Transformations in BI7.0

Hi,
The major functionality changes in Transformations in BI 7.0 when compared to Transfer rules and Update rules in BW3.x. Could anyone put light on, It will be helpful.

ASSERTION_FAILED, Short dump when activating Transformation in BI7.0

Hi All,
I have migrated 3.5 update rule to 7.0. And during transformation activation i am getting short dump giving following messges:
"ASSERTION_FAILED"
"CL_RSTRAN_GEN_STEP= = = = = CP"
"CL_RSTRAN_GEN_STEP= = = = = CM005"
"GET_CONTAINER"
My system support pack is 15. I searched many OSS Notes but i am not able to get the exact soln.
can anybody help me out with this problem?

this error is generally due to inconsistency in metadata
refer OSS note: 1071255, 1094266, 998730, 829353, 926854
Try to implement this solution from OSS 998730:
Call transaction SE16 (Table Browser) and the 'RSTRANRULE' table with the following selection parameters:
GROUPID = 'space'
GROUPTYPE = 'space' or 'S'
REF_RULE <> 'space'
If there are inconsistent entries in the RSTRANRULE table such as:
 TRANID *
OBJVERS *
RULEID *
SEQNR *
GROUPID 00
GROUPTYPE space or GROUPTYPE 'S'
RULETYPE space
REF RULE *
Delete these entries from the table.
Activate the affected transformations.

BEx "Query transformation from BI7.0 to BI3.5

hi gurus,
we have developed our BEx query in BI 7.0.
but we have to change them from 7.0 compatible to 3.5 compatible.is there any provision to do that if it possible then please help me.

Hi Kumar,
I think there is no way to copy or save a new query created in 7.0 to 3.x.
But you can use Program COMPONENT_RESTORE to restore 3.x queries which were converted to 7.0 queries.
But there is one disadvantage of this program that this will not restore the changes that were made to the query after converting to 7.0.

Transformation check error

Hi Experts,
I have created transformations in BI7.0 with Start Routine and Transfer Routines.
when i am checking individual routine, checking total transformations, activating transformations and saving transformations also fine without error.
my problem is: when i am checking total transformationsin display mode, it's showing syntax errors in routines.
can u pls tell me my transformations will work properly, or really transformations consist runtime errors.
there is no error in change mode........

I think, i have changed the start routine after writing individual routines.

pls tell me if i leave the transformations like this, will it work when they run DTP or not?( i cant load now)

I've Start routine on transfer rules with internal table and it was working fine.
Now I'm trying to define the internal table with occurs 0 but it's throwing error saying occurs not support in new version.
How can we define an internal table in start routine of transformations in BI7?
The code as follows for internal table.
data: begin of it_ord occurs 0,
AUFNR(000012) TYPE C,
ZZARBPL(000008) TYPE C,
WERKS(000004) TYPE C,
end of it_ord.

I've defined as follows
    types: begin of it_ord ,
            AUFNR(000012) TYPE C,
            ARBPL(000008) TYPE C,
            WERKS(000004) TYPE C,
          end of it_ord.
    data: temp_tabix like sy-tabix,
          is_datapak type tys_SC_1.
    data it_ordt type table of it_ord .
It's throwing error saying it_ort is a table with no header line and therefore has no component called aufnr.
If I define with header line then header line not supported.
What could be the problem?
I've changed like you said but it's giving the following error.
E:"IT_WA" is not a table with header line.

Hi Satish,
You want to transport transformations. This transformation can be between datasrc and the infocube or any such 2 objects.
The target system where you want to transport this should have these 2 objects. They must be active in the target system.
If not then the request which you will transport should also have these 2 activated objects along with the transformation.

How to Identify the Source System in a Transformation Rule?

