Transformations in BI content

Hi.,
I am using BI 7.0. I want to upload data for material master 0MATERIAL using 0MATERIAL_ATTR. I can either see the transformation or transfer rules between the souce and the destination in BI content. Transformations will be by default in BI content or we need to create it. More ever i see only a few transformation as part of BI content.
Kindly help me with this regard.

I check in the source system assignment. The source system is checked. While replicating the DS from source system i replicated based on BI 7.0 only. While activating the cube or infoobject from BI content i did not get any transformation or transfer rules for activation. I just got the cube alone..

Cannot install transformations in BI Content from 2LIS_03_BX to 0IC_C03

Hello All,
I am trying to install business content for cube 0IC_C03 in BI 7.0 but while installing In data flow before I could not see transformations for DataSource 2LIS_03_BX --> infosource 2LIs_03_BX_TR and from infosource 2LIs_03_BX_TR --> cube 0IC_C03.
Please help if someone has faced the similar problem and how to resolve it.

Datasource 2LIs_03_BX/BF/UM are no more available in 3.x. Does that mean flow is available only in BI 7 but we cannot locate transformations for the flow of cube 0IC_C03 in BI Content.

0py_c02 do not have the update rules or transformations in business content

Dear All,
I ma installing the Business content 0py_c02 cube with before data floe option , i found the infosource and transfer rules between Data source and info source but i can not found the Update rules betweeen the infosource and target.
Even if u consider the data source replicated in RSDS update mode, but ther is no transformations. how we can resolve this issue , if any body faced the same issue please update the same.
For creating mannully also there are routines in that update rules( checked same in IDES version) , i can do it same, but why the SAP not delivered the same, or i am going wrong in some where pls.
Any update please , Not received any replies pls.
Please any updates pls on this, The issue is open and waiting for responce from Experts.please can anybody update me.

Problem creating transformations in business content

I have made a connection between a NetWeaver 2004s BI system and a ECC 5.0 system .
i have installed BC content for cube 0SD_C03 which takes data from 2LIS_11_VAHDR and 2LIS_11_VAITM standard data sources . When i transferred the DS from R/3 to BW they were in 3.X format and i migrated it to 7.0 . Now it is not recognising the info source 2LIS_11_VAHDR and 2LIS_11_VAITM as they are of 3.x format and communicate with transfer rules. I think in this case i do not need infosources and tried to make a transformation between the cube 0SD_C03 and the ds 2LIS_11_VAHDR but it gives only one message " Proposal cannot be generated ". Can anyone tell me where i am going wrong???? even if i do the mapping manually shouldnt it automatically form the mappings ???

Yeh ...tranformations are bit hectic sometimes.
Since it is not generating any mapping for you, you have to map it manually in tranformation.

How to create transformations in BI content

hi, while doing lo extraction , i have used data source 2lis_11_vaitm and cube 0sd_c05. I have replicated the datasource in BI, can anyone tell me how to create transformations to the data target which is 0sd_c05.

Goto RSA1 --> select "BI content" --> select " object types" --> click on "Info cubes" --> click on selection --> search for your IC 0sd_c05 -- transfer the selection to RHS --> Select Grouping " in Dataflow before and aftewrdsr"
it will display the transformations and all the queries as well. collect all the objects which you want to install and click on install.

Transformation for BI Content Objects

Hi Friends,
I have some transformation problem in BI 7.0, where i'm getting strucked. Actually in BW 3.5 i used to activate the datasource in R/3 and then replicate, once it is done then i used to take relevant BI Content Cube in the business content by taking grouping "IN Data Flow Before" as per the requirement, so the transfer rules and update rules used to get mapped. But in BI 7.0 i'm trying to activate bi content, but not getting trasnformed the objects automatically, once the replication is done, i started installing bi content, i thought as per the earlier versions, they should be mapped.
Are there any certain steps to be followed to install BI Content in BI 7.0?
pls guide me.
i have taken the objects given below:
Datasource: 0FI_AR_4
ODS: 0FIAR_O03
CUBE: 0FIAR_C03

Hi Bala,
Yes it will not use the new concepts as per BI 7.0. Your best option is to install the business content for your objects in emulated mode, i.e 3.x.
Once you are happy with this, i.e test data loads, etc, you have the option to migrate these to the new concepts such as transformations, DTP's, etc.

Getting error in activating transformation in BI content

Hi Experts,
When I am activating this transformation CUBE 0PA_C01 -> CUBE 0TMC_C02 in bi content, I am getting error "Endroutine: Syntax error in routine".
I checked the end routine and checked it and received following msg:
E:The data object "LS_RESULT" has no component called "POT_VL_K", but there is a component called "POT_VL_C"
Since this is standard routine I cannot edit it.
Any suggestions..

But I am getting other errors while activating other transformations also which are as follows:
1. Transformation- TRCS 0PA_TMC_11 -> ODSO 0TMC_DS11
error message: Error in end routine
E:The data object "LS_RESULT" does not have a component called "NOM_STATUS".
2. Transformation- ODSO 0TMC_DS11 -> CUBE 0TMC_C01
Error while activating transformation Message no. RSTRAN510
3. In another transformation. The following infobject is kef figure.
Error:
InfoObject 0ACTION_CNT (version A) is not compounded
P.S: The solution provided by you in previous message needs to modify routine. But since this is standard routine how can i do it? Did you implement on your side?

i want to install in business content
when am install transformation related to 0pur _c01
the tech name TRCS 2LIS_02_SCL -> CUBE 0PUR_C01
i could not find out in Businees cntent selected objects ,but is there in meta data repository reg the same,
wat is the procedure need to follow?

