Transparent slides into  pictures

I was told I could take a "slide" - the transparent kind you show through a projector up on a screen, scan them and turn them into a picture slide show in my Photoshop program. I have Photoshop Premiere 5.0 and Elements 3.0

Toni,
There are available accessories for digitizing 35mm. slides using a digital camera. Just one example is here:
http://shop.vendio.com/daleathy/item/725346413/?s=1180951202
I have also seen plans for constructing a light box to hold the slide, illuminate it, and secure the digital camera - a home made version. Unfortunately I did not save the directions, but perhaps you can find it by googling.

  • Why did my CanoScan 8800F stop scanning my 35mm slides into IPhoto 09 version 8.1.2 (424)?  I did it exactly the same way as I had done about two hundred other slides.

    I had been using my CanoScan 8800F unit to transfer 35mm slides into digital pictures within my IPhoto 09, Version 8.1.2 (424).
    All of a sudden it stopped transferring photos even though I could hear it scanning.  Any ideas "why/"

    I guess I will wrap this up. I have abandoned iPhoto and viewing my Photo Streams using it and moved to Adobe products (Bridge + PS). So that's that.

  • Importing Keynote slides into Pages

    I'm new to a Mac. I'm doing a copy and paste of Keynote slides into a Pages document. The quality of the slide image is very poor when printed. I've done this many times before in Windows (with PPT and Word) and the quality is very high. I thought it might be the slide template I chose but then tried several others and the quality is still poor. Anybody have any suggestions?

    Why not check what it is you are getting when you copy and paste?
    Is the entire slide being rasterised to a bitmap?
    What resolution is the original slide and is it being changed when you copy and paste.
    More to the point is how are you printing the final Pages document?
    If you are going to .pdf file first and there is transparency, reflections or shadows then that will be rasterised to a low 72dpi thanks to Apple's bad settings in OSX's ColorSync filters.
    If the Keynote images look fine in Pages even when you zoom in on them, then the problem very likely is the ColorSync filters.

  • Incorporating PowerPoint 2008 slides into GarageBand

    Does anyone know if its possible to incorporate PowerPoint slides into a Garageband podcast? I haven't used GarageBand and am helping a user create a podcast but wants to use PowerPoint slides in his podcast for ITunesU. What is a good video/audio production utility for Mac OS X? I've used Camtasia Studio 5, Jing for Windows.

    I think I figured it out. I saved the slides as jpeg pictures then had to import the photos into IPhoto so that the GarageBand media browser could see the photos then just dragged the slides into the Podcast Track then record the podcast and mix it and then exported as an aac and could see the slides in the Now Playing window.
    Thanks to both of you for responding.

  • Import Keynote Slides into Imovie

    Is it possible to import a Keynote slide into Imovie? If not, is there some way to create a "call out" word balloon and make it appear with a still photo in Imovie?

    sure ..
    https://sites.google.com/site/karstenschluter/how-to-make-a-vidcast/keynote
    demoes the usage of Keynote with iMovie.
    you can use 'animated' presentations or single 'charts' as jpegs ..

    two options:
    • prepare the still in some 'paint'-app, demoed here:

    • use the 'transparent-png-trick', demoed here:

  • Entering slides into iphoto?

    What is the best way to enter several hundred old slides into iphoto?

    CH50:
    As PhillyPhan mentioned if the slides need to be scanned first then there are several flatbed scanners that can scan transparencies and has software to create a separate file for each slide as long as there's a wee bit of space between the two. You'll have to look at a very high resolution so that the resulting file is useable for printing, etc. But it can be done. I'd look at the Canon line as one possibility.
    Do you Twango?
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • I need to convert hundreds of TRANSPARENT PDFs into PNG or TIFF

    I need to convert hundreds of TRANSPARENT PDFs into PNG or TIFF.
    That's not possible with Acrobat. It’s possible to convert hundreds of PDFs into PNG or TIFF using batch processing. But transparency is LOST!
    Photoshop is the only software I know of which is able to keep transparency when converting from PDF to PNG.
    But now I have problems to get batch processing running.
    I made an Action with “Open file”, “Save as PSD” and “Export to PNG”.
    Using this Action in batch-process-files with source as a folder with many PDFs and target as a different folder results in many opened PDFs within Photoshop. Nothing else happens:-(.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Norbert

    Great:)
    It worked at once.
    Thank you so much for this link.

  • Window that slides into view

    Hi all, I'm looking to add a little bit of Swing eye-candy.
    I have a little pop-up window that informs the user that their file has saved after they hit "save" or Ctr-S. I need it to be noticeable (so that they are assured that their file did indeed save), yet out of the way and not requiring any action on their part (no "Ok" button).
    Currently I have a little JWindow that appears at the bottom of the frame when they save, and disappears after two seconds. However, I'm looking to make the application look a little polished, so I wanted something a little fancier.
    Does anyone know of a way to get a JWindow (or any other kind of internal, non-modal frame or dialog) to slide in from the edge of a parent frame? I'd want it to look like it was being pushed in, so the whole thing would slide into view in one piece (i.e. not stretching). Or a similar kind of eye-candy that would be simple to implement (maybe fade-in fade-out)?
    Any help greatly appreciated, thanks!

