Transition to Show Form in XML FOrms??

Dear SDN,
I have a requirement in which i have to display the news summary in RenderListForm and its Details in the Show Form but the Show Form Appears in a New POPup window, which is Counter to our requirement.
How to get Show Form Content in the Same active window and Avoid Popup window.??
Please help me with the same.

create 2 km navigation iview.in iview propertise set one is news browser,and another is news explorer,assign this to iviews in to single page
i think now u get both forms in same page

Hi Raj,
You can do that way, but at times what happens is, if u try changing the extension while saving it saves as "<b>Form.xml.srf</b>" wherein, still its recognized as a srf file. So, you save it as an srf first, and then, change (rename) the extension from .srf to .xml

How to get back from Show form to Render List form in XML Forms

Hi,
As we use the Hyperlink "Display" in RenderList form to go to Show form similarly what kind of hyperlink shoul we use in Show Forms to get back to RenderList Forms.
We did try out with the Back option but are not getteing the desired result.

BPELConsole: Initiate does not show HTML or XML form to fill in variables

Hi,
i am using a xsd with a cascaded import of other xsds.
If i use one import layer everything is fine.
But if i use something like:
1.xsd (imports 2.xsd)
2.xsd (imports 3.xsd)
The BPELConsole refuses to show me a HTML or XML form where i can fill in the variables...

For time being create one dummy process with request and response as a string type and call your process with the [xml]string input by creating partnerlink.
Generate xml from the schema with xml generator tools.
or use java api to invoke the process.

Show lifetime in xml forms?

Hi ,
I have created forms for News using XML Form Builder.I have also put the ValidFrom and ValidTo Fields on my Edit form for the News Authir to set Life Time for the news he will create.
The Properties value for both ValidFrom and ValidTo Fields is as follows :
ValidFrom : /Properties/tbp:VALIDFROM
ValidTo : /Properties/tbp:VALIDTO
I have enable time-based publishing for my folder where these forms/news is being saved.
But the time-based publishing is not working.
I even tried setting properties in Details -> Lifetime for the news craeted directly but its not working.
I am using EP6 SP14.
Wht could be going wrong.

In Content Management,I have created a folder "abc" under the repository "document".This folder will hold the xml files created for the news items.
The document repository is predefined and has been assigned the Repository Service "tbp".
i have enabled the time-bound publishing for the folder "abc" in its Detail section.
For the news reader , I have made the folder "abc" as "read only".
But the news reader is not able to see the news.
My xml form for the news Author has fields for entering date and time for both "Valid from" and "Valid To".
On saving the news item ,i can actually see these values in the property "LifeTime" of the news document that has been created.
I even set these ValidTo and ValidFrom at the "LifeTime" property also.
But nothing is working.
Also could u pls elaborate on ur statement :
"time-dependent publishing service requires the application property service."
Nothing is working for me.
Pls help.

Process flow between edit ,renderlistitem and show form in XML form builder

Hi Rajeev!
There is no process flow between those forms. They are seperate views of the same document, nothing more.
The Edit form is always used if you create or edit a xml document based on the form.
The renderlist item form is used if more than one XML document is shown, for example in a list.
The show form ist used if the document should be displayed in full, eg by clicking on an XML document in a list.
It is even possible to add more custom forms and display them. If you "preview" an XML document, you get the choice to display the document with all display forms available (default Renderlist item and Show). If you watch the URL when previewing a xml document you'll see an URL parameter selecting the form to show.

How to display system property in XML forms

Hi
We are using XML forms template for publishing news in KM. In the show form we got author field (a label in the form) which is mapped to system property createdby (PropertyReference = /Properties/default:createdby).But while displaying the form author is not getting populated. When I try to edit the form in XML forms builder in data model tab under properties node no property is visible. Nothing is shown up in properties even after reload option is selected from context menu of properties node.
I cheked by manually editing PropertyReference to some other property (e.g. modifiedby) but nothing is showing up.
Can you please suggest how the createdby system property can be shown in the xml form?

Hi Sudeep,
Please try to open the formbuilder in another machine and try to see the properties xml form design view.
You can even directly can create a lable in show form and add the property name along with the nama space name.
For default properties namspace is default.Create a lable UI element in show form and select the datasource property and add the property value in that.
With we can show file related system generated properties in show form.

