Transition causing colors to be off in transition

I'm trying to recreate a transition/fade of an image from a
flash file that I only have the swf to. It looks great on my box,
but once live a viewed through Firefox, the colors get almost
pschycodelic during the transition. I am using a tween between 0%
alpha setting to 100% alpha, and selecting the blend to 'Hard
Light'.
Has anyone else seen this and know of a work around?

Hmmm - no. I haved asked about a similar issue, I think I know the possibilities, but I will try.
In PhotoShop I haven't uset spot or pantone together with colors since the .eps or DCS2 days.
Do you know if DCS2 is still a posibility if you use multicolors?

OS 10.4.6 is causing color shift in prints

Since I updated to 10.4.6 My prints have a severe red cast to them. All perameters used in printing are the same as previous and my Epson 2200 is working properly. I have color managment turned off in the driver and am using the correct prifiles fo the paper. I saw another post where others were having display problems but my images display fine but print badly.
Anyone else have this problem or a suggestion.

I'm having the same issues as people above and as on some similar threads.
First, I've color managed for awhile. Beginning with calibrated monitors, Photoshop's "View" menu settings, my color space ...
I know not to double color manage, and I choose to manage through Photoshop. I've reinstalled everything and read these boards and other threads on the web.
Here are my problems.
I am getting severe color shift and cannot get an accurate print. I've spoken with Epson ($$) and Adobe. All fingers point to Apple. Going through the printing process, everything is fine until soft proofing before hitting the final print button. That preview ALWAYS shows a shift in color if any color management has been applied. (I just tested an image without any color management and there still is a shift.)
Today I trying to print blue hydrangeas for a town project; they are shifting toward magenta. Last week I worked on a town-wide Relay for Life (ACS fundraiser); night-time images with candles ... shifted green. (Again, my with calibrated monitors.)
Ironically, when I was on 10.3.7 I didn't have any trouble. After that it's been roulette. I have an Apple Care contract and called Apple. Understanding that not every rep knows the ins and outs of color management, I asked him to forward an email to someone who can help me.
Grrr. I was told that since Photoshop and Epson are not Apple products they can't help me. Surely, web searches show that this is known problem. (Some suggest trashing Apple's Generic RGB profile ...)
Can ANYONE at Apple help? Please? Isn't that what an Apple Care contract should do?
I have 20 (different) prints due to a family by tomorrow. I have an additional 150 prints due by Thursday. Am I expected to borrow someone's Windows PC and use it to send the image to my printer?
(Also, I've installed several icc profiles in the past, but can't install any currently. I'm trying to install Museo and Arches profiles.
What is happening? Newer profiles don't show up in the print driver's "Print Settings," "Media Type" pull down menu, no matter where I try to load the newer icc profiles.)

The screen color just went off when I connect WD thunderbolt and Viewsonic Screen. What can I do?

I bought Macbook Air with WD Thunderbolt and Viewsonic screen. If I connect the screen to Macbook Air, it works. I connect Hard Drive first and screen connnect to Hard Drive. The color just went off. I have try on RGB and DVI. It has same result. What can I do? Bugs?

Try restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). It may not be properly assigning an IP address to your iPhone.

All my prints using: Lightroom 5, printer color management turned off, and non-generic ICC profile (e.g. Epson Premium Glossy) have magenta tint or cast

I'm using PC with: Windows 8.1, 64bit, Lightroom 5.4, Epson R3000, 6.75 (latest) driver, color management turned off in printer settings, Lightroom configured to manage color. If I use a generic ICC profile such as Epson sRGB, the prints look OK. But when I use any ICC profile dedicated to my paper and printer combination, such as Epson Premium Glossy, or one created using ColorMunki print profile, the prints all have a medium to heavy magenta tint or cast. The effect can be seen before I even print in the Epson Print Preview. Yet when I soft proof, I don't see this effect. I suspect the problem lies somewhere in the CMM process, but I can't pin it down. Any tips or suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you kindly for your insightful response. As it turns out, the answer is half correct. I've found others who'll say the same thing, that double color management will lead to a very magenta result. I believe this was certainly the case when I first started playing with the settings, Where I went wrong, is that after I corrected my settings by turning off printer manages color and letting Lightroom do the color management, is that the Epson Print Preview was still showing magenta with certain profiles. Not wanting to waste more money on paper and ink, I used the preview to gauge whether I was going to get a normal print or not. Then one day I ignored the print preview's magenta cast as a 'warning' and I went ahead printed the photo anyways. Because I used a profile that I created with ColorMunki Photo, the picture came out perfect (i.e. a very good match to what I was seeing in Lightoom on my monitor). The lesson learned is that for judging the final color correctness, the Epson Print Preview can be way off target and your best bet is to ignore it.

Photoshop CS6 selection, shape, and text is causing colored artifacts on screen

The Photoshop CS6 (13.0.4) selection, text, and shape tool causes colored artifacts on screen. I'm running on a retina Macbook Pro updated to the latest ML release. I have disabled GPU acceleration. I have also tried starting Photoshop with no plugins but this does not help.

