Transferring music from my Ipod 3rd gen to my Computer
There are songs on my device that I would like to transfer to my Itunes computer account (they were from an old computer that I no longer have.)
How do I do this as sync says it will delete the songs from the device and replace them with the ones in my library?
Thanks alot!
It will delete everything. The ipod touch is not a backup device.
You should move your music from the old computer to the new one before you sync. You can use your backup copy for this - external drive, DVD,cd's, flash drive, etc.
The ipod touch will sync with one computer at a time and the music sync is one way - computer to ipod.

I transfered music from my ipod to a new itunes library (new PC). The music plays in itunes but when I sync my ipod and try to drag songs from the itunes library to the ipod it wont load. It shows a circle with aline through it.
Have you selected manually manage music?

What is the name of the $20 program that has a red itunes icon that transfers music from your ipod to itunes?
I second the whole iTunes folder approach.
If for some reason you have split the media folder from the library files then the media folder needs to restored to the same path it used to have while the library files can be copied into the music folder of your new profile.
If in dobut, backup up the entire Documents and Settings folder before wiping the infected drive, but be selective about what you restore as many viruses drop active components capable of reinfecting the compuer in the temp folders and internet caches. It is much easier to backup more than you need than to discover after the fact that you no longer have access to some vital project you'd been storing in a folder on the desktop.

How do i play music from my ipod shuffle gen 4 on external powered speakers
Can I play music from my IPOD shuffle gen 4 using external powered speakers? If so, how do I hook it up?
First a curiosity question. Why do you want to play through the computer? Why not use headphones?
Ok, now to your question. I have never done this before, but this intrigued me. I did some experimenting and got it to work. Here is what I did:
1) Connect Touch to computer.
2) Open iTunes.
3) Your device will show up in the left panel.
4) Click the little triangle next to your device to expand it.
5) You now have access to the different content on the Touch.
I have played stuff from Music, Movies and my playlists. Everything works the same way as if it was on your PC.
Hope that helps and good luck! -

I just got a new computer and I downloaded the itunes library but I don't know how to transfer my music from my ipod touch into a new computer. Has this happened to anybody before, if so, please share some ideas. This will help me a lot since I haven't added any songs into my ipod for almost a month now!!! =(

How do I transfer the music from my IPod to my new IMac computer? I just changed from a PC to IMac. 95% of the music on it is from CD's I own and the ITunes on the new IMac is only recongnizing the ones I bought off of ITunes.
That is correct. The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases.
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one. -
Do I need to download my music from my ipod touch onto my new computer through itunes before downloading new music onto my ipod?
