Transferring purchases to a new apple ID account?

I just purchased a MobileMe account with apple and would like to use it as my new apple ID with purchases via the iTunes store.
Thing is, i have ALOT of purchased music through my old apple ID.. i tried to go in the account settings and update the email address, but i received a response telling me that my MobileMe email address cannot be used to replace the existing email, as the MobileMe account has its own apple ID in its own right.
I want to purchase music with my new Apple ID, but will i loose all my purchased music on my old account? can i have music across 2 apple ID's synced in with my iPhone and iPod's??

Sorry to hijack your thread, however I am having an issue because I have changed IDs and now I can't play some of the music I purchased. Last year I changed my apple ID, however I didn't notice until today that I can't play music purchased with my old ID. When I attempt to play a song purchased under my old ID, I am prompted to authorize this machine (I have changed computers since I changed my ID as well), however when I enter my password, it gets rejected because it no longer exists. Am I up a creek, can I add a new account using my old ID, or is there something Apple can do???

I don't think you understood what I wrote. You don't HAVE to pay for everything if you are happy with using the other account for updates, etc. But if you don't want to do that then you will have to buy new copies of everything for the new account. There's only one purchase item per account, but you can redownload an item in the account many times.
The idea is this:
One computer, multiple devices, one Apple ID.
One user, multiple devices, one Apple ID.
The basic idea is that each user has an Apple ID under which he/she can manage multiple devices on a single computer.
Once you step outside of that model you create such problems as not being able to use or update apps purchase under one Apple ID when using a different Apple ID. Or not being able to easily sync one device on more than one computer.

I currently have an apple ID that i have used for many years of ABC. This will hold all the apps and songs etc that i have purchased over the years. So i can currently download apps from app store using the new "purchased option" from the "Cloud".
I have just set up and wish to make a new account my main account for iCloud and all purchases. This is XYZ . How do i get all the purchase history and account actions from ABC apple id, to map across to the new XYZ apple id.
My objective is to log into my iphone on itunes, app store and icloud using the new XYZ apple id, but still be able to view and download any and all previous purchases held against the ABC apple id.
Can I/Apple port this account over so all history of purchases on ABC apple id, is now held against the new XYZ apple id.

RE all those that say it cannot be done or why do i want to or need to...
When my phone (on iOS 5) had the old/main apple ID logged in and used, the iCloud page where you can enable iCloud for apps, mail, notes etc - it would not allow me to turn on mail or notes for iCloud. Said i needed to create an iCloud/Mobileme address to use these features.
When i created new mobile/iCloud account today it worked fine for all iCloud options on my iPhone. Also, the emailed address for mobileme/icloud was more to my needs/liking.
The new mobileme/icloud ID created today cannot have my main email address added to it as it says my current/main apple id is that email address.
Any suggestions?

Hey guys, I recently made a new Apple ID account for my new MacBook Pro. However, I have over $97 on my old account that I got on a gift card. I was wondering if there is any way that I can transfer that money from that account into my new one? Thanks for the help in advance!

Welcome to the Apple community.
Unfortunately you cannot transfer credits from one account to another. Nor can you purchase gift vouchers to send to your new account with a credit balance. I believe the only way you can utilise your credit balance is to use it up.

I created a new apple id account so that I didnt have to share my icloud with my brother, if i plug my phone into my computer onto my new account and sync it, then delete my old icloud from my phone will my new icloud be backed up and have all my pics ect

Providing your Apple ID is not a .me or a .Mac address, you can change it with Apple and continue to use your account.
Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
Once who have done this you can then correct it on your mobile device.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
When you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
If however, your Apple ID was a .me or a .Mac address, then you will need to create a new account, follow the instructions above for deleting your account on your mobile device and then tap the "create Apple ID" button to create a new account.

How to reset your Apple ID password.

My Apple ID was disabled so I made a new Apple ID account and it is still saying it's disabled, what do I do?

I have a iPhone 4s and I was trying to download an app but it kept saying 'Your Apple ID has been disabled.' I'm not quite sure why this is happening but I googled what to do and it said I should make a new Apple ID account, I did this and then I tried downloading the app again after changing all my email and passwords to my new Apple ID account but it still said 'Your Apple ID is disabled.' and I don't know what to do from there as I have done everything it's told me to do!

You need a valid credit card even for free apps. You won't be charged.

Sorry... But... You cannot use other countries itunes stores.
You must be within the Country with a Valid Billing Address and Credit Card for that Country to use the iTunes Store of that Country..

Was the gift card issued in the same country as you are trying to create your account in, and you are currently in that country ? You need to be in a country in order to use its store.

After opening the email it shoud of had you enter the Apple ID and password. Using certian web browser's can cause errors. You can adjust securty settings (big pain) or you use another browser. Using Firefox or Safari should do the trick.
Let me know if using Firefox or Safari resolved it.

No, all content that you download from the store is tied to the account that downloaded it, it can't be transferred to another account

I have lost the password and security questions to my current apple ID account. The password was changed sometime in between updates and I can't figure out what it was changed to. (I wasn't the one to change it). I can hardly do anything with my current apple ID, so I created a new one (to post this question first). I can't update or get anything new.
Will I be able to transfer or keep my music/apps/purchases from my OLD account and put them on the NEW account, without losing anything? I've bought quite a lot of music, and really don't want to have to buy them again.

No. Any content purchased from the iTunes Store is permanently associated to the account from which it was originally purchased.

That wouldn't be possible, the new Apple ID would have no idea about the old Apple ID. It's also a bad idea to create a new Apple ID. Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with another Apple ID with a new Apple ID.