SOLVED. After two days of intense debugging I've identified the issue as an interaction between the ICC color profile, integrated GPU, and Photoshop. The ICC profile was created with an i1Display Pro using the i1Profiler software. The issue occurs when you create the color profile using the LUT setting. Creating a profile using the matrix setting seems to be ok. In summary, these are the specific conditions that cause the issue (for me):
1) Using a color profile created with the LUT setting with i1Profiler and i1Display Pro
2) Using the integrated GPU (discrete GPU is disabled in Photoshop Performance setting)
3) Running on Photoshop 13.0.4 (13.0+ all have the issue) on a 15" Macbook Pro with Retina display
Creating a new profile with the matrix setting OR enabling the discrete Nvidia GPU will also make the artifacts go away. The integrated GPU using the LUT based color profile does not seem to have any artifacts in any other photography and video editing software that I've tried so Photoshop is playing a role. The nature of the artifacts also change from Photoshop version 13.0 to 13.0.4. For example, in Photoshop 13.0 the Marquee Tool has no issues while 13.0.1+ has artifacts.

Lightroom 2.2 Printing Problems...color is way off

I have had issues with printing in Lr but never really cared since I used Zoombrowser to print most of my stuff for "around the house" and everything always looked fine (even if I modified the image in LR and printed from Zoombrowser). The colors coming from printing in Lr were always way off when using my Pixma IP4300.
I just purchased a Epson 3800 and now I would like to start using Lr for printing. I have tried everything I know and the colors are still way off when printed from Lr. I selected the appropriate color profile in LR for the printer and paper type, I turned off ICC color in the printer setup menu and the color is still off. If I save the Lr photo and print from Zoombrowser then it looks perfectly fine (still turning off ICC).
Now that I have a nice printer I'd love to be able to print right from Lr as it would save me alot of time and significantly increase my options.

I doubt the reason that I didn't get any replies is because people assumed I didn't search. There is no way of knowing who did and didn't search the forums before offering to help someone.
I searched the forums and found no problems similar to mine using the same OS, printer and Lr version.
Here is my problem with some more detail:
I am using Lr 2.2 64bit, Vista Ultimate 64, Epson 3800 Pro (6.5 drivers), Premium Lustre Photo Paper.
Here is what I am doing.
1) When in Lr and ready to print I select the Lr profile as "Pro38 PLPP" which is the 3800 Paper profile that is in the list of available profiles for Lr.
2) I select Relative (perceptual didn't appear to change anything)
3) I click "print" then I am taken to the 3800 selection menu.
4) I click properties next to the selected printer, I leave everything alone except for "mode"...I chaneg it from Auto to Custom and then select No color adjustment. Everything else appears fine...the paper type is correct etc. But when print the photo the reds come out pinkish etc etc. All of the colors are pretty far off.
I reinstalled the 64bit drivers from epson and nothing changed.
Any ideas?

Printing to Stylus Photo 2200 At High Resolution Causes Color Shift

I recently upgraded to InDesign CS3, and I'm having color issues when printing to my Epson Stylus Photo 2200 using higher resolution settings.
From the Print dialog box I click the Printer button and choose Print Settings from the pull down menu. For Media Type I choose Enhanced Matte Paper and set the Print Quality to Photo - 1440.
When I print the file (a document I've printed successfully many times before) the grey process color in my logo come out burgundy, and the other colors are all off.
If I don't adjust any of the Printer settings, the colors appear fine, but the quality is poor.
How can I fix this issue?

Sorry for being but I was just brought in to solve the same problem as Nobody Special and now searching forums! Both Apple Cinema monitor and Epson 2200 were calibrated with a Greytag MacBeth Eye1Photo.
The problem is a color shift and a greater saturation of color. When the image was printed with the same system using InDesign and Photoshop CS2, it printed accurately. With CS3, the problem noted above developed.

Sorry, Peter. I cannot. When I click to capture the screen, the palette disappears. Perhaps I can better describe it: when I wish to select a text color, I used to get a drop down palette. Now the palette is "dropping up," so it disappears off the top of my screen. I have to click into it to get it to drop down so I can see it. So, every time I want to pick a text color, I now have this extra step to deal with.
It started suddenly, seemingly out-of-the-blue.

Send to Final Cut Pro in Color off an external Hard Drive, causes Color to Crash

Okay, so I'm having some Color issues guys...
I'm color correcting a feature right now, and just completed the CC with Color. I did the entire color correct on an internal hard drive on a Mac Pro. My client wanted to take a look at the CC on a different machine, so I transferred all of the FCP files, Color Projects, footage, etc. (the ENTIRE directory from my machine) onto an external hard drive....
...When I opened the color project from the external drive on his machine, all of my media was gone, so of course I reconnected the media (directly from the source, the same source files I edited with in FCP), and everything was fine. My grades were there, and everything looked great....
....I rendered my Color sequence and tried to Send To Final Cut Pro, and color crashed on me. It continued to do this....
....I went back to my machine and tried to Send To Final Cut Pro, and everything worked just fine. What went wrong with the data transfer? Is that the reason Color keeps crashing? Is it because I relinked the footage in Color to the original source files? It doesn't make sense to me. All of the data from the original drive was moved to an external and relinked.
I'm pretty new to Color so any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

Copy the original project and media to the external drive using Media Manager. It will maintain the links.

