Transferring numbers from iPhone 3GS on O2 to iPhone4 on Orange

I'm sorry if this question has been answered elsewhere but I have had a look on several discussions and none seems to answer my particular query.
I have an iPhone 3GS with O2 with over 900 contacts on it. And lots of purchased music.
This is synced to my mac I use at work.
I have recently upgraded to an iPhone4 on a different network (Orange) and want to transfer all my contacts, calendars and music to the new phone.
Can anyone tell me how to do this please?

Thanks but this still doesn't seem to work.
I think I have followed the instructions but when I check the contacts I only have 72 and they are all email addresses, not phone numbers.
How can I get all my phone numbers from the 3GS onto the 4?
I'm not really that bothered about the calendar as I have very few things in it and can re enter them manually but the phone numbers will be an enormous task if I cannot sync them somehow.

How can I transfer phone numbers from iphone 3gs to iphone 4s?

    I recently upgraded from 3GS to 4S
I used mobile me for yers so i trustef this would work -
Ensure that everything is uptodate on the 3GS
sign in to icloud in the settings on the 3GS and ensure you are syncing contacts (calendars etc also but as you are only querying phone numbers you only seem interested in contacts)
use the same Apple ID on the 4s when you initially turn it on to set it up (this is what i did, icloud downloaded everything including my settings and what apps were in which folders and where)
If your 4s is already set up ensure the same apple id is used in the icloud settings.
Or you could go back to the pc and sync the 3gs one last time, then when setting up the 4s and it asks whether you want to set it up as a new phone or from a back up choose backup from itunes and then plug it in and select the 3gs backup from itunes to install

  • Transferring apps from Iphone 3Gs to PC so i can upgrade

I have tried everything i can find to transfer my apps from my iphone 3GS to itunes on my PC so i can upgrade the phone but nothing works..Right click on phone on left side of screen, click transfer purchases and it only transfers 1 app which was a free app....I have synced the phone/ back up a couple times in the past couple weeks but it takes 4-6 hours to complete and still only shows 1 app in my itunes library...I dont have that much on the phone..150 apps....50-60 pictures and address book...does it always take this long ? Help.....Jay

Just FYI, when I did this, I had to manually select all the Apps to reinstall after restoring the iPhone4 with my iPhone 3GS backup. Most of the data for those apps transferred over with possibly one exception - a game (Nanosaur 2) in which my save games all disappeared.
I guess what I'm curious to know is, when you restore from a backup, shouldn't the Apps automatically restore and be in their previous positions? I had to go back and manually rearrange all my Apps which took quite a bit of time.

  • Transferring purchases from iPhone 3GS ?

iTunes 10.4 says my iPhone 3GS (iOS 4.3.3) has purchased items to transfer before I upgrade to 4.3.5.  I click on File->Transfer Purchases, iTunes says "Transferring Purchases".  I wait until it finishes and click 'Upgrade" again, but it still reports purchases need to be transferred;  I ejected the phone and plugged it back in, but it still reports purchases need to be transferred.  Any thoughts ?  Any way to find out what purchases we're talking about ? Thanks.

Ignore it.  If you're updating, nothing will be deleted from the phone.  Assuming this is the computer you usually sync with, just do a full sync before updating.

  • Transfering iMessages from iPhone 3GS to iPhone 5

How can I transfer my iMessages from old iPhone 3GS to my new iPhone 5?

Have you tried to transfer it in sections.   When you plug in your phone to your PC the autorun should pop up.  Instead of importing the pics can you view the folders, then hightlight a certain amount of pics and then copy it to your My pictures on your PC.
    Just another option to consider.

  • Transferring apps from iPhone 3GS to iPhone 4.

I recently purchased an iPhone 4. I already have an iPhone 3GS which I still use. I wanted to download some of the apps onto the iP4 but it won't let me. Does anyone have any ideas or can't it be done? I have looked at similar posts but they aren't exactly what I am after. We have just purchased a new computer as well and I have got into the home sharing also. I have been able to transfer apps purchased on iP4 to the 3GS but not the other way around (i.e. any app I purchased over the last year or so on 3GS won't transfer to iP4).
When I go to sync the iP4, it will let me sync the contacts, music, podcasts etc but the app section is greyed out and can't click on anything. The picture of whats on the screen of iP4 is greyed out as well.

Please disregard everyone - it is now working and I have transferred the apps. Fyi, the only thing I did differently was to use the new phone's cord and not the cord I originally had for the 3GS. The original cord downloaded all the other things fine, so I am not sure why the cord supplied with the iP4 made a difference. Maybe the wiring is slightly different between the cord for the 3GS and iP4 - I am not sure.

  • Transferring photos from Iphone 3GS to Imac

    Imac
    Snow Leopard 10.6.2
    Iphone 3GS latest firmware
Can anyone tell me how to transfer photos from the Iphone to the Imac?
I cannot see the Iphone connected in either finder or image capture!
Connects fine with Itunes and I can send photos to the Iphone no problem.
    Any ideas brainiacs???
    Thanks in advance
    Mark

If there are photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll, your iPhone should also be detected as a digital camera when connected to your computer, which means being detected by iPhoto or the Image Capture application for importing the photos.
Since the iPhone does not support disk mode, it won't appear on your Desktop or via the Finder as a connected external drive.
Does your iPhone's Camera Roll include any photos that were saved from a received email, from a website, or from an MMS?
If so, this has been reported to cause problems for some with the iPhone being recognized as a digital camera. I haven't experienced the same, so I don't know what triggers this specifically.
If your iPhone's Camera Roll includes such photos that you want to save, email these photos to yourself followed by saving the photos from the received email on your Mac. After emailing these photos, delete these photos from the iPhone's Camera Roll.

How do I recover my contact list which I lost while transferring it from iphone3gs to windows address book.

Did you try and sync it with an address book on your computer that contained no entries at all?  If so, then they are gone.
IF you backed up the phone before trying to do this, you may be able to recover some of the information using 3rd party software to try and extract it from the backup. I have no personal experience with any of these programs, so I'll leave specific recommendations to others who do.

I was having a pretty serious problem that started when I upgraded to iPhone 3.1. While iTunes recognized my iPhone, iPhoto didn't.
And if I opened iPhoto, I couldn't see the camera. Same with Image Capture - it said no device detected. I know there was no problem in 3.0.
Luckily, there are other ways to get the photos off the iPhone, and luckily iTunes recognizes the phone, but that of course is not the point.
Good news is that I believe I found the fix. Click through and I'll see if I can explain it.
For some reason, it has to do with photos saved to the camera roll that were not shot with the iPhone. In other words, photos saved from email or screenshots. I have no idea why that would be, but once I deleted the non-shot photos, iPhoto launched normally and all was right with the world.
The problem is mentioned several times in the Apple support forums and everyone with it is running iPhone 3.1 and Snow Leopard 10.6.1. Restoring the iPhone, rebooting and repairing permissions from the Snow Leopard disc has no effect. The only fix I've found is my weird one.
Anyone else seeing this problem? Anyone find a different fix? Please let me know in the comments or interact with me on Twitter or Facebook.
    Thanks and thanks for calling.
