Transferring ringtones from laptop to BB

I subscribed to MonsterTones to download ringtones. When accessing the link, the web site is blocked by my company's web policy. MonsterTones responded by saying I could download the link to my PC and then transfer. The file comes across as an .aspx file and the BB Media Manager won't accept the file. Am I trying to do the impossible? Interestingly enough MonsterTones advised me they wouldn't refund my money because "it wasn't their fault."  Great customer service. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

what MonsterTones says, is that you can download the ringtone to your PC, and then transfer the ringtone from your PC to your BB. A ringtone is usually a mp3 file (mp3) or a MID file (midi file). the aspx file is not a ringtone. It is the server program that sends you the ringtone. ASPX stands for ASP extension and ASP is like PHP, it's a programming language. Not a ringtone.
Using your desktop browser, you must find a way to buy the ringtone and download it onto your PC.

  • I'm having trouble transferring songs from Laptop to devices

I'm having trouble transferring songs from my laptop to both my iPad 2 and iPhone 5. I just added a new album to my library, and where before I used to select the songs I wanted to add to my devices, and then drag and drop them, this doesn't appear to work. I watched the tutorial and it says there is an 'Add to' option when you clkick on the device name in the top right hand corner. That doesn't appear on mine at all. Completely confused and nearing the end of my tether!

Make sure your device iOS is updated:

  • Transferring Photos From Laptop to ipad mini

How do I transfer photos from laptop to my ipad mini?

You can e-mail them to yourself.
You can upload them to something like dropbox then download them onto your ipad
If you get the camera connection kit and an SD card you can put the photos onto the SD card (there is a naming convention to follow) then export them off the SD card onto your iPad.
There are photo syncing apps although I don't have one to recommend
You can use iTunes to sync them onto your ipad (although what you sync on via iTunes you must use iTunes to sync off when you're done with them so it may/may not be the best way for you)

  • Transferring ringtones from a 3GS to iphone 4

I got an iphone 4 today, I was able to transfer most of my data from my 3GS to the 4, however i can not get my ringtones. there is no option for ringtones when the 4 is plugged in but when i plug in the 3 they are still there. someone plz help! its becoming extremely frustrating!!!  thank you

Not sure what you mean by there is no option for ringtones when your iPhone is plugged in.
The various tabs for your iPhone 4 sync preferences with iTunes are the same as the various tabs for your iPhone 3GS sync preferences with iTunes. This does not change and is not contingent on the iPhone model. There is a ringtones tab for your iPhone 4 sync preferences with iTunes which is where ringtones available in your iTunes library are selected to be transferred to the iPhone.

  • Problem transferring video from laptop to Z1

    Hello,
A couple of days ago i installed sony pc companion and media go. I transferred a video up to 2gb from my laptop to Z1 in about 5 minutes... Now there was a new update from Media Go i think 2.5..and everything is transferring very slow...transferring a video of 2gb takes more than one hour....please help...my laptop also makes allot noise when transferring...
I tried to delete sony pc companion and Media go...and just drag and drop into internal storage..but i get the same problem...it really takes long times to transfer..it shouldn't be like this....first everything went very smooth...

Did you get a dialog to convert the video first before copying? If yes, and you confirmed, encoding long videos could take ages on weak computer, so perhaps this is not an issue at all..
The problem with this conversion is that not all formats are readable by default Movies app in the phone, so it asks you to convert it before the transfer "on-the-fly". This takes some time (long if it is some full movie). But if you use another player, like MXVideo for example, you don't really need to convert it, and the transfer will then go very fast (just copying).
I thought it is the driver issue, because there is such problem too (Media Go acts more like a snail than a media manager, and it happens with PCC active simultaneously).
When everything have failed already, try to read the manual.
Kudos mean I am helpful. Am I for you? Then support me back

  • Transferring ringtones from my 3g to my 4s

I have a new 4s.  All data seems to have transferred from my 3g except my ringtones.  Did not buy them from iTunes.  How do I transfer them over?

Connect your iPhone 3G and back it up, transfer all files from the device to iTunes, the it should show up on your library, there shoud be Music, Movies, TV Shows, Apps, Tones, Radio and maybe a few more, if you have transfered your ringtones successfuly then it should show up when you click on Tones, then connect your iPhone 4s, click on your device under "Devices" then look for a tab that says tones, the check the box to sync your tones, after you've synced it, it should show up on your iPhone 4s

  • Transferring photos from laptop to Itunes

I had to do a systems restore on Iphone. The only thing that bothered me was losing the photos, i found most of them stored on my laptop. Is there any way of transferring them to Itunes and thus onto my Iphone when i sync?

