Transferring Ratings from Bridge Pre-CC to Bridge CC

I assigned a rating of 1-5 to 4,000 images in Bridge 5.0.2.4 which is pre-Bridge CC.  Then I "upgraded" to Bridge CC.  When I open the images under Bridge-CC, the rating did not transfer over.  I would like to use Bridge CC but would not like to go through and rate the 4,000 images again.  How can I get the ratings to transfer with the images?

What files have you rated, the normal image files have the ratings included in the XMP metadata and should be read by any version of Bridge and most other photo applications.
Having DNG the rating is also in the file itself. If you have Raw files make sure you have set the option to use 'Sidecar XMP files' set to on instead of central data base. These are hidden files in Bridge but should show in the folder of your system having the same filename as the original but with the extension '.xmp'

  • Transferring Ratings FROM FILE OR iPOD! Need Help!

Ok So I reformatted my hard drive but I backed up all my music and the .xml file called "iTunes-Library.xml" and also another text file called "iTunes-SongInfoLibrary.txt"
I was hoping that these would return my new iTunes back to normal when I did the fresh install, except they havent. I have my playlists back but not my ratings!
Is there any way that I can either get my ratings from my iPod to iTunes or from "iTunes-SongInfoLibrary.txt" to iTunes?
    Please help a.s.a.p.!!

can anyone give me any info on transferring ratings!?? even a yes or no answer would be sufficient!! thanks in advance

  • Transferring Ratings from Windows

    Hi,
So I'm new to Mac and Aperture. I have transferred a large number of images from Windows to Mac that were all rated in windows. I would like to preserve those ratings. Anyone know a way of doing this?
What I have found is that the Windows ratings are in the Image files, not as the standard MAC 'Ratings' but they are there as an IPTC Data field called 'StarRating'. So I can add this to the metadata view field and see those ratings. If I could Search on this field I could then search for these and bulk update them. However in the search field this 'StarRating' field does not show up as an searchable field anywhere.
    Anyone know any solutions?
    thanks
    J

There's no way to get this information into Aperture for RAW photos.
For JPEG/TIFF files, often the rating info can be stored in the files itself, so there's a chance, albeit small.

  • Transfering Pics From Broken Pre

I dropped my Pre in a drink and fried the screen. I now have a new one and am did the backup. It did retrieve all my apps and contacts, however, it did not restore my pictures. The phone works, but i have no way of seeing the screen.
Question is: How can i retrieve all my pictures from the broken phone and either move them to my computer or my new Pre?

You can directly transfer photos and videos via WiFi between the iDevices, PCs, and Macs with an App like Photo Transfer.
    See: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/photo-transfer-app-easily/id365152940?mt=8
Or you can upload the photos and videos to the Dropbox service using the Dropbox App on the iDevice, PC, or Mac and download them to the another device using the Dropbox App on that device.

  • Transfering ratings from Itunes files from PC

    Hello all,
I recently purchased a Mac Book Pro after being a life-long PC user. I used Itunes on my PC and saved all of of my mp3s on my external hard drive, so when i got my Mac I simply pointed the Music Directory to the external drive and added the folder to the Library. All seemed to work, including the album art. The only thing that did not display was the ratings i had set on my PC. Is this an XML issue? I would love any help or insight.. thank you!

I actually have the same exact problem, I have had my music on a PC for a long time, but i just recently purchased a MacBook Pro. I easily know how to transfer the music and have even figured out how to get the playlists that i had on the PC, but does anyone know how to transfer the ratings for all the songs? I have hours and hours worth of rated music that I desperately do not want to have to re-rate.

Same way as with any other digital camera.
"Do I need to use Iphoto? "
    Yes.

It does. All macs come with iphoto.

