Transport issue - Report

Hi guys,
I created a web report and asked Basis expert to transport it. After looking at the transport, he asked me whether I also wanted to transport the Web Template. I hope this information is enough to answer this question: Should I include the Web Template in transport or not?

But usually, template will be transported if you have built some functions on the template with jscript or some standard properties on the template. So, better to transprot the template. Conversely, if you transport the template, then you nhave to necessarily transport the report that is assigned to the template.

Identical ID in two or more dimensions encountered during transport issue.

we encountered an issue WHEN having members IDENTICAL ID in two or more dimensions. Example:
ACCOUNT Dim; member 1000 = Cash
MATERIAL Dim: member 1000 = Plastic Cup
When in a report, we are showing only ACCOUNT members in the rows (hardcoded). for the 1000 member we have to specifiy ACCOUNT:1000 for the correct account and description to appear. - When not specifiying the dimensionname before the account then 'for whatever reason' the MATERIAL member will be display and used in report.
Here is the problem! - When we transport the report, whith hardcoded ACCOUNT:1000 celll from SB to our DEV environment, then the report does NOT work appropriatly anymore! ... this is the case as the DEV environment does NOT have a member 1000 in the MATERIAL dimension. Hence the differenetiation or hardcoding is not needed. However in addition to not needed the transported Report is NOT working anymore due to that exact same. - One once we go in DEV to remove the 'ACCOUNT:' before 1000, then the correct discription and values are refreshed, before (ACCOUNT:1000) it does not refresh with values.
How come? How to handle this inconsistancy? --- When hardcoding ACCOUNT:1000 in dimension set where numerous dimension have the 1000 member, the report works. - However same report, in an environment without identical members in numerous dimension, the report does NOT work.
Any suggestions?

Interesting. This only happens when you are not using an expansion. This looks like a bug, as the members "ACCOUNT:1000" and "1000" should be treated exactly the same in your scenario. You should probably open a message with SAP.
One workaround you can use to guarantee that the report works in all systems is to use an =EVMBR("APPNAME","ACCOUNT:1000") function in your row/column-key range instead of hardcoding "ACCOUNT:1000" directly into the cell. You will have to format the cell where you do this as "General" instead of "Text" before Excel will evaluate the formula.

Error While transporting Crystal Reports from BW DEV to Quality System

Hi.
I have developed a crystal report using the SAP menu. We saved the report to SAP BW dev server using the SAP menu and published it to BOE.
Now i want to transport my Crystal report to Quality system, I followed the same mechanism to transport crystal report which are aplied to other BW objects, but when i am trying to transport its giving me a short dump error:
The error appears something like this:
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The Current ABAP program u201CSAPLRSCR_CEu201D had to be terminated because it has come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
Function module u201C/CRYSTAL/PUBLISH_REPORTu201D was called
With the parameter u201CI_REFRESH_FOLDER_INFOu201D.
This parameter is not defined.
This is first time i am transporting any crystal report to other bw system.
Is there any document for transporting Crystal reports, I had searched SDN but didnt got any relevant documents.
or is their any setting which need to be done in BW side.
Any help will be appriciable.

Hi,
I would suggest you open a case with support so that they can look at your system. In general you should be able to transport the Crystal REports object in the same way you transport a Bex query.

Hi,
I would suggest you open a case with support so that they can look at your system. In general you should be able to transport the Crystal REports object in the same way you transport a Bex query.

In report,Click details list,modify layout to include vendor,p.o no,material doc.no,posting date,gr material,gr qty,uom,valuation type.

Hi,
You can see the same through MB51 itself. Go to MB51 and put the mvt 541 and plant.
After running the report you can choose your own layout with Po No etc.,

Transporting HR Report Category

Hi,
I have created a report category for a report.
and I have used this in other reports also.
I saved the report category in a seperate request and I have transported in first. Then all the reports using this report category are transported.
But this report category is not reflecting in target system.
Is there any specific procedure in transporting the report category.

There is no specific method other than what you have done for transporting rep category.
Just check your request contents once again whether the entries you made are present.

When you transprot make sure your Report catogory is not overridden by other request
Do one thing finally means after all the report request has been transfered to prod.
go to dev client and do changes and save report catatogory and transport it to quality and chk

Transporting Crystal report based on ECC table

Is there an option to transport the report to our production system without having to recreate it?

