Transport infopackage

Dear experts:
How to transport the elements who have a relation with the source system?
For example, each BW system has his own R3 source system. When i try to transport the infopackages from dev to test, how to deal make infopackage recognise the correct source system?

Check the steps for Tranporting:
1. goto RSA!----> transport connection tab.
there select the type of object to be transported ex- infocube.
2. select the grouping option required:
      1only necessary objects
      2indataflow before
      3 indataflow afterwards.
      4. indataflow before and afterwards
3. set automatic collection
4. double click on infocube and a scrren will appear with all infocube names. select    the required infocube.
Once u create any object in development server u will assign it to $TMP package.
when transporting objects, those objects must be assigned to different package.
5. click on transport button, it will ask for package . give the name and save.
6. a dialog box appears, asking for request. u create ur own request.
7. goto se09 t-code.
8. check modifiable checkbox and click on display button
9. select the request u created , first transport task in it.click on transport
10. STMS is the t-code for import. import will be taken care by basis team.

hi,
if you are going to transport datasource assignment, transfer rules, you can't use infopackage as starting point, you can use infosource as starting point, before transport infosource, transfer rules and datasource assignment, make sure you have 'replicate datasource' for that datasource in your target system (qas/production).
try use infosource as starting point, collection mode 'manual', grouping 'in dataflow before', and make sure your source system(r/3) is marked, click 'assign source system' (button yellow box with 'x').
'execute', after objects collection finished, expand the infosource and make sure transfer rules, datasource, infopackage are marked.

Infopackage hierarchy selection from OLTP is not saved when transported

I have created an infopackage in Development that is pulling an available hierarchy. I then transported Infopackage to QA, but the Hierarchy, although is available from OLTP, is not selected in InfoPackage. I created a copy of InfoPackage in the QA system and selected available hierarchy. It allows me to select hierarchy, save and execute. The issue I have is I need to transport the InfoPackage, created in DEV to all QA and Production systems. The InfoPackage is not retaining available hierarchy when being transported.

Usually infopackage will not be transported but created in QA and production systems. If the infopackage is transported to QA, the pushbutton in infopackage Hierarchies in OLTP will bring the hiearachies available in the QA R/3 system. Appropiate hierachy can be selected and the same infopackage can be saved.

BW ignores selection criteria in a Infopackage after transport

Hi all,
After transporting Infopackages with selection criteria the target system ignores them. If I create further Infopackages on the target system everthing is fine. It seems as if the criteria were not transported but they are displayed. I replaced the criteria, saved the infopackage again but this didn't solve my issue.
We are using BW 7.0 Level 14.
Any ideas?

thanks for your quick repsonse. I am talking about 10 Infopackages. I transported some of them again but always the same issue. I created new infopackages on production and indeed it works but I use them in process chains and therefoe I might change the chains on production. This is something I don't want to do.
Any other ideas?

Transport of Infopackages didn't change logical source system

Hi
I have transported a good number of process chains to test. However the infopackages are not visible in out test system. I looked in table RSLDPIO using options 'Active' and logical system 'testERP111' and they wern't there.
However, when i try the selection 'Active' and 'devERP111' they are there.
SO this means that the logical system name conversion hasn't worked. EVen though we have have the conversion devERP111 > testERP111 set up in the conversion of logical system names.
We have many clients (111, 112 113) on our system so the conversion is something wheich is always checked as part of transporting.
Any ideas why and how to solve it??

Along with that process chains, U should also transport infopackages / DTPs existing in that process chains.
In test system, u can check table RSPAKPOS for the infopackages. If the infopackage is does not exist in that table, u should transport the same to test system.

How to transport a Process chain and a Info Package Individually?(first time from DEV to QA)
Case 2
I have 9(IP1 to IP9)infopackages and 3(P1 to P3) Process chains and in each Process chain I have 3 Info packages like IP1,IP2,IP3 in P1 and so on.,
Now is it necessary to transport Infopackages and Process chains individually or is it enough to transport Process chains only(If v transport Process chains will the Infopackages will also transport)then how to assign a request to each one?
What I mean is,all Infopackages are in $TMP(Package),and Process chain is also $TMP,Now is it necessary to change the package for Infopackages as well as Process chain and Tranport only PC,Iam confused here,can anyone help me out?

