Transferring to iPad 2

how do I transfer files and photos from a windows based computer to my ipad2? I have download the pages app to my ipad 2 as the app docs..
help me please.

For photos/videos, you can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import.

  • Erasing calendar and contact info on transferred original iPad

    I've transferred my original iPad to my wife's computer. But she's now stuck with my calender and contacts info.
    As I read the iPad manual, the reset option labeled "Erase all contents and settings" would do the trick. She could then sync with her own calendar and computer. But does it erase other things, well besides the email account information which is not a problem? For instance, does it erase apps?
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    Is there any way to simply erase the calendar and contact info without erasing the apps?

  • News stand transfers from iPad Air to to new iPad Air 2

    I'm having issues with transferring my News stand subscriptions from my old iPad Air to my new iPad Air 2.
    It won't recognize my user name or password ... says they're wrong even though I know they're right..
    This is not the first time this has happened.  It happened when I went from my iPad 2 to my iPad Air also.
    Can anyone suggest a foolproof way to do this?  Thanks in advance.

    First you'll want to backup your old iPad. To do this connect the iPad to your computer (I recommend backing up to the computer instead of to iCloud. You only have 5GB of space available in iCloud which is not enough for the average user) and follow the article Back up using iTunes:
    iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    Next you need to restore this backup onto the new iPad. Plug the new iPad into the computer and using the same link above, follow the directions to Restore using iTunes. Please note that apps will not be re-installed during this process. To reinstall apps follow the steps below:
    1. Launch the App Store. Choose "Purchased" from the bottom menu of icons. This will lead to a screen showing all of your purchased apps (this includes free and paid apps). This screen is divided into iPad apps and iPhone apps, which can be toggled by the buttons at the top right corner of the screen.
    2. At the very top, touch "Not on This iPad" to narrow the apps down to those you no longer have on the iPad.
    3. Tap the cloud button next to any app to restore it to the iPad.
    To delete all personal info off of your iPad follow the directions in the article below:
    Erase all personal data from iPad
    Do NOT erase your old iPad until you are 100% sure you have all the data on your new iPad!!!

  • Transferring Certain iPad/iPhone Data from MBP to a new MBA

    Hello:
    Long story short is I have a new iPad and an iPhone 4s currently synced to my late 2009 MBP. I will be selling this machine here this week after doing a clean install of Lion and am trying to find a working solution to transfer just my iTunes data (device backups, device data, all apps and their data) to my newer MBA in as painless a manner as possible.
    I know migration assistant will tranfer all applications and settings over from a time machine backup by my current MBP is extremely overcrowded with applications and software that I'm looking to "start fresh" on the air and would just like the iTunes data (not to mention the available internal space on my Air's SSD won't accomodate all the applications currently on my Pro. I have had my MBA for several months so it is essentially already set up I'm just trying to get the iTunes library data (primarily the iPhone and iPad specific things) over to the MBA somehow.
    I'm trying to avoid the "this device is currently synced to an old machine and all current data will be deleted if you sync to this machine, do you want to proceed?" messages. I have no problem temporarily wiping the devices out so long as I can do a restore on them (IE somehow get the phone and iPad backup files from my old computer transfered and have them work on my new MBA)
    I haven't been using the cloud for backups prior. I can turn this feature on to get a cloud backup but will the cloud backup then transfer my apps and data from the cloud into my MBA or will they just stay in the cloud?
    Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

  • Transferring an iPad II to a new Account,

    How do i get rid of the old Account , with Apps,, Music, and all relevant stuff and tyransfer the iPad II to a new Account?

    It is illegal to do that. Your relative needs to purchase his/her own apps under his/her Apple ID. There is a way to sort of circumnavigate this requirement. Substitute yourself and the relative for the husband and wife:
    Sharing Stuff From Different iTunes Accounts (or Computers)
    Here's how to do so using different computers:
    Transfer what content you want to the separate iTunes library on each computer. To transfer content from your library to another library do the following. We'll assume this is between husband and wife separate accounts and different Apple IDs.
    Launch iTunes under your wife's login;
    Sign her out of iTunes, then you sign in;
    Select iTunes -> Preferences -> Devices -> Disable auto-sync when an iPod/iPhone is connected;
    Connect your device, DO NOT SYNC;
    Select Store -> Authorize this Computer (only have to do this once);
    Select File -> Transfer Purchases (all of the purchased content on your phone will be transferred to your wife's library);
    When complete eject your device, sign out of iTunes, sign your wife back in.
    You can now sync whatever content you want to your wife's phone. Just remember all updates to apps obtained using your account must be done while signed in using your account: sign wife out, you sign in, update apps, you sign out, sign wife in, sync her phone.
    This way you can share content (permitted under the EUSLA) and still maintain your separate logins. Do the same on your computer if you want to share content from your wife's library.
    Just load whatever content you want to share on each others phones, transfer the content, then delete it from the respective phone if you don't want to keep it there.

  • Deleting some photos transferred to ipad from computer

    I transferred all my photos from my computer to my ipad and now find that I want to delete some.  In simple English, can someone please tell me how to get them off my ipad.  Step by step please.  Thankyou

    If photos were synced from your computer then they can't be deleted directly on the iPad, you will need remove/de-select them from where you synced it from on your computer and re-sync.

  • My photos are not transferring to iPad

    I am having a problem transferring phots from my Canon Rebel xti to my ipad 2.  I am using the USB connection kit but not photos are transferring.  Am I forgetting to do something?
    Thanks,
    Denise

    If your camera supports both PTP and Mass Storage Device modes, it may be necessary to use both modes to import all media content.
    If some files do not import as expected using one mode, try switching to the other mode and importing again.

