Transferring new iphone
I have friend who just purchased a iphone 4s and wants to transfer all data from his 3gs. He doesn't have a computer and wants to do it on my computer. Can he just sign into his itunes account on my computer, backup his old iphone and then restore to his new phone without any issues?
That means his phone has NEVER been backed up or synced with anything. This is not necessarily a simple process. A simple backup and restore will result in data loss.
If he wants to use your computer to do it, set up a completely separate user account for him on the computer. He will have a unique copy of iTunes so you don't risk hosing your data.
Do some research on here and elsewhere. First. Better yet, encourage him to. DO NOT take responsibility for his data!

I just received a new iPhone 5 for my 2-year upgrade but am considering selling or giving to one of my kids for Christmas since money's tight. I'd still like to keep my 2-year plan.

I would go back to the store and try to talk with the same person who helped you the first time to see if they can help.
In Settings>iTunes and App Store, do you see your Apple ID or the other one?
And did you previously have an iPhone or did you have a different kind of phone?

Transferred from iPhone 3GS to 4. Backed up and restored smoothly. Still getting a "no service" message in the upper left corner of new phone. Help?.....
Sounds like your iPhone was hacked to unlock and now updating locks back to the original carrier.

My macbook pro recently got swiped and I lost all my data, problem is, just before it was swiped I set up my new iphone 5 which transferred all my photos and music over which is no longer on the computer. What will happen to my phone if I plug it in?
I never used icloud before so there is no data to back up from. I just spoke to the apple store and they said that if I do plug it in, all the data will be swiped....is there a program I can use to transfer my data from my phone to computer without loosing it all ???

Where, exactly, did you read anything from Apple that suggested that iCloud Photostream was permanent storage? -
I have transferred data from my old iphone 3 to my new Iphone 5c via iTunes. Following syncing only the Apps, some notes and no photos have tranferred. I need to retrieve the other data what do I do?

Doesn't sound like your restored from your backup, otherwise pics in your camera roll would've transfer over.

Hi i have got a new iphone 5s. I had a ipnone 4 backed it up to my computer. Ipurchased a few tones & had them on my old phone I have backed up all on the new phone everything has transfered over eccept my tones how can I get them on my new phone.

Transferring music from iphone to new iphone
So, say I'm West Coast guy and in the East Coast visiting family. Had a iPhone 5s and just got a new iPhone 6. Figured I could backup my iPhone 5s on brother's iMac and then restore it to the new iPhone 6. Most of it went OK, except I've got some of his apps and a few other things - but I did not get any of my music over to the new iPhone 6. Most all my music was imported into my iTunes from CDs and then onto my iPhone 5s.
Question: any way to get my music back onto the new iPhone 6, or will I have to resynch when I get home?
Is there a better/cleaner way to transfer settings/content from one iPhone to another new one, other than backup and restore from iTunes?

I was transferring information from my old iPhone to my new iPhone 5S via iTunes and I have completed the process but my phone will not restart, it is stuck in the "Connect to iTunes" screen. Any ideas?

Using Itunes, I copied all my apps from my Ipod touch to a new Iphone 4. Problem is all the apps on the Iphone are starting up like a new install. I would think my "password" app and "lose it" app would have the past data transferred to the Iphone. Is this not possible??

I am using my old iPhone for playlist for my Dad's funeral as that meets the crematorium requirements. Some tracks - uploaded from personal CDs to MacBook Pro and successfully transferred to new iPhone (with small doc) won't transfer on syncing. Most do, but why won't some, of my own music sync when others off the same album and in the same playlist do? I have now checked the storage, freed up 766MB, how can i not sync (and get everything i've just deleted back) but upload the required tunes? All help appreciated, many thanks x x x