Hi Balaji,
If you have created new infopackages then you have to transport them. It is not necssary to transport the info-packages if you have them in the process chain but have not changed them.
Also you cannot transport any BW object with $ tmp package. Assign a package and then transport the objects.
The best way to transport the process chain is from the RSPC screen. Click the transport button there and collect all the objects and transport them.

Infopackage transfort error

When I transport my infopackage, I get the error
I wonder why I can't transport infopackage from development to production.
DTP and Datasource, Infoobject, Cube, Transformation have no problem transport from development to production.
I have set up 1) Conversion of logical system name and 2) Assign of source system to source system ID under the "Tool" menu in T-Code, RSA1.

Hello,
The transport errors you are getting normally happen when there is a problem
with mappings of the source system and BW.
Please check this mapping in table RSLOGSYSMAP.
If there are incorrect entries, you can correct them via:
RSA1 -> Tools -> conversion of logical system names.
Please see also the following information:
According to the recommendation in SAP note 910393, never assign different
LOGSYSORG to the same LOGSYSNEW.
There should be a maximum of 1 LOGSYSORG for each LOGSYSNEW.
Please double check this note for details.

You wanted to generate an object with the name 'DM' (in transport request APCO) of type 'Application' (TLOGO). This is, however, not available in the BW Repository database. It does not exist in the requested version A. If the version is 'D' then it is possible that an error arose during the delivery or installation. If the version is 'A' then the Object was either not created or not activated.

The object was not taken into account in the next stage of processing.

Hi,
Just check if the data mart object is present in the target system or not.
Or if the object itself is active or present in the target system or not??
go to infosurces option and search for it begining with 8* followed by the object name.
If not then generate the object again.
but you can create the infopackage in the target system directly.

Transporting Process Chain to Production

Hi all,
We have developed a query on cube 0PS_C04 in development which has been transported to Production.
We also have a process chain in Dev, which loads data from 7 info packages (CO_OM_WBS 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 & CO_OM_NWA_1 & 2).
we need to transport the Process chain into Prod now. The steps followed in BW-Dev are
1. RSA1 -> Transport Connection -> SAP Transport -> Object Types -> Process Chain -> Select Objects
2. Selected Process Chain
3. Created new Transport Request
4. Set Packages
... I am not able to see any elements (ELEM) in the list. None of the items are selected. I feel this is the issue...
I have tgransported the query successfully and am able to generate the report without any data.
My previous transport ended with errors (when I had selected all the packages.
Please let me know whether I am going wrong somewhere or missed any steps.

I have checked 4-5 infopackages in Dev as well as production. They are all available in Prodn. Only descrepancy noticed was the schedule of the upload was different in Dev & Prodn.
Please advice whether I shd create fresh transport request for these infopackages and transport to production ?
If so, what would be its effect on already transported InfoPackage groups and Process chains?
eg. 0BUS_AREA_ATTR & 0BUS_AREA_TEXT were two such ips. They are part of IPG and are working without any errors till date.
Hope, this step will not land me in some other troubles...

Transport sequence of the data flow

HI Gurus,
I have created data model in DEV which I have to transport .
My data flow is DS- TRANFORMATION -DSO-TRANSFORMATION -DSO.
I want sequenceof the objects to transported .
The same Newly infobjects are present in the both dso . Can transport Both DSO in same request as both contain same newly created infoobject or in differnet request?
What about the DTPS and Infopackage swhen I should transport them ?
Please guide me.

-u can keep both DSO in one request.
-you have to transport infopackage and DTP also.
- First transport DSOs & transport IP and DTP.

Conversion of source system names

Hello Experts,
After having some transport problem (transporting infopackages), I notice that the source system mapping is not the same in DEV compared to PRD.
Other than change log which was not turned on, is there any other way I can find out who or when was the last change to this mapping table?
Am I right to say the mapping entries should exist in all systems? My DEV currently only has 1 entry compared to 6 entries in QAS and PRD.
The source system underwhich the infopackage resides is not shown in the DEV source system mapping table.
Is this the cause of my transport problem?

