Transferring phone numbers via bluetooth

I have purchased a  Panasonic Bluetooth phone set and there is supposed to be a way to transfer email addresses from my 5S to it. Most likely would need to figure out a way to send a directory.  The landline phone is model KX-TGE272S
How may this be done? I have gotten it as far as being ready to receive, but their tech support says you have to do the transfer.
anyone have any ideas?

I have found some other discussions that seem to imply this is possible. Your answer puzzles me since you write "between IPhones and other smartphones" unless you mean the panasonic land line?
The technique as I understand it is to first make a backup of your whole address book.  Then delete all the addresses you do not want to transfer.  Also, remove all images.
The follow the procedure after deleting all others and it should work.
However, I don't know how to temporarily delete all other groups. Does anyone so you don't have to delete each card?
Two reasons to transfer names and phone numbers to the Panasonic phone: one click calling, and when you get a call from them it announces the name. The latter is usually not needed for a land line with call ID functioning.

Hello,  unfortunately the USB port of my 8330 Curve has broken and I do not have a backup of my contact list - over 100, not sure why I can't retrieve the back up, but my question is....  Can I not transfer from one phone to the other via bluetooth and if so, could someone please help me.  Thank you so very much!

You can connect your device via Bluetooth with Desktop Manager and have backup of your device. The transfer of address book via Bluetooth is not available.

  • Want to make phone calls via bluetooth on my iPhone from iPad

I can link my Garmin GPS to my iPhone via Bluetooth and make or receive phone calls.
I would like an iPas app that provides the sametype functionality including:
    Make calls
    Receive calls
    Look uphone numbers
Is this possible?  Using what app?

There are a couple of Apps out there that will allow you to use a Google Voice phone number to make and recieve calls via the iPad. I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to do. If you are trying to replicate the Garmin / iPhone setup I don't think that is possible.
Google Voice  setup - gvconnect and talkatone. (wifi)
Skype - I think that you can make phone calls via Skype and Wifi.
I don't have a clue as if it is possible to make a phone call over 3G via the iPad.

  • Phone book via bluetooth

This Forum stuff is new to me, so not sure i'm doing this correctly. I have just bought a 3G i-phone. When i bluetooth it to my car (Audi A6) the phone works fine (handsfree etc) but i cannot access my phone book via the car system. Is this a car problem, phone problem, or a me problem? Help please!

As others have posted, it seems that the iPhone (both original and 3G models) only officially supports the Hands-Free Profile (HFP) and Headset Profile (HSP) hence the phonebook and other problems.
However, I also had a first generation iPhone and it worked perfectly with my 2007 A6 Allroad ... full access to phonebook, recent calls, missed calls ... the whole nine yards.
I have the same problem as you with the 'new and improved' iPhone 3G. I can pair from the phone to the car and get a very basic functionality (i.e. no phonebook or call register). If I recall correctly, you need to initiate the pairing the other way round ... i.e. starting from the car. When successful the phonebook is copied as part of the initial pairing. I can't get this part to work for me as the iphone is invisible to the Audi even though the iphone says it is 'discoverable'.
Applecare will just give you the standard line about not being able guarantee to support every phone out there.
If the 3G is working with other car makes (BMW and the like ...) then it might be an Audi problem. They seem to have created a workaround for the original iPhone's shortcomings so let's hope the can do it again for the 3G

PS. The following is a list of profiles supported/not supported that I lifted from another post ...
    iPhone Support:
    Hands-Free Profile (HFP)
    Headset Profile (HSP)
    iPhone Does Not Support:
    Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP)
    Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP)
    Basic Imaging Profile (BIP)
    Basic Printing Profile (BPP)
    Cordless Telephony Profile (CTP)
    Device ID Profile (DID)
    Dial-up Networking Profile (DUN)
    Fax Profile (FAX)
    File Transfer Profile (FTP)
    General Audio/Video Distribution Profile (GAVDP)
    Generic Access Profile (GAP)
    Generic Object Exchange Profile (GOEP)
    Human Interface Device Profile (HID)
    Intercom Profile (ICP)
    Object Push Profile (OPP)

    Synchronisation Profile (synch)
    Video Distribution Profile (vdp)
    Wireless Application Protocol Bearer (WAPB)

  • Transferring/Receiving Photos via Bluetooth

Is there a way iPhone could send pics to another phone via bluetooth? Checked the manual, and it seems there is no indication this basic function could be done. Also, it seems iPhone could not receive pics from other phone.

  • Transfering phone numbers to car's phonebook

...So I picked up new iphone yesterday, paired it with my car (lexus gs450h) and phone numbers won't transfer. I've never had any problems with nokia phones... Has anyone found the trick to do it, or is it something iphone will never get?
    Thx

I use a BlueAnt Supertooth 3 in my 2003 Honda. Pairing and directory transfer from my 3GS worked fine (as it did with the 2G iPhone I used until yesterday).
Odd thing is that my wife's Motorola RAZR will not pair with the Supertooth 3 .. and Motorolas (like Nokias) should work with everything!
Later: Take a look at this website --
    http://lexusbluetooth.letstalk.com/brands/lexus-bt/product/product.htm?prId=3510 6&serviceCorpId=0&filterCorpId=697&passedPaIds=
It looks like Lexus bluetooth may not transfer directories from iPhones.

