  • Video image from webcam resizes

I am trying to develop a online presentation application which has the webcam feature. I am using JMF for this purpose. I am creating this as an applet. The first time when the page loads and the user clicks the start button to start the video, the webcam starts and the video is displayed in a small area of the applet.
The left side of the applet displays the images. When the user clicks the next button, the next image from the vector is displayed and the image label displays the image number as 2.
The problem is that, if the user clicks next button , the video image from the webcam gets resized. It scales itself in the horizontal direction. I have no clue as to why is this happeneing. Is this something due to the layout problem or JMF ?
Any help in this matter will be highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Sharad

I guess its because you are having a BorderLayout. If with a borderlayout, components added will strech both ways (horizontally and vertically) but you seem to say that the video image strechs only horizontally, maybe components added to NORTH or SOUTH of a borderlayout would do that.
Anyhow, try to set the layout to FlowLayout

  • Transferring video clips from iPad

I transferred MP4 (MPEG-4) video clips from a GoPro camera to my 1st gen. iPad. Now I am trying to figure out how to transfer them to my PC so I can edit them. I can watch them on the iPad, but when I try to view them from my PC they do not show up (the still photos do). Apple has not been any help. Any ideas or recommended software?
The files are too big to email from the iPad.
    Thanks!

You could try whether apps such as Simple Photo & Video Transfer Lite (free app, there is also a paid version called Simple Transfer) work - they transfer via wifi, though I don't know whether they'll work for your clips.

  • Trouble Transferring Videos Files from computer to ipad in ios 8

    Hello -
I'm a bit confused about the "sharing" aspect of what used to be the "home videos" section in itunes for transferring video files to my ipad. It appears I can only access these files when my itunes is open and able to be accessed via wifi. What am I missing? I would like to have the files themselves on the ipad so that I can watch videos when not connected to the internet, and not near my computer.
Apologies, this is probably an easy fix - I haven't been able to find an answer,
    Elizabeth

    Hello there, Elizabeth.
For answers to any of your Apple related questions, you've come to a great place. The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great inforamtion on how to sync content to your iOS device:

  • Transfering video image ???

i bought a panasonic HDD camcorder and i have tried to put some of my recording onto my macbook via USB, it cant read what i have recorded. Camcorder came with software for microsoft XP only, stupid panasonicc, how am i suppose to get those photages on my macbook?
    Any suggestions guys.
    Thank you

OK, actually USB ought to work fine too.
Try this: go into Applications, and launch Image Capture. From the Image Capture menu, go to Preferences, and where it says "When a camera is connected, open..." choose either iPhoto (if you just want to get the movie into your system) or iMovie (if you want to edit the movie).
You can also launch either of the applications yourself, and use their Import tool to import the video from your camera.
That's assuming that you already have iPhoto and/or iMovie installed from the iLife disk which should have come with your Mac. If you didn't yet install them, or if they're not automatically installed, you should do so first.

  • Transfered video's from Casio Exilim appear as black squares in iPhoto 08

Video's appear as black squares within iPhoto instead of first frame. Nevertheless the black squares still have video logo and duration indication and after double click will open and play in Quicktime. However, this is quite inconvenient if you look for specific videos.
    How to fix this?
(I used a Casio Exilim compact camera to shoot these videos)

    Chrisjan:
Are you able to play the videos even though the thumbnail is black? You might try rebuilding the library as follows: launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the first three options.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Ipod video - transfering videos not from itunes

how do i transfer videos onto my ipod that are not from itunes?

I found this guide to be very helpful. It's Mac centered but also covers Windows. It's a great starting point.

  • How do I delete an idvd project from my hard drive?  If I do so, will it delete the raw videos/images from iphoto or imovie?  Thank you

I understand that an imovie or idvd project will take up quite a bit of space on my hard drive, so after I create the movies on either program I want to delete them.  I can't figure out how to delete them on idvd.  Should I go to finder?  I'm so confused!

iDVD only uses pointers to the media, photos and QT files, that it uses in its projects.  So if you delete a movie that you used in it that movie will be lost to iDVD.
However you can use the File ➙ Archive Project... menu option and that will copy the media into the iDVD project package. Then if you delete the movie file the archived project will still have its copy of the movie to use.
You won't be able to go back and make any changes to the movie if you do this.  So wait until the project is complete and burned to disk before archiving and deleting the movie files.
Personally I would get an external HD and save those movies and other files that you might want to delete from your boot drive because you never know when you might want to go back and make changes.  Once they are deleted you can't go back.

  • CS5, transfering an image from 64bit to 32bit

I did a search but failed to find the answer, perhaps I asked it wrong, but in the meantime.
I have a 3rd party plug-in I love (Kodak/ASF Digital GEM Airbrush). It only works in 32bit mode (and that took me awhile to figure out where I had to put it to get it to work). But everything I need to do to the image before I run that plug-in can be done better and faster in 64bit mode.
So is there an easier way then saving the image as a .TIF or PS format, opening up 32bit version of PS CS5, to transfer the image to 32bit so I can run the 32bit plug-in?
I had thought I read there was a way to just transfer the image over into 32bit PS mode, but I have not been able to figure out how to do that yet.
I am running Win 7 if that makes a difference.
And for trivia, it looks like Kodak is no longer supporting upgrades of that plug-in.
Have not found anything that works better yet.

