Transferring Pics Phone to Computer

I have too many pictures on my phone and would like to save them to my computer.  I have been trying to use a USB cable to transfer photos from my phone to my computer. I'm running vista.  The computer loaded drivers for the phone but doesn't see the phone as a new device.  I haven't been able to find the correct option on the phone to send photos to the computer.   I do not have a media package but from what I have read, that should not be necessary.... I'd be grateful for any assistance.

Similar problem here, only my phone (the LG Accolade) doesn't have an SD card slot.  JP29, you said "[t]he computer loaded drivers for the phone" and that you're running Vista... How did you get the drivers?  Were they already on Vista, or did you have to download them from somewhere else? I'm running Windows XP and there's not a driver in sight!   In order to get them, I was told the following by Verizon representative Iceman1906 (earlier on the Prepaid board):
Obtaining USB drivers for your wireless device
USB drivers are included in both the Verizon Wireless Mobile Office Kit and Music Essentials Kit. To purchase a kit, please visit the online store. Kits may also be purchased from your local Verizon Wireless retail store.
If you have a kit / cable that was not purchased through Verizon Wireless, please contact the manufacturer for driver availability.
To download USB drivers online, navigate to the VZAccess Manager download site or the VCast music essentials download site.
This makes no sense to me, because all I want to do is transfer a few *photo files* -- not access mobile broadband services for my desktop computer! Neither do I need any "music essentials," as the little 38 MB of onboard storage on the Accolade would fill up quickly with MP3 files.
I also don't see why the USB cable itself needs a driver. They're pretty much universal; although the USB I have did come with the phone.

  • IPhone 5 - iOS 7: Camera - How do I keep B/W "Tonal" pics as B/W when transferring pics to my computer?

I have an iPhone 5, and recently updated the iOS to 7.04. Very nice.
One of the things I like is the different options now available for the camera, specifically, the Filter.
But after taking the picture in, let's say, the "Tonal" option, it displays that pic in the camera, as a B/W pic.  But . . . when transferring that pic from the phone/camera to the computer, it displays the pic in color???
    What on earth is happening?
    Thanks,
    Donald1937

" iTunes lets me transfer purchases back to the laptop but not non-purchased material (i.e. stuff I imported from CDs I own)."
That is correct.  The music sync is one way - computer to iphone.  The exception is itunes purchases.  the iphone is not a backup device and does not function as a storage drive.
it has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.n  Use your backup copy to put everything back.

  • Transferring pictures from old computer to new computer

I purchased a flash drive but I don't really know what to do when transferring pics from one computer to another.  Help!

Your first job is to find where the pictures are on your computer. Once you find those files, you need to drag them to the drive, which should be under My Computer. Then, just do the reverse to move them to the other computer.

    Good luck Friend.
That's not going to help.  That article is for moving photos from iOS device to computer, not for removing them.  Additionally, photos synced via iTunes cannot be manually removed from the device.  You have to use iTunes to 'unsync' them, as FoxFifth stated.
Camera Roll pictures are the only ones that can be imported from device to computer.  Album folders cannot be moved from device to computer.

  • Downloaded pics from computer to iPhone using iTunes, computer crashed, now I can't download the transferred pics off my iPhone to new computer

I Had my iPhone synced to a computer, I transferred some pics from computer to iPhone, computer then crashed. Now I can't transfer the transferred pics from my iPhone to another computer. How do I get these pics off my phone without losing them. Currently cannot update my phone because there isn't enough memory.

That's what I'm trying to do, get those pics off my phone, they are taking too much storage space and I can't update my phone because there isn't enough memory.
I know.  That is exactly what I addressed.    The iPhone is not a storage/backup device.
Have you failed to maintain a backup copy of your computer?
You can e-mail them to yourself.

  • I transferred photos to my computer by cutting and pasting.  I have some on my phone that I didn't cut and paste.  Now they are can and I cannot find them anywhere on phone or computer

I transferred photos to my computer by cutting and pasting.  I have some on my phone that I didn't cut and paste.  Now they are gone and and I cannot find them anywhere on phone or computer. Are they lost forever.  I have done no back-up recently or icloud.  My daughters 8th grade graduation was on it.  I am devastated.

A lot of I should haves.  I had too many photos and while at work I opened up the 4 folders inside of the DCIM folder on my phone.  I didn't think it would be a big deal to just cut the photos and paste on my computer as I have  done this before.  i moved one folder that had 803 pictures in it and all was fine.  I ran out of time and unplugged phone and went home.  When I got to work this morning I was looking at my phone and realized I only had 34 pictures.  I knew there should have been 400+ there and they are gone.  Don't know what happened and if they were deleted off phone or computer I cannot see them anywhere.  I didn't back up (I know mistake) Lessoned learned I just hope there is something i can do!

  • HT4623 Updated my iPhone 3gs yesterday (1st time ever).  Backing up content to icloud but would not quit.  Screen would not disappear.  Finally disconnected phone from computer and lost EVERYTHING.  Can I get it back?

Updated my iPhone 3gs yesterday to ios 6 (first time ever).  Backed up my content to icloud, but it wouldn't quit.  Remained on that screen for HOURS.  Finally disconnected phone from computer.  Still would not go away--just the "circle of death."  Restarted phone and lost EVERYTHING (pics, contacts and apps).  Can I get them back?  Are they somewhere out in cyberspace or lost for good?

