Transferring TV to ipod

I just got the new video 30G ipod and downloaded a few tv shows and podcasts. The podcasts transferred to my ipod, but the tv shows did not. Is there anything I have to change in my ipod settings to get this to happen?

See this article.

Ipod touch 4 i can no longer watch movies, transferred to the ipod, on videos app it simply says loading and then stops. On my ipad mini with older ios it still works. So how can I fix this I have tried converting videos into different formats but it will not work.
Is IOS 8 really appropriate with Ipod Touch 4, if the older Ipods do not have the capability then why are we prompted to install new operating systems.
    Thanks.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all videos and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

  • PC crashes when transferring songs to ipod or using itunes..

    1) Issue: When transferring songs to IPOD through the use of a PC(itunes or real player), a blue faulty screen will eventually show with some error and then my computer restarts. I have a bout 3800 songs for a 20GB IPOD and it seems to always stop around 4G when transferring. I tried using the IPOD on another computer and it seems to be fine.
    2) Also, when I play music using iTunes, it causes the PC to crash as well, without the IPOD connected.
During the error report, it usually says there is an error with the Hard Drive(Western Digital 250 SATA 2 hard drive; hard to use a jumper to adjust to the SATA 1 settings of this motherboards) and it couldn’t’ read it for a second. It advises to to a ScanDisk?CHKDSK run, but when I do this(during reboot), it stops in STEP 4 out of 5 at 20-30% and does nothing. Did this for 1 day! Other error reports supposedly report a faulty device driver error and advise to update drivers, but I’ve updates Apple iTunes.
Contacted Hard Drive manufacturer, Western Digital, and they believe it is a controller device driver issue or something related. Tried updating the bios. Tried installing the VIA 4 for 1 drivers and other drivers in the Motherboards Installation CD. Running a Disk Tools before Microsoft even shows itself, reports no errors. However, when you are partially booted and the computer is scheduled to check the disk, there are errors(won’t move.) I see no update for controller device drivers
A3) lso, if I have a USB hard drive connected to the PC(such as an IPOD or external usb hard drive), sometimes the computer switches boot devices(hard drives) and thinks that the IPOD/External Hard drive is the boot device. This is also reflected in the BIOS and the USB connected hard drive replaces my main SATA hard drive(western digital) and my computer doesn’t completely reboot unless I go under the BIOS and change it. It’s weird because I DO NOT CHANGE THE BIOS. For some reason, it changes on its own.
I have no idea what’s going on. Please Help Me.

  • Transferring music from IPOD to Laptop

I no longer have access to the computer I originally set up my IPOD with. How do I get files to transfer from my IPOD classic (30GB)to my new computer? When I open the IPOD in My computer, I can find no music folder.

For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
Find out how to do that here.
How to copy iTunes purchases from an iPod or iPhone to a computer.
For all other non purchased content (your own CDs etc), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it is a little more involved than other methods.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Other free programs are Pod Player, SharePod and Floola.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists.
There is also CopyTrans. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.

  • Transfering music from ipod to the computer

i just got a new computer, and before i got my new computer my old one got messed up and i lost all my files. So is there a way that i can take the contents of my ipod and just transfer them to my new computer so that i may continue to add new stuff to it?

Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.

  • Problem transfering music/updating ipod

I recently moved and changed computers. My ipod had my library from home on it but i had a new library at my apt. i plugged my ipod in to see what kind of transfer there would be and it erased my ipod and filled it with the new library. then i went back home, and reversed it with my old library. finally, i had enough at my apt so once more i erased my ipod and built it with the library from my computer. today i tried to traditionally transfer music, adding music into my ipod. it would not update, it said it was finished updating but when i looked, none of the new songs were transfered into my ipod.... please help im so frustrated. ive tried reinstalling but that doesn't solve the problem.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
What you are trying to do is illegal. You cannot take your friend's music. That is one of the reasons for the message.
Also, even if legal, you cannot use iTunes to move music from iPod to computer.

  • Urgent advice please on transferring pictures to Ipod

I would like to download my pictures from my pc hard disc to Ipod, in order to delete them afterwards & create more space on my pc.
2 problems in doing this: 1) when I synchronize the picture folders to copy them onto Ipod, I suspect Itunes copies them somewhere again on my C-drive, since my C-drive runs out of storage space. So: where are these files stored so I can delete my previous attempts?
    2) In order to solve the above mentioned problem, I tried transferring files one by one, but the 2nd time I transfer pictures to Ipod, it will delete the pictures downloaded the first time.
Please help me, since my pc is running out of space and Ipod is not helping me to resolve the problem where I bought it for, in fact, it makes my problems worse!
    Thanks very much in advance!

