Translate Date Picker

Hi,
Is there a way to translate the Entries in a Date Picker oder Calendar from english to other Languages for Example (German, French) ?
Many Thanks in Advance?
MDK.

Hello,
>> The only English word that stay is Close button
You can also translate the date Picker title and the OK and Close buttons, by using the APEX translation mechanism. Please read the following, and in table 16-3 you can find the relevant message strings.

  • Date Picker Translate Help

    Hi
    We've been using jQuery date pickers long before APEX used them as standard so have our own way of implementing them, that being said it shouldn't have any effect on what I'm trying to do.
    I have an application (APEX 4.2.1) that is used in a number of different languages. We don't use the APEX date picker and instead display dates as text fields, add a specific class to them and attributes as required. The class is picked up in javascript and the field is converted to a jQuery UI date picker with the attributes controlling certain behaviour (date restrictions etc.) This works fine and the date picker is translated to the different languages without a problem.
    Now I have a page in which fields defined by the user are displayed along side APEX fields. To do this I'm using apex_item and generating items on the page based on settings controlled by the user in another part of the application. The APEX items are displayed followed by custom items using apex_item. Again, this works fine and I've used it many times before.
    The problem I have is when a user creates a custom field which is a date picker and the date picker is translated.
    If the user is viewing the page in Norwegian then for an APEX field the date picker is shown in Norwegian and if they select May 1st then 1-Mai-2013 is returned to the field. The value of this field is 1-Mai-2013 when the page is submitted, but somehow the value is saved in the database correctly and when the database is queried the date is saved as 01-MAY-2013. For a custom field the value is saved in the database as 1-Mai-2013 and when this is then viewed by a user in English the page errors with not a valid month.
    My questions are:
    - How does APEX save a translated date field? How does 1-Mai-2013 become a proper date? If I try to save this in the database, unsurprisingly I get an invalid month error.
    - How can I use apex_item to have a date picker that is translated? apex_item.date_popup can't be used as this doesn't use the jQuery date picker. Perhaps this is a setting in jQuery UI to translate the date back? One solution is to use dd/mm/yyyy format, but I really don't want to do this.
    Many thanks for your help. If you need any more info let me know.
    Sara

    Hi Mike
    Thanks for the reply. When I said that it's saved as 01-MAY-2013, I was aware that it wasn't actually saved as this and is stored as a date. My point was that as a user I had entered the text 1-Mai-2013 on the screen and somehow it was changed to a date which when queried in the database was returned correctly as 01-MAY-2013. Showing that somehow it had been translated correctly from Norwegian. Even if I were to save my custom field value in a date column in the database, I would get an error as it would be trying to insert 1-Mai-2013 into a date column which isn't of the correct format. I think the problem can be resolved if I can convert the text in my custom field into a date.
    I've been able to find a possible solution, but I'm having problems implementing this.
    If I run
    select to_date('03-Okt-2013','DD-Mon-YYYY','nls_date_language=NORWEGIAN') from dual;
    this returns the correct date in the correct format (03-OCT-2013), which could be saved in my table and the problem would be resolved. I know what language is being used in my APEX session so I've used the following code to my procedure:
              CASE V('FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE')
              WHEN 'no' THEN v_value := to_date(v_value,'DD-Mon-YYYY','nls_date_language=NORWEGIAN');
              WHEN 'sv' THEN v_value := to_date(v_value,'DD-Mon-YYYY','nls_date_language=SWEDISH');
              WHEN 'pl' THEN v_value := to_date(v_value,'DD-Mon-YYYY','nls_date_language=POLISH');
              ELSE v_value := to_date(v_value,'DD-Mon-YYYY');
              END CASE;
    I've tested this through SQL*Plus and it works perfectly. The dates are always converted from Norwegian to English (the default for the database) DD-MON-YYYY.
    However, when I run the same code through APEX it doesn't work. The date is still stored as Norwegian. If I enter 10-Mai-2013 in the field that is exactly what is stored in the database. I've even added debug to make sure it's running the right bit of code and it is.
    Why would this code work in SQL but not through an APEX session? And is there anything I can do to resolve this?!
    Many thanks

  • Help with MIRO Badi's and Translation Date (Exchange Rate Date Reference)

    Dear experts
    This is a problem I have read a lot about, but none of the answers work properly and I wanted to create a new thread in order to try to compile a final answer for this problem (at least in version 6.0)
    As you know Standar SAP uses posting date as translation date in MIRO for foreign currency.
    This is not always true (imagine Crude Imports with 3 dates: Invoice date, posting date and Bill of Lading date. The last one happens to be the fiscal date for exchange rate in my county and the other two are also mandatory).
    I am proposing thus to use 3 dates: Document date as invoice date; posting date as posting date and Invoice Receipt Date
    (REINDAT - RBKP) as Bill of Lading date. I would like to implement this third date as translation date.
    Lot of ways to do it, but none works properly as for the end user it is complicated to enter data in a certain way so that BADI's work properly. I have implemented note 574583 and only works with some restrictions.
    I have also used some more BADI's like MRM_HEADER_CHECK, FI_TRANS_DATE_DERIVE, INVOICE_UPDATE,... and all of them have some restrictions (depending always in data header taps data introduction or saving the exchange rate properly in MM TABLES but not in FI TABLES).
    I would really appreciate if anyone could help with this, ensuring that the Badi get's always the data and makes it work with no screen selection dependance.
    Thanks in advance.

