Transport Active Metadata in BW Adapter

Hello Experts! I need your HELP!!!!
If I enter in development machine, tcode BWA5 I have a lot of infosources checked as "Active" but there is not any transport requests with this objects.
Do I have to activate them in Productive environment or does it need a transport request?
And how can I transport this active metadata?  I trasnported datasources from rsa5 but in productive system in BWA5 there is not any check "Active"
Tahnk you very much!
Ana

Hi Naveen,
I'm facing hte same issue, did you get any solution for your thread ?
Appreciate your comments.
Many Thanks..!

  • Change status(Active/Inactive) of file adapter by the external command

    Hi, all.
Is it possible to change status(Active/Inactive) of file adapter by the external command?
      Let's say, like
      "$ switch_file_adapter_status.sh <File Adapter name> <active|inactive>"
    or something like that.
Actually, we have the following requirement for the file adapter.
For example, we have many "file adapter to R/3" scenarios and we only want to allow data transfer between 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.(R/3 service time).
In order to achieve this requirement, one option would be to switch file adapter status between active and inactive by external command line.
And this command will be controlled by the job scheduler(like Tivoli).
Does XI(3.0 or above) have this kind of feature?
      Best Regards.

    Hi,
I don't think that this is possible.
But one Solution for your problem could be a job on xi who execute the Queue.
So that Adapter work the hole time and send the Message to XI Queue which process them not automatically.
And the XI Queue you can trigger with a Job like normal R/3 Jobs.
    Hope that helps,
    Regards,
    Robin

  • Error when using Variable Transport Binding in Sender Mail Adapter

    Hi,
I am using the Sender Mail Adapter to receive an email, convert the attached tab delimited text file into xml and map it to an IDOC.
I am using PayloadSwapBean and MessageTransformBean in order to do this, and this all works perfectly.
I am now trying to access the Adapter Specific Message Attributes to retrieve the SHeaderFROM attribute from the message and map it to a field in the idoc.
However when I check the "Variable Transport Binding" option in the Advanced tab of the mail adapter, the message no longer goes through to SXMB_MONI and I get the following error in the Java logs.
Transmitting the message to endpoint http://sapserver:53500/sap/xi/engine?type=entry using connection AFW failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Received HTTP response code 500 : Error during parsing of SOAP header.
Any ideas why this is happening?
    Thanks,
    Brad

    Hi Luciana,
Honestly, I cant really remember how or if it was resolved and I was just helping out on the issue, but another consultant continued with it, so unfortunately I cant be any help on this.
    Good luck!
    Cheers,
    Brad

  • List of actively addressed adapters for Adapter Engine

There are two different types of adapter for sending data from a sender application
    system to the Integration Server:
    • Adapters that can be actively addressed, for example the ABAP proxy adapter, the plain HTTP adapter, the IDoc adapter
    • Polling adapters, for example the file/FTP adapter and the mail adapter
Can anyone specify which adapters can be actively addressed?  I'm using XI scaling and need to know which adapters I have to point to the adapter engine, versus polling adapters.

    It sounds ok.

  • Sendpoint metadata in HTTP Adapter

    Hi All
I'm trying to configure several parameters not through the adapter.ini file but through iStudio defined metadata.
This is the standard way suggested in the (scarce) documentation to handle multiple endpoints and other parameters.
According to the "Oracle9 iAS InterConnect Adapter for HTTP
Installation and Users Guide" the way to do it is through a "Modify Fields button of the Subscribe Wizard - Define Application View dialog".
The problem is... I cannot get that button in any subscribe wizard when the document type is "XML". I can get that button by selecting "Generic" as the message type when subscribing to the event, but the Fields I have to create (nothing to modify there in) are ignored by the HTTP Adapter.
Has anybody out there done this and can help me ?
    Regards
    Gast

    Hi Gaston,
Yes, you are correct in using the "Generic" message type which essentially is equivalent to XML, except you now have to specify the Root element manually.
Now, there are a few additional things to check which I will describe here.
1- You must define the Modify Fields properties on the subscribing side, not on the publishing side.
2- You need to define a unique endpoint name for each Modify Fields property set, e.g.:
    ota.endpoint=myHttpEndpoint1
3- Finally you must define the actual endpoint, using the following property:
    ota.send.endpoint=http://www.acme.com:8080/su...
In general all the properties from adapter.ini that you need to override, must be defined here (for example authentication information etc).
    Hope this helps.

  • Activating Metadata Navigation and Filtering feature results in no access to Site

    Hi

Deactivate the feature and access is restored. Note we have just deployed the Dec 14 CU but this does not happen on our Staging site which also has the Dec 14 CU

    Hi,
For your issue, maybe the permissions for the Portal Super User and Portal Super Reader were not correctly positioned on the web application policy:
You need to add Portal Super Reader account with Full Read permissions on the web application policy and you could access site pages even when Metadata Navigation Filtering was activated.
You need to addPortal Super User account with Full Control permissions on the web application policy and you could create the new site collection, access site pages even when Metadata Navigation Filtering was activated.
Refre to the following article about creating the user accounts by using Central Administration:

  • Personalization in BEx: transport activation to production ?

    Hi,
on our development system (SAP BW 3.1) we have activated the "personalization in bex" via "BW Customizing - Implementation Guide - Business Information Warehouse - Reporting-relevant Settings - General Reporting Settings Activate Personalization in BEx".
Is there a possibility to transport the activation to  consolidation/production system.
    Thanks for your help.

