can someone tell me where to find in cs5.5. EXACTLY the same function. see pic, taken from old premiere 6.0
goal is to have 2 video clips next to each other with a specific viewable size AND they have motion, both move from left to right but of course they should NOT overlap, should stay within the specific viewable size

yes, i want to split screen. there are 2 stills (still image) and both are moving (one from left to right, the other one from right to left) they do not overlap. i don't want to crop any of those pics.
sorry, i can't find that function. please show me (or explain) step by step how to achive that.

Is the Automate/Web Photo Gallery function gone from CS5?

I am currently operating a trial download of Photoshop CS5. I was surprised to see the "File > Automate > Web Photo Gallery" function missing from Photoshop CS5. Is that true, or has it been moved to another location?

At our studio we use the Web Gallery with Feedback option for our clients to review images, make selections and comments.
I hope we don't lose access to this with an upgrade to CS5.
It seems to me that having that capability within Photoshop makes sense, but if it is being ported to Bridge I hope, at least, that it will be well supported (which it wasn't while in PS).
As a tool to support a user's web design, Flash has several drawbacks not the least of which is that it is opaque to search engine indexing bots.
One thing I would hope Adobe could fix in the Gallery with Feedback option is a problem in which if a client of ours is using the gallery to give feedback, even though they click "Save Feedback" on every image, if they close the gallery window, all comments and selections are lost. We had a client who was reviewing 400 images. She had gotten through close to 300 of them, saving feedback all along, when she decided to come back to the project a little later. Closing the browser window lost all of her comments and selections. Tools like this are important to our business relations with our clients and I would hope they would be integrated into Adobe's imaging products, but they shouldn't be an afterthought – they need to be well designed, user customizable, and up to date with web standards.

thank you very much. It solved the issue.
Earlier the vb6 dll was registered using an a/c id different than the one to login to Crystal Enterprise server from .Net code.
Now copied the dll to 'c:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\3.5\bin\ on the server and ran,
*regsvr32 c:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\3.5\bin\crufltest.dll and it woorked.*

Yes. Thanks. I misled myself based on another post. Successfully did this by selecting "File," "Save a copy ..." then choosing "for CS4 or later (IDML)"
It required some patience and several tries, but I think that was due to hardware (memory) being overloaded by CC Cloud version or something. It was a 50 MB, 500-page file and took 17 minutes to convert/save,
Re-capping: from CCloud to CS5, don't use "Export" (to IDML); use "Save as" or "Save a copy" and select "for CS4 or later (IDML)".
Advice much appreciated.

Functionality missing in Dreamweaver CS5 that was in older versions

Is it me or is CS5 less user friendly than earlier versions? I've done most of my work with Dreamweaver 4... a little bit with Dreamweaver 8 and only jumped to CS5 because I saved up enough and thought I could advance my abilities with the advanced software....
Anyway - I've added background images to tables in earlier versions and cannot find how to change them or add new ones to new tables. I've searched the web and found many sites that claim to have the answer but after reading them they all seem to be way off base. Once again, I used a work around. I copied the code from one file to another and then changed the image file... HTML is not my strong suit... that's why I started usning Dreamweaver... the WYSIWYG functions made it easy. There used to be an area to add the image in the properties area... gone in CS5
Also gone is the Table height box.... ??
How about table border and background colours? They are gone as well
There are other things missing but the ones above are ones I used quite a bit.
I am attempting to get up to speed with CSS and hope that it will solve some of my issues with the missing stuff.

I'm still not pleased that I spent a lot of money only to find out I have to enhance my skills to use the newer software. I am finding the same type of issues with Fireworks... Most of the graphics I created with the older version get changed because a change in the way Fonts are used... and, one of my favorites... Bevel Boss is missing...
Well regardless of spending money for newer software, the web and its standards are ever changing. You could have of course, downloaded and installed a free yet very powerful text editor such as jEdit or Notepad++ and continue to design sites as you have been. I think the point of Adobe not making certain tools and buttons freely available IS an example of how the web is evolving. Why would adobe keep supporting obsolete practices?
I know the guy I work for LOVED using the font tag. I really had to dig around in DW to even find a mention of the font tag. They no longer have a tool or button to insert or wrap text in a font tag because its deprecated as well.

