Transferring / Upgrading license - Acrobat Std.

I purchased and registered Acrobat Standard X in July 2012. In August last year I upgraded to version XI. My Adobe page only lists the serial number for Version X.
I now have a new laptop and want to install Acrobat Std.. I can now only download version XI but the installer won't recognize the Version X serial number.
What can I do?

Limey_in_408 I reviewed your case and you are correct you do not currently have a login for https://licensing.adobe.com/ which contains not only the serial number but the download to the volume license installer for Acrobat X Standard.  You will want to work with your I.T. or purchasing department as either one should have logins to the site.  They can also request to have you added as a deploy-to contact which will allow you to access the serial numbers and the installation files.

  • Upgrade from Acrobat Std 9 on old XP Puter to Acrobat XI on new Windws 8 Puter. Process?

Just purchased a new Windows 8 PC.  Acrobat 9 Standard is installed on my old PC.
Since Acrobat 9 is not fully compatible with Windows 8, what would be the best process to upgrade to Acrobat XI and install on my new Windows 8 computer?

    1. Make sure you have the serial number for Acrobat 9. Check whether it was an OEM version (bundled with the computer), and if so, check whether it is allowed to move it to another computer. If all ok...
    2. Buy an upgrade, taking great care to choose the product you have (Acrobat 9 Standard) as the qualifying product.
    3. Install the upgrade on the new computer. Enter the old serial number when requested.
    4. Uninstall Acrobat 9 from the old computer.

  • Path(s) for upgrading a Acrobat 9 Pro to Acrobat XI Pro in terms of licensing?

    Hi all,
I have been asked to get details of upgrading our Acrobat 9 Pro to Acrobat XI Pro, but I am not sure about the licensing.
Can a license from Acrobat 9 Pro be upgraded to XI or it have to be a new purchase?
    Thanks in advance.
    Patrick.

Yes, an upgrade path is available from Acrobat 9 Pro or Acrobat X Pro to Acrobat XI Pro (but not any older version). You can purchase this in the online store.
You must make sure you have the serial number of Acrobat 9 Pro for insalling AND YOU NEED TO KEEP IT as it will be needed forever for reinstalling.

  • Will an Adobe Acrobat XI Pro Upgrade license work to upgrade an Adobe Acrobat XI Standard installation?

The buying guide for the XI Pro Upgrade (here - Buying guide | Adobe Acrobat XI Pro) does not list Adobe XI Standard in the left hand column... but I currently have XI Standard and want to to go XI Pro, will this work?

    Hi Mike ,
There is no such policy to upgrade license from Acrobat XI Standard to Acrobat XI Pro.
If you have the subscription for the Standard version ,you need to get that cancelled and get a new subscription for Acrobat Pro.
If you have the retail version or if you have purchased the software ,you can return that and get a new retail version for Acrobat XI Pro.

  • Can't upgrade from Acrobat X Std to Acrobat X pro

    Hello,
I have Acrobat X std I purchased and d/l without problem months ago.  Today tried to upgrade from Acrobat X standard to Acrobat X Pro.  All seemed well until I ran the installation after downloading the files using the download assistant.  The installer window shows Acrobat X Standard in the top bar.  It will only accept my old Acrobat X Standard serial number.  It will not accept the new activation key or serial number.  I have completely uninstalled Acrobat X, gone back to the download area under my orders, and re-downloaded the file.  Same thing happens all over again.  Of course no support or help on weekend and I leave on a trip tomorrow.  Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

OK, I got it loaded.  Not sure exactly, but I believe the tricks were to not use their automatic downloarder, delete it from my computer, to select the "overwrite" option when the manually downloaded installer found the previous files (which I had uninstalled, so not sure what the uninstaller left behind....) then of course once it ran, it prompted me for the Standard serial number, since that had been uninstalled.  Once I put that in, it all seems to work.  Sheesh.

  • Transferring Coldfusion to a new server - Upgrade license; Can't find old license key HELP!!

I am currently in the process of porting over my data from another server to a new server.
On that server I am running ColdFusionMX7 Standard and want to continue running it on the new one.
Coldfusion is currently loaded on the new server through a trial edition but when I try and enter the Serial Number I see on the Coldfusion on the server I am currently operating, it prompts me that "You have entered an upgrade license key (XXXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX), which requires you to enter the license key of your previous version of ColdFusion."
Do you have any advice on this?  Is there any way to find that old license on the old server?
    Thanks!

  • Installing upgrade from Acrobat XI Standard to Acrobat Xi Pro

I am trying to install an upgrade from Acrobat 11 Standard to Acrobat 11 Pro.  I have purchased and upgrade license.  When I try to install the Pro upgrade, I get a message that a product with higher functions is already installed and it terminates the install.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

I would recommend you uninstall Std, run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, remove any left over Acrobat folder parts (in Program Files>Adobe), reboot, and install. You will likely have to give the S/N for Std as the qualifying product for XI Pro.

  • Can I update my licensed Acrobat 8.0 Standard somehow?  If so, please tell me how to do it.

Can I update my licensed Acrobat 8.0 Standard somehow?
If so, please tell me how to do it.
    Thank you.

You need at least Acrobat 9 to be eligible for upgrades, so it's a moot point. Simply buy a new license of a current version.