You're not alone. I am having similar problems with my Ipod 5th gen 30gb.
When I connect it to my laptop (Vista - basic) it is not recognised by itunes. Itunes simply locks up.
So far I have tried the following to no avail:
Checked my pc's device manager - it recognises the device and says it is functioning properly.
Checked the drivers to make sure they are upt to date.
Uninstalled & reinstalled a previous version of itunes (as it worked fine before the latest release).
    Reinstalled the latest itunes.
    Reset the ipod.
Put the ipod into disk mode and reconnected to itunes.
Have tried to use the windows tool to scan and fix any bad sectors but it fails to complete a scan without locking that up as well.
Placed into disk mode when fully charged and then allowed the battery to drain completely. Then reconnected ipod (in disk mode)and it still is not recognised and locks up itunes.
At this point I dont really want to part with another $300 odd dollars for a new one.

  • Photos from i phone to computer

I have a new i phone and tried to copy my photos off the i phone via i tunes to my computer.  It has wiped off all the photos in my photo library/album and left the ones I wanted to download ie the ones in camera roll that I took with the i phone itself.
    a) How do I get the photos back onto my phone off the computer
    b) how do I copy without losing the others in my cameral roll onto the computer
The outcome should be on both i phone and computer how do I do that please

" tried to copy my photos off the i phone via i tunes to my computer."
You cannot do this.  itunes has nothing to do with importing pics from your iphone.
    a)  Sync them.  Open itunes, connect iphone, select everything that you want to be on the iphone, sync
    b)  You import them as you would from any digital camera

  • Transfering pics not working HELP

i always transfer pics to my computer! now i have over 100 pics to transfer and my computer is saying there are no knew pics to trasfer?????? can someone help im running outta room

The pictures sync feature in iTunes is poorly designed and implemented.  I have never been able to get it to work reliably. Change or add a folder to sync pictures with and trouble ensues. Using photostream just adds another layer and point of failure. Make life easier and copy the files directly from your phone.  Once connected to your computer the pictures folder can be browsed like a mass storage device.  I hope this feature will be redone someday so it works like other iTunes features. Items added to the device sync to iTunes.  Items added to iTunes sync to your device. Sounds easy but it doesn't work reliably as you've already experienced the same problem many others face where iTunes can't determine the contents of one folder to the contents of another comparatively.  This seems to work well with everything except pictures.

  • Transferring from iphone to computer

My father has just received an iphone from his grandaughter and it still has her music and photos on it, which we want to put onto the computer - plus we want to save his contacts that he has put on there already.
Then we can put the phone back to factory settings to get rid of unwanted stuff and put the photos, music and contacts back on.
However, he doesn't have an apple account to synch it onto the computer and the phone is still under his grandaughters account.
I am worried that in the process of changing the phone from her account to a new one, we will lose the music, photos and contacts.
What to do, what to do???

Follow these directions, & you will be OK.
Launch iphoto(if you have it), connect your phone & import your photos into iphoto, only the photos in your camera roll can be imported this way, without third party software, you will lose the rest. Before you connect your phone to the new computer's itunes, launch itunes and make sure you "authorize" this computer(Store, Authorize this Computer). Next go to Address book and enter one contact, it can be a fake contact if you like. Do the same with iCal, again it can be a fake entry. When you connect your phone to itunes & get the pop up message, cancel out. Now, go up to File, Transfer purchases from this ipod to this computer. All of your purchased content will now be transferred to your new computer(music & apps> you will lose saved data in the apps). Make sure that you select manually manage & not auto sync when your phone is connected.
Now, if you do the above you will only lose photos that are not in the camera roll & music you may have ripped on your own. If you want to keep this stuff, then you will have to purchase 3rd party software like "phoneview", there are others, you can google to find more.
Now you can decide what you want to do. When you hit sync, if that's your choice, make sure you select merge during the sync process for ical & address book.
Remember, the iPhone only supports syncing with one computer at a time.

  • Help!!!! when i try to transfer my videos from phone to computer they upload as still images with sound!!!!

    hi all,
when i try and transfer my videos from phone to computer they are tranfering as still images with sound! I have tried going through i tunes! quick time and vlc player but they are all coming up the same!
I have bought several apps to aide with this but they all give the same results!
i find it hard to believe that i cannot transfer videos from iphone as i have a samsung monte too and that requires plugging in and selecting phone then selecting what i want transferring and then they are there to watch as i recorded them!!!!!
these are really important videos of my daughters first steps etc so really need to get this right! and as phone memory is low i cant do much on phone till i get rid of the vids!!!!
    thanks in advance

Plug your iPhone into your PC, when it is connected open my computer and you will see your iPhone under devices. Double click on your iPhone and a window will open and display a dics drive called "internal storage", double click on internal storage and a folder will appear (might be named DCIM), double click on that folder and another folder should appear. This folder(s) (their may be more then one) should contain all your pictures and videos taken on your iPhone. Simply select the video(s) you want to save to you computer by right clicking on the video, select copy and then paste it where you would like to save it on your pc (click and drag will also work). After you have transfered the videos to your pc see if they play properly.

  • Problems transferring pics

Managed to upload photos from a PC to my iPhone 4 but now having difficulty getting them on to my MacBook/iPhoto.  The iPhoto will not see any of these photos.  Can anyone help please?

Sending the pix to Pix place will involve text messaging  - that's how the pics get sent.  Alternately, you could send them to your email (so they would be on your computer without having to download through pix place - you just save them from the email).  Set up a text message, put your email address int eh TO: field, and attach the picture.  You can send one at a time.  You don't need a USB cable to do this.
Another option with the 5600 is BitPim (bitpim.org) You can see the internal memory of your phone as a drive when connected to your computer via USB, and copy all the pics to your computer that way.  The USB cable you have should do the trick.

In iTunes, try signing out of your Apple ID & then back in: click on iTunes Store on the left sidebar of iTunes, click on your Apple ID on the top right, sign out, sign back in.  Then try to sync your purchased music to your phone again.
