Transferring Pictures to iPod

I want to back up my pictures on my ipod (not photo). Can I sent them straight from iPhoto?

Alex,
You would have to enable disk use on your iPod and then drag the files to it. You will not be able to view the pictures themselves.
Post back if you're interested/for more instructions on how to do that or if you know how

  • Urgent advice please on transferring pictures to Ipod

I would like to download my pictures from my pc hard disc to Ipod, in order to delete them afterwards & create more space on my pc.
2 problems in doing this: 1) when I synchronize the picture folders to copy them onto Ipod, I suspect Itunes copies them somewhere again on my C-drive, since my C-drive runs out of storage space. So: where are these files stored so I can delete my previous attempts?
    2) In order to solve the above mentioned problem, I tried transferring files one by one, but the 2nd time I transfer pictures to Ipod, it will delete the pictures downloaded the first time.
Please help me, since my pc is running out of space and Ipod is not helping me to resolve the problem where I bought it for, in fact, it makes my problems worse!
    Thanks very much in advance!

Seems like your hard disk is close to completely full!
    1) To synchronise, iTunes has to optimise and prepare the files it transfers to your iPod and needs some space in your Temp directory while it prepares them, before it transfers them over. You can safely delete your Temp files as long as you have no installs in progress.
    2) What you say makes sense since you cannot manually add a file at a time to your photo library without deleting the old ones.
What I would do is to go to iTunes>Edit>Preferences>Music Tab and enable "Manually manage songs and playlists". Also enable Disk Use by ticking the box next to it.
    Click OK
Then open Windows Explorer through My Computer and you can copy the photos and any files you want to back up to a folder on your iPod disk drive. Check the folder and make sure everything you want is there. Then you can delete the files you do not want stored on your hard drive and create space.
IMPORTANT:: You have thus backed-up the data on your iPod - but if you lose it or it breaks down, you will lose all your precious irrecoverable data, so a good bet is to buy another hard drive, internal or external and ASAP copy the data to that hard drive or onto CDs so that you have a back-up. Also, Pictures or music thus stored as a back up is not seen via the iPod interface - you can only access the data through Windows Explorer (or Mac Finder).
    Good luck!!!

How can I transfdermy pictures from iPod touch for my pc?

Have a look here: Copying personal photos and videos from iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer
You'll have to use the software you would use for a digital camera, for example the camera wizard or similar programs.

  • Transferring pictures from ipod to the computer

I recently got an ipod in Australia and all my pictures were put on from the computer there. I can't seem to open my pictures now from my computer at home. When I click on the photos folder from my ipod, only the "thumbs" folder and "photo database" are in there but I cannot open them in any program to see the pictures.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you.

  • Transfering pictures from Ipod to computer

Hi, I have my Ipod Touch (3rd generation) for 1 year , but I had a problem with my pc and I have lost all my stuff, including pictures, videos and musics. So I wanted to know if I could transfer my saved photos from my Ipod to the computer. I really need help, I have tried everything...
    Thanks for your help.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/pics/docs/music/etc.
Have you failed to do this?
The music/vid/pic sync is one way - computer to ipod.
The exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
You can e-mail the photo library pics to yourself. They will not be of the original quality.

  • Transfering pictures to Ipod.. plz help

ok..i have sweet pics on my ipod nano but i had to reinstall windows... so i lost the same sweet pics from my comp...i want to add more sweet pics but the only way i can do that is by using itunes and going to ipod options...and synchronizing photos from...the problem is.. when i click there.. it sais all the pictures in my ipod will be deleted and replaced with the pics on the folder i have chosen =/ is there any way to add pictures to my ipod without deleting them all from my ipod?

There should already be a folder with th pictures that are on the iPod so select choose from file, and pick the file called "ipod picture cache" and the name of the file you want your sweet pics from.

Transferring pictures to ipad in the preview album pictures are fine when I view individually they are just grey screen

IPods have been designed by Apple to be a one way street.  Mac to iPod, not iPod to Mac.  That said, there is software available that addresses that issue.  You may post your query on the iPod forum or search the discussions section for these forums and I am certain that you will find several options.
    Ciao.

