Transferring photo stream from iPhone 4 to 4s

I just switched from an iPhone 4 to a 4s. I made sure that my recent photos were backed up in photo stream but not on my computer before I did this. Is there anyway to access those photos from my new iPhone? They are not showing up in my new photo stream even though I am signed into my iCloud account.

If the photos were uploaded to photo stream more than 30 days ago they will not be available to download to a device which just enabled photo stream on the same account.  (Photos older than 30 days will remain in the photo stream folder on your device if they are already there, but will not be availalbe to newly connected devices.)  If that's the case, you'll have to import the photos from your iPhone 4 to your computer (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083) then put them in a folder and then sync them to your 4S by putting selecting to do so on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.

  • My iPad will not sync photo stream from iPhone

My iPad ios7 will not sync my photo stream. It only received 1/4 of my photos. My iPhone ios6 has the correct photo stream. Tried Turing off photo stream on iPad, afraid to turn off photo stream on iPhone as I may lose data. I know the photo stream limit is 1000 so I keep it at 900. iPad is fully updated. iPhone all apps are fully updated. Same Apple ID is signed in across 2 devices for iCloud. Both are backed up on same wifi. Loading iTunes just to back up photo stream seems silly but maybe forced to.     Thank you.

    Check this out - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4486.
How long are My Photo Stream photos stored in iCloud?
The photos you upload to My Photo Stream are stored in iCloud for 30 days to give your devices plenty of time to connect and download them.

  • Using Photo Stream from iPhone while Computer w/iPhoto is Off...

What happens if my computer is off and I take a photo with my iPhone?  Will Photo Stream still add the photo to iPhoto after the computer turns back on, even if I delete the photo from my phone to save space prior to turning on my computer?

Once the Photo is uploaded to the Stream then yes.
But remember that it can only upload to the stream via Wifi, so, if you're out and about be sure the shot is actually uploaded.
But that said, a simple test would answer that for you. Have you tried?

  • Photo Stream from iPhone to Macbook

Photos won't stream to my Macbook from my phone.  When I go to System Preferences on my computer, then to iCloud it tells me that I need to upgrade iPhoto.   I don't know what version I have but it's the one that came with my computer in 2008.
Is there a way to do this without paying the $14.99?  I'm a recreational user and this would just be easier than emailing myself the photos I want for just messing around.
Also, someone previoulsy mentioned an iphoto plug-in.  What and where is that?
    Thanks

    No
As you saw when you read the FAQs link I posted
To use My Photo Stream you need an iCloud account, compatible devices, and up-to-date software:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5.1 or later
Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later and iPhoto 9.2.2 or Aperture 3.2.3 or later
Apple TV (2nd generation) with Apple TV Software Update 5.0 or later
PC with Windows 7 or later and the iCloud Control Panel 2.1 or later for Windows
Unfortuantly now in order to upgrade to iPhoto '11 you have to either upgrade yoru OS to Mavericks - a free upgrade if you Mac supports it - or putchase an iLife '11 DVD from a vendor - Amazon or eBay are sources

  • HT201077 Photo stream from IPhone to IPad

I have iCloud open on both my IPad and my IPhone and sent my photos via Photo Stream to my IPad. t has been grinding away and "loading" for over an hour with poor resolution on the IPad side. When I  open a photo, the "loading" wheel keeps grinding. I can't delete the "loading" photos and start over. Our WiFi system is quite slow because we live in a rural area.

Probably the only way to stop it would be to turn photo stream off in Settings>iCloud on your iPad.  This will delete all photos in your photo stream album if you do.
If you have poor internet speed in your area, photo stream might not be the best solution for you.  You can also import photos to your computer (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083), then sync them to your other devices from the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings.  You could also use an app like PhotoSync to transfer them to your other devices using your wifi (without going over the internet).

    On your iPhone:
Lastly go into iPhoto's Photo Stream preference pane and set it up as shown:

  • Photo stream from iphone to ipad

My phone got stolen now im trying to see my photos on my ipad, they both have the same user name.  But u cant see them, on my ipad photo stream it show only 37 pics but i do have over 1000.. Any help ??

You're welcome.  Restoring your backup to his phone will replace the data and settings on his phone with the ones on your old phone, so he would need to start by backup up his phone, then restore your backup, then import the recovered photos to your computer, then finish be restoring his backup back to his phone.  His phone would also have to be running the same or higher version of iOS as your phone in order to use restore the backup.  If it isn't, he would need to update it first.  The specific steps are:
Upadate his phone the the same or higher iOS as your phone was running (if necessary)
Save any photo stream photos that are not in his camera roll to his camera roll so they are not lost.  To do this, open his my photo stream album, tap Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward pointing arrow), then tap Save to Camera Roll.
Create a current backup of his phone, either using iTunes or iCloud (iTunes is faster to restore to later).  To back up using iTunes, connect the phone to his computer, open iTunes, click on the name of his phone in iTunes, go to the Summary tab of his iTunes sync settings and click Back Up Now.  Then go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.
Erase his phone by going to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, then your should go through the setup screens on his phone as if it were yours and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts.  Be sure the phone is connected to wifi and his charger as it is restoring the backup.
When finished, import the recovered photos to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
Erase his phone again by going to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, then he should go through the setup screens on his phone as if it were his and when given the option, choose either Restore from iCloud Backup or Restore from iTunes Backup depending on whether it was backed up using iCoud or iTunes in step 3.  After restoring his backup his phone should be back to the way it was originally.