Seems like your hard disk is close to completely full!
    1) To synchronise, iTunes has to optimise and prepare the files it transfers to your iPod and needs some space in your Temp directory while it prepares them, before it transfers them over. You can safely delete your Temp files as long as you have no installs in progress.
    2) What you say makes sense since you cannot manually add a file at a time to your photo library without deleting the old ones.
What I would do is to go to iTunes>Edit>Preferences>Music Tab and enable "Manually manage songs and playlists". Also enable Disk Use by ticking the box next to it.
    Click OK
Then open Windows Explorer through My Computer and you can copy the photos and any files you want to back up to a folder on your iPod disk drive. Check the folder and make sure everything you want is there. Then you can delete the files you do not want stored on your hard drive and create space.
IMPORTANT:: You have thus backed-up the data on your iPod - but if you lose it or it breaks down, you will lose all your precious irrecoverable data, so a good bet is to buy another hard drive, internal or external and ASAP copy the data to that hard drive or onto CDs so that you have a back-up. Also, Pictures or music thus stored as a back up is not seen via the iPod interface - you can only access the data through Windows Explorer (or Mac Finder).
    Good luck!!!

  • Help!  Trouble transferring videos to iPod

Hi! I really need some help here, I e-mailed the iTunes store and called tech support and neither one helped.
I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 laptop computer with Windows XP and a Fifth Generation 30 GB video iPod. I purchased a season of television shows from the iTunes music store and I can't transfer them on top my iPod. They play on my computer just fine. I also downloaded a podcast with some video episodes which transferred to my iPod just fine. Some of the earlier episodes had to be converted for the iPod but then worked afterwards.
Also, whenever I click into the Video tab of the ipod settings, the button is clicked that says do not transfer video and it does not let me click anywhere else.
    Any suggestions?!?!

    Hey there!
Go back to File > Preferenes > iPod > Video
If the "Do Not Transfer Video" option has a checkmark next to it, you should be able to click on the checkmark to remove it.
    Let me know what happens...

I want my songs to be in a specific order but they transfered to the ipod in alphabetical order by artist. how can  I get them in the order I want?

    Hey ellenkk
The best way to get the songs in the order that you want is to make a playlist and then sync it over. Once the playlist is set, all you have to do is set to sync playlist in the music tab.

  • Music is not transferring to old iPod Touch from iTunes.

Music is not transferring to old iPod Touch from iTunes.  iTunes recognizes the iPod.  I've gone to File>Devices>Sync and File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.  It shows that it is downloading, but once complete and I go back to check, still not there in either case.
Also, I updated my Windows XP laptop with the new iTunes 11, all the music is there from before and even added a couple more CDs (thought it was all on the laptop).  I turn the laptop off, come back next day, music is all gone and is now found in iCloud.  I didn't want it to be transferred to iCloud, but I must have missed a checked box or something.  Any idea on how to un-iCloud all of that music that should still be on my laptop?  Otherwise, how do I Home Share from iCloud (Windows XP) to iTunes on Windows 7?
As for Home Sharing, it's hit or miss.  I found where you are to hit the Alt button to access Home Sharing on my Windows 7 laptop, it worked 1 time and now I can't find the Home Sharing in the Playlist Section or Music, nothing.  Really?!?!  Come on Apple, can't you do better than that!  I'm getting really frustrated here!  It seems I can only Home Share to my Windows XP laptop, but not vice versa - XP to Windows 7.  Really?!?!
Anyone have any ideas on how I could possibly get this all to work?  Btw, isn't iCloud suppose to automatically download to your iPod anyway?  Well, it doesn't.
    Frustrated!

    Do they play in iTunes?
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    - Try unsyncing and resyning

  • Having trouble transferring songs in iPod

I just got a new laptop and I also just downloaded iTunes... i have an iPod already with alot of songs on it
Im wondering if its possible for me to transfer the songs I already have to my new library... while keeping the songs on my iPod too.
    Thank you!

iPodRip has always been buggy for me - if you have songs with the same title but by different artists (e.g. "Angel" is a song title by both Aerosmith and Sarah McLachlan), and one is currently resident in iTunes, it will not import the other as it is falsely marked as already being in iTunes.
I'd go with Senuti or MusicRescue. Never tried Yamipod.
To the original poster: A program like Yamipod will only get your songs back into iTunes, since you've lost your original files. You still need iTunes itself to play the songs and for future transfers into your iPod.

  • I have just got an iPad and I want the music to be transferred through my iPod touch using iCloud but I didn't get the music from iTunes so I don't think it will let me do it. Do you have any tips that could help me?

I have just got an iPad and I want the music to be transferred through my iPod touch using iCloud but I didn't get the music from iTunes so I don't think it will let me do it. Do you have any tips that could help me?

Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view.
Photos that were synced from a computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from and then re-syncing. If you want to remove them all then normally you could just sync an empty folder (in terms of photos) to the iPad, but as you don't want to sync at the moment you can't do that.
You can reset the iPad back to factory settings and start from scratch with it : Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings
