Transferring music from different computers

I'm trying to help a friend get her CD's transferred to her iPad. She has her iPad registered with an iTunes account at home, and I don't want to change that. Is there any way that I can use my iTunes to transfer her music to her device? She is not tech savvy and I'd like to avoid her having to learn to use iTunes at this point.
When I tried to put music on her iPad, iTunes said it would have to erase the content associated with her other computer, and I didn't know the extent of what that would erase, or what would happen when she next connects to iTunes on her home computer. There must be some support doc that explains how to manage this?

Hi karenr,
Your friend needs to manage her iTunes library / files between her own computer and her iPad.

  • HT1202 My iPod is set to manually manage music. I have tons of different music from different computers on my iPod. Unfortunately my iPod is getting old and I'd like to purchase a new one. Is there any way I can transfer all the music to a new iPod?

My Ipod touch is set to manually manage music. I have put music from my computer and iTunes account onto it, and music from other people's computer and iTunes accounts on it. Unfortunately I dropped my iPod and the screen cracked. It still plays music and everything just fine, but it has problems with it's battery life so I'd like to just get a completely new iPod nano. Is there any way I can transfer all the music from my iPod touch onto a new iPod nano? From what I can tell it won't let me sync any of the music on my iPod touch that is from other people's computers onto my laptop, and so I wouldn't be able to put it on a new iPod nano. Hopefully that makes sense. I'd just really really like to be able to keep all that music and not lose 2/3 of my iPod touch music library because I want to put it on a newer Ipod.

  • Transfering music from different itunes accounts with different ids...

I am trying to transfer music from one itunes account, set up on old computer to a new itunes account set up on new computer. The problem is it is two different ids.  How can I transfer all of my older music to this new account?

You cannot transfer music from one acount to another.
However you can authorise the 2nd computer to play the other id music
Ctrl B to show top menu
    Store > Authorise this computer...
Then you can copy the music over to your itunes and it will play on your machine

  • How do you transfer music from different computers to your ipod?

I have two computers that are configured to my ipod. Because one is usually in the shop being fixed I have a problem when I purchase music on the secondary computer and want to transfer it to the main computer. It will transfer to my main computer through a cd but it requires that locate on the harddrive. It will play on the computer once I locate it but it won't tranfer to the ipod when syncing. Any suggestions?

If the music you want to move from computer A to computer B is on your iPod the job is easy. There are free and shareware programs that transfer music from the iPod to your computer. Check out your favorite download site.

  • Adobe Presenter: working from different computers transferring files

I am using Adobe presenter. I need to work from home, so have copied my powerpoint and all its associated adobe presenter audio files from one location to another. I used to be able to do this without problems. However, it seems I'm no longer able to do it: I open powerpoint and go to the adobe presenter toolbar and try to record more audio and clearly the system shows no audio is associated with this file. Getting out of adobe presenter makes the system delete the folder with associated audio files (it seems it is not linking them properly, but still recognising them as adobe presenter audio files and deleting them as if to start recording from scratch).
Can anyone help? how can I work on the same files from different computers without losing the data (or the links) in between?
    Regards,
    Gabriel

    Hi folks
One way to achieve this easily is by using DropBox. This will create a folder that you sync to the cloud. Then you create a Dropbox on the second computer and whatever you change and save is automatically updated and transferred to the other computer keeping them in sync. Works really well.
    Cheers... Rick

How do I transfer music from different iTunes accounts on different computers?

Move the song files to the desired computer and then either drag them into the library in the open iTunes application window or the Automatically Add to iTunes folder. If this would cause the single library to have content from more than five Apple IDs, you may not be able to sync it to an iPod or iOS device.

  • Transferring music from itunes on to a different iphone

transferring music from itunes on to a different iphone, why doesn't it work?

Perhaps you can provide some additional details as to your issue then you'll get some helpful responses.
I sync music from iTunes on my PC to multiple iPhones/iPod/iPad without issue. What are you trying to do exactly?

  • How can i sync music from different computer without losing pictures??

my phone randomly "deleted" all of my music. It all shows up in itunes when I plug it into a computer. The only problem is MY compuer is currently out of commision and wont be fixed for at least a month. What Im trying to do is plug it into my friends computer and get music from her iTunes but when i go to move over specific songs a little window pops up that says my iphone can only be synced with 1 itunes at a time and that the current content will be erased if i do this. Im just not sure if this means all of the music content or all of the content including apps, pictures, etc.
all i need to know is how can i put music onto my iphone from someone elses itunes without losing my pictures or affecting any other content on my phone?

Did they change that or is it just that way for iphone? because I know when i had an Ipod classic.. or whatever theyre called.. I could definitely get music from mulitple computers. I had music from at least 4 different itunes accounts when I had that ipod.

  • Transferring music from iphone to pc

Purchased/Downloaded music from itunes to iphone - how can I sync / upload music to PC to back up?

Saw your post about transferring music from iPhone. I guess I am a total dweeb; I cannot understand Apple's instructions.
I have two identical PCs. Have same version of iTunes on each. iPhone 3GS with 4.01 OS. I cannot figure out how to transfer the 5400 songs on my iPhone into my iTunes library without erasing the 2500 songs (different titles which came from a Dead Dell) that are already there. Any advice would be super appreciated.

  • Transfering music to other computers

I was wondering how i could transfer my music to different computers with my ipod without having to delete all of my songs on the ipod in order to transfer them?

Uh, there's lots and lots and lots of ways to do it now, even more than before.

iTunes: How to move [or copy] your iTunes library to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 - Follow some of the steps here, except most of this applies to transferring to a new computer not an external drive so you need to ignore or change some steps, but first follow some of the steps in https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201625 about consolidating but ignore some of it because it really concentrates on backing up a library which is best done as part of a whole computer backup. In all honesty these documents are truly bewildering and can leave you in a hopeless jumble if you are trying to do is move a library and use it on a different drive.  -- if you really want to do something like this ask us and we can provide simpler instructions.
Copy files to a flash drive. Put into other computer and drag to iTunes.

  • TRANSFERRING MUSIC FROM IPOP TO PC

I had a hard drive crash and I lost all my dowloaded music from I Tunes library. I am trying to determine if there is a way to transfer my music collection from my nano to my new pc (Inspiron 531 deskstop). I shudder at the thought of re-loading 75 CD's individually back onto my pc as I really don't want to try that. Please help! Thanks! Gary

For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
Find out how to do that here.
How to copy iTunes purchases from an iPod to a computer.
For all other non purchased content (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it is a little more involved than other methods.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
    SharePod is also freeware.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists.
There is also CopyTrans. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.

i just got a new computer, and before i got my new computer my old one got messed up and i lost all my files. So is there a way that i can take the contents of my ipod and just transfer them to my new computer so that i may continue to add new stuff to it?
