Transferring photos in I photo to yahoo mail

I have some 500 photos in Iphoto, but when using yahoo and I wish to send a photo and browse is chosen only 180 photos shown. is there something obvious I am missing - fairly new to Apple?
Bob Andrews

Hi bob,
If you have an Albums folder in your iPhoto Library folder in the Finder, this folder is no longer updated or used by iPhoto 5.
You now have to open iPhoto and share/export the photos you want to use to the desktop.
Then browse and navigate to the desktop to attach the files.
I also use Yahoo, paid version, so I can set up my Yahoo account in Mail.app and can then just attach photos right within iPhoto by using the Mail icon.

  • Emailing photos from yahoo mail via iphoto

I would like to be able to send photos directly from iphoto using the email button but i would need to send the photos from my yahoo mail account as I don't have apple mail. Is it possible to link yahoo somehow to my ibook so that when I click on email photo in iphoto it links to my yahoo account and the mail will be sent from yahoo instead. Do I make any sense at all? If anyone has any idea, please reply in as 'basic' a way as possible - thanks.

The way it works is as follows.
    1. You upgrade your free Yahoo Mail account to a Yahoo Mail Plus mail account. (FYI: Google Mail is free internet based email that offers free integration with Apple Mail, called POP access. This integration is what you are paying for with Yahoo.)
    2. You obtain instructions from Yahoo on how to use Apple Mail with your Yahoo Mail account. They give you the server information (there is a server for outgoing mail and a server for incoming mail) and you supply your Yahoo user name and password. Open Apple Mail and go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts to supply this information.
    3. You can then send and receive your Yahoo email through the Apple Mail program instead of going to Yahoo through your web browser. You can also use your Mac's address book now for sending email.
    4. Most importantly to you, you can now click the Email Photo button in iPhoto. iPhoto will open Apple Mail with the photo attached, and you can then send the photos to whoever you want. The email will appear as though you sent it through the web based Yahoo mail.
Hope this helps. Sorry if it was too elementary, just trying to clarify.

  • Help please! How do I get Elements 8 to send photos with Yahoo mail? I get an error message.

I keep getting an error message saying, "The host Yahoo could not be found.

Unfortunately, you can't. The only options are the ones Adobe set up. If you want to use Yahoo mail, you have to use the Attachment button in your mail program instead of sending directly from PSE.

  • I can no longer attach photos in yahoo mail

    Hello,
How do you attach a photo in an email?  My email account is with Yahoo and my browser is Safari.  I used to click on the Attach button in an email, then type the name of the photo (like IMG_8648) in the "Search" field.  Now when I do this, nothing comes up as a match.  In fact, it doesn't find anything starting with IMG_8, despite gobs of my photos beginning as such in iPhoto.
I also cannot find the location of said file when I search for it in Finder.  I can only find it through iPhoto and through Spotlight.
    Help?
    Cherie

I keep some pictures in the picture files and they show up.  The photos that I used to keep in iPhoto (which disappeared on upgrade) are not accessible in word.  If you click on photo the file location (in Word) looks for iPhoto and comes up blank.  If you try to enter the file location for "Photos" which is pictures/photolibrary this is greyed out and not accessible.  The only way I have been able to do it is export the photos to a folder and choose the file.  This is a pain.

  • Emailing Photos Using Yahoo Mail

    Hi,
I can't email a photo from the photo app.
I click on a photo, add it to a new email and add a recipient and then send it.
It always appears to send but never arrives at the recipients mailbox. Have tried sending to friends and to my other email addresses.
Is there something I'm missing here?
    Steve

    Steven Taylor3,
If they iPhone is saying it has been sent, that indicates it has been uploaded to and acknowledge by your outgoing mail server. However, to further isolate the issue, would you mind trying the following steps as a means of troubleshooting?
    1. Create a trial .Mac account on www.mac.com - you do not need to enter billing information, and you will not be automatically charged. You also don't need a Mac to have a .Mac account.
    2. Add that email account to your iPhone, using the .Mac option in Settings -> Mail -> Add Account
    3. Set the .Mac account to the default account to troubleshoot
    4. Attempt to send a picture.
If it arrives at the destination it indicates your iPhone is communicating with the SMTP server, but the message is being filtered or stopped somewhere else along the route to the recipient.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

I'm having a huge problem attaching photos in yahoo mail within Safari. Anyone else having problems?
It will update the photo then freeze I can not navigate within safari to another screen and I am forced to shut off.
I did update to Safari 5 and last night to OSX 10.6.4. I can not recall if I had attached a pic after Safari 5 and before 10.6.4.