  • Transferring phone numbers from old Casio Boulder

    I need help!
Would someone be able to tell me how to get all of my phone numbers out of my Casio and into my i Phone 4? They were absolutely no help at the Verizon store today. I spent over an hour there while they tried to activate my phone. I asked the the lady if she could transfer the numbers, and she told me that all i would have to do is log in to my i Tunes and they would be there. Well, they are not. Can someone please help? Please

With Windows, the iPhone supports syncing contacts with Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010 along with syncing calendar events and notes, and with the address book used by Windows Mail with Windows 7 called Windows Contacts or Windows Address Book for syncing contacts only.
You need to get the contacts exported from the Casio in a format that is supported by importing with a supported address book application on your computer.
Certainly Casio provided some option for exporting the contacts in a format that would be supported by importing into an address book application on your computer, or syncing the contacts with an app on your computer that is provided by Casio, or possibly with a 3rd party alternative.

  • How to copy phone book via Bluetooth to a G35

I have paired my 3G with my car (Infinity G35 2008) and it works fine. But I am unable to download the phone book. I get a message in the car that says if needed enter the 1234 passkey, but that never happens on the phone. 30 minutes later still on the same screen.
    Any clues?

Blame Apple about that. The Bluetooth in iPhone is crippled to headset only. Make me think that iPhone 3G is like previous Verizon phones with all Bluetooth feature capped. I suggest you to send a feedback to Apple about that particular problem.

  • Restoring phone numbers via Time Capsule

Not sure how it happened, but I lost all of my phone numbers after the last sync. Never had this problem before, and I'm wondering if I can retrieve them by doing a restore from the TC? And if so, do I restore all of iTunes or a certain file/folder?

Did you lose them from Address Book or from your iPhone? If they're no longer in Address Book and you want to restore them to there, navigate to "yourhomefolder"/Library/Application Support/AddressBook, launch Time Machine, back up to before the problem, then restore the file AddressBook-v22.abcddb. (I'd make a backup copy of that file on your Mac first.)
Since your problem really involves Time Machine (backup software that's included with OS X since 10.5) rather than Time Capsule (an Apple Wi-Fi router with an integrated disk drive), your message would have been better posted in another discussion groups section.

  • TS3581 Transfering contacts to in car phone book via bluetooth

Hi I have recently bought the new nissan pulsar and its intergrated voice dialling only works through the cars phonebook.
Problem is I cant find how to transfer contacts from my iPhone 4S to the car.  I have the menu open and ready on the car but can not find the option on my phone to transfer via blue tooth.  This is a pretty standard feature on most cars these days so you would think you could do it with an iPhone.
    Any suggestions/help?

The iPhone only supports PBAP(Phone Book Access Profile) for this. Does your vehivle support PBAP?

  • Gmail and Transfering Phone numbers

My Gmail connets and downloads email but will not send..
Is there a trick I am missing?
Also I have Tmobile XDA PDA and have all my numbers and have not figured away to get them to transfer.
Tried bluetooth but iPhone is not seeing XDA and XDA is not seeing iPhone?
    Thank you for any help!!

    Gmail not sending:
Are you using the built in Gmail option for accounts on the iPhone or did you setup Gmail manually? (I personally set it up manually because the one built in the iPhone always shows me 25 messages no matter what versus the manual way allows me to clear my inbox). If you set it up manually, make sure you have the smtp settings correct for gmail. If you just picked the built in iPhone gmail settings, then I am not sure what is going on there. Do you get any error when sending?
    Transferring your address book:
I believe the iPhone will only see bluetooth headsets, so no go there.
Are you on a Mac or PC? If PC, then easy - sync your Tmobile phone to Outlook, then sync Outlook to the iPhone.
If on Mac, the maybe MissingSync will work for you.
Good luck and if you get a solution, please report back to us in case someone else had something similar.

  • No data exchange from phone tethered via bluetooth PAN

I'm pretty sure this problem is in the Macbook (mid 2009 running 10.6.8) and not to do with the tethered phone.
Until now I've had this tethered connection running fine via my Sony W810i. I've recently been trying to connect to the same ISP account via a Sony W890i (SIM card swapped over) and had a succession of problems trying to get it to work. First I could not get the paired W890i past the 'self assigned IP address' problem. The W810i would still work fine.
Somehow, after implementing various actions gleaned from the internet I've got that issue sorted, but now I cannot get any data transfer to my Macbook even though everything looks as it should. Phone is browsing OK and the Macbook System Pref panel shows Bluetooth PAN active with an IP address allocated to it. My 810i is now doing the same. I cannot get any internet data to my Macbook from either phone.
Can anyone suggest what might be the problem here? Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Greg

You can use your Blackberry to download a supported version of Verizon Backup Assistant. Open the link below on your Blackberry to download/install the software. To transfer using your Bluetooth you will connect the two devices and sending your address book wireless.  You can do it from home screen.
Options>Bluetooth>select the device, the transfer option is there…Or you can also find it by opening “Manage Connections” >Bluetooth options,

  • Mystery Files Being Transferred to me via Bluetooth--should i be worried?

Ok stupid mistake--had not realized Bluetooth was on. Today, randomly, someone kept trying to transfer a file to me. I declined each time and quickly turned Bluetooth off. I never use Bluetooth and have no idea why it was even turned on, but should I be worried about anything else that someone had access to? Any files, etc? Pardon novice questions but I want to make sure things are A-OK.
    Thanks all.

    Hello a:
The effective distance for Bluetooth transmissions is about 10 meters (30 feet). Wherever that was coming from, it had to be within that range (reduced for walls, etc). Perhaps from an apartment or even another room.
I would not worry about anyone accessing your system. If you have file sharing on and you allowed anyone to look at anything, there would be a possibility of something being read.
Incidentally, if it is not on, turn on your OS X built-in firewall.
Pardon novice questions but I want to make sure things are A-OK.
Ask away, people here enjoy helping others.