  • Pictures for ipod

Can anyone tell me how to import my pictures onto my itunes...I can get my videos on there but not pics. Thanks!

You can't import photos to iTunes, it is only used to set the preferences for updating an iPod: Transferring Pictures to Your iPod
Do you mean album artwork? For tracks imported from CD you can manually add artwork:

  • How to upload pictures to Ipod nano

    Hi there,
I feel a little ******** about asking this question but I couldn't figure out how to upload pictures on my Ipod nano.
I tried drag and drop and it didn;t show the pictures.
    help me please

One way is to create a folder called "iPod Photos" or something similar in your Pictures folder. Under the photo preferences for the iPod, point iTunes to syncronise from there. Copy any photos you want to see on the iPod to this folder, if you keep a dedicated folder like this, you won't need to edit your normal pictures folder just for the iPod.
You can also synconise from iPhoto, for more detail on the various methods have a look at the tutorial: Transferring Pictures to Your iPod

  • Transferring photos from iPod touch to Mac Pro

I used my iPod touch as a hard-drive while on holidays (transferred pictures from my camera to the iPod). When I got back home, I wanted to transfer the pictures to my desktop but my iPod does not show up on the desktop (this option is selected through the finder). The iPod will show up in iTunes and iPhoto, though it was a third party device I used (zoomit) to transfer the pictures as they were on SD cards.
If I could see my iPod on my desktop, I could transfer them manually but I'm at a lost as to how to get it to show up.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

If you were transferring your pictures directly to your touch, that's a new one to me. Normally when you plug your camera or SD card into your Mac, iPhoto opens and you copy your photos there. Photos are transferred via syncing with iTunes to your touch. If that is what you did, then your photos are in iPhoto waiting for you.
As others have said, your touch is not treated as a disk drive like the iPod classic is. The touch is not going to show up on your desktop, it is only going to be seen by iTunes. If you have an iPod classic, there are several ways to transfer your camera contents to the classic.

  • Transfering pictures+composing albums

ive just sussd out how to transfer my songs off my cd i have of 60 albums in mp3 mode, onto my ipod classic.the prob i have now is transfering pictures from my pc as i dont see anything saying pictures on itunes.also how do i compose songs on my ipod into different albums.

Here's a simple "How To" on downloading photos from a folder on your hard disk to an iPod:
1 Create a folder on your hard drive to hold the photos you want on your iPod. Call it iPod Photos for example
2 Drag the photos you want from your usual picture folder into the folder you just created
2 Open iTunes, select your iPod in the iTunes Source list.
3 Click the Photos tab and select “Synch photos from.”
4 Choose “Choose Folder” from the pop-up menu and select the iPod photos folder you created.
5 When you want to change what photos are on the iPod just add or remove the photos from the folder you have made and syncronise the the iPod
iTunes will add "optimised", small TV quality versions of the photos to the iPod for you to view. if you want to include full size photos so you can move them from one computer to another check the "Include Full Resolution photos" box. When you want to change the photos on the iPod you simply add or remove the photos you want from your iPod Photos folder and sync the iPod.
If the folder you are syncing from has sub folders you can choose the update option to sync from selected folders they will show in a box below the main setting. This allows you to use the selected folders option and choose one or more of the sub folders. For example you may choose to sync from My Pictures and inside My Pictures you have folders for different subjects. You can then choose which of those subject folders you want to update to the iPod or you might want to make a folder in there especially for iPod photos. You can drag these folders into an order of your choice.

Ipod touch 4 i can no longer watch movies, transferred to the ipod, on videos app it simply says loading and then stops. On my ipad mini with older ios it still works. So how can I fix this I have tried converting videos into different formats but it will not work.
Is IOS 8 really appropriate with Ipod Touch 4, if the older Ipods do not have the capability then why are we prompted to install new operating systems.
    Thanks.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all videos and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
