Translation language defaults ALWAYS wrong - outlook2010

In our office, we recieve emails in many different languages. It would be SOOOO helpful if we can set the TO language to English. Outlook has NEVER guessed the correct combination of languages.
Personally, i receive emails in Spanish and German and EVERY time i choose translate (right click on word/paragrapth/etc) my Research bar says FROM English TO Chinese.
Its worse than not having a translation feature. And more clicks/effort than using Google Translate or BabelFish.
Can some one please give me good news about Upgrades / Service Packs / even registry hacks...
Thanks.
If I am all here, does that mean I am not all there?

Thanks Dezzz. Your ideas are worthy of a growing and successful IT company.
Microsoft, note the word growing!!!
So its Jan 2013. Everyones back to work. And the stress levels are rising fast, people are getting pissed off. The christmas cheer has gone and anger and hatred are flowing from every cubicle. Thank you Microsoft. You are turning a pleasent office into hell.
And why? Because you refuse to address the bugs and failures in your expensive software.
This BUG of not being able to translate text TO your own language is a failure of epic proportions.
CAN YOU HEAR ME ?????????
I dont want to know HOW its done, or WHY, or any other irrelevent and useless information. I dont want to hear Whats Your Version Number (in a whiny voice) or any other delaying tactic. I just want it fixed.
FIX IT ALREADY !!!!!
I am now a strong supporter of open source software. While i have never been a fan-boy of Mac or Linux intensity, I did voice a reasonable argument as to why we used MS products.
But you've dropped the ball too many times MS, so i'm dropping you as soon as I can.
If I am all here, does that mean I am not all there?

    That was a long time ago. I don't even remember asking the question. I don't have that trouble at the moment.

    Hello,
    I would like to execute the task currency translation in DEFAULT.LGF
    Nb : we used the DEFAULT.LGF when we import the actual and budget data with Excel file (.csv)
    I created the DEFAULT.LGF and inserted the following rows:
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET CATEGORY=%CATEGORY_SET%
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET RPTCURRENCY=LC
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET TIME=%TIME_SET%
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET DATASRC=INPUT
    * INCLUDE FXTRANS.LGF
    But, not currency translation when we import the actual and budget data
    Nb : When I execute FXTRANS.LGF (FX_STATEMENT), it's OK , the system created the new records for translation currency

  • Language default

    Since I live in Australia, I'd like to set the language default to Australian English. As it is, every time I open a document in Pages, it defaults to ENGLISH. It's a bit tedious, changing all the time. Is there any way to set a default?

    Rob
    The Australian English is a furphy. It is just British English. But then Apple's "English" is not British English it is American.
    The default language is set in:
    +Menu > System Preferences… > Language & Text > Language > Drag Australian English to the top of the list+
    That should be enough to make the dictionary default to A.E.
    If it doesn't then it may be due to the styles set in the template (not Apple's):
    +Menu > View > Show Styles Drawer+
    The default text in most templates is either "Body" or "Free Form". You can change either of these to be whatever language you want by selecting a sample, changing its language in the Text Inspector then updating the style by clicking on the red triangle to the right of the style name and selecting +Redefine Style from Selection+
    Of course you will have to save this as a new template and use that from now on.

  • Translation language 'FR' entires all got removed from table: RSZELTTXT

    Hi All,
    We are doing global BI implementation.
    We need the reports run in English and French.
    We have spent a great amount of time and made the needed entries for translation in French language, in the table: RSZELTXT, for all the english entries corresponding to all BW query elements.
    Today suddenly, we have found that all the entries related to 'FR' language got completely removed.
    All the BW team members are pretty sure that no body touched this table.
    How could this happen?
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks & Best Regards,
    - Shashi

    Hi All,
    I have mistyped the table name in the body of the thread;
    Here is the correct one;
    Translation language 'FR' entires all got removed from table: RSZELTTXT

    Xperia Z1, latest Firefox (from play market). ANY site (even gmail) doesn't accept password for log-in (always wrong) on portrait keypad mode. When i switch to landscape mode everything is ok.
    At this time Google Chrome doesn't have any problems, password is accepted in portrait mode of keyboard.

    Even FF doesn't log in to that site in portrait mode, except Chrome browser.

  • Google translator languages in the dropdown is not showing for Vista Only. All other browser works.

    Google translate language options are empty in Firefox only in windows vista. Windows 7 works fine though. All other browsers in Vista works also fine. Only problem in Firefox in Vista.

    Thank you for you reply but unfortunately this did not solve the problem.
    I have installed a fresh new windows vista installation and firefox latest version without any plugin installation. Still not working as before.

  • Xorg defaults to wrong resolution[SOLVED]

    Hey All,
    I just reinstalled Arch after a 6 month hiatus, and I'm having a bit of trouble with my Xorg.conf.
    I have a 1440x900 resolution laptop, but X starts at 1024x768. I have a Nvidia Geforce go 6150. I'm using the Nvidia driver. Here are the pertinent parts of xorg.conf:
    I feel like I don't need 90% of this crap. I added the first ModeLine entry myself, the rest were autogenerated. I don't really know what those strings of numbers are, I just stole them from another post.

  • Links default to wrong folder

    Why is it when I go to relink a placed image in the Links pallette it always directs me to the wrong folder (not the one the image lives in but elsewhere). I believe that it is taken me to the last folder I navigated to. thoughts?

    You now have a prefernce for where relink goes, the last folder you used to link, or the folder where the original link resides. It's in the prefs.

  • Paragraph styles all default to wrong character style

    So I set up a template and based all my character styles on my basic body copy. However, every new text box I create it defaults to the "character styles" to my section header color and sizing. I have to right click and "clear character styles" every single time. I've never had this happen before and cannot figure out how to fix it, it is such a PAIN!