Am I right to say that mapping in target system cannot be transported and is set directly in target system QAS, PRD via RSA1 and no mapping is required even if there are other source systems, like flat file source systems, when the source system name is to be the same in all systems? In this case, my source system is a flatfile. Does this mean I need not maintain it? The 'no mapping' warning received in transport log shows that the flatfile source system concerned exists in the target system but no mapping. As I do not need source system name change, can I say I need not maintain in the mapping table? I still cannot understand why the error come about.

Source system for FLATFILE

When I right click on the source system FLATFILE, I don't see the 'Replicate datasources' option. Would this be a problem because I am getting an error on the transports:
No mapping defined for source system FLATFILE
When transporting InfoPackages the name of the source system is also transferred. As these names do not normally agree with one another in the test and productive systems a name replacement can be defined in table RSLOGSYSMAP using the view maintenance (transaction SM30).

There will be no option of replicating datasouces to flat file Datasource because
we will be first copying the flat files which are in the form of excel basically to our
BW system and then we directly get those files by browsing the files while creating the data source for flat file from the BW system itself.
We will get the option,replicte Data sources when we are loading data from the sap source systems,db connect and ud connect.

BW - Process Chain for Service Orders and Confirmations

Hi,
I need advice on the creation of my process chain and basically I'm still new in this BW technical area.
I have done on the infopackage (full update) , DTP from PSA (delta once update) and DTP from ODS (delta update). My datasource is 0CRM_SRV_PROCESS_H and my ODS is ZSOL_O01. while my cube is ZSOL_C01.
my plan for the step of the process chain is as below. this is based on my understanding after doing 'try and error' things using the update mode for infopackage and DTP.
1. delete the old PSA/datasource - the infopackage is run in full update
2. delete the old ODS - after afew loading, seems there are afew ODS request created with same number of record and data. that's why i plan to delete the old ODS
3. run the infopackage - new PSA request will be created
4. run the DTP (PSA to ODS) - new ODS request will be created based on the new PSA request
5. run the DTP (ODS to Cube) - new cube request will be created based on the new ODS request
izzit ok with my above step? i'm not sure on the deletion of cube index. izzit needed?

i need advice on below things since this is my 1st BW task..
1. transport list - how do i group all the objects into this transport list? if the object is attach to other TR, how do i trace it and put into my transport list? should I group all the objects into 1 TR or is there any sequence should i follow? maybe characteristic/key figures 1st or DTP first...
i'll tel you the most easy way to collect transport that you will never have issues
go to RSA1--> transport conenctions
when you get your item on on left ,you have to set up few things.. on the right there is a display mode ,, do the drop down on it and do it a list and do cloeection mode manually.
you wil always get alist of items under or over then way you can pick waht you want to transport very easily withouth missing objects or figuring out what did you miss
and you can collect all in 1, Bw is smart enough to transport and activate dependences on its way as long they are in 1 transport
2. currently my source data is from my solution manager (SOLMAN) development server. should i create 1 more infopackage for SOLMAN testing server? how about production? is that means, at the end i will have 3 different infopackage for dev, testing and prod?
once you transport infopackages they autmatically gets assigned to the new system.
3. is there any step i left or missed?
not that i can think off. if any transports are locked go to se03 and unlock your transport , make sure you unlock any underlying transports, youc an find the transports in se09 or se10

How to transport an existing infopackage from dev to quality?

Can anyone pls give me the steps for transporting an existing infopackage from dev to qual?
I am not finding any infopackage in RSA - TRANSPORT CONNECTION

Here is the steps:
1. rsa1->transport connection
2. left panel choose 'object type', middle panel choose 'infopackage' and 'select objects'. Do a search here with your IP technical name.
3. then choose your IP and 'transfer'
4. will go to right panel, choose collection mode 'manual' and grouping only 'necessary objects'
5. after objects collection finished, create request. Repeat the same steps with grouping 'in dataflow before'
6. If they are $TMP, then change the package.
7. When you click the Save on the change package, it will prompt for transport. Here you can provide an existing open transport request number, or if you like here itself you can create a new one.
8. You can check the request in SE09 to confirm.
9. If everything is ok, release your request and ask your basis/security guy to move to QA.
Also you can open your InfoPackage and click on the truck symbol directly from IP window.