    HI,
If you have BrowserPlus installed that could be the culprit.

    @ Philly
    Yes there is,
When you recieve a mail with an attachement (inline or as a picture) right click (or control click) the attachement and choose "show as symbol" or "show fullsize" (or completely or something like that, I don't work in English version). Mail will take this as a general preference.

  • In Yahoo Mail thumbnail photos appear broken in email messages

I cannot view thumbnail photos in email messages that have photo attachments in my Yahoo Mail. The thumbnail appears as a broken image. When I click on the thumbnail it does open up a valid photo image.
The problem occurs all the time in every email that has a thumbnail photo in it. It occurs in not only the Yahoo New Mail version but also in the Yahoo Classic Mail version.
I have tried opening the email with both the Firefox and Google Chrome browsers, but the thumbnails appear broken when viewing the Yahoo Mail in both browsers. I am using Firefox 10.0 and Google Chrome 11.0 on a PC using Windows XP.
I have a screenshot of how the broken thumbnails appear in the message if you want to see it.
(It seems like the problem started with my upgrade to the Firefox 10.0 browser.)

I've contacted yahoo on this same thing and it is them not your browser. I've tried in IE and Firefox and only get a generic thumbnail and if you click on slideshow you get black screen for each image.
Stewart: I have checked and found that this is a technical issue going at our end.
Stewart: Our Engineering team is already working on the resolution now and we intend to have it corrected as soon as possible.
Stewart: The ticket number for this issue is 4904203.
Doesn't look like they are in a hurry to fix the issue, can't believe more people haven't complained. It's been weeks for me and still doesn't work

  • When I email photos from my iphone, firefox will not let me open them in yahoo.mail as jpeg images, only firefox documents

when I email photos from my iphone, firefox will not let me open them in yahoo.mail as jpeg images, only firefox documents

Two weeks ago I posted this, but no one replied telling me how to correct the problem.
I think Firefox engineers need to improve Firefox between now and the next up-date to make it adequate to handle all major websites. There aren't many websites used by as many people as yahoo. So why have Firefox engineers ignored this deficiency in Firefox?

  • HT4906 is there any connection in photo stream and My Yahoo mail Applications and attachments

When is Photo stream and Yahoo mail Applications / Attachments going to allow me to empty my attchments into trash? / delete them

You will have to ask Yahoo - If you are using Apple software then that all works - I do not use Yahoo applications and have no idea how they work - support for them must come from Yahoo

  • Sending photo with yahoo - please, Mail is not good.

How do people manage with Mail to send several photos?  It is taking me hours to send just 2 to New Zealand.  Any help as to how I can send photos from my iPhoto section through Yahoo would be most helpful?  Thanks.
Another question is that the Apple store advised me not to enter a password for my iMac Snow Leopard.  So far I have not - but I want to know if this is good advice - it keeps asking me for one?!  But for the moment I don't want to get into the keychain situation which Ifind complicated - oh so many passwords to remember.

You can send multiple photos on Yahoo by sending them as attachments.  You can also provide links to your photos by using photo sites like Photobucket or the software Dropbox.  If it is taking you hours to send photos, what type of internet connection do you have?
You do not need a password for your Mac if you do not want to.  Most users have one if others have access to their computers or to protect sensitive information in case their computer is stolen.  Keychain should not be asking you for a password if your computer is set up to not have one.  Is it?  It is not clear from your post.
To remember passwords, use a password manager.

  • In Yahoo Mail, only Firefox, not IE, quits in attachment of photo while I am going through my file levels for specific photo.

Using Firefox 6.0; I try to attach file to email, in this case a photo; the Yahoo dialog box shows and as I browse through file levels, when reaching photos, as I click the file holding photo want, the dialog box closes before I can choose. If I try to widen the dialog box, it freezes and after few moments goes back to position before I tried to attach. At that point the Attach button is frozen, and I have to close and restart Firefox. Don't have problem with IE. Seems to be only when attaching photos, not other files, i.e. Word or Excel.

The direct way to contact Apple is by telephone, there's a Contact Us link at the bottom right of this page with worldwide contact numbers. We are users here, with no real power to contact Apple.