  • Sound Buzz when transferring file from Trash to desktop

I get the occasional Sound Buzz when transferring file from Trash to desktop
Its a Short "grounding" buzz similar to slowly plugging an electric guitar when the amp is on, but its loud !
I am just using the internal sound,

Brett - thanks for that input, but as stated in my original post this happens whether I do the copy within Finder, or from inside Bridge.
Your note did inspire me to try one thing though: I UN-checked my Bridge preference to export caches to folders when possible, then I went to the folder I was trying to move (on the NAS) and did Tools > Cache > Purge Cache. I found that if the folder contained only files and no other folders, then I could move the folder to my desktop. However, if the folder in question had nested folders, then I still run into the same conflict.
Question: since this conflict does not happen when moving a folder from one computer to another computer (but only from the NAS to a computer), I'm not sure how your logic holds when you say "Bridge is trying to cache the files you are moving and creates a ".BridgeCacheT" file before the remote version is copied"
To answer your other question, we use AFP or at least is says "afp://server.local" when we connect. My apologies for not being an expert on this. The icon of the NAS on the desktop looks like the icons for the other computers.
Thanks, I'm still trying to solve this. It's really become a major problem for us as we now have to drag files individually (rather than by folder) when we want to do something with them. -- Jim

  • Message bridge exception when using bridging to MQ

hi ... was wondering if anyone could suggest what might be causing this.
I have a weblogic 8.1 queue bridged to a MQ5.3 queue. I was successfully able
to put messages (using the container to handle the XA) into the weblogic Q and
have the bridge successfully pass the msg onto the MQ Q. However I have started
getting the following error msgs on random occasions.(and the bridge is not able
to transfer the msgs across). Any suggestions as to what might be causing this?
Please let me know if you need any additional info.

  • How do I transfer ratings from one library to another library?

My home iTunes Library has 37,000+ songs, with 3/4 of them rated. I have a much smaller library at work, which is mostly a subset of my home library. As I rate my home library, I have been transfering my ratings by making a .pdf of newly rated tunes and adding the ratings to my work library. Since my latest iTunes update I am no longer able to do this. I can save the playlist as a .pdf, but it has a blank column for ratings.
Is there an easier way to get my ratings from home to work?

Best way is using the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ -
you can export form one library and import into the other one but this does not get all metadata or versions

Does Adobe Photoshop Elements come bundled with Adobe Bridge?  Or is Bridge a separate purchase?

Apparently there was a change in Elements 9.
    From the PsE forum:
Bridge is no longer included with PSE. If you buy PSE anywhere except the Mac App Store you get Organizer instead. The app store version doesn't have organizer.
    and from a link therein:
A lot of Mac folks are unhappy about Adobe’s decision to include Organizer with Elements 9 in place of Adobe Bridge, which came with previous Mac versions. (The Organizer used to be just for Windows.) If you have an older version of PSE that included Bridge, you can still use it with Elements 9…

Instead of using the "Assist Me" mode, you will want to use the "Manual Setup" mode to configure both AirPorts for an extended wireless network.
Dynamic WDS - Extending a Wireless Network Setup
If practical, place the base stations in near proximity to each other during the setup phase. Once done, move them to their desired locations.
Open AirPort Utility, and then, select the base station that will connect to the Internet.
Choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu, or double-click the base station to open the configuration in a separate window. Enter the base station password if necessary.
Click AirPort in the toolbar, and then, click Wireless.
Choose “Create a wireless network” from the Wireless Mode pop-up menu, and then, select the “Allow this network to be extended” checkbox.
Next, select the base station that will extend this network, and then, choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu, or double-click the base station to open its configuration in a separate window. Enter the base station password if necessary.
Choose “Extend a wireless network” from the Wireless Mode pop-up menu, and then, choose the network you want to extend from the Network Name pop-up menu.
Enter the base station network and base station password if necessary.
Click Update to update the base station with new network settings.

  • TRANSFERRING MUSIC FROM IPOP TO PC

I had a hard drive crash and I lost all my dowloaded music from I Tunes library. I am trying to determine if there is a way to transfer my music collection from my nano to my new pc (Inspiron 531 deskstop). I shudder at the thought of re-loading 75 CD's individually back onto my pc as I really don't want to try that. Please help! Thanks! Gary

For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
Find out how to do that here.
How to copy iTunes purchases from an iPod to a computer.
For all other non purchased content (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it is a little more involved than other methods.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
    SharePod is also freeware.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists.
There is also CopyTrans. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.

