Bonjour;
Mon calendrier se transfert tout seul sur mon ipad il est bien synchroniser par contre les contacts que j ai sur mon iphone n'apparaissent pas sur mon ipad ... Comment faire ?

Can you provide a little more detail on the issue? How are you trying to access the contacts (from Safari on an iPad, for example)? Do you have Contacts turned on in Settings on the iPad?

Bonjour ce matin j'ai perdu tous mes contacts sur mon iPhone 4. Je les ai sur mon iPad, sur mon iMac, dans iloud mais je ne trouve pas comment les transférer sur mon iPhone. Si quelqu'un sait. Merci !

J'oubliais j'ai fait le test avec d'autres iphone 3 et 4 aurpès de mes amis qui n'utilisent pas voice over parce qu'ils y voient, et dès qu'ils mettent voice over oups les conversations font pareil que moi ! je voudrais savoir si cela le fait avec tous les iphones avec voice over ?

ICloud, Lion, Contacts, iPhone 4, & iPad 2

I upgraded my Mac book Pro to Lion and at the same time setup iCloud. Lion upgrade went great. After iCloud install I synced with my Address Book and iCal. Calendar sycn went fine, but the Address book pulled about 25% of my contacts up to iCloud. After which I synced my iPhone and the same contacts that were moved up to iClould were removed from my iPhone 4. What makes this even more interesting is the contacts that were pulled up to iCloud are my most frequently used numbers?
In additon, my Address Book on my Mac still has all the original contacts, but will not let me re-sync with my iPhone. But, on my iPad, all contacts are still there with none removed?
I have looked through a number of forums on Apple Support, but have not found anything like this - yet.
I have turned off iCloud syncing for everything on my Mac for now, but I would like to get the contacts back on my iPhone. I would rather not do this 'by hand' as there are about 175 very detailed contacts.
Anyone have any ideas?

OK, I got it to work, by turning iCloud Contacts off, as you suggested. I then went into iTunes and checked the Contacts syncing in iTunes. I had gotten messages saying sycning Contacts and iCal would no longer work with iTunes, but I guess it does if you turn off iCloud? Regardless, I now have all my contacts back on my iPhone, (whew)!

Je possède un Iphone depuis plusieurs mois et un Macbook Pro depuis Hier. Je souhaite sauvegarder les App de mon Iphone dans Itunes mais ce logiciel ne me propose que l'inverse (remplacer les App IPhone par les App présentes dans Itunes). Si je fais ça je pense forcément perdre mes App Iphone puisque je vais les remplacer par ... rien.
Comment faire?

If you erase the iPad completely, (erase all content and settings) the addresses will go away, but they will return again as soon as you start sending emails again and entering text in the To: field. And you will have to set the iPad up all over again.
If you reset all settings - they will not go away.
Erasing the device is pretty radical and it is only a temporary fix anyway. The suggested email addresses window will always pop up when you start entering text into the To: field and there is no way to deactivate it.

Synchronisation des Contacts entre PC Windows 8 et iPad

Je dispose depuis peu d'un iPad # DMRJNSCXDFHW. Je rencontre une difficulté pour synchroniser les contact de ma messagerie installée sur un PC sous Windows 8. La messagerie est Windows Life Mail, le fichier Contacts associé est du format WAB, nommé Carnet d'Adresses avec des entrées du type Fichier vCard (.vcf). La synchronisation entre le PC et l'iPad fonctionne bien pour la messagerie en réception et en envois ou réponses pour autant d'intraduire l'adresse manuellement. Lors d'un envoi ou d'un transfert, le carnet d'adresse reste désespérément vide. Dans Contacts de l'iPad seul mon nom apparaît. Mon fornisseur d'accès est Skynet (Belgique), je dispose d'un compte de massagerie POP3 (pop.skynet.be) et d'un compte IMAP (imap.skynet.be) (installé pour essayer de résoudre le problème). En sortie SMTP la commande est relay.skynet.be. Les fonctions Skydrive (Microsoft), iCloud et iTunes sont activées. Je peux transférer des fichiers ou dossiers d'un système à l'autre. L'assistance Skynet me renvoie à vous en prétendant ne pas connaître l'environnement Windows 8. Dans l'aide en ligne Apple pour la synchronisation des contacts, Windows 8 n'est pas couvert (l'aide s'arrête à Windows 7). Comment procèder ? Merci d'avance.

