TRANSFERRING SKYPE PHONE NUMBERS TO NEW ACCOUNT?

I have 2 subscriptions/phone numbers on my current skype account - one for Australia and one for New Zealand. Since I can't change my skype name, can I transfer the subscriptions/phone numbers to a new account? I have recently been married, so my name has changed and I use the phone numbers for business so it's important I'm using my correct name... Grateful for some advice

Skype does not permit the transfer of anything from one account to another, regardless of what it is (credit, subscriptions, Skype Numbers, etc.). If you wish to start over again, as if you had moved to a different location, you would cancel the subscriptions and Skype Numbers on your first account, and add the same new subsriptions to a new account. Likewise with credit, you can request a refund of the credit on the first account and then purchase new credit for the new second account.
Anticipating your next question, it would be an interesting and convenient feature if Skype had a facility to forward one account to another, but alas they do not.

We have 2 Skype number, one for Bus, the other for home.
They are on the same account; therefore they share the same mail box and therefore the same Voice Mail message.
I understand they need to be separate accounts.
How do I transfer the phone number to a new account and apply the recent payment to the account?

Unfortunately, transferring subscriptions, features, or credit from one account to another is not possible. The only thing you could do is to cancel one of the Skype Numbers, which will stop its renewal, and start a new account and a new Skype Number subscription.

Skype phone numbers and how they work?

ok so here is what I know. With skype you can choose the country of the phone number you want your phone number to originate from. So if I choose my number to be an Australian number any person calling me from Australia will be charged at a local rate if from the same state.
This is my question.
If I set up my phone number to be an Australian number, then I travel overseas to Canada and someone calls my number, what will the rate of charge be for the caller? will it still be a local call since the number is an Australian number or will it not work at all????
And will I in return be able to call back to Australia at a local rate since my number is australian??
Also, Im assuming I need to be connected through wi-fi for someone to call my skype account from a land line phone?

You can't currently transfer purchases/downloads from one account to another account.
When you download past purchases from an account then you will potentially tie the device (or computer if you do it on that) to that account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627
Have you got the ibooks already on your computer and/or on a backup so that you can sync them to your new iPhone ? If not then have you bought anything on your new account yet - could you go back to just using the old account ?

Skype phone numbers; what do I get for what I pay?

Hey all, first time user here so please bear with me.
I'm ditching my home phone and getting a Skype phone instead.
My plan is to get a 12-month unlimited plan for Canada and the US, and a Skype Phone Number.
Problem is, I'm not sure if I can get a Canadian number.
If I *CAN* get a Canadian number, I need to know if I automatically get one when I sign up for a 12-month unlimited plan.
Finally, I need to know if I can log in to any Skype-supported device and use this unlimited plan, be it on a computer, mobile phone, iPad or game console.

1. Unfortunately there are no Canadian Online #s.
2. You can make calls from a computer or Skype compliant phone using either a Skype Call Plan or Skype Credit.

Transfering app purchases to a new account

I have a MobileMe account and have done for a while, but the iOS appstore, my iPhone, my iPad and any purchased music are still using an iTunes account setup with my old Googlemail account (which, after sitting collecting dust for nearly two years, I want to finally close down). I know that if I transfer all my devices over to the MobileMe account that I'll be able to retain my purchased music (sans purchase history), but I have nearly 15GB worth of iOS applications that I have downloaded with the old iTunes account.
Can I transfer iOS applications to a new account without having to buy them again? I can prove that both accounts belong to me, could I request to re-download the applications again free of charge, or would that be out of the question?

You can change your apple ID (itunes > itunes store > account > edit account info) but this will change it for your parents also.
So, you can take all your purchases with you, but if your folks have also purchased things, and if they want to purchase stuff in the future, this won't work.
There is one option: iTunes supports multiple libraries. You could use one library for the content that you've bought with your parents account, and another profile for your own account. You WON'T be able to have the content from both accounts on the same ipod / touch / iphone, etc

So, in answer to your question, you won't lose your content, you just won't be able to use it at the same time with any new content on a new user account.

Transferring contacts/phone numbers from iPhone to new iPad

How do I do that? I've synced my iPhone and iPad to iCloud via my Mac, but when I try to send a message and pick the person/phone # from the list on my iPad, it has a red exclamation point behind it and won't send message. Help, please!

For expediency, configure iTunes to sync EVERYTHING (books, movies, songs, apps) and store stuff locally. Enable encryption (just don't forget the password you set) and even your passwords, cookies get saved in the backup file. When the new device is plugged in and iTunes recognizes as such, the restored result will be identical even in the screen icon placement. Storing locally on the computer's drive results in a faster restore since all the stuff is already there and not subject to network vagaries.

