Transparent box on image printing strage

Hello,
A .png image in a document has a transparent background, and it looks fine as a PDF, but is very clearly a different color when printed. Any thoughts on what this could be?
Thanks!

  • Text/image boxes disappearing when printed to PDF [CS2, Win]

Strange things are happening today: Text boxes and image boxes, perfectly visible in InDesign -- are completely disappearing when printed to PDF.
The first time I printed, everything came out fine. Then after I moved some stuff around and reprinted, things disappeared.
Any insight would be much appreciated.

    Yes, that worked. Thanks!
    Any idea why this happened?

  • How do I get rid of faint white boxes around images?

Some files that I have printed have faint white boxes around images.  The images were saved in photoshop with transparent backgrounds that seem to be showing up faintly in the final printed image.  Does anyone know how I can get rid of this problem?

    signspec,
What happens if you print from Illy?
Your printer (driver) may be overly helpful and performs a bit of colour management all by itself. You may have a look and disable any such management in the printer (driver) options.

  • Images print URL instead of image

I have developed crystal report which shows multiple images(stored as URL pointing to Unix box location where images are placed). Same is publised to Infoview where i can see the images properly. When i am printing the images, its not printing the image instead just showing the URL.
Please help how to resolve this.

--Which viewer you are using to Print ? ( DHTML, ActiveX, Java ?? )
--Whatever viewer you were using, can you change it in 'preferences' and see if you get same error in toher viewers?
--Are you flexible in using Printing the report after it get exported to PDF ? If yes, you can use this setting from CMC ?
--If you export the report to PDF and print from Infoview, does the images print fine?

  • Transparent box not showing in Acrobat

I have a customer that created a page in ID CS 4 with a white box (63%Tr) over 2 cmyk pics and a separate box of type laid over the Transparent box w/100k type.
I have checked this file over extensively and see nothing out of the ordinary.
She creates the PDF (Acrobat 6 V 1.5)...no box (We advise a direct export to PDF from ID)
I DL the app files...same thing...
Odd thing tho, I open PDF, clik on/off wireframes in PitStop and box shows up...
    Customer states
"CS4 instructs me to make the pdf compatible with Acrobat 4 if I want to be able to print transparencies."
I do not get this warning when creating the PDF
I did create a V1.3 from same file and box is there...
We have changed our workflow to carry live transparencies and have not had any problems for the last 2 years using the Adobe PDF Print Engine vs our original Adobe CPSI RIP.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks in advance,
    rog

In InDesign go to view> overprint preview. Does the box vanish? if so, it is set to overprint. Go to window> attributes and turn it off.

  • Transparency problems: Objects not printing

Recently had 2 jobs go bad due to objects with transparency effect applied not printing when export to PDF was created (both from CS3 and 4 and 5). I could not find anything special about the files, and I could not reproduce the problem (unless I copied an object into the same box with the original object).
But files coming in from 2 different customers had this issue:
The PDF made from Export to PDF produced a PDF that looked as if it did not print the object with transparency effect, but upon further looking the objects were there, but to get them to show (and print) we had to delete a box (nothing in the box) using Pitstop, then the object would show. The Transparency was correct and overprinting was correct, but the original PDF produced, had them covered with this box. If I made a flattened PDF(1.3) then the objects would show and print fine.
Has anyone had a simlar problem? What is the print shop production environment solution?
    Thanks
    Willy

Funny, just today I came to similar problem. Creating pdfs for clients approval: a preset that I user regulary (with downsampling etc) creates pdf with this problem, and the press preset creates correct pdf. I guess that it has to be a picture box property... but can't think of any solution other than cutting the content (picture), creating new box and pasteing it into.

  • Panoramic image prints in wrong orientation on roll paper

Trying to print panoramic image on roll paper on Epson Silver 1280 printer. Image displays in correct orientation in print preview box but prints across the roll paper as a cropped portion of the image which is 11" X 43" horizontal format. It's a Photoshop CS image printed on G4 powermac in system 10-3-9. Printer connected to computer via usb cable. Everything else prints fine. Just can't print on roll paper. Any thoughts??