  • Transferring music from IPOD to Laptop

I no longer have access to the computer I originally set up my IPOD with. How do I get files to transfer from my IPOD classic (30GB)to my new computer? When I open the IPOD in My computer, I can find no music folder.

For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
Find out how to do that here.

For all other non purchased content (your own CDs etc), check out the instructions/suggestions here.

  • Transfering music from ipod to the computer

i just got a new computer, and before i got my new computer my old one got messed up and i lost all my files. So is there a way that i can take the contents of my ipod and just transfer them to my new computer so that i may continue to add new stuff to it?

  • Root Bridge can see NonRoot Bridges but does not Associate

This is a point-to-multipoint bridging LAN for networking eight serial devices (air quality monitors) to a central Windows box for real-time wireless data acquisition.  Thus far, I have configured a single Aironet 1310 as the root bridge (RB:  150.100.0.2, 255.255.0.0) at the Windows box (PC: 150.100.0.1, 255.255.0.0) and three Aironet 1310s as non-root bridges (NRB1:  150.100.0.3; NRB2:  150.100.0.4; NRB3:  150.100.0.5).  When the system's working, each of the NRBs will connect to an ethernet-to-serial device server with its own IP, and the serial devices will connect to the device servers as COM2-COM9, respectively.  Each node in this network has an external antenna, an omni at the RB and directional/Yagi antennae at the NRBs.  Distances are short, hundreds of meters, so power will not be the limiting factor.  (We could have done this with Zigbee but decided to overdesign for reliability.)
After assigning IP addresses to all four bridges using the command-line interface, and with the RB connected to an ethernet hub/switch, we configured each of the NRBs by connecting them to the same hub/switch and using the browser interface.  We used the document at
    http://www.cisco.com/application/pdf/paws/68087/bridges_pt_to_pt.pdf
and followed it to the letter to configure first the RB, then the NRBs.
After configuring all four bridges, and while all four were still hard-wired together through the hub/switch, all four bridges showed the proper associations in the "State" column of the web interface under "Association."  To test the wireless links we disconnected the three NRBs from the hub/switch by removing the ethernet cables, leaving the RB connected to the hub/switch (naturally) to maintain connection to the host PC.  We then refreshed all associations.
On the RB web interface, all three NRBs showed up with the proper IP addresses, but the "State" fields showed "Attempting Association" or something like that rather than "EAP-Associated."
All three NRB web interfaces disappeared because the links were lost.  I tried to PING each of the IP addresses using a DOS command, but all three timed out.
So, in short, the RB can "see" all three NRBs and "knows" they're there; but the association does not complete.  What are my options for diagnosing the problem?
    Thanks in advance...

    Chieu Dinh,
For the non-root bridge, is there a way to set the scan? I can see in the log file shows that the scan is starting when I changed from Install to non-root bridge. Once I am on the non-root bridge role, I don't see any more the log for scanning.
I don't know about any command that controls the scanning interval when the bridge is in non-root mode. I also don't think it logs every time it goes into a scan cycle because I think they're pretty close together, maybe at most a few seconds.
My question is "is there some ways that I can initiate the scan on the non-root bridge?
You can shut/no-shut the non-root bridge radio interface. Every time you do this it intiates a new scan immediately.
can I use the "parent" command on the point-to-multipoint environment?
As far as I know, yes. I think the only mode parent doesn't work in is repeater mode. For repeaters, you don't configure a list of parents, you only configure one single MAC peer.
An added thought: if you are having trouble with the bridge link coming up, then there is likely either a signal or a configuration issue (and chasing the scan interval probably won't net you any solutions). I've found that a great way to narrow the troubleshooting is to configure the bridges on the ground at close range (maybe 50-100 feet apart, not right up against each other) to control for signal. Once you have a working configuration and you know for sure that the bridges will come up, then install them in your outdoor locations. Keep in mind that when outdoors, a lot of factors can play into signal claritiy and usability (trees/foliage, distance, LOS/fresnel, earth curvature, weather, noise and interference, etc.). Also, unfortunately for the 1310s, the 2.4GHz space is really congested in most populated areas so they are not a reliable solution unless you're out in the country. Always survey first.
