Transferring Notes from iPod Touch to iCloud (with same dates)

     Hi everyone,
Sorry about the long title, but this question I have is quite an uncommon question (in my opinion, at least). For the past couple years, I've been making periodic notes on my iPod Touch 2nd generation, using the app for a makeshift journal. I like how it shows the date of the entry, as well as how logn ago it was written. Now I've moved on to an iPod Touch 4th generation, with iOS 6 (which has iCloud, unlike 4.2.1). Using iCloud now to make my life more convenient, I want to move all these notes from my iPod touch and my Gmail account to the Cloud but still retain the original date it was created. This means I can't just copy and paste ~44 notes to the iCloud folder on my iPod.
Does anyone know if this could be possible? I really want to keep the date it was recorded, and if I can't then I won't move them. Thanks!

Why do I have to erase everything on my iPad to do this?
You don't or you shouldn't, and everything isn't erased on your iPad in this situation, only iTunes content.
Assuming all apps on your iPod Touch are in your iTunes library, have you had Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes from the start - beginning with the first sync with iTunes for your iPad, or have you downloaded all apps on your iPad direct with your iPad and all apps on your iPad are not in your iTunes library?

I have just got an iPad and I want the music to be transferred through my iPod touch using iCloud but I didn't get the music from iTunes so I don't think it will let me do it. Do you have any tips that could help me?

Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view.
Photos that were synced from a computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from and then re-syncing. If you want to remove them all then normally you could just sync an empty folder (in terms of photos) to the iPad, but as you don't want to sync at the moment you can't do that.
You can reset the iPad back to factory settings and start from scratch with it : Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings

  • Transferring photos from iPod touch to Mac Pro

I used my iPod touch as a hard-drive while on holidays (transferred pictures from my camera to the iPod). When I got back home, I wanted to transfer the pictures to my desktop but my iPod does not show up on the desktop (this option is selected through the finder). The iPod will show up in iTunes and iPhoto, though it was a third party device I used (zoomit) to transfer the pictures as they were on SD cards.
If I could see my iPod on my desktop, I could transfer them manually but I'm at a lost as to how to get it to show up.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

If you were transferring your pictures directly to your touch, that's a new one to me. Normally when you plug your camera or SD card into your Mac, iPhoto opens and you copy your photos there. Photos are transferred via syncing with iTunes to your touch. If that is what you did, then your photos are in iPhoto waiting for you.
As others have said, your touch is not treated as a disk drive like the iPod classic is. The touch is not going to show up on your desktop, it is only going to be seen by iTunes. If you have an iPod classic, there are several ways to transfer your camera contents to the classic.

  • Transferring music from iPod Touch to iTunes?

    Hi--
I was going to put iOS 5 onto my iPod touch, but iTunes mentioned that I could lose all my data. Over half of the songs I have on my iPod are not on my computer, as I lost a large amount of it when my other hard drive died a while ago. They were not iTunes purchases, so I can't automatically put them back into iTunes.
I found this tutorial: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1329 on the Apple support for putting music into iTunes from an iPod, but it specifies that it doesn't work with the iPod touch. Has anyone found a solution to this? All I've seen so far are $20 converting-type programs that generally have iffy reviews. It seems odd that Apple would provide a solution for this problem for everything but the iPod touch.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!
    Kat

Thanks for your answer, you were really helpful. It was such a great use of my time to read it, and the information you provided was very valuable.
Unfortunately, as I am studying abroad in France right now, I had to leave my back up at home. I decided not to mention that, as that was extraneous information as far as the question goes, as well as the fact that I don't want to risk shipping my external hard drive, nor do I want to wait a year before upgrading to iOS5. I was merely wondering if anyone who had encountered this as well had any helpful suggestions -- i.e., free programs they used, or if there was a way of accessing the iPod touch through finder.
Thanks again, though, for taking the time to respond. I really appreciate it.

  • Transferring library from ipod touch to new mac

I am getting so aggravated. I am trying to transfer my old library from the ipod touch to my new 27in mac and it is not completely working. I transferred all of the stuff (movies, music, tv shows) from my ipod to the new mac and some of the movies & tv shows that I have WILL NOT WORK nor will they even transfer to my ipod! It keeps telling me that they are not authorized to play on the new mac, and then I go to authorize the computer (which was already done) and it tells me that 'this computer is already authorized' I am at a loss right now, this is about $50 down the drain, and it wont even let me just watch them on the computer because it is saying "not authorized" Can someone please help me? I don't get why some of the movies and stuff work and the others don't...