1610HD Blank screen causes Color wheel fault

When I use the blank screen function on the projector, the screen blanks with the message
"Press Blank again..." for about 30 seconds or so. I then see the lamp turn off and the two amber lights flashing on top indicating a problem with the color wheel. Power cycling the projector restores operation until the screen is blanked again. Does anyone else have a problem with the screen blanking feature causing a color wheel fault?

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later...
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Scrolling down in web pages causes color saturation

I'm not sure if this should go under Safari or the Mighty Mouse (plugged/not Bluetooth). This just started a couple of days ago. When I use the scroll wheel to scroll down in web pages, the colors and fonts all get continually more saturated. I can't do a screen shot because once I click off the page, the page goes back to normal. I checked the settings for the fonts and it had smooth scrolling set for 8 size or smaller. I set it to 4 and it still is doing the same thing so I'm guessing it's not that.
I have no idea what could be causing this. Any ideas?

I have the same problem with Safari. As I scroll down fonts gradually lose anti-aliasing and in addition all inline images blotch to unsightly colours. Scrolling inline pdfs produces horizontal lines in the viewer pane.
It occurs with trackpad two finger scrolling as well as with the MM's scroll ball.
Rebooting and resetting Safari doesn't help.

CP1525nw color alignment is off

I've had my CP1525nw for a couple of years. Been good. Today I noticed some color
shadowing on an image. To demonstrate the problem, I printed 6 1" circles;
red, green, blue, yellow, cyan, and magenta. The blue circle has a light magenta
shadow about .05" to the lower right.
I turned the printer off, deleted and re-installed the drivers with no improvement.
I have done cleaning and calibration. I'll appreciate a response. Thanks, Dave

I have read that this can be caused by a toner cartridge that is low. Replacing the low cartridge may allow the alignment to complete properly.

Connecting to TV via s-video causes color gradients

I connect to my CRT (non-HD) TV from the macbook pro via 'dvi to svideo' cable and then plug the svideo cable into the TV. I'm using a macbookpro 15".
Couple of issues I've noticed when playing a DVD and outputting to the TV. The DVD movie is widescreen.
1) The widescreen picture is displayed an inch or so from the edge of the TV screen. If I play the DVD in a dedicated dvd player, the picture goes to the edge of the screen.
2) When there is supposed to be a transition from light to dark on an object. For example, the moon having a 'soft glow' around it. The picture on the tv will display it as 2-3 ever darkening bands. Rather than a smooth transition from light to dark.
I've tried some of the display settings such as creating a calibrated profile and selecting the 'overscan' and 'optimize for video' which don't seem to have much effect. Additionally, the picture displayed on the laptop's LCD is sharp without either of the above 'side effects'.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What you see is about as good as it gets for a $25 DVI to S-Video adapter. have you tried the composite adapter output?
What I wish is that someone would make a machine that would let you watch DVD's on a TV set, without needing to connect a mac to it, and that would have better quality. And cheap.

Adobe DNG converter is corrupting NEF files. The color is way off and it's not the camera white balance.

I was using the converter for a few months and it was working fine. Now it will convert the files, but the color is really messed. I know it is not the white balance, because the same files convert fine to TIF files through Nikon's software. I am using this converter for Nikon d610 NEF files. Here's a sample DNG and the same image in TIF. Can anyone help? Thanks!

When you use the DNG Converter to make a DNG from an NEF, the DNG Converter applies the default Camera Raw settings. When I open your DNG it looks fine, but when you open it, it looks off. That is because you've some how set your Camera Raw defaults to have a bunch of customized settings specific to a particular picture, instead of having them all be normal settings. Below you'll see what Photoshop is saying the settings of the DNG-Converted-JPG are, with the non-defaults marked in bold. The main problems are the WB being custom and a bunch of HSL setting changes.

To fix the problem you're gonna need to reset your camera raw defaults:
And then be careful when saving new camera raw defaults with the menu item just above, that your image has the camera raw defaults applied to it, except whatever small change you want to be the new default.

Epson PictureMate and LR - colors are way off

Have the original 'toaster' PictureMate on Vista. The drivers are built-in and Epson's site doesn't have Vista-centric drivers for it, so I am good there I guess.
In the LR Print module I am able to choose the printer and adjust the properties of the printer through the printer driver/windows dialog boxes but cannot see where to turn off color-management. Leaving LR with 'let printer manage colors' just gives me muted, gray colors.
If I use LR to choose a profile just brings up an empty dialog box... so obviously there are not any profiles loaded with the driver?
Looked online for Profiles and couldn't find any.
Does anyone have any idea on how to disable printer managed colors OR how to get a profile for the PictureMate series?
Resorted to exporting and printing from Windows Photo Gallery which works, but extra steps...

Have you removed the print cartridges and cleaned the contacts both on the catridges and were they sit i the printer with a lint free cloth and some bottled water? If you have and that does not help the issue it would be time to upgrade that printer.
