Translated content in Portal Favourites iView

Hi All,
I have Portal roles in two languages English and German. I set the browser language to check the translations. Initially the browser language is English.  When we add the role to Portal Favourites and then change the browser language to German, the text in the Roles is changed but the text in the Portal Favourites iview still remains in English. Can anyone tell me how to translate the content of Portal Favourites iview?
Thanks,
Priya

Hi,
You can upload an Image or an HTML file in the KM Repository and then create an iview pointing to that file. Assign that to a role and and make the entry point YES.
Assign that role to user.
Whenever that user logs in the image will be displayed.
Hope this helps!

  • Portal Favourites

    Hi All,
    We have some special requirement.
When ever user add the portal url / BW reports / SRM reports to portal favoutires all are placed in Portal Favourites working as per functionality.
    New Requirement:
    1. If user add the BW report to portal favourites (My Reports) it should display in "My Reports" and when user add SRM reports to Portal favoutires it should display in "SRM Reports" .
Some kind of individual portal favoutires to individual reports.
Could you please advise me .
    Appreciate on your support.
    Thanks,
    Praveen.

You don't need any java coding to create an entry point
You just have to go to system administration --> System configuration --> Knowledge management -->content management -->repository managers --> (related areas) Entry point providers -->entry points for static folders
You can there add the paths to the folders you want to see as entry points, the priority affects the order in which the folders are displayed
Before you can make entry points, you first have to create the folders at a random place (for example /documents)
You can change the pictures of the entry points by uploading images in the folder /etc/public/mimes/images/entrypoints and giving them the same name as your entry point with extension img (for example documents.img)
Afterwards, you can adapt the portal favourites iview to your needs by adding the entry points iview

  • Change the name from Portal Favorites to Portal Favourites

    Hi,
There is a requirement that where ever in Portal, the name of Portal Favorites should be changed to Portal Favourites.
So when I add something to Portal Favorites in Portal, then there we get Organize Entries in the context menu and opening this it will open a pop-up having name as Favorites.
I searched and come to know that this is coming from a folder under KM Content /userhome/<portal-userid>/Favorites.
If I changes the name Favorites to Favourites then it reflects to that corresponding id, but changing from here for every portal-userid will be very difficult.
Can someone tell how we can change on global basis for every portal user.
    Regards,
    Deep Nain Kundra

    Hi there,
The iView called "Favorites" in Content Provided by SAP > End User Content > Standard Portal Users > iViews > com.sap.km.iviews points to a KM folder which you can find in Content Administration > KM Content > root > Entry Points > Favorites. You can change the name of this folder: with Entry Points > Favorites selected choose Folder > Details and then Settings > Properties, set the name to whatever you like and click Save.
Now this isn't 100% effective but if a user accesses the Organize Entries command from the Favorites context menu, they will now see your custom folder name. A preview of the iView will show the same.
What this doesn't do is change the name of the Entry Point, so a user looking under Documents will still see the heading "Favorites". According to SAP Help this can be changed by creating a custom bundle file, but despite following the steps detailed in [Changing Labels and Symbols for Entry Points|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/36/8b6b4066d9bf49e10000000a1550b0/content.htm] I have not had success with this.

  • Hide 'Portal Favorites' iView

    Hi Guys,
I know to hide the Portal Favourites iView on everypage, you can:
Content Admin > Portal Conten » Portal Users » Standard Portal Users » FrameworkPage (Edit Object) » InnerPage (Edit) » Portal Favorites (uncheck the visible checkbox)
It did works, the favourites iView is gone. However, the funny thing is after a stopsap JC00 and startsap JC00, the favourite iview reappears. I rechecked the Portal Favourites checkbox and went back to checked!! (seems that after a reboot the settings is gone). Anyone have any resolutions?
    OS: AIX 5.3
    EP: NW7 SPS14 (SR3)
    DB: Oracle 10g

    Roger,
I guess you might be having a folder of your own where you put all the iviews roles or worksets that you are creating, create a copy of the Default framework in this folder.
But, once you have done that you will have to alter your MASTER RULE and point the framework page to the one you have created.
[Editing the master rule for new framework and Desktop|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/6483a890-0201-0010-48a6-b6e595111efe]

  • Global/Role wise Portal Favourites

    Hi,
Is it possible to set up the Portal favourites in such a way that the administrator can set some favourites which should appear in the Portal Favourites iview of all the users?
Also is it possible to configure it in such a way that only users assigned to a particular role gets to see particular global favourites in their portal favourites?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Ranjith

    Hi Vineeth,
Thanks a lot for the idea.
But if I implement it, the end users will not be able to add any personal favorites. I am looking for something which provides both these (global and personal favourites) functionalities. I guess I will have custom develop some component to achieve this.
    Thanks again

  • Javascript error in Content Admin- Portal Content- iview Navigation window

    Hi friends,
We are in the process of portal migration and as a part of this, we installed NW04 SPS 14 using Rapid Installer and then upgraded it to SPS 18. The components we upgraded are:
    Java component
    Portal Platform
    Knowledge Management and Collaboration
    Adobe Document Services
    BI UDI
    BI MMR
After upgradation, when we logged in to portal, we were not able to see/browse Portal pages/Roles/Iviews/Worksets (PCD Contents) under Content Administration->Portal Content.
Again, whichever window is there for navigation of PCD, we are not able to see the contents of PCD.For e.g. System Administration -> System Configuration.
Does anyone know how to solve this issue?