They don't get physically copied into iTunes, instead when you have your iPhone connected to iTunes, one of the tabs on the iPhone's window should be photos - you should then be able to specify which folder(s) to sync photos from. The iPhone iOS 4 manual (page 60) says :
    +Photos Pane+
+On a Mac, you can sync photos with Aperture or iPhoto 4.0.3 or later, and videos with iPhoto 6.0.6 or later. On a PC, you can sync photos with Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 or later. You can also sync photos and videos from any Mac or PC folder that contains images.+
As I don't have a Mac (and therefore don't have Aperture nor iPhoto) and I don't have PS Elements on my pc I have to sync from folders, which have to be subfolders off the same 'master' folder i.e. I can't sync c:\folder1\pics1 and c:\folder2\pics2, I would first have to move/copy pics2 to be a subfolder of 'folder1'

  • Transferring library from laptop to pc

Don't know if I'm really dumb but...I installed itunes with my pod last year on my work laptop. Just used it to transfer my cd collection to my pod. I'd like now (just got a pc and broadband) to get my library off my laptop onto my pc (Windows XP). I'm not a 'technical' person but a)can it be done? and b)how? . I'll be eternally grateful 'cos the apple store is too intimidating...cheers.

b How to copy and move your music files from one computer to another
This is the conceptual framework with related and important links. Apply it to your specific situation and resources.
The safest and best way (in my opinion) to move your Library to a new computer is to actually clone the entire ‘iTunes’ folder structure, rather than just copying the song files. By copying the entire ‘iTunes’ folder and all sub-folders, you capture not only the music files, but the all-important .ITL Library file (located directly in the ‘iTunes’ folder), which contains all the data about your songs (playlists, ratings, comments, playcounts, last played, etc). See: What are the iTunes Library files?
Install iTunes on the new computer. Then go back to your old computer and move the "iTunes" folder which usually resides inside your "My Music" folder from the old computer to the
    i exact same place
on the new one. When you open iTunes on the new computer it will behave exactly the same way it did on the old, Play counts, ratings, comments and all!
b It is usually safer moving files between computers with the same version of iTunes!!
This process works best when cloning exact versions of iTunes, your music files and the iTunes meta-data files. It is also important to note that there is a new naming convention for the iTunes .ITL database file when moving from version 4.8 to 4.9. The ITL file is upward compatible, but not downward compatible (4.8 will choke on a 4.9 ITL file).
Here's a list of methods to copy and move your music files from one computer to another:
    1) Use an External Hard Drive (ExHD) to move the complete files and Folder structures from one computer to another (my preferred option). You can clone’ the entire ‘iTunes’ folder structure in one very easy step.
    2) Connect the two computers through a router. Or use a Crossover (for PC-to-PC) or Direct (for Mac/Mac or Mac/PC) Ethernet cable (See: http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/3001.html). Copy files between computers.
    3) Connect the two computers via a USB-to-USB Network Bridge. See: here as an example.
    4) Use the iPod as a transfer device, as this extensive Apple link explains. This well written process also works fine while using any other data transfer medium (ExHD, Flash Drive, DVD, CD, Zipp, Jazz, etc.). It will be a bit easier if your iPod (or copy medium) has a larger capacity than your music collection, otherwise you will need to perform multiple copy/move transfers.
    5) Burn several DVDs (at 4.7GBs each) with your music data files and load them onto the new computer. Re-writable DVDs are more cost effective (if your DVD drive can manage these types).
    6) Burn 6x more on CDs (at 700MB each) than in #5 above and load the files on the new computer. Re-writable CDs are more cost effective (if your CD drive can manage these types).
    7) Use a larger USB Flash drive (1GB - 4GB) to move the files. Best if the flash drive is larger than your Library, otherwise you will need multiple copy/move transfers.

  • Transfering Pictures from Laptop to itunes - Iphone will not accept

I have pictures loaded from a digital camera onto my Vista OS laptop. The pictures were loaded in the windows application for pictures.
The pictures were transferred to itunes however when I went to sync - the error came back that Iphone can not view pictures.
The odd thing about this is when I loaded a Iphone using an xp laptop with the same pictures it worked. I have not been able to figure out why I can not load successfully from the vista OS. Any ideas?

I believe I read somewhere that subfolders can only be used down to one level, i.e. main and one subfolder.

  • IOS 5 does not copy all ringtone, how do I get the ringtone from laptop?

I have two ringtones with the same name (almost), in my iTunes on my laptop.
How do I get the other ringtone onto my phone?  Syncing with the phone does not work.
The phone does see the ringtone on the laptop, but it will (the phone) allow me to purchase
It again. The names of the ringtones:
    1) The Pink Panther (seen)
    2) Pink Panther Theme (Mastertone Remix Version) (not seen)
The second ringtone worked well in previous ios version.

I had this problem and managed to sort it.
In iTunes I unticked syncing on ringtones and it said it was removing them from the device.
I then dragged and dropped them from the library to the device and it put them all on.

  • Lightroom 4.4; transfering images from laptop to desktop

I am using lightroom 4.4.  I have a more than 10000 images on my desktop computer.  I have just bought a laptop and installed lightroom on it.  When travelling I intend to perform basic library functions (deleting poor images, create file names for photos, add keywords and other meta data info) with the laptop. my lap top has limited storage, so I will be using an external drive.  I have two questions:  1. how can use the laptop external drive as my temporary catalog so as not to use up space on my SSD drive?  2.  what do I need to do ensure when I transfer the photos from the laptop external drive to my desktop catalog that file names, keywords and metadata etc are included in the transfer.