  • Why aren't notes transfering between iPad and iphone

    Using I cloud and have notes checked off to sync but they are not moving from iPad to iPhone 5.  Everything else is transfering - contacts, pictures, etc.

    Notes located in the "On my mac" or "on my device" (but not in the "icloud") sections will not sync to icloud.  Could that be the problem?

  • Why can't I open Pages documents transferred from iPad?

    I am unable to open Pages 09 documents transferred via iTunes and USB cable to my iMac (OS 10.6.8), error indicates  "index.xml" missing. Where does that come from?

    Pages 2 on the iPad uses Pages 5 file format, but even that can vary as Pages 5 and Pages 5.01 on the Mac can't open Pages 5.1 files.
    Yes you are right, the whole thing is one ginormous mess, thanks be to Apple.
    Far from getting painless round transfer between iOS, OSX and PCs we are getting in practice very limited compatibility even between Macs and iOS devices and reports of files that abruptly refuse to open anywhere and can not be rescued because they are in an overly complicated file format.
    Go to the iTunes Store and the App Store and rate/review the latest Pages.

  • HT4009 In-app purchases (non-consumable) cannot be transferred from Ipad 2 to Ipad Air. I tried this for an app called Calculator for iPad Free.

    On my iPad2 I made an in-app purchase to get rid of ads in an app called Calculator for iPad Free.
    The ads free version works great on my iPad2. When I bought an iPad Air I restored all aps and music from my iCloud.
    The app Calculator for iPad Free has reverted back to the version with ads. Attempts to restore from iCloud, iTunes and backups have all resulted in the version with ads.
    It appears that non-consumable in-app purchases cannot be transferred. To make matters worse, the in-app purchase price has doubled since I bought it in 2011.
    Good for Apple, not so good for the consumer.

    Problem solved. Just made the in-app purchase a second time and received a note indicating that I had already purchased this app and could download again for free.
    Unfortunately, no one at Apple Support knew that. Frustrating, but all is well now.

  • Transferring an iPad app to a new user

    I gave a relative my original iPad. I erased it and blanked it all out.
    What I'd like to do now is give the new owner one or more of my apps that I no longer use on my new iPad. The problem is compounded because the old app is no longer in the iTunes store, so I can't just give them a gift certificate to purchase it on their account.
    Can I just copy the app file over? As I said, it's completely deprecated app. I don't use it, and it isn't even available in the store.
    The problem arises because the original iPad won't run iOS 6. I have a password manager that works on 5, but it isn't in the store. So the new owner can't run it all all, even though he has the desktop version (properly licensed).
    I NEVER pirate software, but I have to say that preventing me from transferring things I own, even if only a license, is rather lame. I realize that's in the EULA, but it makes deprecated iPads increasingly useless unless (1) you know to prevent iTunes' updates from overwriting your older apps and (2) you never sell or give it away, since that makes (1) irrelevant since the new owner can't get the old apps. Does the license apply to an app that is no longer in the Store?
    Work arounds?

    It is illegal to do that. Your relative needs to purchase his/her own apps under his/her Apple ID. There is a way to sort of circumnavigate this requirement. Substitute yourself and the relative for the husband and wife:

  • Are the videos transferred to iPad unreal?

    Following the advise of some mate of this forum, I could transferred videos from MacbookPro to iPad opening iTunes>add to library. But then I discovered when my Macbook is off the videos in the iPad are not displayed!!!...So it means the iPad is simply a screen of the videos that are saved in my Macbook and these ones are unreal in the iPad? Is there a way to make them land into the iPad really?
    Thanks to all.

    You are currently using Home Sharing to view the videos on the iPad. They are not on your device when you home share. You need to sync them to your Mac.
    Connect the iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes.
    Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
    Click on the Movies Tab on the right.
    Click on the movies that you want to sync in order to select them
    Click on the Sync Movies Heading.
    Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
    If you are using iTunes 11 - go to View>Show Sidebar at the top of the screen so that your iPad is visible under the devices heading in the sidebar on the left.

  • HT1848 Is there anyway to get my purchased items onto my computer without transferring from ipad?

    I sold my Ipad without connecting and transferring my purchased music tvshows etc. is there any other way to get these items through my itunes account, seeing as I have paid for them?

    You can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:
    Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • I pad syncs and lists all apps being transfered from Ipad, but...

    Hi,
    After syncing, or transfering apps from my ipad, I can see only the apps I have bought from itunes on my computer, not the apps on my ipad. Also, when I delete from my ipad, after syncing they all come back and my screens are completely full - I can't access any of the newer purchases.
    Thanks

    What exactly did you try? You have to restore the iPad from the phone backup and download the apps again if you are using iCloud. If you are using iTunes, the process is basically the same but you have to sync the apps back to the iPad.

  • Purchased Music Artwork transferred onto iPad was there, not it's all gone.

    So I transferred all of my purchased music onto my iPad. The artwork transferred over and was all fine and dandy. Then later on I transferred all my not purchases. And now all the artwork on the music I purchased is gone and the artwork on the not purchased music is there...
    Waht Do?

    You may be able to redownload your iTunes purchases by:
    Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    BTW, did you sync to the laptop before? Yu can only sync to one iTunes library. If you sync to to another library the iPod will be eerased and it contents replace with what is in the iTunes library on the computer.