  • How does one delete specific photos from ipod touch 2nd gen (with ios 4.2.1)?

I would like to delete some photos from my ipod touch 2g, ios 4.2.1, but I can't just sync it to my (new) computer because then all of them would get deleted because I don't have the photos that I have on my ipod on my new computer. Help!?
    Thanks

    - You can email the ones you want to retain and the restore the the iPod on the the new computer
    - You can use a third-party like PhoneView or TouchCopy (both paid) and maybe the free
iFunBox for Mac | File Manager, Browser, Explorer, Transferer for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch
tio copy them to the computer.

  • Any way to view backed up notes from iPod touch?

I accidentally deleted a note on my iPod touch, but just remembered that it'll probably be in the automatic backup from when I last connected it to my PC.
Is there any way of parsing the backup data to read the note? I don't really care about actually restoring it to the iPod, I'd just like to read it. Perhaps someone's written a 3rd party utility for this? Or maybe the data is in plain text somewhere in the backup files?
Alternatively, is there any way of just restoring this one note without blatting over all other content on the device? If I restore, will it delete more recent notes, or just re-add the older ones from the backup?

if i remember, i read that the notes will not backuped or so. My way is, using the email button in the notes app to send important things to my email account and store them.
second question ... yes were are a lot of third party "productivity apps" in the App-Store to solve your problem in different way, local or throught the web.

  • Transferring music from Ipod touch to new computer

I bought a new computer, downloaded iTunes 10.63, and want to transfer music to that library from my iPod touch. Every time I try to sync the files to the new computer it tries to erase the music I have on there already. Is it even possible to do this or will I just have to load all the music I had on there and allow iTunes to erase the data in the current library?

The right way to transfer your iTunes Library is from the old computer to the new one. iTunes will only give you the option to copy your iTunes Store purchases directly from an iPod to the computer: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
If you purchased music from the iTunes Store, no worries, you can simply download it again with the one caveat that the music is still available in the Store.
For music purchased or obtained from sources other than the iTunes Store, you must obtain it from those sources again. Music is intended to go from your computer to the iPod. Going the other way is contrary to the design and requires the assistance of third party utilities.

  • Transferring content from Ipod Touch Generation 1 to Ipod Touch generation4

I would like to transfer all my apps, songs and pictures and video content to my ipod touch generation 4. What is the best way to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

It is easy. Just sync it to the same computer and the first time you connected the 4G restore it using the backup from your 1G. You should be prompted for that option when you first connect it.

  • Question about transferring apps from iPod touch to iPhone 5

I currently own a 3rd generation iPod Touch. If I buy an iPhone 5, can I download all the apps purchased for my iPod Touch to the iPhone using the same iTunes account?

Yep.  There is no limit to the number of iPods, iPads, and iPhones you can sync to one iTunes library, computer, or iTunes account.

  • New iPod Touch, duplicated albums with same songs in each album?

I was wondering if anyone could offer me some help. I got a new iPod touch today in replacement of my old 8G one, and i transferred all my music okay, but when i went onto my albums option on my ipod, it listed several of the same albums with same songs on them, eg. my Watchmen soundtrack appears at least 7 times, all with the same songs. why is this? and i was it only with some of my music? can anybody help me please?

an ID3 Tag is the data that is used to properly identify the music that is playing on the track. For instance, if you have a song playing on your iPod, it'll tell you the song name and artist, and what disc it's on. That's what the ID3 Tag is responsible for. Otherwise it'd just read the filename of the track and call it like that. No organization whatsoever.

  • Transferring music from ipod touch to new pc computer

i just got a new computer, and i downloaded itunes, but i cannot move the music from my ipod to the new computer. can any one help?

That is true. The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.
The exception is itunes purchased music. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
You should really move everything from the old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to the new one.

  • Is it possible to print notes from iPod touch?

I have lots of stuff on notes, like songs, stories, etc. I haven't got the latest update, and that is another problem. Is there any way I can print my notes?

I can't find a way of directly printing them.  You can paste them into an app that support printing.