    Dear All,
    I have found the solution with the help of ABAPer. The system has a bug for which SAP has given a  Sap Note no 22781.
    Actually what happened in the Invoice is, the system by default fetched the exchange rate for the Exchange Rate Type 'M' for the rate last maintained. Since we were using different Exchange rate it did not match. Also we came to know about the difference only because off-late the users had stopped updating Exchange Rate 'M' .
    The funny part is in the Invoice if we click on each tab at the header and come back to the first tab where we find the Exchange rate for accounting, the system picks up the actually rate as per the Exchange Rate maintained.
    Regards,
    Karthik.

  • Date Picker (Application Format Mask) YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI

    I am experience what appears to be a bug with the Date Picker (Application Format Mask) that is causing the "DD" portion of the format mask to be interpreted as "CC" (when using a YYYY-MM-DD Application format).
    Within "Application Builder", "Edit Attributes" I have defined a "Static Substitution Strings" with the required Substitution String of PICK_DATE_FORMAT_MASK and a Substitution Value of "YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI" (without the quotes).
    When this is used within the application, and I select a date of "January 15, 2008 @ 23:14", the date picker gives me a date of "2008-01-20 23:14". If I were to change the Year to 1957, the date I get is "1957-01-19 23:14". Note that if the century is 20, no matter what day of the month I pick, I get DD=20. If the century is 19, the day of the month is always 19.
    I have also tested this with a format of YYYY-DDD HH24:MI. With this format too, the DDD gets set to the century portion of the year.
    DD-MM-YYYY HH24:MI format does work, however this is not the format that my end users want to see. They want to see the format as "YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI"
    If I change the PICK_DATE_FORMAT_MASK to "YY-MM-DD HH24:MI" and pick "Feb 8, 1977" I get "77-02-28" and if I pick "January 9, 1921" I get "21-01-31" which just happens to be the last day of the month in each of those case.
    So, something really weird is happen with the "Application Format Mask" Date Picker.
    Please note, that because of a known bug (relating to the translation of the Browser Language of "en-ca" to the propery NL_LANG of ENGLISH_CANADA) refer to
    HTMLDB - HOWTO Work with Dates
    I am executing the following code in my first "On Load - Before Header" and my first "On Submit - After Computations and Validations"
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'ALTER SESSION SET NLS_DATE_FORMAT=''YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI''' ;
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'ALTER SESSION SET NLS_SORT=''FRENCH''' ;
    Could you please investigate this problem.

    Paul,
    Thank you for the feedback and detailed reporting of this issue.
    This is a previously identified bug with the computation of the day component of the popup calendar.
    This correction will be available with the next HTML DB patch set and/or the release of HTML DB available later this year.
    Thanks again.

    Hi DK,
    It is a WD Java application, Backend is ABAP (MM module).
    The UI is input field, where the context attribute type is Date, So its been changed to Date Picker.
    The problem is when the user runs the WD application in Portal, The calendar format is being changed for some users. That is for few users the Week starts with Monday and for few users the week starts with Sunday.
    I need all the users to have Monday as the First day of the week.
    Please let me know, what will be solution for this.
    Since I haven't done anything in regard to date, it is a simple Date format.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Currency Translation date  change.

    Hi,
    we use multiple currencies .For a  sales organisation EUR currency, 2nd local currency isHUF, 3rd local is CZK. Translation happens on translation date. Invoices can be made  in VF01.
    These invoices use one important date, called billing date. This date is the key for few things, e.g. postings to FI happens on that, or baseline date calculation. Billing date is normally determine document date, document date determine translation date.
    All these will bring that translation from document currency to 2nd local will happen on billing date. Is it somehow possible to change the logic? Can It somehow be defined  which date should be used for translation? Can  different date be used for translation than billing date?

    Hi
    When you creating a order you can set a currency at Sales A. (double click on material).
    It maybe solve your problem.