XML Forms Template Translation

Hi expertes!
Customer is actively using XML templates for generating news and other KM content information.
All the XML forms templates are created using XML forms builder and created in local language. The customer has customers in different countries and want to have the Templates translated so they can easily create forms in different languages. Ie: forms translated, buttons, headings and so on....
One way of creating different templates would be to open up the local template in XML forms builder and make a copy(Save as) and translate the template, generate it and thus making template available in a different language. BUT this represents a lot of work if you have lets say 5-6 languages and all templates must be translated. Not to mention if you want to add a field, you would have to do it 5-6 times.
Question?
Are there any way of "translating" the XML template like you can do with "portal content translation" so you maintain only one XML form template but it changes according to the logon language of the portal?
like adding "language filters" to one xml template

Hi, Thanx to this Forums professional users
ihave found the way of translating the XML forms template for easy changing the XML forms language using Userid language. So when a user logs on and wants to create a new XML forms(news ect.) they get the form in their own language.
Found in SAP help:
Language-Dependent Resource Files
You can use the default resource files as a template for language-dependent resource files. Note the following naming conventions for language-dependent resource files:
<Preferences location>/<project name>/<project name>_<language key>.xml
For example, an item file for Italian could have the following ID:
/etc/xmlforms/SAP_DemoNews/SAP_DemoNews_it.xml
You have to create the language-dependent resource files manually (see Activities). You offcourse change the content of the xml
Question:
When we translate the form and test it, the entering template(xml) works perfect and we can generate the xml forms(news) in no time, BUT when displaying the XML forms in "SHOW" modus, it points back to a NON translated XML/XLS form. The translation of the form should also print/show the translated xml forms in SHOW modus also? Is there a way of translating the SHOW, bcs going into the forms builder is too time consuming and we can n ot do this bcs of short timeframe.

Hi,
You will have to add a input field in edit form of xml form. If you already have one, you can use that. Instad of binding this field to xml schema, bind it to Standard property which you will find under properties node. Display name is the property you should bind it. Whenever you save your form that field will over write the name of the document.

Using xml forms editor, is it possible to create a button which, when clicked, will send emails to selected recepients? Does xml forms provide this functionality?

Uploading Files from KM into xml Forms Builder

Hi all,
I want to display a news in my Portal that is having link to the documents present in KM repository for that i m using xml Forms builder to make News .
when i go to
Content Management->Forms Builder->xml Forms Builder
->created an New Project
In that I have used a browser and mapped it with data schema having string type.
and used the same data schema in Renderlist form and in show form as Label but when i upload the file using Km navigation Iview . In the Layout set property of Navigation Iview i set it ot NewsExplorer and in another iview i set it NewsBrowser and when i upload it in the First iview and try to see in other iview than it only shows the path of the file and not texactly the file..
Could u suggest where i would be doing mistake or send me steps to do the same

Emailing contents of XML form

Hi, I have designed an XML form (using XML Forms Builder ) which accepts input from the user and when the user clicks on the "Send" button, the data needs to be saved as well as sent to 3 email addresses. Currently, I have created 2 iviews namely "Admin Form" iView and "Display Form" iView. When I preview "Admin Form" iview, I see a link which says "New InputForm" (where, InputForm is the name of my form). When I click on the "New InputForm" link, I am able to enter data and then preview it. In the "Display Form" iview, I only display the data. Now is it sufficient to have just the "Admin Form" iview since, I just need to accept input from the user? Also, do I have to edit "RenderConfig.properties" file, since I already see only the "New InputForm" link in "Admin Form" iView? If so, can you please tell me how to go about with editing the "RenderConfig.properties" form and also under what name should I save it? Also can you please tell me in which file I can find my source code? I believe I need to call a component from the code which will email the input to the recepients. I have just started learning XML and hence all these questions. Can you please point me in the right direction? Thanks for all your valuable time and effort.

Hi Sri,
You need to develop a custom EventReceiver (there is an example of a simple eventreceiver somewhere on SDN...), which should be triggered when the user presses the send button. As far as I know, there is no way to find out which button has been pressed, the eventreceiver just listens to events such as "create" and "edit" (So it will work if you always want to email the xmlform).
The flow of the program will be something like:
-user gives input in xmlform, and saves
-eventreceiver gets the "create" event (here you should check if the resourcetype is the xmlform you created)
-eventreceiver gets the content of the xmlform input (most likely you will want the formatted input e.g. use ...Show.xsl), for this you can use the XMLFormsService.
-send the emails using the mail API

XML Form Builder Error using JRE Version 1.6.0_05

Hi Experts,
I am trying to create an XML Form using XML Form Builder. But I noticed that the root nodes under the data model area of the said tool is not clickable(even if it has + sign on it)thus hindering me to continue. I encounter this error using jre version 1.6.0_05.
Can someone help with this?

Have you tried double clicking?
If this doesn't solve the issue, you might want to try using a different version of the browser and disable the pop up blocker on your browser.