Can we assume that iTunes does recognize the iPad? You can see your iPad under the devices heading in the left sidebar of iTunes?
If you are using iTunes 11 and you do not see the sidebar - go to View>Show Sidebar.

There are several applications available that remove duplicates, but I am not sure which ones work or don't work. I want information on this, but most importantly I want to understand how to fix this problem permanently. Also, I read somewhere that Mac's new operating system, Lion, can help deal with duplicates. I don't have Lion, but I would be willing to get it, if this would fix the problem.

Had the same problem with 4 devices (two computers, an iPhone and an iPod). The solution is simple: open the Address Book application in your mac, ask it to locate duplicate entries (under one of the top menu items, "edit" I think), and then ask it to consolidate them: it took me all of three seconds after I figured it out: worked like a charm! PS: if you have more than one mac with unconected Address Books, repeating the operation in the second one may be a good idea.

Check icloud.com to be sure you contact list is correct there. If it is, just go to Settings>iCloud on your device and turn Contacts to On to sync the contacts to your device. If contacts are already set to On and you still see duplicates, you may be viewing a duplicate contact group in addition to the iCloud contacts. Open Contacts, tap Groups, then tap any groups other than iCloud to uncheck them, then tap Done. See if the duplicates are still there.

When I merged my iPhone and iPad contact info., I lost all of the names that my messages were posted under. All conversations are now posted under phone numbers.

When setting up some iCloud info., agreed to merge iPhone and iPad contact info., and now most of my iPhone messages are listed by phone numbers, rather than by the person's name. I'm not sure what you mean about downloading photos with iPhoto being double handling, but you can download direct to a folder with Image Capture. Image Capture can also be used to delete photos from the Camera Roll on the iPhone or iPad (preferrably after they are downloaded).
You can remove the photos you synced from your phone with iTunes by syncing again with an empty folder, That will delete all the photos that were previously synced that way, replacing them with the contents of the empty folder (that is, nothing). This will not effect photos takes with the camera on your iPhone.

Cleaned up Outlook Contacts override iPhone and iPad

I have a Windows operating system on my computer and use Outlook for Contacts. I own an iPhone and an iPad. I spent hours deleting old contacts from my iPad...didn't quite get through the whole alphabet. Later on I was amazed to find all the old contacts back (must have done iclould sync with my iPhone). So now I went into my Outlook on my laptop and cleaned up the contacts there. I don't know how to make sure that my newest version of contacts in Outlook override the iPad and iPhone. Can you help me?

Open contacts on your phone and check your groups. Do your contacts belong to any non-iCloud groups such as On My iPhone, a Gmail, Yahoo or Exchange account, or anything else? Also check Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section). What is selected as your default account?

It was suggested I move this question to IPhoto or IMovie which I did.
Well moving to a different discussion group did not provide an answer to this question either. But what I finally did was import one batch of photos and videos into IPhoto for a given day at a time. Working with these I could change the date and times in order to get them in the original sequench taken. Then I would create an album with that batch. These would all be on the same day (IMove was closed for this phase). Then I would open IMovie, generate the thumbnails for that album, and select the album I had created. This was necessary because the importing process in IPhoto was using incorrect dates for my video so it was a real struggle finding them in IMove until I developed this approach.
I believe that this whole process was so screwy because I was importing from an external hard drive not a camera. I had these photos on a PC and did not have the original cameras to use to import directly which I am fairly sure would have made this easier!