    From your explanation, I suspect your use of Character Styles might need to be redirected to Paragraph Styles. But that is conjecture, so I apologize if I'm wrong. In any case, to solve your problem; with nothing selected, choose No Character Style in the Character Styles panel. That sets the default for new frames.

  • Default to wrong address

    The Mail system has memorized email addresses that are out of date or that I don't want to use. When I type in a name or group list, it defaults to the wrong address.
    In one case I have a group name in my address book that I cannot get it to default to and it consistently goes to one with similar words, but not even in the same order that is set up on another company's lists. This is even though I have not used that address in a year and I use the group from my address book a few times a week. In other instances those I've corresponded with have changed their email addresses, but the system keeps choosing the old one.
    How can I delete email addresses I don't want to ever use from "Mail's Memory"?

    Hello Margaret.
    The Mail.app stores all message recipients in the List of Previous Recipients in Mail.
    The Mail.app autofill feature pulls from the Address Book and the list of Previous Recipients in Mail.
    At the Mail.app menu bar, go to Window and select Previous Recipients.
    A previous recipient already entered in the Address Book will have a vCard icon to the left of the name or email address. You can remove a previous recipient from the list or add a previous recipient to the Address Book that is not already entered.
    Removing a previous recipient from the list has no effect on Address Book entries.

  • Mail defaulting to wrong account when replying

    I have my wife and my accounts both in Mail. Sometimes, when I do a reply, it defaults as coming from my wife's account instead of mine (even though the message was to me), which is super annoying.
    The details are this:
    - message comes addressed to both my wife and I (and several other people);
    - message is manually moved from my account folder to a folder I made for that topic;
    - maybe a few weeks later, I select that message and click "reply all";
    - I type up my reply and hit "send", expecting the Mail program to default to either:
       a) the account the message was originally sent to;
       b) the first account in the accounts list under Preferences;
       Either one would be my account, not my wife's.
    The problem is people reply (not "reply all") to my message and it goes to my wife's account, not mine, and I don't see it.
    How do I get Mail to default to use my account as the sender?
    Thanks!

    These are possible causes for an e-mail to end up in the wrong place:
    -additional shortnames in WGM
    -forward set in WGM
    -a .forward file in the user's mail directory
    -an alias in /etc/postfix/aliases
    -an alias in /etc/postfix/virtual
    -a sieve script
    -a bcc
    -a catchall account
    -an autoforward by the original recipient
    Hope I didn't miss any.
    You should check all these possibilities. If you still need help, post relevant log entries and the unmodified output of postconf -n

  • All future MacBook with 10.7 Lion will be set to 64bit kernel by default always ?

    Dear Apple and Mac Expert,
    Actually I hope Apple can answer this if possible or someone can redirect me to any Apple post ?
    I learned that right from 10.7 Lion available, the default kernel mode is always set to 64bit no matter installed in MacBook White or Pro. I am wondering is it same for all future MacBook Air and Pro that come with 10.7 Lion will be set to 64bit kernel by default??
    I really need a confirmation on this to support my future plan.
    Appreciate Apple can answer this or someone can help.
    Thanks in advanced!

    Apple typically does not answer questions here. Further, your question invites speculation about future product releases, which is specifically forbidden in the Terms of Use for these forums.
    That having been said, Apple usually looks forward, not back. Once they remove something it is usually gone forever. Witness the floppy drive disappearing in the late 1990s.
    Best of luck.

  • .bin extension defaults to wrong action and is not listed in options applications tab. I can't change the action.

    I recently installed VLC player and it has overtaken my system.
    When I click on .bin (ext) files in a Firefox browser window, the default action is now listed as "VLC.bin (default)" and nothing I do can change it. I want the default action to be to download the file and I would like to remove any option related to VLC, since no .bin file should ever be associated with that program.
    There is no listing for a .bin extension for VLC (or any other program, for that matter*) in the Options/Applications tab, nor is VLC player the default action for anything listed except .wav files.
    I have tried the following:
    1. searched the options/applications tab but found nothing.
    2. searched "about:config" for any entries with "bin", ".bin", or "vlc" (one at a time) and found nothing.
    3. searched the registry for bin extension entries. I found one:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.bin\OpenWithProgids]
    "bin_auto_file"=hex(0):
    "VLC.bin"=hex(0):
    I deleted the key and rebooted. No change.
    4. Double checked [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\.. Gabest and Mozilla keys for anything that could be causing this behavior.
    Found nothing.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    *As far as I can tell. However, the applications tab cuts off many of the extension names and the column cannot be extended, so I can't be certain. VLC added 34 extensions to the list (!), most of which default to using the Quicktime plugin 7.6.8.

    Thanks jscher2000, I tried your suggestion, but no joy (as expected). None of the extensions were .bin, and in fact, I can't find a single listing for handling the .bin extension in the entire (unfiltered) list.
    That's why I'm so confused. Where is Firefox getting the name "VLC.bin (default)" from in the first place?
    cor-el, I checked out the link that you posted.
    I don't have an entry for "browser.download.pluginOverrideTypes" and the entry "plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types" was empty (default setting).
    My bad, but I forgot to mention in my first post that I had also tried renaming the mimetypes.rdf file in my "Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxx.default\" to .old to no avail.
    Firefox created a new, almost empty file, but it didn't change the behavior for .bin files. I removed the new file and put the old file back in place after determining that clearing the file did not help, since I am otherwise happy with my current file-type options.
    However, since the option to "Always perform this action" is grayed-out, I am looking into the possibility that the website is sending a misconfigured MIME type or is assigning "Content-Disposition: attachment" to the download. What's odd, though, is that I've never had problems getting binary files from the site in the past, and the problem started when the VLC player was installed.
    I'll post back after I check into the server header data.