    Hey that works great! Using null layout makes a lot of sense.
    I couldn't get it to be both fast and smooth -- changing the delay/repeat time to 0 doesn't make it significantly faster, so instead I had to increase the amount by which it moves each time, so it's less smooth. It still looks pretty good, though.
    For anyone else who's looking for this, I'm posting an excerpt of my code below, which slides the window up from the bottom right corner and then back down again a couple seconds later. I haven't made it into an SSCE, since that's above.
    Thanks again!
    final JWindow savedWindow = new JWindow();
    JLabel savedLabel = new JLabel("File saved");
    savedLabel.setFont(saveStateLabel.getFont().deriveFont(Font.BOLD));
    String fileName = currentAuthoredFile.getAbsolutePath();
                                       // .... bunch of layout omitted
    savedWindow.add(savedPanel);
    savedWindow.pack();
    final int desiredHeight = savedWindow.getHeight();
    savedWindow.getContentPane().setLayout(null);
    savedWindow.setSize(savedWindow.getWidth(), 0);
    bottomCorner = new Point(mainFrame.getLocationOnScreen().x + mainFrame.getWidth(),
         mainFrame.getLocationOnScreen().y + mainFrame.getHeight());
    savedWindow.setLocation(bottomCorner.x - savedWindow.getWidth(), bottomCorner.y);
    savedWindow.setVisible(true);
    javax.swing.Timer timer = new javax.swing.Timer(0, new ActionListener() {
        public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
            int newHeight = Math.min(savedWindow.getHeight()+6, desiredHeight);
            savedWindow.setSize(savedWindow.getWidth(),newHeight);
            savedWindow.setLocation(bottomCorner.x - savedWindow.getWidth(), bottomCorner.y-savedWindow.getHeight());
            savedPanel.repaint();
            if(newHeight >= desiredHeight) {
                ((javax.swing.Timer) e.getSource()).stop();
                //restore original layout
                savedWindow.getContentPane().setLayout(new BorderLayout());
                savedWindow.validate();
    timer.start();
    javax.swing.Timer timer2 = new javax.swing.Timer(0, new ActionListener() {
        public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
            int newHeight = Math.max(savedWindow.getHeight()-6, 0);
            savedWindow.setSize(savedWindow.getWidth(),newHeight);
            savedWindow.setLocation(bottomCorner.x - savedWindow.getWidth(), bottomCorner.y-savedWindow.getHeight());
            savedPanel.repaint();
            if(newHeight <= 0) {
                ((javax.swing.Timer) e.getSource()).stop();
                savedWindow.dispose();
    timer2.setInitialDelay(2500);
    timer2.start();

  • Can I paste a 1280 x 720 slide into a 1680 x 1050 presentation?

    I'd like to be able to paste samples of various shows in various resolutions into a single presentation without hyperlinks. I'm presenting on my 17", so I'd like to use the full-screen resolution, 1680 x 1050. I'd like to paste a 1280 x 720 show into it, but Keynote automatically resizes every frame, and everything scales inaccurately do to the difference in aspect ratios. I don't want to have to rebuild every slide. I know I can copy the contents of each slide and paste it onto a blank slide in the final presentation, and the animations copy over, but the transitions get lost. Is there a way to either import the file or copy the complete slide show from the navigator and maintain the integrity of the original?

    Thanks -
    I hadn't thought of 1680 x 945, I'll try that next go-round.
    In the meantime, I created a special frame inside my target presentation, and just copied and pasted the elements I wanted from the smaller slides into the frame in a slide-by-slide process. It actually worked perfectly, and allowed me to highlight the samples in a worthwhile way.
    But thanks for the hint! It'll come in handy soon.

    Hey
    >>where SOAP comes into picture
    SOAP is used when u have a already generated WSDL file and u want to use that as a scenario in ur data type
    >>why do we have MI(messgae interface) in WSDL MT, and DT in xsd
    its not like that,even DT and MT conforms to WSDL standards,infact main use of DT is this itself to conform to WSDL standards

    This feature is not available in the current version (15.1) of OneNote for Mac. You can request this feature via this page:

    I have turned PowerPoint slides into a PDF and now want to insert this into a docx packet.  I can't do this.  Help.

    Hi leastoners,
    If you're trying to insert a file into a Word document, your best bet is to check the Word online Help. (What you describe sounds like a function of Word, not of Acrobat). I did a quick search and came up with this: Add a PDF to a document - Word. But I'm not sure that's what you're looking for.
    If I misunderstood your request, please let me know and we can take it from there.

  • Can I Integrate Keynote Build Slides Into iMovie?

    It's me the Mac/iMovie newbie with another question...
    Is there a way I can integrate a 'building' Keynote slide into an iMovie project?
    Your help and/or direction is very much appreciated!

    Thanks again AppleMan, will try this tonight!
    Once I export to QuickTime, where do I find the QuickTime file, and how do I pull it into my project?
    Apologies if this is a dumb question once again!
    Cheers!
