Transferring Messages and associating with Contact...

My old phone is a Nokia N70 and I've had my new N95 for about 2 weeks now.
I'm trying to transfer the text and multimedia messages from my old phone to my new one, but I am having limited success. If I backup the old phone's messages using PC Suite and then restore them to the new one, the messages are transferred BUT the "From" line appears as the mobile number that sent the message, not the name from the address book.
I have already transferred the contacts correctly (using the utility supplied with the phone) so the relevant address book entries are there.
Is there any way to force the phone to associate the numbers with names in a messaging folder or is it just happening, as far as I can tell, when a message is received? If I receive a text from an unknown number and then "Save to Contacts" it still doesn't update the "From" line to show that new Contact name.
I'm sure my old 6230 used to have this functionality - if it's not possible it seems like a backward step (similar to the lack of a 'year' for an anniversary on the calendar so the phone just knows the date of one, not how old someone is or how long they've been married, etc!).

Braden, after inporting your contacts and opportunities use the "Opportunity Contact Role" import to make the association by using the opportunity external unique ID and the contact external unique ID.

Single click on the Home button. Then double click on the Home button. In the recently used row, touch and hold the Contact app till they start to wiggle and then tap the minus sing by the contacts app.
Also make sure the Contact program on your computer is closed.

Message log not correctly associated with contact

I'm having an issue where I cannot text message a particular contact or phone number. A series of steps I took seems to have exposed a glitch where the message log will not corrrectly associate itself to a newly created contact. So now when I push the SMS button on the new contact, nothing happens. Also when I manually start a new text message and add the contact to the text message and press send, the message clears from the text box and nothing else happens.
Here is how you reproduce the error:
1. I called a number and quickly hung up, just as you would do to log a number for saving later.
2. From the call log, I clicked on the SMS button to send a text message.
3. I sent a text message.
4. From the text message log, I clicked on the number at the top to save it to contacts.
5. I saved a new contact with the number.
6. If you go back to the message log, you should notice that the message log header does not update with the new contact's name. Instead it will still show the number.
7. Finally, I went to the test contact and pressed the SMS button and nothing happens.
After you add the contact like I did, it seems that the contact does not correct connect itself with the message log.
After step 5, go to the message log and click on the message log header which should still be the number. When you do this, you would think it would open up the new test contact info card, but instead it opens up a new contact card, as if the number is not saved to a contact yet. It gives me the option to Add To Contacts at the bottom.

I have the same issue. I started not being able to text only one person. I go to the contact and click on the "SMS" button and it doesn nothing. If I try to send the message directly to the number it just doesn't do anything, the message leaves the text box, but doens't show up in the conversation window. I'm not exactly sure what I did to do this, but I think it's because I added the same contact twice. Once from my incoming calls, and once from my outgoing texts. I've tried deleting all references to this number (ie the contact info, incoming/outoing calls and texts) but nothing has worked. It must be the corrupt contact thing as well.

You weren't the only one that wanted the full screen photos back. There were a lot of complaints and they are back in iOS 8 but that doesn't help you with iOS 7.1.2 unfortunately.

I recommend trying to sync your music again using iTunes. When you have your iPhone connected to iTunes, I recommend checking the Music tab to verify that Sync Music is checked. Switching iPhones and problems with contacts

I upgraded my iPhone so I am giving my old one to my boys. I was able to sign into iMessage and FaceTime with their apple id, but I can't remove my phone number. This doesn't seem to be a problem except when I change the contacts on one phone, it automatically changes it on the other phone. No matter which phone is changed, it changes the other one. I don't know if this is because the phone number is still associated with the old phone or not but that is the only thing I can figure out. Thanks for your help!

I figured it out! I had to delete account in he iCloud settings. I was scared to hit this button because I deleted my backup once and lost all my apps. Deleting the account is different I guess. Now my old phone is not linked to the new phone.

Storing PDF output in Opentext and associating with BP

Hi - We have installed Opentext doculink and performed all the BASIS configrations succesffully. I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to proceed with the following:
* When a PDF is generated using output determination (emailed to a BP) we want to store the PDF in Opentext and associated it to the BP
* Want to be able to retrieve the PDF from the BP.

Where can I find detailed instructions on transferring message and call logs ?

I failed to find good info on this using search etc. I switched from Droid X to Galaxy Note 3 recently. On Verizon Cloud, it tells I have the logs uploaded but my Galaxy Note 3 does not display them and I am unable to download the logs into my new phone from Verizon Cloud. Thank you Tominque. Here is the update: I misunderstood the restore phone option as going to factory settings after I had used my phone for a few days and feared to touch it. However, later I saved some of the stuff on my phone and took a chance after talking to one of your helpful reps and it worked. I got my messages and call logs into my phone, happy ending. It would be nice if there is a little more explanation on the Verizon Cloud.

Attribute Dimension and association with multi level base members

I am trying to associate attribute dimension members with base members that can be at different levels (level 0 or level 1 or level 2 ).
First question - Is that possible ? Second how do I do that.
I am building the dimensions(base and attribute) members first and then trying to associate.
I get the following error message :
Base member (xxxxxxx) association level does not match base dimension association level
The base dimension looks like
Supplier
|-----Supplier Group
|---------Supplier ID (Associate this member to an attrbiute dimension)
|---------------Invoice Number
Sometimes the Supplier ID may not have a Supplier Group or an Invoice Number (hence it can be a level 0 or directly under the dimension name - Gen2)
The Attrbute Dimension looks like

|---Medium
|---Low

First to clarify, base mambers by definition would all be level 0 members, but to your question, attributres can only be associated to a single level within a dimension. your problem is sometimes the supplier is level 0 and other times level 1. This can't be done.

Move photo from message and add to contacts

A friend sent a photo as a text message, now I would like to add it to her contact information. I saved it to the "saved file in the text message app, but still can't see how to move it to the contact photo. When I open the contact edit screen and choose the blank photo, it gives me only two choices, Camera or Photos. I choose photos but I can't find the "saved text message photo on my TREO 680.
The other choice is to "add to contact" which creates a new contact and then I would have to move all her information over. I would think there would be a simpler way.
Any hints?

Those two fields should not be flashing. Do they flash on every contact?
Also if you turn on Airplane mode does it still flash?

Did you really think that you'd be able to multiply a number by an array?
Perhaps you meant to do something like
total = quantity * cost[lastElt];

IPhone 4S updated to ios 7.1.2 update and problems with contacts

I have and iPhone 4S and updated to iOS 7.1.2. I now find I can't add new contacts or notes because the keyboard doesn't appear? Has anyone had a similar problem and is there a solution that doesn't mean waiting until the new iOS update later in the year?

I found this tip on the internet which suggested a hard reboot might solve the problem. It worked for me.
Press and hold the Home button and the on/off button at the same time for a few seconds - the phone will shut off (apple logo appears then the screen goes black). Then turn the phone on again which boots up the home page screen. I logged in and the keyboard now appears as usual when adding phone contacts.
Hope this solves your problem too. Interesting to discover there is more help with fixing this bug elsewhere on the internet than from Apple Support who provided the update in the first place!