  • Currency translation date fix on the first day of the month

    Dear all,
    is it possible to fixe one translation date per month that every transaction (goods income, purchase order, invoice, salesorder, payment,...) uses this exchange rate for booking?
    The problem is, that this fixed exchange rate should only be valid for one company code in our SAP System. Therefore it is not possible to just change the rates in the SAP table TCURR.
    Thank you very much in advance
    Greetings
    Bernd

    Hi Bernd,
    We have had the same case with CZ and we choose to use alternative exchange rate in OBBS, and then created a new exchange rate type -  but offcause then your company code should be equal to a specific currency.
    Example, when your settings in OBA7 for document type NI points at exchang rate type M, and you have assigned Alternative exchange rate type CZKK for Type M for exchange rates from CZK to XXX, then the document will be booked with the alternative exchange rate.
    Best regards

    Fred,
    Unfortunately, the answer is no to both of your questions.
    There is no way for you as a developer to control which date is highlighted in the popup calendar. It will always highlight the current day (if you're displaying a month that contains the current day). This is an interesting and prudent suggestion, and one which we'll consider for an upcoming release of HTML DB.
    With regards to your second point, that also is something we should consider for an upcoming release of HTML DB. This isn't impossible for us to do, it was just designed to work in the current fashion. If you look at the generated HTML for the Date Picker item on the page (not the popup calendar itself, but the page on which the item is rendered), we break out each element of the date value into discrete components. When we instead rely upon the user entered value, garbage or date values not conforming to the date format mask are easily entered. And the question is - what to do then? Raise an error immediately, still popup the calendar and show the current month, etc. So we've tried to be fairly strict about the date values and format masks for the popup calendar, hence the implementation you see.
    Thanks again for your comments.

  • Two questions: Event on a Date Picker and Read Only on a full page?

    Hello,
    I make use of this very informative board to develop an application but i have been unable to find info on these two topics. Sorry if it has been already discussed extensively.
    Using HTMLDB 2.2 for now.
    =>First question:
    I have a date picker item with an event
    onChange="resaStatusChange();"
    in the HTML Form Element Attribute field.
    The event is triggerring if i put a new data in the field but does not trigger if i use the picker.
    Is it a standart behaviour? Is there a way to trigger the event when new data is provided through the date picker?
    => Second question:
    One page in my application has to be used either to only display information or as a mixed displaying/entering data sheet.
    When the context is appropriate to use the page as a simple display (testing both global authorization and data to be displayed), is there a way to put a read only attribute on the full page instead of putting the read only conditions through each and every item of the page?
    Sorry if the questions are not clear and apologize for what should be newbie questions.
    Any link or info will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Daniel Gureghian

    Hi Daniel,
    I'm not sure about your first question, but I can hopefully give you a helpfull answer for your second one.
    I'm handling it this way:
    var elInput = document.getElementsByTagName('input');
    var elTextArea = document.getElementsByTagName('textarea');
    var elSelect = document.getElementsByTagName('select');
    for (i = 0; i < elInput.length; i++)
      setReadOnly(elInput, true);
    for (i = 0; i < elTextArea.length; i++)
    setReadOnly(elTextArea[i], true);
    for (i = 0; i < elSelect.length; i++)
    setReadOnly(elSelect[i], true);
    function setReadOnly(pThis, pRead)
         if (pThis && pRead)
              pThis.disabled = pRead;
              pThis.style.emptyCells = "show";
              pThis.style.color = "black";
              pThis.style.backgroundColor = "#DDDDDD";
         else if (pThis && !pRead)
              pThis.disabled = pRead;
              pThis.style.emptyCells = "show";
              pThis.style.color = "black";
              pThis.style.backgroundColor = "#FFFFFF";
    I never used it on a whole page, only for regions. So maybe you have to make some changes.

  • Date Picker error

    Hi,
    We have an application that cannot use the date picker, after a date is selected, the error we get is:
    A runtime error has occurred

    After a lot of searching around, the developer has narrowed it down to something on the template for some reason, but we are not sure what. If we remove the template, it works fine - but in this case the business wants the standard look and feel - so we are stuck with having to use it.
    Below is the header, body and footer sections of the offending template - anyone have any idea of what could cause the problem with the date picker?

  • Date Picker not allowing to capture time

    Hello Friends,
    I am trying to create a tabular form on a table[create SQL as below].
    CREATE TABLE  "JOB_RUN_DETAILS"
       (     "JOB_NAME" VARCHAR2(100),
         "SCH_RUN_DATE" DATE,
         "START_DATE" DATE,
         "END_DATE" DATE,
         "STATUS" VARCHAR2(100),
         "ID" NUMBER NOT NULL ENABLE
    /My idea of the tabular form is to allow entry of time both hours and minutes from the date picker along with date for <b>"START_DATE", "END_DATE" </b> items.
    But I dont see a possibility to do that for hours and minutes. But I remember having seen this in Apex 3.2, not sure if I missed some thing while page making or this feature of Date Picker is left intentionally in the new release.
    Please share any ideas you have.
    Thanks,
    Chaitu.

    My understanding is you are trying to create a Tabular form using the Table which you specified, you are expecting time part to be displayed in the Date Picker column ?.
    The Time part of hours and Minutes will be displayed based on the format mask used for the Application or the item. if the format mask is DD-MM-YYYY HH24:MI then you will see the hour and minute part with the Date Picker.

    how can I get a date picker or wheel to show up in the form to make filling in a form with a lot of dates more easy?

    There is no built-in date picker available for forms created in Acrobat. There are some third-party solutions involving JavaScript (either a large collection of fields or a custom dialog) though. Also, text fields with date formatting will use a wheel type date picker on Android/iOS devices with Adobe Reader.
