Transport holder problem

Hi guys,
I am about to transport a Query and when I selected that query for transport; I saw for some query elements, the transport request and transport order holder have already been assigned different transports and different user respectively. Can I go ahead and still transport my query to other box in the landscape or I have to ask those users to unlock those query elements so I can transport mine.
I am not sure. Help would be appreciated.

If your objects are locked in other transports, those needs to be released first. Otherwise if you transport your query, it will miss those elements in target box. The query transport might give you the return code 8. So either move the other transports or unlock the object using SE03. Transporting them is the suggested option.

Transport Stream Problems

My compressor keep locking up when I set it to export in "MPEG-2/Transport Stream" setting. I would like to export in this setting because I believe that this is how Toast encodes to BluRay.
Any ideas/thoughts/solutions?

I'm not sure about your transport stream problem, but Toast doesn't need it; it will use its AVCHD encoder on a regular QT movie; I exported a self contained QT movie from an FCP timeline, dragged it into the Toast window, and let it encode; it worked well.
If you send Toast a previously compressed file, it will encode it again in the AVCHD format, probably at a loss of quality.
Toast can burn the Blu Ray format to a standard DVD, giving you about 30 minutes of HD footage, and using your standard DVD burner.

Transport request problem

Hi all,
when releasing the transport request from developement client subrequest is released properly but when released the main request getting the error
" Test call of transport control program (tp) ended with return code 0232
    Message no. TK094
Diagnosis
    Your transport request could not be exported, since all requirements
    were not fulfilled.
    Calling the transport control program tp
       "tp EXPCHK DEVK904964 pf=/usr/sap/trans/bin/TP_DOMAIN_PRD.PFL

    which checks the export requirements, returned the following

Hi SK,
As the transport log itself saying that the connection to development failed. There may be some connection issue in STMS. Ask your basis if there is any problem.

Transport request problem with a ztable

Hello,
I have some problems releasing a customizing transport request. It contains "table contents" of a z table. This z table is marked as "customizing table" (option C).
Error message is "task desk900213 belongs to a different category"

What type of request are you using. Also let me know the classification of task.
I mean if you a workbench request is giving this error then try using a customising one and if a customising one is giving this error try using workbench transport.

Stock transport order problem

hai guys

2.supplying plant posting goods issue With respect to the Stock transport order with valuation type V2.
3.But in the receiving plant it is showing valuation type V1 only.i want this should be automatically updated to Valuation type V2 from the supplying plant while posting goods receipt.
<b>NOTE:</b>both valuation type V1,V2 configured both in the Supplying and receiving plant.
How to resolve the above problem.

Use TCode MBSU to recive the material in receing plant against the suppling plant document
If u do goods recipt against STO it will pick up the data from sto only ie V1 and not V2

Km transport related problem

Hello guys,
I have done the offline transport of km data, and as the SAP documentation says only ACL's get transported. The problem is the we are not getting the collaboration tab in folder or document details property.
We are only getting View, Actions and Settings.
I guess this problem is due to ACL so i tried giving FULL CONTROL to a user but its not working? Also in the Settings tab it only shows few options like propeties permissions versioning and templates.

I assume that 'virtual' system as QA.
So you have setup TMS using that real DEV and virtual QA. You setup transport route, create a transport and release it.
The time when you release the transport, it is already applied now in DEV. Why it should be there in DEV Import queue then ? It would be shown in that Virtual system's Import queue (second system/QA) but not in dev import queue.
In any case you need not to 'apply/import' that transport 'again' in DEV, when it is already created and released from DEV.

Transporting request problem

Hi experts,
I have a peculiar problem. I created a datbase table A and modifed a table B in DEV. The table A was cleared in testing , qa and the transport was released to prodcution. Unfortunately that request also had the modifications made to an another table B which were not finalised and the fn group of maintenance genrator of table B was deleted. Now we are not able to maintain table B in prodcution. Anyone have ideas regarding this. Plz help .

try regenerate the table maintenance generator in DEV server,
then check whether the object is complete in SE10 ,
if not, open the related function in SE80 and edit all included objects,
then transport the whole objects of table maintenance function to production.
It is suggested to always check the transport request object by using SE10 before transport it to production .

Transport landscape problem (cannot change the object)

Hi All,
I have problem to change my object in the integration repository.
Initially, i only have 1 XI server (dev and prod), until certain level that i have to add additional server for development. So i just install new xi in new box (fresh). and export the repository object form production and import into this new box.
But the problem is i can't change all the object. is that any workaround to change the configuration so i can use my nex box become development and later on transport back all the changes to original production box.
Appreciate if you can give me some advise.

If you need to change anything in repository
you need to click on the software component in IR
and at the bottom of the screen you will find two checks
that will allow (or not) you to change objects
if you want to change anything in communication channel
you just need to go to change mode
you can change anything in ID

Large transports a problem?

Hello Folks,
in previous projects we always went for collecting objects into transport by type buttom up e.g.
1. Infoobjects
2. Data Sources
However, now we have enabled standard transport system and get prompts for every object creation. Which is convinient for developers as you save the collection process and you don't forget any object to collect.
General idea we got is to group now objects into process deliveries e.g. shipment load -> this would then contain all DSO, Cubes, Proces chains and even queries associated with this process.
With this approach the transports can get quite packed with objects.
Are large transports of any problem? My assumption is that it simply will run a bit longer on the target and yes there might be some exercise to fix problems (dependent object is in another transport). But overall large transports will work or did anyone had negativ experience.

