Translators
Hello!
I am running Appleworks 6.2.9 on Leopard 10.5.7. I downloaded a business template pack off the AWUG site, and I want to save an invoice template as a Word document to open on a PC.
Isn't there a way to "Save As" a Word .doc format? I only have Appleworks formats in the Save As drop down box. I also own Maclinkplus deluxe 16 if that matters. I read somewhere that you need translators. I did a standard install of 6 and updated to 6.2.9 (I used an OS X install package)
Also, can I import or put those templates I downloaded somewhere so they show up when I open Appleworks 6 (like add them to the templates tab) ?
Thanks so much for your help.

Here is a link to a useful page for AW users. You can download a user Guide for AW 6.

The only user guide available for download is the japanese one.
In English we may get only:
*Getting Started with AppleWorks 6*
Includes basics for new users and project examples and ideas for all users
*Installing AppleWorks 6*
*Quick Reference for Mac OS*
By default, AppleWorks 6 offers a set of translators. Here you may see those available for WP.

'Translators' not loading 'due to errors'
I keep getting this warning box appearing - 4-5 times when I
open a file in my site using DW CS3:
The following translator were not loaded due to errors:
ASP.htm: has configuration information that is invalid.
PHP_MySQL.htm: has configuration information that is invalid.
Server Model SSl.htm: has configuration information that is

Anyone know what's going wrong? How can I fix it? Can I turn
something off?
It works fine in DW8.

I18n tools for translators?
I am currently working on a multilingual applet and as I add strings to the program, it gets harder and harder to manage the multiple languages. Also, our translators are not necessarily technical people. Does anyone here know of a tool I could give to our translators, so they could edit the bundles in a user-friendly GUI program? Thank you for your help!
ICU has a resource bundle manager that you might be able to use:
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/globalization/icu/rbmanager.jsp
Note that it does not include a tie-in to a translation memory system (at least as far as I can tell from a cursory glance).
PASSOLO does have that: http://www.passolo.com/en/features.htm
The translator version seems to be free if you invest in the team version, but you would have to pay for that.
I should add that I haven't actually used PASSOLO myself. -
Can't save Appleworks docs using v6.2.8/9 Dataviz translators.
I need to convert a number of my Appleworks files to MS Office format to give to my PC/Windows friends, so I've just upgraded Appleworks from v6.0 to v6.2.8 to make use of the Dataviz/MacLink translators. But when I open an existing Appleworks word processing document (or create a new one) and try to 'Save As...' to MS Word, I can't see the MS translators I'm expecting in the 'Format' listbox, only the usual AW formats - AW6,AW5,CW4,CW/Kids,HTML,RTF & Text.
I've tried the following :
1) Made sure the AW6 application is in the same folder as its required companions (AW Essentials etc.)
2) Trashed the AW Preferences folder from the HD & re-started
3) Trashed an old 'Previous System Folder' I had on the HD.
But still no luck.
Irritatingly, I can see all the Dataviz Word & Excel translators I need in this folder :
HD > Applications > Appleworks Essentials > Translators > Dataviz_Carbon > Translators (24 files in all)
But I just can't persuade Appleworks to let me use them.
Am I missing something else ?Hello
Strange. I use AW6.2.3 under OS9.1 and do have the translators. Don't know why.
Just a thought.
Try AW6.2.3/6.2.4 updater first, and see the result.
Possibly, by any chance, AW628/629 updater does not provide these resources?
In my environment, OS9.1 + AW6.2.3, AW6's translators are installed as follows -

Anyone have a source for a good, inexpensive language translator on SD card for Tungsten T5?
I had one a few years ago (from Staples, I think), but can't find any now.
Post relates to: Tungsten T5Do a google search for language translators for Palm OS. There are many different sites that offer the software. I did not see one specifically on an SD card but you can use quick install and install the program to the SD card.
Look in the user guide for instructions on how to sync programs to the SD card.
For reference purposes, click on the following link for the support page for your device on the kb.palm.com webpage.

JavaScript and Translators Error Messages in Contribute 3
I installed Contribute 3 on a Windows XP PC last week. It
worked fine for a few days and then started giving the following
errors:
When user opens Contribute: "The following translators were
not loaded due to errors: EditTextOnly.htm has configuration
information that is invalid" The user can click OK, but the message
keeps popping up as they edit their page.
When user publishes a page: "While executing onLoad in
_afterSave.htm the following JavaScript error occurred in file
_afterSave Reference Error: afterSave is not defined"
I've uninstalled and reinstalled Contribute a few times, but
haven't had any luck. Contribute 3 is installed on several other
PCs and this is the first time we've had this kind of problem. What
are your suggestions?
Thanks,
KathyOther users could open the same web pages in Contribute and
edit/publish them without any problem. Which tells me that the
errors were caused by this particular installation of Contribute 3
and not by some problematic javascript on the page. The only
"solution" I could come up with was to install Contribute 4. Once I
did that, the errors went away. It still puzzles me though,
especially since Contribute 3 worked fine for a few days before
these errors showed up.

Translators not loaded Error message
I have run into the following error message in Dreamweaver 8.
" The following translators were not loaded due to errors-asp.htm:
has configuration information that is invalid. I also received this
error for CFM.htm. Checking the web this appears to be a common
error. Some have corrected it by coping and pasting a new version
of the .htm document into the translators folders. Worked for me on
CFM.htm but still get the error for ASP.htm. Have gone back to 2004
for the error pops up (3 times) anytime you open a page.Try #`4 on this page:
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19105.html#dat
if that does not help, try #12.

Hi,
Recently my computer had problems, I had to install Windows7 instead of Windows Vista. I made a clean installation of Dreamvers CS4. I was able to Export all the sites from my old computer. But whenever I try to open any file for editing I have this pop-up error message:
The following translators were not loaded due to errors: ASP.htm has information duplicated by another translator.
Same error for ASP.Net.htm, ColdFusion.htm, Date.htm, FlashObject.htm, ICERegions.htm, JSP.htm, PHP_MySQL.htm, Server Model SSH.htm, Spry.htm, SpryWidget.htm, XSLT.htm and XSLTransform.htm
I saw several threads with similar error message, where the translators were invalid, while mine are duplicated by another translator. But I tried the fixes anyway.
I tried removing Configure folder, and WinFileCache folder. Didn't help. I also tried to create a new site and get all the files from the remote. Same problem.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
ValentinaSorry for the bump, but this post helped me solve a simmiliar issue: "The following translators were not loaded due to errors: ColdFusion.htm: has configuration information that is invalid" everytime I try open any document in dreamweaver. As I don't program in cold fusion, I renamed the file to ColdFusion.bck and everything works for me again. I'm not sure what caused the issue, but thanks for pointing out where I can find translator files.

Error: translators were not loaded due to errors
Whenever I use Dreamweaver CS3, I keep getting the following
error message pop up:
"The following translators were not loaded due to errors:

I tried renaming the configuration folder inside C:\Program

work, so I changed it back to the original name. I have NOT used
any of the spry framework for form validation.