How do you exchange phone (s) within a family account? Example - I take my daughters 5c phone and switch my number to it, she takes my old 4s phone and switches here number to it?

You need to get new SIM cards from your carrier. You can't just swap them because the 4s and 5c use different size cards.

Panasonic gt30 Skype problem create a new account

hi I've panasonic vierra p42gt30. I bought a new camera then login skype without any problem. Then I login my skype account with my computer and syncronise my contacts with my facebook account. Then I tried to login my skype account with my tv but I was not working and says " you have too many contacts , please select ; return home screen , create new skype account" . I deleted lots of imported contacts from facebook and I have just 30 friends in my skype account but it is not working also right now . What can I do

i have same problem. i just bought brand new panasonic viera pc-p65vt50 , connected to internet, and verified connection working. but when i went to activate my skype account , it gave me the TOO MANY CONTACTS error message. i deleted half of my old / obsolete contacts and tried again, and again same error message. i called panosonic, after being on hold forever, i was told it must be a problem with skype directly. i told the rep, that all my other devices are working correctly with skype, and only this plasma is having issues , after again being on hold a long time, i got the same answer.today i got some generic email from panasonic, stating that there is some skype contact limit , for these panasonic tv's , but they didn't say what limit is. i requested more detailed information. will see what they say. i will also call skype tomorrow. if anyone has any solutions or ideas, please let me know

Transferring already purchased apps to new account

I'm selling my ipad, can I transfer my apps to my husbands ipad? We are on a different account. Is there a way I can transfer my iwork products to his ipad?

You can copy them over to the computer that he syncs his iPad to (File > Transfer Purchases), but they will remain tied to your account - content can't currently be transferred to a different account

Skype Phone Numbers

Hi,
I have been receiving calls from numbers in the range of 661380XXXX and 559515XXXX. I am trying to determine where these calls are coming from. Everywhere I have looked makes me believe these are skype numbers, but I can not find a definitive answer. Are there any listings out there that would tell me what skype numbers normally look like and if these numbers are really skype driven?

How can i add Skype without registering a new account.

I want to add skype to my IMAC but it asks me to register in order to download. I already have a skype account so i do not need another user id. How can i download with out registering all over again and just use my current skype ID? My Ipad and Itouch had Skype all ready downloaded but the IMAC doesn't. What do i need to do?

When you click the download you are prompted to create an account. But if you already have an account you click Sign in;
and then fill in your account information.

Transferring Gift credit to a new account

I've been using iTunes with my AOL account for a long time and I have money on the account from various gift cards. However, I would prefer to use my Apple ID for iTunes because I definitely do not use AOL in any shape or form anymore except for iTunes and I wouldn't mind getting rid of it. Is there any way I can transfer he money from the AOL account into my Apple account?

Merging Phone numbers and email addresses in a new user account

OK... here goes....
For the last 10 years my wife and I have shared one user account on our desktop computer, a G5 tower.
We have been able to successfully keep our 'digital lives' separate because I used Apple Mail and Address Book with my iPhone, syncing with mobile me. She used Microsoft Entourage and a flip phone.
She has just gotten an iPhone 4S and I want her to be able to sync contacts with Address Book. So... I am FINALLY setting her up with her own user account and getting her to use Apple Mail and Address Book. We do NOT want my Address Book to sync with her new iPhone.
I think I can import her messages and mailboxes into Mail in the new user account easy enough. And I am pretty sure I can get her Entourage email addresses into Address Book also. I have seen some articles online and I think I got it straight.
Here is the part I am not sure about. When she got her iPhone last week the Verizon store transfered her PHONE NUMBERS into the iPhone form her old flip phone. How do we merge the email addresses (from Entourage) and phone numbers (currently on the new iPhone) into Address Book?
I am asuming there are gong to be many double entries and such as the names will not match.... but i do not want to overwrite anything and lose data. Will we just have to suck it up and manually merge the data?
We can not use iCloud yet, as the machine is not Intel and is only running Leopard. There is a new Mac Mini in our near future and I will get the iCloud running for her soon enough. And I anticipate no issues moving over her new user account, from the G5 over to the new Mini.
I ONLY use my white Intel MacBook running Lion and the iCloud to keep MY life in sync these days and doubt I will put my MacBook user account on the new desktop... but I might at some point.

Providing your Apple ID is not a .me or a .Mac address, you can change it with Apple and continue to use your account.
Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
Once who have done this you can then correct it on your mobile device.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
When you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
If however, your Apple ID was a .me or a .Mac address, then you will need to create a new account, follow the instructions above for deleting your account on your mobile device and then tap the "create Apple ID" button to create a new account.