Hi,
You can find out the any objects throught Mata data repository in RSA1
1. Go to RSA1 >>> Meta data repository
2. Enter the Data target Name for search 0PUR_C01 (CUBE)
3. It will dilsplay all the objects related to the above data target.
for example if i search with the above data target it will give it as :
Transformation TRCS 2LIS_02_ITM -> CUBE 0PUR_C01 0GRF0MGIFVPEYE8OLUONXUJ9LT0I13F2
In your case the data source is 2LIS_02_SCL check in the Source system , whether it is in active or not, if it is not active
Go to RSA5 >> Activate and transfer the data source , then it may available in BW side for installation.

Error while installing the Business Content 2lis_03_bf Transformation

Hi,
I have installed total 0ic_c03 cube and successful.
Data is populating correct. When ever Releasing the Request error getting which Local objects not captured in request which are there in 2lis_03_bf info source, For this Error I have deleted the objects from info source and activated and activated transformation. But those object are there in the ROUTINES and disturbed. KEYFIGURES Routine are disappeared.
Again when have installing the BF infosource and transformations from Business content is getting below error. for Ref below screen shot.
Please advise me : urgent

Hi,
it seems like issue with ABAP routine.
Can you try to get detail error by doing syntax check.
Also if you are in BW 7.31 - I notices while releasing it shows error. I will suggest ignore it and just released. it worked for me.
You always have option to recapture the transport and resend the same objects, if earlier failed.

Transformation not found in BI content

Hi Experts,
I am trying to activate transformation for 0CRM_OPPH from Bi Content but I can see only transfer fules and update rules. Why there is no transformation in BI content for this target?
We are at BI 7 EHP1

I believe SAP has not converted all of business content to BW7...one need to activate transfer rules / updates rules and then migrate those.
If you are sure SAP deliveres this transformation then please check you BI content version with one mentioned in doc of that transfromation.

Hai Can anybody tell me whether SAP BI 7 business content
comes with fully loaded transformations with all routines in place like our 3x update rules.
For ex when i load 0hr_pa_0 and 0hr_pa_1 in 3x iam getting the routine with code in place for business contents when i migrate iam unable to trace the transformations in Business content can somebody help or is it we have to do the coding stuff for age calculation,age range etc in transformations

How to escape special characters in Simple Transformation

I have got a problem to get a well formed xml document from the below simple transformation. The content of maktx contains
special characters like & <, which are not allowed in a well formed XML-Document. But the result of the Simple Transformation
contains this charcters even after the transformation as you can the in the result below. Has anyone a hint how to escape the
characters included in the maktx.
The transformation for maktx, should be something like

First of all thaks for your quick answer to my problem.
I see what you mean and get the same result, if I am using data-type string instead of xstring. But the recommendation in the XML-Books of SAP is to use XSTRING to save memory and circumflex problems between Codepages, when writing the XML-Stream to a filesystem.
As you can see in the code abvoe I am using a SAP-FM to display the XML-Stream and this FM works only with XSTRING´s,
that is one reason why I don´t understand that it displays it in the wrong way.
Even the Debugger shows me for the XSTRING the wrong result. Does all that mean that the escaping will not be applyed if you are working with XSTING´s??

Using the Mail content and Mail Attachment in the mapping

I have a requirement in which I need to read a file from the mail server and I am using the sender mail adapter for this. I have to convert the attachment of the mail in to the payload. To do this I am using the payload swap bean and mail transform bean. Now the issue is I have to get the information from both attachment and the mail content and need to map it to the target message. Please let me know how to do this.

Not sure if there is a staright forward way to achieve this.
But I can think of a work around for your scenario.

Instead of doing it this way, try
1. Message Transform bean that will transform the payload(content of the mail) to XML.
2. PayloadSwapBean to switch Payload and Attachment.
3. Message Transform bean to transform the attachment to XML.
4. Custom adapter module to read the attachment, contnet and create your own desired XML.
Alternatively, step 4 could be replaced by a Java mapping doing the same operation.

Experts:
We are on this BI_Cont patch level:
BI_CONT 703 0014 SAPKIBIIQ4 Business Intelligence Content Component Supp. Pkg.
We are installing BI content for many cubes. I'm not finding many Transformations in this content level.
I would like to minimize the migration effort and the manual correction of transformation routines that do not convert correctly.
Can you suggest how I can locate more BI Content Transformations or recommend how best to correct transformation routine conversion errors?

BI content with transformations is a widely discussed topic and no one is quite sure of when the content is to be migrated . In all likelihood - some of it has but all of it has not. The best bet would be to check the release notes for the same in help.sap.com but then trawling the same is tedious....
We had similar issue of installing BCont as the manna for migrating all the business content but decided otherwise since most of the content was not yet in 7.0 versions...

Transformations for 2LIS_13_VDHDR,2LIS_12_VCHDR/ITM,2LIS_11_VAHDR/ITM

Hello all,
I implementing std sales & distribution module in BI 7.0.
So i am getting transaformation only for 2LIS_13_VDITM.
All other datasources 2LIS_13_VDHDR, 2LIS_12_VCHDR, 2LIS_12_VCITM, 2LIS_11_VAHDR,2LIS_11_VAITM are in 3.x.
i am not getting any transformation in BI contents.
So what can i do now?
can i migrate all these in BI 7 ? if i migrate these to BI 7 , can i get its transaformation , mappings etc after migration.
if i do it manually transaforamtion etc one by one where can i get mappings details for these datasource.
if i migrate these and when i create transformation for it , is automatically mapping will happen or i need to do it manually?

Hi,
We dont have the TFs for those dataosurce.
Activate the Updaterules and migrate them to RFs.Even after migration from UR , you still need to do the coding of start routines,,etc.