  • Transferring Photo Albums from Iphone 3Gs to IMac?

    Hey All,
I have an Iphone 3Gs, that was synced with my laptop. That died, so I bought an IMac, and am trying to find out if there is any way I can get my old photo albums off my iphone onto my IMac? I know how to do it from pictures that i take on the phone, but didn't know if there was any way to save the old pictures I have???
    Thank you x

You will need a third party recovery software tool (lots available) to be able to extract them but it can be done.
Just bear in mind that the images on the phone are NOT the originals but are compressed reduced size versions for the iPhone screen.
Google is your friend for the tool.

  • Transferring photo albums from iPhone to new laptop help?

My old computer crashed all my data is not recoverable. I have some phone albums on iPhone 5 that I want to download to a new computer, but I can't get them to show up in iTunes or iPhoto when I sync my phone. The only images that download are the ones from the camera roll. Any suggestions on how I could save these images?
    Thank you.
    -F

Photos outside the camera roll can only be transferred to the computer if you use 3rd party software, like Touchcopy for example, just to name one of the many a search will bring up.

  • Transfering Photos & Music from iPhone onto a camputer

I just upgraded to Leopard and in the process something went wrong I lost everything on my hard drive. I have all of my songs, and most of my pictures on my iPhone and need a way to transfer them back onto my computer. I'm not talking about the pictures on the Camera Roll which are taken on the iPhone, but the pictures that were on my computer and I synced onto the phone using iTunes.
I heard of a program from Tansee, but it is only for Windows and I tried on a friends PC and had no luck (perhaps because my phone was set up on a mac...not even sure if that makes a difference). Can anyone suggest another way to do this? I'm afraid to do a regular sync and have iTunes think I erased all my songs on my computer and erase them on my phone as well.
    Thanks!

There is a program called the Tansee iPhone Copy Pack (google it) that lets you download your music and pictures from your iPhone to your computer. I mentioned that it didn't work the first time I tried, but I finally got it to work. The free trial says you'll only be able to download the first 5 songs, but it let me download all of them. As for the pictures, it says you can only download the first 6 and I wasn't able to get around that. The songs transferred just fine and I imagine if you pay for the full version of the software it should work for the pictures also. I think its like 29 bucks. The only problem is that it is only for Windows, so I had to borrow my friends PC. Hope that helps.
When you synced your iPhone to your computer after erasing the hard drive did it sync your contacts and calendar OK? I've been worried that if I sync it with an empty Calendar & Address book, that it will think I deleted everything off my computer and delete it off my iPhone as well, so I haven't done it. Let me know if that worked out for you.

  • Issues transferring photo/video from iPhone 6 to Macbook Pro running OS X 10.8.5 via USB-to-Lightning cable

    Hello all—
Recent upgrader to iPhone 6. I have a mid-'09 Macbook Pro running OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion and I'm seeking to transfer video I just shot on my iPhone 6 to my Macbook Pro. They are large files so I need to transfer via USB-to-Lightning cable as I don't have wi-fi capability to do the upload. However I can't access the iPhone 6 as a storage device through finder or image capture and can't figure out another way to transfer the files non-wirelessly. Any suggestions? The old iPhoto '09 on here won't let me import, either.

What I am hoping to do - assuming it will work of course - is run OS 10.5 as a virtual machine via Virtual Box on my MacBook Pro.
Why virtualize Leopard and not Snow Leopard?
I guess I did it once in Parallels:

But to be honest, I have forgotten how!
Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) installed into Parallels is another matter altogether!

If you turned off Contacts wouldnt that mean that the Contacts would no longer be backed up to iCloud as well? That would make it a pain when upgrading a phone to not easily pull contacts back down.

  • HT201077 How do I get my shared photo streams from my ipad to my iPhone?

How do I get my photo streams from my ipad to sync to my iphone?

Your iPhone must also be signed into the same iCloud account as the iPad. Then look in Settings/iCloud/Photo Stream and ensure both My Photo Stream and Shared Photo Streams are turned on.

I accidentally grabed my My Photo Stream from My Pictures & transfered it to a FOB. I put it back as soon as I realized. Now I can't view any of the pictures from my phone & I cant up load any. How do I fix this?

Thanks, Eric. I'm not sure what I should be checking using your suggestion--as I said, I'm an utter novice with the iMac. However,  I saw a reference to problems with the Library entries, so I checked mine and the iWork files were missing, something confirmed when I checked the crash log. In desperation, I did another software update, and that seems to have fixed the problem completely. Now wondering if I dare upgrade to Lion!
