Transferring purchases from Itunes to my Ipod

I purchased new music from Itunes. It is in my Library and will not transfer over to my Ipod. I did get a new computer that operates on Windows Vista. How can I get my old music and new music from my library to transfer onto my Ipod.

You possibly have to authorize your purchases again:
Either play one of your purchased tracks through itunes itself (you'll be asked for authorizaton then)
Or use iTunes Menu -> Store -> Authorize Computer

  • Why can I not add the audiobooks I purchased from itunes to my ipod

Why can I not add the audiobooks I purchased from itunes to my ipod. My ipod is 60 gb version 1.3. I think a 5th generation

    Kristy,
Is your iPod configured to sync audiobooks?  To check, plug your iPod in and when it appears in iTunes locate it's audibooks tab and make sure it is set to them.

  • I cannot download music purchased from iTunes store to iPod

All of a sudden when I connect my 2G Nano I get an error message that says, "Some of the items in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod "your name iPod" Because your iPod software is too old. Go to the Summary in iPod preferences and click Update to get the latest iPod software update."
When I click OK The "Update" button is greyed out and I cannot select it. On the Summary tab under "Version" it says "your iPod is up to date."
What I noticed is that any songs in my playlists that were purchased through the iTunes music store were not transfered to the iPod. The difficult work around is to burn those songs to a CD and re-import them as mp3's. I tried deauthorizing and reauthorizing my computer which did not work. I also rebuilt my iTunes music library which did not work.
I belive when I irst set up this new iPod about 3 weeks ago this was not a problem and purchased songs transferred from iTunes to the iPod but now they don't.
    Any Suggestions?

Also I forgot to mention that when all this was happening, I wanted to Retore my iPod but this option was also greyed out in the summary section and it wouldnt let me do it, therefore I hooked it up to my Windows XP machine and was able to restore the iPod. Now it was formatted for Windows. I hooked it up to my Mac machine and got all the same problems but it downloads everything from itunes to the iPod except purchased music.
So I opened iPod Updater and it said that it cannot update the iPod because it if formated for Windows. It also says if I now want to Restore it, I need to connect using a firewire cable whereas before I was using a USB cable because it said the Nano is not compatible with a firewire cable.
    Arghhhh.

hi, trying to transfer my purchased music from itunes to my ipod.  just downloaded itunes 11 and using a new ipod. in the past with itunes 9, my devise appreared in the informaiton bar and i was able to drag music into it.  with this new version, i dont see my devise, and not sure how to get my music on there.
    thanks,

First things first do you have the menu bar on? Second, have you tried plugging the usb into a different port? ALSO once device is seen in itunes, go to the summary tab & click manage music manually. You should still be able to click & drag.

  • Unable to transfer purchases from itunes back to ipod

I am unable to deauthorize my old computer as it was a work computer and I am no longer with that company. I authorized my new comp and transfered my purchases to the new itunes. However, when I try to sync the information from itunes back to my ipod classic I get a warning message:
"Some of the items in the itunes Library were not copied to the ipod because you are not authorized to play them on this computer" I have 118 items unable to be retransfered. HELP!
How do I sync songs/movies from limewire to my ipod?

have you tried to deauthorize your old computer...because you should be able to by going to store, clicking deauthorize computer, and then putting in the account info from the old computer.
um..find one of the songs that can't be transfered. does it play in itunes? if not, jut reauthorize it with whatever account it's from.
are the songs from limewire in your itunes library??

  • How do I download an album I purchased from itunes to my ipod?

I bought an album from iTunes that I want to sync or download to my iPod. When I looked for directions on how to do this, it told me to go into iTunes, click on Music, and then click on Sync. But when I click on Music on the lefthand side, it is only a choice between Music, Videos, etc...Please, I know the answer is obvious, but I cannot figure out how to do it!

    1) Plug in your iPod.
    2) Wait for an 'iPod' button to appear at the top right corner of iTunes.
    3) Open that.
    4) Go to the 'Music' tab.
    5) Sync music.
WARNING: This WILL delete all your music you had on your iPod prior to this.
    To add songs without syncing:
    1) Create an iTunes playlist with the songs you wish to add.
    2) Repeat steps 1 - 3 above.
    3) Go to the 'On this iPod' tab.
    4) Select your playlist you just made on the bar at the bottom of the list beside the 'Autofill from...' prompt.
    5) Press 'Autofill'.
