Transferring photos and videos to flash drive

I tried to transfer my photos and videos from iphoto to a 16G flash drive on my Macbook Air. I am running out of memory on my Macbook but want easy access to my video and photos. In Iphoto I transferred my very large file by exporting to my flash drive. My problem is only my photos were transferred. The videos were transferred but wont play. I dont understand how the file of a video can be transferred but not the contents of it. What did I do wrong? I also checked the storage on system information and it only shows pictures on my flash drive and no movies. What should I do now?

I have a similiar issue. I backed up iPhoto (which contained .avi files) to a flash drive in case of alarmingly inevitable hard drive failure(s). When that day came, I imported the contents of the flash back into iPhoto, but the videos have no content. what up with dat??

  • Transferring photos and video from iPhone 5S camera roll to windows folder, some files corrupt. Why?

I back up all my photos and videos to my external hard drive every month or so in order to free up space in my phone.
Now some folders once are transferred in windows contain some videos with jpeg extension in the file name and some photos with .avi extension too, as seen on the picture below.. Also I try to move files around in the folder and they freeze the computer resulting in a windows desktop reset. Any clues on what am I doing wrong so I can protect all my files for good?

You can't transfer the photos and Videos into iTunes. You have to import them to your computer. It is a fairly easy process. This article explains it all for you.

  • Help transferring photos and video from broke phone!!!!

I have a Siii that was recently dropped in the toilet by my 2 year old. I am trying to get my pictures and video off of it. My screen doesn't let me swipe it. I have been using svoice to make calls and texts till my new devices comes in from Asurion. I have tried connecting it through usb on both my window laptop and mac. It will not read it. I tried Kies air but it won't pick up my device!!! If I can't do this can I take it in to get Verizon to pull all the photos and videos off of it?

I know its frustrating having a phone get water damage Helpbrokenphone! I know it can be more frustrating not to be able to get pictures & videos from it. Ann154 gave a great tip! Its a good idea to let your phone sit in uncooked rice for a few hours, or even a day. Its best to remove back, battery, & SD card, place them all in rice separately. This could help, but its not guaranteed. Also, does the phone have a removable SD card with the media on it? If so, you may be able to retrieve it by putting into another phone, or PC to transfer data. Are you able to view any of your pictures on the phone? If so, you may be able to take into store to transfer, but its best to call local store to see if they can. For closest store, please select following link: http://bit.ly/3SdsA The phone number will also be provided so you can call ahead.

  • Transferring photos and videos from iphone onto macbook

    Hi
This may sound like a completely basic issue but i can't for the life of me work out how to transfer photos and videos onto my macbook. I can easily put them on iphoto but i don't really want to put them there as i keep all my photos under the normal photos folder. When I plug it in it just opens iphoto though and doesn't give me the option to put them anywhere else. When i used to have a windows pc and plugged my phone in it asked me if i wanted to open and view files, then you would just drag them into whatever folder on your pc you wanted them in. But there doesn't seem to be a similar system on the mac. does anyone have any ideas? it's probably something very simple but i just can't work it out.

With a Mac, you can use iPhoto for importing photos from any digital camera including importing photos and videos from the iPhone's Camera Roll and if you use iPhoto for photo storage and management, which sure makes it easier than doing this the Windows way and manually managing photo storage - manually creating folders for select photos, etc., or you can use the Image Capture application for this which is located in your Applications folder.
iPhoto includes an option via iPhoto preferences to launch automatically when any digital camera is connected and the Image Capture application should include the same.

  • Transferring photos and videos between iPhone 4S and iPad 2

    Hi
Is there a way (app or otherwise) to transfer photos and videos between an iPhone 4S and an iPad WITHOUT having to go via iTunes on another Mac/PC?
I saw 'Bump' but it seems limited to just contacts and photos.
    Thanks

  • Transferring photos from a USB flash drive to Mac Lion

I managed to salvage some photos from my old Windows Vista laptop and get them onto a small flash drive, before my laptop pegged out.
But when I plug it into the USB port on the Mac, I dont see any Icon and no recognition of it.
How do I find it and get the photos into Iphoto ? or is it not possible to transfer photos from a flash drive to a Mac ?

you open finder it's the dark blue and light blue 1/2 faces
there you go to the usb drive and mark the photos and copy them to where you wish
on the mac hd and then add them to iphone should you wish

  • Unable to free up hard disc capacity by transferring photos and videos to external hard drive.

Have copied files to external hard drive and sent them to trash/empty on hard drive, but can't free up space on hard drive.

Reboot and see if the free space is reported correctly.  If not reindex your hard drive by adding it to Spotlight's Exlcude list in its preferences and then remove from the Exclude list to begin the indexing.

  • I have about 320Gb worth of Photos and Videos in iCloud Drive. If I want to view and older video it does not stream. I have to pres edit so it will download but the it stays on my iPhone taking up space i need as I have my library optimized.

how can I delete videos and photos from my device after downloading them from iCloud to free up space.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
The first back up to iCloud may take some considerable time. Just how long isn't really possible to say without knowing how much is in your back up and your connection speed.
What many people don't realise is that upload speeds are often significantly less than download speeds, so for example a user may have a download speed of 40 Mbps, but only 1 Mbps for uploading. As a rough guide it will take around 2 ¼ hours to upload 1 GB of data at 1 Mbps.

  • Transferring photos and videos between devices

How can I transfer a video we took with my sister's iphone 4 to my iPad 2??
Bluetooth keeps disconnecting and when connected I don't see the option or a choice leading up to the video.
    Thanking you in advance.

Thank you for the reply. I tried the WiFi file sharing app rout. I used "Phone Drive", which allows for either wifi or Bluetooth sharing, followed the app's intuitive instructions and neither device came up on the other's screen. When I selected the Bluetooth choice, only the iPhone showed up on the iPad and nothing happened when I selected it!
Sure I can try the email rout and other creative and time consuming ways of doing it but apple should've done a better job in facilitating file sharing within their devices!! It's not like I am using another brand device, say like the new Samsung 3s!
And when you're in vacation and want to share a video or a precious moment with family, the last thing you want is to take away time to figure out how.

  • How to delete photos and videos from iphone after transferring them to iCould?

    iPhone 4S
    iOS- 8.1.1
After transferring photos and videos from my iphone to icloud, how to delete photos and videos from my iPhone 4S

Thanks to both of you for your replies.
For some reason, the Camera & Scanner Wizard has started to detect the phone now. Maybe it will stop again in the future, but for now it's OK.
I do have iTunes installed, and the iPhone's still not appearing in Windows Explorer. I might reinstall if the problem recurs.
Yep, it's an official Apple cable, but it's a bit old. I got it with my iPod a few years back. Maybe i should start using that as the charger cable, and the new cable i got with my iPhone for syncing?
    Thanks again for your replies.

  • How do i transfer photos and videos from my ipad2 to mycomputer??

i need help on transferring photos and videos fr my ipad2 to my computer.. please.. thanks.

Plug your iPad into your Computer. Open Computer. You'll See an Icon called iPad 2 (or the name you gave to your iPad 2). Double-Click on it. You See all your photos. Now just choose thema Pictures you want to and copy them to your pc.
An App that dös the Same is called Photosync. You can Transfer your Photos wirelessly with it. It Works Great :)