Q1 is easy to answer: You can open a specific catalog (at least in LR 5.x) and also create a new one, of course on any drive You'd like.
Q2 is much harder; I'm just starting to solve this for my own.
One solution could be to have the catalog on some private (Own-) Cloud space while the pictures reside on the HD. Dunno if that can be done, but with my reasonably fast connections I will try that anyway.
A much more complicated way would be tu use DBSchemaCrawler and diff (from the cygwin-collection) together with some scripting elements. Those could be the integrated LUA from LR, Windows Powershell or bash (also from cygwin), and probably the native sqlite commandline utility. :-/
Either way, the pictures have to have the same drive letter and path on both computers, since this root is stored in the DB. One can use the subst command from windows or a softlink under Mac OS To ensure this.
IF noone else comes up with a good and working solution, stay tuned; I'm pretty sure I can solve that before the end of the year.

  • Transferring photoshop from laptop to computer.

I have purchased adobe photoshop and it is licensed for two computers, as long as it is used at seperate times. I originally installed it on one pc and one laptop. I no longer used the laptop so wish to take it off that and put it on to a pc. Is this possible and how do I do it?

You do not need to remove it from the laptop but you can.  What you do need to do is deactivate it.  TO deactivate, open Photoshop on the laptop, select the Help option, and choose Deactivate.  That should free up one of your activations for your other machine to make use of.
If you have any issues beyond that or the deactivation does not appear to work, you need to contact Adobe Support either by chat or via phone when you have serial number and activation issues.

  • Transferring mail from laptop to desktop

I don't have a .mac account and want to transfer mail received on my laptop to my desktop G5. I don't want to simply "forward" the new emails and open them on the desktop (they will all list me as the sender). Apple support suggested making a folder on my laptop desktop and simply copying and pasting the messages (from the user/library/mail folder) into the new folder, then dragging it into the desktop ~/library/mail folder. "Mail" sees the folder, but sees no emails inside. Is there a simple way to move new messages from one Mac to another without using iSync or a .Mac account?

Mail stores most preferences and all account settings in ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist. Everything else, including all your messages and mailboxes, is stored in ~/Library/Mail. Copying these (the preferences file and the entire Mail folder itself, not just its contents) from one computer to the other is all you need to do in order to have an exact copy of all your messages, mailboxes and Mail settings on both computers.
In order to avoid potential permission issues, copy the files operating on the destination computer and while logged in as the user that's going to use those files. Also, be sure Mail isn't running on either computer while copying those files.
Alternatively, if what you really want to do is merge the mail stored on one computer with whatever mail is already stored on the other, then File > Import Mailboxes should be used instead.
DON'T try to synchronize mail between computers with a file synchronization utility. Mail keeps a reference to every message within the ~/Library/Mail/ folder in a global Envelope Index file. If this file is modified in more than one computer between synchronizations, there is no way a file synchronization utility can handle the situation properly.
Another, more subtle, and potentially more dangerous issue, is that Mail may use different *.emlx sequence numbers to name the same message in different computers or, worse yet, the same sequence number to name different messages in different computers. Again, the only thing a file synchronization utility can do about it is either overwrite files with the same name (thus potentially losing data) or not synchronize them at all.
Mail data "synchronization" at the filesystem level can only be done reliably if it's a one-way operation, i.e. if the entire contents of the Mail folder in one of the computers are overwritten by the entire contents of the other.
This is not a Mail thing. You would encounter similar issues with any other mail client because there is no way you can avoid the same files being modified on both computers if you use both between synchronizations. The only reliable way to achieve mail synchronization between computers is using an IMAP account and storing mail on the server -- that's precisely what IMAP is for.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user's home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user's home folder.

Hi! I am a masive music junkie and have over 2k songs on my laptop that I want to transfer to my desktop since the laptop is close to dying and I don't want to lose all that music never mind all the money I spent on that music. I don't have an external hardrive nor do I have an ipod (it died) I remember a few years ago when I transferred my music for another laptop all I had to do was go to some drop bar list to export the song it was time consuming since I had to do every song but I can't seem to find that opinion now. Any ideas would be great and no I don't have the money to buy an external hard drive since I just got the desk top, please I want to save my music before my laptop mother board dies taking everything with it - Thanks It isn't an apple computer it is Dell sorry.

  • Transfering Photoshop from Laptop to Desktop

When I bought my laptop it came with photoshop pre-installed. I have now upgraded to a desktop computer and I want to get my photoshop from my laptop onto my desktop but I don't know how. Can someone let me know if I can do this and how please?

Whether or not it is legit to do that depends on the arrangement you have with whoever installed the software on your laptop.  It is possible that the software is intended only for the machine it was installed on.  You should check with whoever sold you the software to determine what the terms of its use is relative to your laptop versus other machines.  If they did not provide you with installation media then it will likely be the case that you need to contact them to acquire the same software for a reinstall.