Hi Shlomi,
Yes, you need to 'set the datasource location' of the report to the Production System.
Go to Database > Set Datasource Location and change the source.

Currently our servers are running with "Exchange 2010 SP2 RU7", we are planning to update the Rollup version to RU8 for SP2.
Is there any knows issues reported for "Rollup 8 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 2" till now ? is it safe to update the RU8 ?

(1) I had to roll it back:
The rollup released Tuesday the 9th caused random problems with systems ranging from general slow down to operation failed errors. It didn’t impact everyone at once and seemed to take 48hrs for everyone to have a problem. Rolling
back the update and rebooting the server seemed to resolve the issue.
Issues reported before the general mailflow stopping for everyone:
Nothing major … an occasional operation failed when I hit send but, it will go thru after I hit the send button a couple of times.
A MICROSOFT OUTLOOK BOX APPEARS WITH A TRIANGLE WITH A ! INSIDE IT. THE MESSAGE SAYS THE OPERATION FAILED.

OUTLOOK PROFILE. IN MICROSOFT WINDOWS, CLICK CONTROL PANEL.CLICK USER ACCOUNTS AND THEN CLICK MAIL. CLICK SHOW PROFILE, AND THEN CLICK PROPERTIES.
When he tries to open an e-mail, he gets an error message.
If he tries to mark an e-mail unread, he gets a different message.

Epson R2400 Possible incorrect default profile causing issues reported

I'm based in the UK and I'm currently testing the 6.12 driver with my 2400 on Leopard. Tests have been done on clean installs of LR1.3.1 and CS3 on 10.4.10, 10.5 and 10.5.1 on both a Intel and G5-based Macs.
The main issue that I have spotted, and believe to be the cause of many of the issues reported so far is as follows. If you check, via the Colorsync utility, the default assigned profile for the R2400 after installing the driver onto a clean 10.5 or 10.5.1 system you'll find that it is set to "SPR2400 Premium Glossy" rather than "SPR2400 Epson Standard".
I have always known the Epson drivers for many Epson printers to use the "Epson Standard" profile as default and therefore believe that the wrong default profile is set by the installer and this in turn creates a kind of double-profiling effect when an application tries to manage the colour rather than the driver.
This particular issue only causes problems when printing via Lightroom, that is to say that I can print from Photoshop 10.0.1(CS3) using the correct custom profile and managing the colour through Photoshop along with turning off colour management in the Epson driver just as we always have in prior versions.
This default profile can not, to my knowledge, be changed by the user. Please note that I'm also using custom profiles created in-house which requires us to use the application-managed print route rather than the driver-managed route.
I'm actually in the middle of discussing this issue with both Adobe (via techsupport email) and Epson UK (by phone but not getting much success) as I have had no success with the new driver and Lightroom but also intermittently with InDesign and Photoshop (both CS3 versions with latest updates. For the time being I'm back on 10.4.10 with LR1.3.1 and CS3 with no problems.
I'm hoping that Jeff Schewe, Ian Lyons or someone with the right contacts can raise this issue further with Adobe and Epson and get them to resolve this issue. I have read both Ian and Jeff's posts and would like to thank them (and others) for their help in explaining some of the reasons for the issues but along the same path they really are the people we look to for answers at times like these. Hope this may provide some help to solve at least some of the issues we're seeing.

You're describing pretty much what I'm seeing here with the UK version in the UK so it looks like I was right about the default profile being set differently from previous drivers.
Could you describe step-by-step how you setup Lightroom and the driver settings used when you get good prints using your profiles? I'm interested for comparison with my own workflow.
If I understand correctly from past information and experience the Standard profile if used when the colour management is turned off in the driver and acts a kind of null transform so therefore any other choice of profile as default would appear to suggest that we are asking Lightroom to colour manage the image using the profile we select in the application but then the driver is using a second profile (Premium Glossy) when colour management is turned off in the driver where previously it would be using the Standard profile which does not affect the data passed from the application.
It's still weird to me that I can get good prints from Photoshop using the driver and profiles under Leopard but, from what I've read by Jeff Schewe, this could be down to the new print pipeline being used by Lightroom. Not pointing the finger anywhere but just making an observation.