You've got the wrong forum, this forum is about the Community Help Application, please ask your question in the Photoshop forums:
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop
As for your question, there's nothing to "transfer", you simply open the image in the 32bit version of Photoshop when you want to use that plug-in and when you're finished you save the file, close Photoshop and then open the image in the 64bit version if you want/need to use the extra ram to further editing.

  • Transferring video files from camera to external drive.

    Forum,
How do I transfer video, or indeed can I, to an external drive using Firewire?
I can connect the camera with Firewire 400 to the computer and the external drive with F/wire 800.
I have not tried because i do not want damage my kit.
    Thank you
    Michael Craven.

Just connect the drive and see if you can capture to it... many times you can, but sometimes you can't... depends on the FW bridge in the drive. If it's fast enough, you won't have a problem. You won't hurt anything trying at any rate. If it drops frames or something, then a firewire card added to your system to create a second firewire bus will fix you right up.

  • Transferring video clips from to MacBook Pro?

Totally new to the Mac world...and trying to access some of my video clips that was stored on my pc (Sony vaio). I am not able to read these files and they are hugely important for my work. How do I transfer .wmv and .AVI or read or open such files? Hope somebody knows what I am talking about Thaaanks

    Hey QueenLioness,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities! You can use codec components to extend QuickTime to import or play additional media formats (such as .wmv and .avi). You can read more about how to do so here:

  • Transferring images from a PC to a Mac

Fist of all, please excuse me if my questions appear elementary but I am a recent convert to Apple and to digital photography. I have a PC desk top computer and a just-purchased MacBook Pro. At the moment all of my images are on the internal hard drive of my PC and the drive is filling up fast. I need a short term solution to my diminishing internal disk space that will tide me over until I learn enough about workflow to invest in a longer term solution. I want to view and edit my images on the MacBook Pro. I realize it's not the best way to edt but it will have to do until I replace my PC with a desktop Mac which I intend to do. But in the meantime I don't want to clog up my Mac unnecessarily with thousands of images. So, my questions: 1)) What is the best way of transferring my images from the PC to my Mac? 2) If I transfer my images to an external hard drive from my PC will my Mac have any problems reading them? 3) Can an external hard drive be formatted to read both PC and Mac files? 4) Rather than get an external drive for my PC (since I don't intend to edit on the PC, am I better to get one for my Mac? 5) Can someone suggest a good on-line tutorial on this topic so that I don't need to trouble all you good folk. Any advice would be appreciated.

There are many solutions: Your first stop is www.macwindows.com, and read everything in site re: formatting ext HD's to run on both, your best solution. There are apps that allow macs to read/write/ drag & drop to /from Fat 32 & NTSF partitions, and visa versa, read about networking and remote controlling PC's and Macs, as well. A simpler but time consuming solution is internet backup/ syncing via Sugar Sync or Mobile me.
*maybe you can help me: I'm about to get my first PC to capture digital dental xrays. I'm told that the imaging sensors drivers only work on a PC/xp or Vista, 32 or 64, though they are written in 32. I want to network (automatic syncing of dental image files and practice mgmt files from the imaging app & mgmt app) the PC to an iMac, either booted in Vista 64 or running it in emulation. The PC Imaging app (Apteryx) and the PC Mgmt app (Dentimax) works either way on the iMac. How do I:(1) set up a wireless network, (2) that onlt auto syncs the 2 dental apps files, (3) on a Vista booted iMac, or ($) on a Vista emulated by Fusion, iMac????? Thanks! I assume a V booted imac is a PC to PC setup, but I have no idea how to do this? I also find it hard to believe that the sensor drivers wont work on a V booted iMac!

  • My IT department transferred images from my Blackberry to my Iphone, they are in "Photo library". there is 1500  images, many are duplicates and when I hit edit, delete is not an option. how do i delete the duplicate images?

my IT department set up my Iphone and transferred the images from my Blackberry. I have over 1500 images showing in "Photo Library" and lots of them are duplicates (same image). When I hit edit it will not allow me to delete them, delete is not an option shown. How do I get rid of the duplicates?
In Photo library, when I hit edit the only avail options are share or add to. Please help, i dont want 1500 images on the phone.

Are they really duplicates or are you simply referring to the Photo Library?
Just as a song is in your itunes library and the exact same song can be accessed via a playlist, all synced photos are in the Photo Library and those exact same photos ( not duplicates) can be accessed from the chose folder/album.
You delete these pica the same way you put them there.  The sync process.  Deselect them in itunes and sync.

  • Fastest way of transferring images from servlet to applet?

    Hi!
I have made an applet that shows a large number of images. The way I am doing it now is that I create an ArrayList containing ImageIcons and pass that from the servlet to the applet.
What I'm looking for is a faster way of loading and transferring the images from the sevlet to the applet. I don't want to use any other packages than the core J2SDK packages. It is supposed to work in all browsers with just the standard java plugin.
    Can anyone help me?

Use an Image (or ImageIcon if you want to be Java2 only) object in the Applet, and load your images directly from a URL (which you'll have to supply an array of from the servlet somehow). That way the images will be sent over the network in their original compressed form, not as serialized Java objects.

  • In FCE, how do i retrieve lost video images for my edit?

In FCE, a project that i have worked on has lost some of the video images from an original file imported from iMovie. The source footage still remains in iMovie. How do i get the lost images back, without having to re-edit the whole thing?
Also, please, what is the short cut to "highlight all" or select all" in FCE?
    Thanks for your help!

Import the source footage from the iMovie events folder and add it in.
Command-A. Pretty much always in every Mac application.