    Also, just did this test:
I used all of my old settings:
    Roll Paper selected
    Ultra Prem. Photo paper luster
    Super 2880 dpi
    no high speed
And then I used the old paper profile for ilford gallerie smooth pearl. (I used this even though I'm currently printing on Ilford Prestige paper.)
And it came out with NO faint grey Border!
Then I tried it with all of those same settings, except I used the older profile for Ilford Gallerie Smooth Pearl for the ROLL paper (IGSPP11Roll_EPP4800_PSPPn.icc)
Then I got the grey border.
And finally just to make sure I wasn't crazy, I tried one more time:
All settings as above except I chose the GPSPP12_EPSpro4800_PSPPn
Which is the profile I downloaded to match the prestige paper.
    And GREY BORDER!
So It seems like using the prestige profile was giving me the wash of grey. And also the roll paper version of the old gallerie smooth pearl also gave me a grey border.
But what should I do now? I want to use the proper paper profile so my colors and tones come out right. I don't feel comfortable just using the wrong paper profile just to stop the border.
On another note, I researched the Highlight Point shift (based on advice I heard from a friend) and that really sounded like what was causing it. However, I am not even seeing that on my printing options. I must be using a different driver or something. When I'm in photoshop, i just select "File - Print" and then go through that normal dialog. Is there some other way to print that gives me many more options?
Thanks to you all for your help so far.

  • Images printing over double page spreads

    Hi all,
I was just about to order a new book through Aperture, when I looked closely at the PDF and noticed that there was image duplication when an image was placed across a double page spread - the duplication occurs right where the spine would be - about an inch (maybe less) or so of the photo is repeated on both the left and right pages. Has anyone else experienced a problem with this? Is this correct? Perhaps it's just allowing for the binding process. Any help gratefully taken - even more so if you could check your own printed books and see if there are any issues with images printed over a double page spread.
    Thanks,
    GT
PS - rwboyer - I just emailed you privately about this as well, to include an image - sorry if that is terribly rude.

    Hi again,
I've answered by own question (or had it answered by Apple) - DO NOT drag an image box over the spine - it will cause a significant amount of duplication of the image on both the left and right pages. This will be reflected in the print version.
I've suggested to Apple that there should be something that stops users from doing this. In my opinion, it's not good enough that the software interface allows you to do this, only to screw it up at the print stage.

  • What to do, what to do...InDesign - Drop shadow adds semi-transparent box in PDF

I am having an issue when I add a drop shadow to an object. It looks fine in the InDesign file, but once I export it to PDF (high res - (low res looks fine)), around the object yes there is the shadow, but also there is a semi transparent box. I don't know how to remove that. I've been looking at the preferences but don't understand why that happens. I printed it out and the box comes out. Please Help!!! Thanks
    I am using ID CS4

  • Images printing too small using Lightroom

I have an image that is 316x x 2317 pixels that I am printing using Lightroom 2.3 on Windows XP SP2. I use the Picture Package and add one 4x6 image to the sheet. I am using the Maximize template from the browser. The photo borders are minimum. The image nearly fills the page in the Lightroom viewer just as I expect. The image appears the same in Print Preview. However on my Epson 3800 the image prints about 30% smaller and offset to one corner of the 4x6 sheet.
The problem also occurs when printing from Photoshop CS4.
I am not scaling or resizing in the print driver. I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer using the latest driver.
    Please help!!
    Michael

    Oh my...
It seems that, embarrasingly I was tripple checking everything for 4x6 prints but actually had 5x7 loaded in the printer!
    Thanks for helping the hopeless.

  • Acrobat Reader DC - Bug with Dialog Boxes Containing Images?