Locking the users is the primary step. This is done so that while transporting the changes there are not entries made.
If there are entries made, there is every chance that you will loose that data as your Data source has undergone a structural change.
Users have to be locked. Its a must.
You can minimize your downtime if you are not filling the Setup tables for History Data.
Or if you are filling the Setups for history data, then you will have to plan it out in such a way that it requires minimum time.
Users need not be locked if the change is not affecting any Data Source (Live or New). But in your case, there is a change to the DS. So, please Lock the users before transporting.
    Regards
    Vishal

  • Transporting active version of datasource from DEV to PRD

    Hi,
When I transport a 3.x datasource from DEV to PRD, the version I am getting in PRD is 'modified'. In DEV we have both modified and active versions and there's no difference between them. When I try to activate the modified version, it says that I have to maintain the transfer rules associated with the datasource. Then it takes me to the transfer rules display but I am not sure what to do next...how to activate the datasource. How do I get the active version from DEV to PRD?

  • OSB 11g - FTP Transport - Active or Passive connections?

    Hi,
When we create a Proxy Service in OSB to use FTP transport, which type of connection OSB establishes with the server? Is it active FTP or passive FTP conecction?
    Thanks,
    Sanjay
Edited by: Sanjay Bharatiya on 20-Dec-2010 11:46 AM

OSB uses passive mode for proxy services and active mode for business services. There is a patch available which will make both proxy and business services to use passive mode. If you need the patch please open a Service Request in MyOracle Support and mention the support Note (860423.1)
Passive mode is desired if you want to open the firewall ports, if any, from OSB server to FTP server only and not other way from FTP Server to OSB server.

  • Transport activation date needed

    Hello,
following problem. We imported too many design objects from dev into production. We would like to find out for which objects in production a new version was created by the transport. That information cannot be derived by the XI 3.0 Transport GUI functionality (we are using file transport) because:
    - the history lists in dev and production are identical because of the transport
    - the history entry does not show the date when this version was made active in production. It only shows when it was originally created in dev. So we do not know if before the transport, the newest version already existed in production !
    - the number of imported objects also does not help on that issue. It also counts objects which have already had the same version in production, meaning transport did not touch them. According to my understanding, the transport import function detects when the versions are already the same and skips that object.
Isn't there a way to get a list of objects which have REALLY been changed by that import in production ? Maybe a logfile from the transport ?
The problem is that there may have been some changes in dev which were not meant to be transported.
    CSY

    Hi,
I think there is no other way to check this...
even though its a file transport i think everyone uses the Transport request process in ABAP stack where in each Export file will be tagged to a TR number which will differentiate the transports.
i know this is not solution for your problem, but i think this is a good procedure to follow to avoid problems like this...
    Thanks..

  • Transportable tablespace (metadata export with READ WRITE tablespace set)

Is it possible to use transportable tablespace backup for import if data files for tablespace set has been copied when tablespaces were READ ONLY but the metadata export (or a part of it) is taken after tablespaces has been set to READ WRITE?

Actually the size of datafile(s) are too huge so unable to test the same on test box with TTS export backup.
But my question is if there were no structural changes (DML might be there on tablespace objects) even after making tablespaces to READ WRITE till the time metadata export is completed(data files are copied to staging location already before tablespaces has been set READ WRITE), Shall I use these backup for import?

  • Transport ack in the file adapter

I have gone through the blog /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2006/06/22/xi-playing-with-the-file-adapters-acknowledgments
and i understand the functionality of the transport ack in the async send step..
what i want to know is there a way to do processing like if the ack is positive then say transformation step 1 should be performed else transformation step 2 will be performed...
in short how can we capture the ack for further processing

The scenario in the blg ends with the Block step....in your case do not end with the Block have the rest of the steps after that.
The only indication that the Send has been successful is that the control comes out of the BLOCK step....so place the Transformation step outside (after) the BLOCK step...if there is no exceptio then it will be executed and hence the indication.
Now if -ve ACK then have Transformation step in the EXCEPTION branch.

    Abhishek.

  • Error when Loading Metadata for IDOC Adapter

    Everybody,
I know this should be pretty straight forward and that there are a few posts about it.  But following the Demo 3.0 guide and the posts I can't seem to load the data into the IDOC Adapter.  I did every step in the guide and when I try to execute IDX2 for the source port I previously created I get the error "No RFC Destination is maintained  for the port".
Following the guide I have my XI host
    ID:ABC
    Instance:01
    Client:700
Executed IDX1 and got port SAPABC_107 with RFC Dest-ABC_107, which I defined previously with transaction sm59 and the test came back ok.
When I try to execute IDX2 I get the error message...
    What am I missing ?????
    Thanks!
    Diego

Everything was setup before (by following the XI 3.0 Demo guide) here are the steps I did:
    1. Setup an RFC R/3 Destination on my client 107 (American Airlines) to client 700 (my XI): ABC_700
    2. Setup an RFC R/3 Destination on my client 700 to client 107: ABC_107
    3. Setup the IDOC processing port "SAPABC" on client 107 with RFC Destination ABC_700.
    4. Define partner type LS for logical system ABCCLNT105 (Airline Lufthansa)
    5. Define partner type LS for logical system ABCCLNT700 (XI)
    6. Specified the ALE distribution model in client 107.
    7. Execute IDX1, I input the SAPABC port created in step 3, input the client number 107 and the RFC destination ABC_107 created in step 2 and save.  The result is port SAPABC_107.
    AND..!! where the error occurs:
    8. Execute IDX2 input port SAPABC_107 and idoc type and get the error message "No RFC Destination is maintain for SAPABC_107"
    Any ideas !?
    Thanks
    D
The client 107 represents the Airline American Airlines and has a R/3 RFC Destination to client 700, my XI.  The same way my XI has an R/3 RFC Destination to client 107.