   In a 3.x system if I needed to identify the source system, the interface had a parameter SOURCE_SYSTEM LIKE RSUPDSIMULH-LOGSYS. I do not see the same in a Transformation Rule. Can anyone tell me how can I make a decision in my transformation rule depending on the Source System?
    Say for instance I want to change the following Update Rule from a 3.x System to a Transformation in BI7:
IF SOURCE_SYSTEM = 'ABC'.
   RESULT = 1.
ELSEIF SOURCE_SYSTEM = 'A11'.
   RESULT = 2.
ELSEIF SOURCE_SYSTEM = 'AZ1'.
   RESULT = 3.
ELSE.
   RESULT = 0.
ENDIF.
Can anyone help? Points will be rewarded.

   But how would I know the Request ID within a transformation ? REQUID is the key of the table rsbkrequest ? The interface of the transformation method has the following parameters:
IMPORTING
    request     type rsrequest
    datapackid type rsdatapid
    SOURCE_FIELDS
   EXPORTING
     RESULT
So all I can be aware of is the Request Name and the Data Packet Number. For instance when I took your approach, I got the Request Name as "DTPR_8E3VKVN0RJPDNXAKMP0PZJ99B" now I cannot look up with this against the key of the table because REQUID is a number field. Now, if I look up against the field "Data Transfer Process ID (DTP)" I do not find any entry in this table.
   Any more info?

Transformations in BI 7

Hi guys,
What is the difference between the Transformations in BI7 and transfer rules/ Update rules in BW3.5?

you would create a infopack on the datasource to load till PSA. and DTP's to load to any number of cube's/ods's.
flow would be somthing like this:
datsource - infopack - PSA - DTP (transformation=mapping) - ODS or/and cube
What is the difference between Infopackage and data mart in BI 7?
infopack is no different from what it was in 3.x, just that we no more use it to load it dataproviders, And Datamart is obsolete as with 7.0, as you can do the same stuff with DTP's

Change your code like the one below

ARBPL(000008) TYPE C,
WERKS(000004) TYPE C,

Flat File Loading

Hi Experts,
I am loading data from Flat File to DSO.I got the following error while activating Data in DSO.
"No SID found for value ' 0500136A' of characteristic 0MAT_SALES"
I have checked in Material sales master data I have the value 0500136A in .If you see above error it showing some space in front of 0500136A.I am not seeing that space in master data.I was edidted again and loaded to DSO and activated Then I got same error.Is it problem with Excel File formatting related.Pls through some light onthe issue.

I am trying to create Transfer rules for 7.0 Datasource, but i am not able to see the 7.0 datasource when i try to assign it to infosource, currently i am using DTP(and it works fine), but is there any way to avoid using DTP and use Transfer rules and update rules for 7.0 datasource?

Hi,
Probably BI7.0 datasouces are migrated so u have to again convert into 3.5 datasource using RSDS transaction.
If u want to use 3.5 objects (Infosource) then just install in 3.x version then use that for u r transformation and BI7.0 objects let it be there there is no problem with that.

Transport Error. Sintax error in routine.

Hi all,
I'm facing an error and I would like to receive some help.
I'm trying to transport a transformation of BI7.0 from development to quality environment and I'm receiving this error:
Start of the after-import method RS_TRFN_AFTER_IMPORT for object type(s) TRFN (activation mode)
Transformation 0375K6W8L81KCGPGVDUBF7P9Y1O9AZEL deleted in version M of DDIC
Activation of Transformation type object

Rule (target: ZIMPPRESU, group: 01 Grupo estándar): Syntax error in routine
Transformation : Rule 13 could not be imported
I've checked the routine and no sintax errors are found. It works perfectly in dev.
I found a similar post in sdn:
And I followed the steps I found in it. I recollected the tranformation objects in the transport connection and no objects were missing.
In RSLOGSYSMAP table I have one record and the ONLYNEW field is empty. I don't know if it's ok or not but it's not the first time I have transported this transformation.
Can anyone help me in resolving this issue?

We faced a similar problem last week...
Check the routine first ...There might not be a syntax error but maybe you are using the routine to fetch data from someother ODS or infocube or using an infoobject which might not have been transported...
In our case, we were fetching data from another ODS using this routine and had not transported that ODS, thats why we faced this problem...
Some object required for the routine to work fine, has not been transported, thats why its showing this error......