  • Acrobat Std v9.5 browser session locks up past 2nd page

    I updated to v9.5 Acrobat Std. yesterday (from v9.45 --> 9.46 -->9.47 to 9.50).
I opened a PDF linked inside a webpage to a new tab (using 32 bit IE9). The webpage PDF opens fine. But when I scroll to the second page (which is black), the browser session locks up (including all open tabs). I have to use Task Manager to kill the particular non-responsive IE9 session (i.e., other, independent IE9 browser sessions do NOT lockup, and do remain running when I kill the errant session ...just guessing, but the non-locked up sessions may be an artifact of independent memory spaces from using W7 64 bit).
I tried this several times, opening a new browser session each time, trying to view the document past the first page (and if I do not scroll to the second page, the session does not lock up), and the lockup happened each time (i.e., the error is duplicable).
Testing, I opened another new session, clicked on the PDF link and chose to Save As, and placed the document on my desktop. It downloaded almost instantly, and opened just fine (and I was able to read the entire 7 pages of mixed texts & charts).
I did not experience this problem with Acrobat v9.45, ever ...and yes, I use that feature often (so I would have known if there had been an issue). I never really tested the issue under Acrobat v.9.46/9.47 (I didn't open those versions at all ...I was doing Adobe updates manually as per my usual routine, and generally follow the sequential order "just in case").
...and if no one can point me to a solution, then I suppose I'll have to try removing the update (if that's possible), or deleting Acrobat 9 (after deactivating the license - I read within this forum that you can do that, if you need to uninstall for some reason) and re-installing Acrobat 9.0 from scratch (I'd really rather not do that, but if that's what it takes).
NOTE: I do not have Adobe Reader installed. My OS is Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) w/8GB of RAM, and Intel Core 2 Quad. My preferred browser is IE9. All software and OS patches are current [to-the-version]. I'm an experienced user (20 years plus as a systems administrator); and non-gamer (i.e., malware free). This is a work box (primarily used for client remote support).
Cross posted from the Adobe Reader discussion forum (as I didn't get any responses there).

In reference to this change in the Custom Reports... Better experience when exporting data - to prevent customer confusion when exporting data from Mac computers, we have removed the export to excel option and exporting in CSV format by default.
What is the customer confusion we are trying to stop here? I've got even more confused customers at the moment because all of a sudden they can't find the export to excel option but know it exists if they log in on a PC?

  • Adobe Acrobat Std XI - Quick Pick Toolbar

Had issues with Acrobat Pro 9.5 so uninstalled and upgraded to XI Std. Customized the quick pick toolbar with all the tools used most often. Opened a pdf and all the customization disappeared. Added the tools back in but they keep disappearing. Am I  missing a setting somewhere?

    Hi BWhiteC,
When I add a tool to the quick pick toolbar, it does stick.
I do this by clicking the Gear icon on the toolbar to open the Edit Tool Set dialog.
I add the tools I want (they are added to the default tool set.
I click Save at the bottom of the dialog.
My toolbar remains as I set it.
Are you adding tools the same way?
If not, can you describe what you do that is not working.

  • Upgrading to Acrobat XI Pro on a new server

My company recently changed servers, and Acrobat 9 PRO was installed on the original virtual server. We couldn't find any install files (or downloads) for 9 PRO anywhere, so we purchased the upgrade to Acrobat XI PRO. We installed XI PRO on the new virtual server, but now we are seeing a popup that states "Serial number you provided is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer." I imagine that is because 9 PRO was never installed on this particular virtual server, and we probably need the full install for XI PRO. Please help.

The serial number that is being requested is that for AA 9, not AA XI. That validates your upgrade.
I assume you have dealt with Adobe for licenses for all the machines that will be using Acrobat on the server. There as special needs that need interaction with Adobe to run Acrobat on an intranet (I think they allow this under special licensing, not sure). If you are just installing the standard stand-alone Acrobat on the server and nothing more, you are violating the license agreement (not a pretty sight if that is the case).

  • How do I upgrade from Acrobat 8 to the latest version of Acrobat

I was looking in the shop and it only gives the option to upgrade from 9 on.  We have 13 Acrobat 8 licenses that we would like to upgrade if possible.  Any suggestions?

    Hi cathyt873
Upgrade to Acrobat XI from Acrobat 8 is not possible. You need to purchase the full version.

  • Upgrading to Acrobat X

I've purchased a new laptop and would like to upgrade to Acrobat X on it.  I have Acrobat 8 Pro on my old system, but I've misplaced the original disk.  I have the serial number for the original program.  What is the best way to upgrade, without purchasing a new full copy of ver X?

It would have also been good if you had registered AA8 -- that was not mentioned. The serial number (I assume this is the key) should be all that you need to validate for upgrade installation. You can purchase the upgrade from the Adobe store or some of the providers (I think). If you get the download, be sure to backup the download so that you have it for the future and also record the serial number with that copy. You should then be able to install the upgrade. Somewhere along the line you should be asked to insert the previous CD or provide the serial number.
You might want to wait a bit for confirmation from some others who have done this process. I am on a corporate license and the process is different.

  • Automating the upgrade of Acrobat

My company owns older versions of both Acrobat Pro and Acrobat Std.
We also run Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager and would like to automate the upgrades to Acrobat XI versions.
In the past, we have had to uninstall the old version before installing the new version.
Do the new installations allow for the removal of older versions as part of the installation?
Are there parameters that can be set on the .msi?

    Hi MTDOCIT,
You can use the Adobe customization wizard to remove the older version.
    You can download i from : ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/11.x/11.0.00/misc/CustWiz11000_en_US.exe
    Please refer : http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Wizard/Customization%20Wizard%2011%20for %20Windows.pdf
For more information please check : http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/#
You can even remove it manually from SCCM.
The new installation would not remove the older version as part of the installation in the environment but it does remove the older version if you install it as a Standalone application.
No, there are no parameters known that can be set on the .msi