With all due respect you solution of using the standard Epson profile and papers doesn't work for those of us who need to use custom profiles for third party papers, even before the third party inks are introduced into the equation. For example when printing on Ilford papers I would still need to specify Ilford's profile for the R2400 even when I'm using Epsons inks and this would still give problems.
Also we've been using the third-party (Lyson PhotoChrome) inks with a range of printers including the R2400 and 7600 for well over 5 years and had no issues before when using Lightroom or Photoshop (or any other application for that matter), the problems only arise when using 10.5.
I'm not sure were the suggestion to delete "both sets of drivers" from leading as I've not got two drivers, that is to say that each install has been done on a clean OS before testing. I actually have an external drive with four partitions for each type of Mac (G5 or Intel). Each drive has a clean install of 10.4.8, 10.4.10, 10.5 and 10.5.1 so that we can "roll back" our internal drive any any point in the testing by simply cloning the OS we need on to the internal drive and then start again, installing just the drivers and apps we want to test.
Hope we can find some more information out from Epson as to the actual reason for the different defaults even if this just clears any confusion about what it is actually doing during different workflows. I'll keep the forum informed with anything I find out but would still like Ian to post the settings from that the people that he knows are getting good results.

i created selection texts for my report program . when i transport my report are this selection texts are transported along with my report or else do i need to do it explicitly.....

When you transport you report, all the Text Elements i.e. Title and Headers, Selection Texts and Text Symbols also get transported along with your report.
You need not do explicitly.

SLD Transport issue

I have transport issue with SLD objects. I have different SLD's for my Development and Quality.
1) Is CMS a option to transport the SLD objects like Business systems and Technical systems.
2) I have technical System XYZ on Development system with 2 SWCV's installed for it but in the Quality i have for the same system XYZ i have three SWCV's installed, now if i transport the technical system XYZ from Development to Quality i want the additional SWCV installed for XYZ to be removed, but this is not happening, i even tried to transport the concerned SWCV and Product from Developmen to quality still the installed systems doesnt change as Desired.
Please tell me if its possible and how can be achieved.

Two types of transport mechanism are used in PI.
File transport method.
CMS transport method.
One upcoming is CTS+.
Perform the following to import/export ID objects.
1. To export or import directory objects, call the configuration maintenance screen of the Integration Builder.
2. Call the context menu for an object in a collaboration profile in the Integration Builder navigation tree and choose Export.or choose Tools ® Export Configuration Objects
3. Select the Transport Using File System mode and follow the wizards instructions. When selecting individual objects, you can use drag and drop to drag the objects from the navigation tree and drop them in the object selection field.
The Integration Builder saves a binary export file with the suffix tpz in the export directory of the directory server
Do not change the file name of the export file. If you do, the Integration Builder will not accept it as the appropriate file when you import.
4. To import the export file(s) to another Integration Directory, first copy or move it to the import directory of the target directory.
5. Call the configuration maintenance screen of the Integration Builder for the target directory. Choose Tools ® Import Configuration Objects...
6. Select the export file saved in the import directory by using the dialog box that appears.
If the import is successful, the export file is moved to the subdirectory Configuring Groups and Transport Targets

Goto SE01 transaction
Click New
Enter the details & Transport is created
To add objects
eg. To add NEW report program
Goto SE38
Type program name & click on create
It will ask for Package name
Enter the package name & click on save
It will ask for Transport Number
Enter the transport nUmber
==> Your report program is included in the transport request
To add Existing report program in Transport request
Goto SE38
Open the program
Click GOTO=> ATTRIBUTES
Change the Package name from $TMP to correct package name
Click on Save
It will ask for transport number
Enter the number
=> Your program is included in transport request

Transportation Issue

Hi Experts,
I have a transportation issue which have been explained below:
While am transporting thr entire dataflow fromDEV to Quality then my transport is getting failed and its saying that return code error 12 (Program terminated (job: RDDEXECL, no.: 15512700)
) which is critical and when am checking in the Quality its has a Dump message which is given in detail below:
Name of Runtime error: TYPELOAD_LOST....
Can anyone please let me know the cause of this error and also please let me know how to overcome the same....

Ur msg desnt have any error logs - so it is difficult to nail the issue. But I believe you are trying to export all the objects in a one huge transport request, where some of dependencies can be missing. So spilt up the objects into different tranport and try export them in a sequence.
Just repeating the transport again and again doesnt take away the error. try to fix it.