    Hi all -
Been testing Reader DC.  Only took a couple of minutes to adjust to the new interface; pretty slick and intuitive.
Noticed a potential issue that I wanted to warn/share/prob solve with the community.
I was putting Reader DC through it's paces with a XFA PDF that has some dialog boxes, some of which even had images in them.  (Thanks again to BR001.)
The dialog boxes with images look great on Acrobat & Reader 9/10/11 (WIN & MAC) - images are clear; no pixelation.
Reader DC on MAC appears to be fine - resolution looks the same.
But Reader DC on WIN - the images are now pixelated. Especially around the edges, characters/numbers, etc.  You can tell something is "off" with the image.
A few simple side-by-side tests can be seen at links below.  Reader DC is on left; Acrobat 9 (9.5.5) is on right.
    Green smiley face: Dropbox - icon differences.PNG (83 x 83)
    Lightroom image: Dropbox - Lightroom Image - Comparison Test.PNG (225 x 132)
Reader DC banner image: Dropbox - Reader DC Banner--- Comparison test.PNG  *MOST VISIBLE ON THIS EXAMPLE (ironically) (422 x 45)
Simple banner with words image: Dropbox - Simple Banner - comparison test.PNG (342 x 100)

Bug in Reader DC for Windows? Not sure what else the cause could be...
Anyone having their dialog boxes with images open in Reader DC for Windows WITHOUT the pixelation?
    FYI/thoughts/ideas/suggestions/confirmations?  Hmmm.....

Little easier; picture's worth a thousand; etc.

  • I can not perform software updates or download any programs. They appear in the download box as images that are not recognized. How can I fix this?

I can not perform software updates or download any programs. They appear in the download box as images that are "not recognized". I thought maybe my antivirus software was setting up a firewall, but I have disabled it, so that's not the case. Any suggestions as to  how I can fix this?

If the downloads are gone, it's possible that Windows is removing the downloads based on security policies set in IE. I realize that sounds strange, but it's related to Firefox's feature of submitting downloads to your virus scanner and marking them as having come from the internet.
To test this theory, you could try disabling the scan feature. I assume you have good "real time" antivirus protection which checks every file saved to your hard drive. (If not, you really should get that, and you can use Microsoft's free [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials Microsoft Security Essentials] for now until you have time to review all the available choices.)
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the filter box, type or paste '''scan''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click '''browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone''' to toggle its value.
Firefox now should ignore Windows' download security. Does it change how Windows handles the file?

  • When I open up an e-mail attachment a box pops up PRINT TO FILE below that line OUTPUT FILE NAME with an empty line for the file name vs. simply going to my default printer?

when I open up an e-mail attachment a box pops up PRINT TO FILE below that line OUTPUT FILE NAME with an empty line for the file name vs. simply going to my default printer?

Make sure that '''''Print to File''''' isn't selected in the native print dialog box ''(see screenshot below)'' middle-right, and make sure your Printer is selected at the top of that dialog box.

  • Boxes are not printing after taking print out

    Dear All,
i have developed a script ,which contains some rows and columns. To display rows and columns i have used BOX command. In print preview all boxes are coming properly, but if i take Print out(Even in PDF view also) some boxes are not printing. What would be the problem here?
    with regards
    Naresh

    Hi friend,
There must be some problem in printer settings
    or
Try reducing the size of the box and see because of the size also printer may avoid the boxes.
Just try these both i think either one of the both must be a problem.
Still did not get the desired output please revert back to me. I will help you.
    Thanks,
    Sri Hari

  • Up graded to CS and images print out are green.

    Hello,
I am using 10.4.11 operating system. I upgraded from Photo shop 7.0 to CS and all my images print out green. The printer is a Epson Stylus C88+. The images on my monitor look the same as 7.0. I do a nozzle check every day.
Does any body know why this happened?
    Please help!
    Many thanks,

You should always save your photos on computer like any other digital camera.
