Transferring music from pc to iphone

I am using iTunes 11.0.1 and have my iPhone set up for automatic downloads, as well as for my iTunes on my pc. However, I cannot transfer my music purchased on my pc to my iPhone. When I go into 'My iPhone' and click on 'Music' it will allow me to sync music, but I don't need my music from my iPhone to my pc. That is not the issue. It will allow me to take everything off of my iPhone and sync from pc to iPhone, but I just want one stupid song from my pc to transfer to my phone.

You have a few things going on that are not clear.
You can import your music into iTunes from the iTunes File menu, Import to Library. You can select a folder or a set of tracks. You do not have to import them individually. You can also just drag a folder of music and "drop" it on iTunes.
You can then, if you want to, copy your music to the iTunes folder. You don't have to, but if you want to go to File/Library/Consolidate Library.
If it says that music cannot be found this means that the music file has been moved since it was last played in or imported into iTunes.
To sync your music to your iPhone you can connect your phone to your computer, click on its name in iTunes, then either check "Manually Manage music and videos" in iTunes and drag your music onto your phone, or, what I think is much easier, UNCHECK this option, then click on the Music tab. Select the music you want on the phone, then click Sync.

If it's music you purchased from the iTunes store, you can just re-download it from the store. If it's music you acquired from other sources, and you don't have a backup of it (since it had to be synced to the phone from your computer to begin with) then you'll have to purchase 3rd party software to try and extract it or re-rip the original CDs.
If it was ripped from CDs and you no longer have possession of the original CDs, then you don't own the music.

Have you ticked the 'Sync Music' box on the Music tab in iTunes ?

Hi! Wondering if you could help: I can play in Itunes the music I download. But when i decide to transfer these songs from Itunes to my Iphone 4 by draging it, like I always did before, it doesn't work. By the way I just bought a new laptop and downloaded Itunes on it. hi, your message is kind of old and you've probably already figured out how to transfer the music. i just read some of the replies to you and see that no one mentions the "Autofill" option so i wanted to let you know--just in case it might help you to do things a bit less complicated. i had the same problem with the new version of iTunes (11.0) and discovered the best way to transfer your music is to add it to your iTunes library like you usually do and click on the "Autofill" button at the bottom so the music is transferred without problems. You still won't get to keep your playlists (I know right? ******* genius whoever came up with this brilliant idea...) and you must make sure you're "auto-filling" the music from the recently added list, otherwise it will just transfer music from a different location.

I'm having trouble moving music from iTunes to my iPhone. I have looked for answers everywhere, and it all says to create a playlist and select the playlist to transfer. However, my iTunes won't let me do that. It will only let me sync everything, replacing all my music on my iPhone. Help!

Create a playlist and add the songs you want on your iPhone.
Plug in the iPhone and select it in iTunes.
Click the Music tab.
Tick Sync music.
Select *Selected playlists* in the drop down box and tick the playlists you want to sync to the iPhone.

HT1386 Help transferring music from itunes to iphone 5

On my new lap top I can't transfer music from my itunes library to my iphone 5 by dragging it to the right onto the the iphone icon. When I try to do so, it doesn't do the blinking thing and sync for some reason. I also don't want to press the "manually manage" box because then I would lose all the music on my iphone (including music I previously got from CDs and such) that isnt on this new laptop's itunes (because when I got this new itunes the only music that synced was the music on my phone that I purchased from itunes). If there's a way to transfer ALL the music from my iphone to this new laptop's itunes then I would just press manually manage, have it erase all my songs, and then just sync them again, but I don't know if that's possible. Any tips/advice?

Chances are you need to stop the Apple Mobile Device service, then restart iTunes. Syncing should work at this time. Follow these steps to stop the Apple Mobile Device Service.

I have an iPhone 3gs with lots of downloaded and purchased music on it and want to transfer all this to an iPhone 5. The trouble is I don't have a PC at the moment so I cannot use the USB cable to sync etc in itunes. Is there another way to get all this music transferred?

The first thing I would suggest is to transfer your purchases from the iPhone 4 to your computer.
Your post doesn't indicate what type of computer you have, but here is the basic information:
iTunes 10 for Windows: Transfer purchases from your iPod, iPhone, or iPad to an authorized computer
Next, I would suggest backing up your iPhone 4 to iCloud or iTunes and restore your new iPhone with that backup.

Transferring music from iphone to new iphone

So, say I'm West Coast guy and in the East Coast visiting family. Had a iPhone 5s and just got a new iPhone 6. Figured I could backup my iPhone 5s on brother's iMac and then restore it to the new iPhone 6. Most of it went OK, except I've got some of his apps and a few other things - but I did not get any of my music over to the new iPhone 6. Most all my music was imported into my iTunes from CDs and then onto my iPhone 5s.
Question: any way to get my music back onto the new iPhone 6, or will I have to resynch when I get home?
Is there a better/cleaner way to transfer settings/content from one iPhone to another new one, other than backup and restore from iTunes?

Saw your post about transferring music from iPhone. I guess I am a total dweeb; I cannot understand Apple's instructions.
I have two identical PCs. Have same version of iTunes on each. iPhone 3GS with 4.01 OS. I cannot figure out how to transfer the 5400 songs on my iPhone into my iTunes library without erasing the 2500 songs (different titles which came from a Dead Dell) that are already there. Any advice would be super appreciated.

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your phone. Only if you back up manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your device without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the iPhone for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.

I have a problem with trasferring music from Itunes to Iphone and that is,
as soon as I finish transferring music to my Iphone, Itunes suddenly stops at the stage of where it says (at the top-centre of the screen), 'Sync Min's Iphone'.
Due to this reason, I've restored my Iphone a couple of times and reinstalled itunes but same problem occurs whenever I try to transfer music.
It appears music are successfully transfered since I could play the music on my Iphone but I wanna fix the problem since it's pretty annoying.
is there anything I can do about it?

Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes (8.2.1?). If so, I'd reinstall iTunes, if the phone is otherwise working fine.

I am having the same problem however i get a error 13001 message and my itunes says that there is music in my iphone but there really isnt.. any one have a solution???