Actually, we dont't have standard transport switched on in our system, as we don't want to collect everything we create, it has its own pros and cons.
Anyway regarding large transports, we once tried to transport 150 queries in one transport along with dataflow (in a landscape where we have several transports transported in a day across tracks). We were not able to release the transport (the reason may be as suggested by shailesh patil ) , it used to get stuck in red.
Finally we managed to take help from Basis and load it in splits
On contrary, this may be successful sometimes too.

CR 122 car holder problem

I bought a CR 122 for my N8.
But allready the first time I rotated it (to get the phone in "portrait mode")
the center pin (from the phone holder to the suction part) became "loose".
It's stable up/down and sideways. But rotates 10 deg each way.
Quite annoying. Is this a common problem? Anyway to thighten it
(must say I liked the old holders with screws and metal parts :-)

Well at least with the N8, you couldn't use the car charger, then - plugs into the normal power socket at the bottom of the handset.
Maybe OK if you're using the USB socket for charging.
Have to say, it was one of the downsides of using a 5230 in the car - if you wanted to use power, you had to plug it into the top of the phone - cable going up the screen, with the phone in portrait orientation - and I have to say, I much prefer sat nav on phones using the screen in portrait mode - as you get to see more of the road ahead of you, rather than a big wide view.
I don't really get the point of using "widescreen" sat navs in landscape mode - I know some roundabouts may look to be complex junctions, but I'd much rather have more view up the road, and more advance warning of where I need to be.

WITH HOLD problem when common_parser=yes compiler option used

we are using Oracle 11g precompiler and we start using "common_parser=yes" option because of JOIN keyword, but now WITH HOLD in DECLARE CURSOR statements is not supported.
So, the statement :
EXEC SQL DECLARE cur_name CURSOR WITH HOLD FOR SELECTc1, c2 FROM t1
gives an error when "common_parser=yes" is present

and when is not, we can compile this statement but we get the same error for JOIN (and we dont wont to rewrite JOIN statemnts to old syntax with +).
Is this a bug and is there a workaround or solution for this problem?

I don't have much information I can provide but this looks like an unpublished bug: Bug 8436316 - PARSER UNIFICATION: CURSOR WITH HOLD IS NOT SUPPORTED
The best I can say at this time is if you have a support contract to open a Service Request with My Oracle Support for any alternatives.
I know that is not much help but it does seem like this is a known bug (but no workaround that I have seen).

Transport Infoobjects Problem

Hi ALL,
I am facing a problem while I am trying to create one Transport request for several infoobjects and putting into one Package.Also after some Trouble shooting I saw that one of the infobject had version 7.0 and the other's had less than 7.0
It's giving an error."Edit Objects separately since they belong to different original Systems."
Please help to solve this.We want to put in the same request if possible

I dont think that the transport of the objects would be a issue depending on their version of availability.

Transport Role Problem

Hi Gurus!
I have a problem.
I need to transport a role from Test to Prod, but the role exists in Prod and the user create workbooks in this role.
How can I transport the role without afect the user workbooks??
- It Is a generated profile and i can't transport the profile through SU02
- I need to transport the role becasue the authorizations in the role are wrong
Any suggestion??

If the user has created the workbooks directly in production..
Then as far as I know you can not transport the role without replacing the existing workbooks in Production

Transport requiests problem?

HI,
Here is problem with the Transport requests.Please go through the scenerio and resonspond immediately.
There was transfer routine written for a particular infoobject and that routine is saved in a request BD1K902976.But latter our onsite folks asked me to write rotuine for 5 different infoobjects and that is in BD1K902982.As it was emergency we asked our basis to moove it to QA and thenPROD immediately.But it got failed both in QA and PROD.As there was some issues with the code again changes were made that is in BD1K903023.This also failed in QA and PROD.But now with some more changes in the code for 5 infoobects we have mooved to QA with the request BD1K903025.
Now heere is my proble,
Our change control is mooving BD1K902976 ,BD1K902982,BD1K903023 and BD1K903025 to PROD.But my intention is to get the changes of BD1K903025 in my production.Whether it will be available or not.Please tell me.

As ur latest transport is carrying the fresh changes that u have made... definitely this changes will be available once u import the request with overwrite mode in Q and P.
There wont be any issues.. as long as u have colected proper objects in ur transport..
So proceed with the import..

Transport Related Problem

Hi,
I have a Demo Server. I have configured stms by adding a virtual system. I have created a Transport Request and released it. Now I want it to show in the import queue of my system. So I am adding it manually via transaction stms_import --> Extras --> Other Requests --> Add.
But its giving error :- Transport control program tp ended with error code 0247**
**Errors: addtobuffer has problems with data- and/or cofile
So, I tried to Add it manually from OS via command:-
tp addtobuffer <Req No> <SID> Client=100 pf=/usr/sap/trans/bin/TP_DOMAIN_DV1.PFL
This time it is sucessful and I can see it in the import queue.
I want to know why it is not happening through SAP.
I have tested the following things:-
1. Trans_DIR - Its set in domain.pfl. Path is correct.
2. Tp test - It showing OK
3. Connection Test - Ok
4. Stms is configured. Routes are designed.