For Order Replication from ECC system to CRM system your Configurations for both the system must be Coinciding.
Hope your Partner Function Determination in ECC and CRM are also maintained the Same way,else check for the Determination of Sub-Partner Function determination (Ship to Party,Bill to Party..) in ECC and CRM the way its maintained.
The Main Problem arising in your Order is after replication from ECC System your Sub-Partner Functions aren't getting Determined,
Check for the Partner Determination Procedure in CRM for the Sub-Partners and try to Determine them from your Main Partner Function e.g. Sold to Party.

Transparency is missing from .ai files

I (InDesign) have recently lost the ability to be able to see through where the transparent aspects of an .ai file are through to other layers and objects in ID CS5. I've created many files and used existing files where I know that there are transparent areas (and even tested them on other computers) and on mine, I cannot see through where there are transparent areas, but they show up fine on other computers (can see through).
I've looked through all my preferences and other panels and haven't been able to figure out what is going on. The transparency works fine when I save the .ai file as an .eps (Illustrator).

^Right. And, I can't be sure about earlier versions, but in CS6, I've noticed that the setting is now "sticky." At some point I deselected Transparent Background, and then when I placed without Show Options, selected, I got non-transparent results. It will stay on whatever you set last until you set it otherwise.

Android Contacts (aka People) function missing in A2107

Hi All-
Can you please help me understand if it is just me? Just purchased an A2107A-F for my daughter and was setting up Tango for video calls. At this point, I realized there are no contacts in the preloaded android version. When going through the apps list in settings, it has the contacts sync function and the contacts storage function but the app itself is missing.
I did a factory reset and an OTA upgrade - still no contacts. I called support and they were clueless about android in general.
This is my third Android device and I went through the ICS phase on both of the others and Contacts was a key portion of the Android OS for my other two devices. I mean, are we supposed to remember and retype peoples emails for every email message?
I am hoping that someone tells me I am missing it so I do not have to return this device.

The problem you all are experiencing is very normal for tablets especially this one since it doesn't have a dialer built in. The People or Contacts part of android is very very dependant on the dialer app. They both need each other to work, This is probly not built into the systemui.apk or framework as well. But I know for a fact that it will auto fill as you start typing in a contact in the To: field in your gmail app. I tried it before I posted. My suggestion would be to add a common name for your contacts so that you can just type that in instead of the emails. It will work. Also you may be able to install the Google Voice app it will store your contacts there as well, granted the management part is yet to be desired

Error: DAQ-STC Counter functions missing from library

Using LabView 6.1, NI-DAQ 6.6.1 for MacOS on a laptop.
DAQ Hardware: DAQCard 16E-4.
When trying to use the advanced counter functions (for DAQ-STC type counters), LabVIEW generates an error saying that it can't find the function in the library. The code interface nodes for the VIs don't seem to be attached to anything. I've installed the latest version of DAQ Drivers for Mac; am I missing something here? Any insight into this problem would be appreciated.

I think it could be just an installation issue. I assume that you are using Mac 9.1. I've run LV 6.1 with NIDAQ 6.6.1 on Mac 9.1 and it works just fine, including DAQ-STC counter functions.
If LabVIEW 6.1 was installed without DAQ support, run the LabVIEW 6.1 installer and perform a custom installation for DAQ support. Then, run
the NI-DAQ 6.6.1 installer to upgrade NI-DAQ.

