setup, use Setup Assistant - it will port over your one and only user account rather than create another.
