Transferring Non-Purchased music from iPhone to computer.

My Windows computer recently crashed and the hard drive was wiped. I want to transfer all my music from my iPhone 4 to my new computer. I have tried a few of the third party software options and none seemed to work. Also, when I try to activate the "manually manage music and videos" option in the iPhone summary in iTunes, it does not let me unless I Erase and Sync to the new library. Please help..

This is not a feature of the iPhone and iTunes. The iPhone is NOT a backup device.
There are 3rd party utilities that can do what you want.

  • Transferring non-purchased music from iphone to itunes

I've got an iphone with a lot of music I originally transferred from my CDs onto itunes then onto my iphone. My laptop with all my itunes and music on was reently stolen and I don't want to go through the pain of reloading all my CDs. I have managed to transfer purchases from my old account (which I shut down as a result of the theft), but cannot work out how to transfer the CD music from the iphone to the new computer and itunes. It keeps telling me I'm going to wipe the iphone. Any help?

You'll have to use third party software, as Apple makes no provision to do so:

  • Transferring non-purchased music from Ipod to ITunes Library

Can I transfer my music from my Ipod into my ITunes Library I just created on my new laptop? I've been successful at transferring the Purchased Music, but not the music I've downloaded from my CD's into my the ITunes library on my old computer.

Hi .. we do this all the time..if its downloaded music put your music into a folder.. then use the drop down "file" menu and import the folder...its really easy..but you also have to create a path for your music..this is done via "edit" drop down /preferences/advanced.. and tell it where your music folder is... other wise your music wont play... if you are using your own cd,s its even easier just put cd in.. tick selected songs.. and import cd

  • Copying non itunes music from iphone to computer

My PC crashed. I purchased a new Window 8 computer and odwnloaded iTune. Apple no longer allows you to sync from iPhone to iTunes. I signed up for iTunes Match but that only put music I purchased in iTunes. Any ideas?

Music has never been synced from the iPhone to iTunes except for music that was purchased from the iTunes Store.
Where is your computer's backup that should include your iTunes library and all other important data such as documents, photos, etc., or was all other important data lost as well?

  • What is the best device to use to import non-purchased music from iphone to ipad?

My problem is that I have a lot of music from CD's, etc. that I did not purchase from itunes that got lost from my computer but I still have on my iphone4.  I want to sync my phone to my ipad so I don't lose this music entirely.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

There are a number of legitimate 3rd party alternatives to iTunes for iOS device content management.

  • I want to tranfer non purchased music from my iphone 4s back onto my PC that I have re-formatted due to errors.

I want to tranfer non purchased music from my iphone 4s back onto my PC that I have re-formatted due to errors.
I have backed up the iphone onto my newly installed version of itunes.
All the purchased albums/songs have been tranferred.
I tried to tranfer by ticking the sync box but its says it will wipe the iphone and replace it with the new library which has only a fraction of my 1000+ songs.
I have read many reviews that say it can be done with a third party program but when I looked into this they offer free evaluation but want about £20 for the program but feel this can be done at no cost.
The itunes is saying my iphone can only be synced to one PC but the original one is wiped.
Am I right in thinking I should go ahead with syncing the iphone then do the restore. Im just worried that once its synced the music and photos/videos will be gone forever.
If I go down this route, I think I still need to know how to tranfer the non purchased songs from my iphone back onto the PC with the newly reinstalled itunes.

Then you will have to purchase 3rd party  software.

No. You will lose the music that's on the phone if you do that.
The iPhone is not a backup device. Restore the music to your computer using the backup you should have made of your data before you re-formatted it. If you didn't back up your computer, you will have to pay for software to try and extract it from the phone.

  • Transferring and backuping music from iPhone to PC

My iPhone have a lot of songs, have taken up so much of my memory,so I want to move these music from iPhone to computer, but it is difficult for me to solve it,this my question, ask for helps!believe you can help me to solve it!

If you want to transfer music from iPhone to computer with iTunes, you may come up with some difficulties. On one hand, as a one-way transfer tool, iTunes doesn’t allow users to copy music from iPhone to computer or iTunes for protecting the copyright of the music; on the other hand, when syncing with iTunes, this software will only maintain the purchased items in your iPhone and try to erase the files that aren’t got from iTunes. Therefore, it will be hard for you to transfer music from iPhone to computer with iTunes.
But if you insist on transferring music from iPhone to computer, you will need a third-party transfer tool to help you. Being regarded as the best iTunes alternative, Coolmuster iPhone iPad iPod to computer transfer provides great help in the file transfers of iPhone, iPad and iPod. With Leawo iTransfer, you are able to transfer music from iPhone to computer within seconds. This transfer software is also powerful for transferring apps, photos, ebooks and many other files among iOS devices, iTunes and PCs. If you want to transfer music from iPhone to computer, Leawo iTransfer is absolutely a good choice.

Best way to transfer mu music from Iphone to computer.

Make sure you phone is logged into the Apple ID you used to purchase this music in Settings>Store.  If it isn't, tap the ID shown, sign out, then sign back in with the ID you used.  You should then be able to see your purchased music on your phone in iTunes>Purchased>Music.  Also be sure you computer is auhorized for this ID in iTunes>Store>Authorize this computer.

You don't.  The music sync is one way - computer to iphone.  the only exception is itunes purchases.
The iphone is not a backup device.

How do I download music from iphone to computer/itunes

Wjosten ... sorry to push in to this discussion ... but I have a related music question ... and thought you might be able to answer.
I know iOS does not enable audio files to be attached to text messages.  I assume this is to prevent illegal sharing of songs.  But who is actually saying 'no.'   Is it the music owners (studios and publishers) who fear they will lose control of copyrighted songs (a la Napster)?  Or is it Apple protecting the iTunes business.  Or both.  I wouldn't blame either ... they are just protecting their IP.  I'm just curious.  I wonder if the music companies suddenly decided to allow some kind of music file sharing via text messages ... would Apple (and Google) go along and enable such sharing on smartphones and devices ??

  • Purchasing music from iPhone

How does it work if I purchase music on iPhones? Will the songs be transfered from iPhone to my computer when I sync? Or will the music download from iTunes to my computer when I open iTunes on the computer?
Is the song quality the same regardless if it is purchased via iPhone or my computer?
    Thanks

If you purchase music on your iPhone it will be the same quality as if you purchase it on your computer. After purchasing the music the next time you sync to your computer the purchased music will be transferred to your iTunes Library and then you can back it up. If your iPhone is set to autosync this will be done as part of the sync, if you are manually managing your music you will have to go into iTunes and direct the transfer of the songs.
It is a good idea to sync ASAP as soon as possible after your purchase, and make sure you are syncing on your computer and you are logged into the same iTunes account that you used to purchase the music on the iPhone.

  • Music from iphone to computer

Hi there, I have synced my iphone to my computer. Bookmarks, contacts, and ical from phone to computer. Worked great..... But.... how do I get my music, movies and photos from my iphone to the computer? When I try to sync this it tells me it will erase my library from my iphone. I don't want to lose this info.

Only music that has been purchased from the iTunes store (be it on your comp or on the iPhone) can be transfered from iPhone to computer.
Its under the file > transfer purchases.