Quick question regarding "put" function on Dreamweaver CS5:

I hope you'll bear with me. I've inherited a website that uses CS5, and was given instructions...ambiguous at best...about updating the site. In the past, I'm told (using CS3) the process was simply to update a template, save the template on our server, and "put" the page onto our site. I've done the same, and in "previewing" the website, my updates appear correct.
The only problem is the "put" function, or more specifically the lack thereof. Under "site," there is a "put" function, but it is greyed out (and Ctrl + Shift + U is likewise fruitless). Might anyone have a suggestion or two for how to get around this? I'd be hugely appreciative.

In order to upload files to remote server, the site needs to be properly defined in DW CS5.
In CS3, go to Site > Manage Sites and Export the site definition settings .ste file to a safe place on your hard drive. Close CS3.
Open CS5, go to Site > Manage Sites > Import.

Some audio missing in CS5

Hi everyone,
I recenrtly upgraded from CS4, and am now using a full, paid version of CS5. (Windows 7 x64).
Using Premiere CS5, I opened a CS4 project file, and everything seemed to update smoothly. However, I quickly discovered that some of my audio was missing. The missing audio comes from an mpeg file. Mind you, the video comes through fine, but the audio is gone, not only in the timeline, but even if I open the file in the source monitor. In fact, according to Premiere, there are no waveforms associated with the clip. However, if I directly open the file in Windows Media Player, the audio plays back fine.
Now it gets wierder.
Other audio is working fine. I have a handful of short mpeg clips, in which both audio and video come through just fine.
However, my primary mpeg clip, which is quite long, is not coming through with audio.
Any tips on this one?

I had a similar problem with CS3 and m2V files. I believe that I just added the ad2ac3dec.dll to the Premier folder copying it from the Encore folder per www.slashcam.com/EN/info/Premiere-CS3--No-audio-on-some-imports-MPEG-258091.html .

32 bit mode option missing for CS5.1

I have both CS5.1 and CS6 PS istalled on my iMAC. I want to use CS5.1 with filters that only work in 32 bit mode. I can no longer change my CS5.1 PS to open in 32- bit mode. The option is mysteriously missing from the "get info" panel. I have accesed "get info" properly but clicking on the PS app icon, then right clicking to get the get info panel as I have always done in the past, (no, I'm not high-lighting the PS folder).
The option to reset PS 5.1 to 32 bit is nowhere to be found. Why, and how do I get it back? Uninstall/ reinstall PS 5.1?
I am also using OS X 10.8.4

To open MainStage in 64-bit mode, Control-click the MainStage icon in the Applications folder, choose Get Info from the shortcut menu, then deselect the “Open in 32-bit mode” checkbox
I tried your suggestion, but can't find in Activity Monitor where it indicates the bit mode. Can you clarify? Thanks again.

I have Photoshop CS5 student edition. I have been working through some youtube tutorials. One of the tutorials includes a variations function, however it does not appear to be on the program I have.

Just upgraded to CS5 from CS3...long-time Photoshop pro user. I have always simply clicked an element in the photohsop image which selected that layer. Holddown shift while clicking several layers selected all those layers. Not it seems the only way to not use the layers palette to select layers is by right-clickingon EACH layer and then selecting that layer from a right flyout contextual menu. Is this a change? Why does the Adobe team change things like this. We power users are programmed to work fast using this kind of shortcut, and now so many of my shortcuts are changed. Another example is that when in the layer adjustment/curves palette, I used to be able to use command + 1,2,3 to select R G and B channels to edit. Now it has been changed to something else, option + 3,4 and 5!! WTH?
Please, someone get back to me on this layer selection question. Setting somewhere? I just want to be able to quickly click on something in the image to select that layer without right-clicking, flyout, select blah blah blah.

With the Move Tool active, check the Auto-Selection option in the option panel...you can choose either Layers or Groups...and as with any update, it's useful if you learn how to use it. BTW, did you know whith any tool selected, holding Command/Control allows you to see a context menu with all the layers currently under the cursor? Most power users find this function more efficient than using Auto-Select.
